Here are the hoppin' happenings from the overnight hours in that Big Brother House of When Good TV Goes Bad:
- Will, Janelle, Danielle and Marcellas played Murderer with the deck of cards.
- It was a bit refreshing to see them have a good time, laughing and not strategizing.
- But, in the long run, it was a bit boring.
- Howie joined them in his underwear. Now, there's where things might get a bit strange, eh?
- Howie tried to play the card game, but he didn't understand it. He decided he only wanted to visit his Jack Shack, then shower.
- Aha! A question answered (I was confused) - Marcellas fussed that he wishes he wasn't going to sequester and would be able to go on with his life. [Editor's note: I wasn't sure if it was this week or next. Oh, Marcellas will be alone for a week!]
- Howie gave Internet viewers a guided tour of the Jack Shack. Eep.
- When he finished not being the Master of his own Domain, he said "that was the bee's knees!" Very odd.
- Will told Janelle and Howie that he and Mike Boogie BOTH won the Coup d'Etat question, but no one knows. [Editor's note: @@ Eyeroll!]
- James really thinks the L.O.D. can make the final four - himself, Danielle, Will and Mike.
- Janelle told Will that Marcellas and Erika wanted her to nominate Woogie the week she nominated Diane.
- Howie told Janelle and Will that keeping Will was the best decision they ever made. He also said Chicken George sold out to Marcellas, Danielle and company.
- Janelle, Will and Howie plan to "test" Erika by telling her they're going to go after Chill Town. Well, not Will tell her, obviously!
- Will said that James will have a lot to answer for when he gets out of the house because the Internet fans see it all. Howie, Janelle and Will spent a good deal of time trashtalking James, but you notice he's not on the block. Hmmm...

Imagine if James really has been acting as if he's no longer in Howie and Janelle's alliance, then I'd have to say he deserves an emmy, although I would be very surprised Will hasn't picked up on it, James pulling the wool over Will's eyes, would surely be the biggest joke of BB.

I keep thinking about this coup d'etat thing. How can BB possibly think that once the winner knows what the power is they aren't gonna blab it to somebody. There is no way its gonna remain a secret. I think it would be better if they announce the winner on Thursday night, drag the winner into the diary room and tell him/her what the power is and make them use it then and there, without any discussion with any of their alliances. Now that would make things interesting. What would Mike do if he actually did win it (and I'm not at all sure he did). Any opinions on this?

I agree....I don't like the idea that BB thinks the HG will keep the power a secret. There ought to be something that requires them to use it right away or some kind of punishment that would really make them think hard before sharing what the power is with anyone.
Someone mentioned in previous comments that the winner should wait til final four to use the power. From what I understand, it's only good for this week and the next two after. That limits them to final six, I believe.
Do you all think that Marci will be nice enough to give George his slop pass when he leaves this week?

Having everyone know what it is at the same time (Thursday) but then giveing the winner (Boog-man we presume) 3 weeks to use it is part of the strategy of the game. Then the HOH's and everyone else have to factor this Coup Power into their own decisions.
I do not believe Boogie has the correct answer. I think it's something like "You and I till death do us part". We may never know. BB may tell us no one got it right!
Now, when this last clue showed up was everyone around to see it?
Just thinking how some seem to think that things are rigged for Janelle to win and having read your blog it seems that BB really wanted Will in this house and Will only agreed after they allowed Mike to be in also.
Mike winning the CDT sure does put them close to the end if he doesn't have to use right away. I really find it hard to believe that Ericka was a fan picked especially now seeing that her and Mike were an item outside the house....things that make you go hummm..lol.
Also, didn't she say she dated Josh from 1st season for 5 years? Wouldn't she have started dating him before her season?

Marcellas wants to get on with his life? Please! He has no life. Big Brother is, as far as I know, the only gig he's got. By the way, I love your site and can't imagine summer without it!
The Coup might be conpared to the hidden idol from Survivor..use or keep, depending on how good a player the winner is. I wouldn't mind if it lost its power if the 'secret' was revealed by the winner before it is used. But even that shouldn't be necessary, as it isn't as powerful if its power is known (is this a drinking game with 'power' as the trigger?) Say Woogie has the Coup Power and tells everyone (or even if Mike tells only Will) then Will or other hgs could use that info to do his own deeds and still be safe. The HOH would change their behavior and noms if they knew the winner could overthrow them. The word "Coup" means overthrow of a government...so any HOH would have to be wondering. In a mind game like BB, the not knowing is what will come into play..both by the winner and the other hgs. Those who don't have it will use their imaginations about what the power is. The winner will be afraid to use it incorrectly and look like a fool. So, if a player is smart and playing only for themselves, they will keep quite about it. If they are not so smart they will leak it. And if the winner turns out to be Boogie and he doesn't tell Will...how will the Dr. react to being kept out of it? What do we care which way it goes, because the important part will be our watching how good a player the winner of the Coup is. In fact, the winner will actually have to play the game to use it wisely and these All Stars like to not win comps to keep from being a target. It should be a good week from Thursday on. I wanted James to win, but after hearing him in the DR with all of his mean & nasty comments, well I have to jump ship. George is now my favorite. He does not talk down about anyone, nor has he lied or decieved any player in the house.
Sue, I agree with you about possibilities of a coup d'etat.
And with a real Coup of overthrowing a government and installing a new government; that party iniating the Coup D' etat must have enough supporters to actually make a Coup successful.
( ie, Castro, Juan Peron, the Russian Revolution, ect ).
So that got me wondering if this would be similar to a Real Coup or only a Semi Coup...LOL!
In other words, say Boogie has won the Coup D' etat. Would he need the Majority of the House to agree with his decision to overthrow the HOH or not.? I am guessing that he would have all the power which is different than a real coup d'etat.
As our country never went through a Coup, thus many do not know what it is. ( well, in a way the American Revolution was a Coup as we were under British Rule)..but I will save that for History Channel blog..sorry..LOL>>>LOL
It just makes me glad BB is not a real country as I would hate to a country run by Woogie or James or any of them..LOL!
But kudos to BB for a good educational lesson in fans learning what a Coup D'etat is.

Good point Caroline! Also, using a capital D can change the meaning, can't it? Maybe not, but I notice BB does. In some strange way BB often mimics what is going on outside the house. Last season "Hurrican Howie" kept calling himself that as we viewers were watching Katrina and the other hurricanes. It bothered me he was making light of hurricanes but then he didn't know what was going on. Then to have BB bring the mention of a Coup into the house at the same time Castro's being ill was in the real news was noteworthy..to me at least. Midway thru the season and I have to say your doing a great job, I was worried with your knee fine this year you wouldn't have time. Thank you for all your hard work. Now I think Will is the king, I came in wanting S6 but he's proved that he is the best player. Did no one watch his season, how they all believe him is beyond me. I think the Dr phone calls between woogie are hilarious. Danielle is the only other mind in the house that can compete.

While Season 6 alliance made some questionable nominations, I also think Dani made a big mistake in nominating Janelle. She knows Janie is a strong player. To get rid of strong players, backdooring them is more effective. Instead she nominates Janelle who gets POV ( no surprise there, the girl is awesome in winning competitions)..and then Kaysar goes up. Their target was not Kaysar but Janelle and Danielle messed that one up. Yet all the HG talk about is Janelle, Kaysar, messing up Nominations. Granted, I love Kaysar but getting rid of Nakomis before Chilltown, never understood that. I could not understand the need for Janie to get rid of Diane before many other HGs.
Notice Will mentions in feeds, he was not that involved in the game the first 3 weeks..and that was the one chance the Houseguests had to get rid of Chilltown. Now it may be too late. They waited and waited and now Woogie is too strong.
Having said that, I still like Janie, Howie, and George the best now that Kaysar is gone. But some of their moves have not been the smartest.

It would be cramped...just big enough for the hose, and other pool equipment. But I think there is another explanation. One that Howie and BB producers are keeping secret from us viewers. Maybe Boogie is in on it, too. But, I am pretty sure Will doesn't know. What we see on tv is only the entrance to an underground room that offers much more spacious 'accomodations'. Personally I think Howie's private time is getting too much play, but to each his own.

I don't believe the HG are blind to Will/Boogie, There's more to this constant editing around those two, Rigged or not, it revolves around Will, I agree-- I highly doubt Erica was voted in the house, and not Will, that is a big hmmmmmmmmm - in the same token Danelle wins POV just as well, of course James has to trash people in order to fool the viewers, however James can't pull it off, Will is the planted seed, therefore no direct rigging can be questioned.

Just had a thought about the CDT. It would be the PERFECT way to backdoor James this year! Get Mike to be head of house his last week with the CDT, have him nominate 2 people who will really be safe, nom another if he has to for nomination replacement, and then "overthrow" himself on the Thursday eviction night, and put James against someone they won't vote out. Wouldn't that just eat James up??? And he deserves it for being the childish name caller that he is. Oooh....I wish I could be the one....

It just makes me sick, sick, sick to read the live feeds and see what James, Will and Boogie are doing to Janelle!! James is so mean and vicious, like you've said Jackie...but Will and Boogie are just as awful. They're going past just "playing the game" and being so cruel. Boggie is just gross, and James is a despicable human being. I pity whoever Will really ends up with in real life, because how could you ever trust him? I love Janelle and hope she and Howie can just keep winning competitions. She's going to be crushed when she realizes how Will has betrayed her. :-(

The cruel trash talking is the thing I really hate the most. I understand playing the game to win. If you have to lie, cheat and backstab - so be it. But there is no excuse for the filth that comes out of James' mouth, and he's not the only one, just the worst. The way they all smile in Janelle's face and then call her every name in the book behind her back is dispicable. I wish she would just overhear some of these comments, she'd go into battle mode like she did with the nerd herd last year. She was pretty scary once they got her riled up.

I know Janelle is blonde and can be vain and has had a mean thing here or there to say about another person. That's normal but reading the blog and seeing some of the dairy room I'm shocked at how hateful they are about Janelle and some of the mean things James has also said about CG.
I suppose the reason I am so gleeful in my imagining how to truly backdoor James in a big way this year is because of how hateful he has been toward others behind their backs. He's rude, and very immature in his name calling. If he's really so smart, why not be creative in taking out his frustrations with others in a not-so-hurtful way. I liked him up to the point of his name-calling and talking so negatively behind people's backs and being all sweet and nice to their faces. Just think about it makes my spine crawl. ~SharonS
I love the talk about the Coup. I agree I think if some of them get it they will blab. Others may hold it secret until the right time. Play like someone else has it. I would save it at least until i was put on the chopping block. Then turn them tables! ha ha The producers could put the stipulation that if they hear the winner talk at all about having the power then they lose the ability.
I do have one question... i am a newbie at big brother - a coworker got me baited into it and now the show and this site has me hook line and sinker. I have to check it multiple times daily.....

Sharon I like your way of thinking. One thing that bothers me every season of BB is the lack of new thinking. The hgs find something that works one season and keep on using it. A backdoor was so clever when they first came up with it. I think they even pretended the evictee wasn't supposed to go out. They didn't want to have to deal with a lot of drama the entire time the noms are up and settled for just having it from Veto ceremony until eviction. Was backdooring the same as Nak's 5 finger plan? I've forgotten. Even the devil ducks came from one season hg making a game out of throwing the floatie ducks around...now they are in the house. Think up something new!, I want to tell them. The POV is not always won by someone on the block. It's just happened that way a lot this year. Last year, James won the veto A LOT -- like 5 or 6 times. He used it sometimes, and sometimes he didn't. I think that may be why they put in the randomness to picking veto comp players this year (it used to be players choice -- that is, the HOH and 2 nominees could choose who they wanted to play also). Hope this hels...

When Danielle removed herself by Veto I was thinking how the roles were reversed ,as Ken said, with Janelle having the Veto to Danielle's HOH the week before. I think, Ken, one reason that is happening this season is that no hg wants the POV except the one who is on the block. The others tend to try to throw the comp to avoid making any decision or making themselves into a target by having that power. That is why George became the viewers sweetheart. He stepped up and fought for it and made the others (except Kaysar) look useless.

I didn't like "Woogie" for a while but since they've managed to convince everybody in the house that they are in their alliance (Or close to it) I think I could live with one of them winning since obviously everybody else is too stupid to connect the dots. However, George has always been my favorite since Season 1. You don't see others getting banner planes ;) -- I still wear my Chicken George T-Shirt which his family started selling during season 1.
Have I said how much I dislike James. What a lying SOB. I just don't understand why Janelle and Howie believe him. He calls them stupid (which I'm beginning to believe they are for believing him), dumb a**, fu**ups, you name it. He needs to go. They need to get rid of him. I just want to yell at him. I keep seeing everyone saying how mean everyone is to Janelle. She's pretty mean and dispicable herself. She's not exactly been forthcoming and truthful to everyone either. James does take it a step to far with the name calling, but he's mainly doing it in the DR and not around the house. He's playing her though, as she THINKS she's playing Will. Don't feel so sorry for her. She already admitted to "strigning' Will along and making him think she likes him so she can fake an alliance with him so he'll do what she wants. Lets not pretend she's some saintly player who's done no wrong....with exception to Chicken George and pretty much Howie as well, everyone in the house has done a little backstabbing, lying and "pretending" with the other HG's.

I don't see Boogie as being portrayed as a cool guy. I don't like him and I do not think he's cool. Will is who makes the show. I'm not really rooting for him to win, but he approaches everything with surgar and spice. Boogies does not. He's VERY rough around the edges. I do not see what Erika sees in him. JMO

I don't know who posted the below (I cut and pasted) but James does go around the house and trashes Janelle and Howie ALL THE TIME! They just do not show it on TV, but you hear it in the live feed constantly. Boogie, Erika, James, Danielle and Marcie do it all the time. What you hear Janey say is a SMALL portion of what the others do. They are so trashy towards Janelle.
She is NOT that bad. She's too gullible and too easily played. If Howie or Janelle do not win the Coup or the HOH next week, they are gone. If the coup does not put her and Howie up, they need to do something to get rid of Danielle, James or Boogie, if not, they are gone. I just do not understand Howie and Janelle, they are trusting people too much. Play the game guys for just you! Gosh!!!!

My concerns as I'm rooting for Woogie:
Mike was too open in sharing with James today/yesterday. Subsequently, James is blossoming into the beautiful flower that he is -- (complete sarcasm). Thankfully, James was (too) open with Mike today. Mike realized that Will needs to "tone down". Hopefully, Mike will "tone down"!! by 80% with James. Mike just hasn't been smart recently by sharing with James so much. James probably woke up Janelle too much to ChillTown's schemes.
I think Will is playing for Mike to win. (Tell me if this is already known.)
Ideally HG should be evicted in the following order (for the sake of ChillTown):
Marcellas, Janelle, Danielle, James, Howie, Erika
Unfortunately since James was allowed to mess things up, Danielle will have to go before James.
At this point, when Janelle and Howie, and George are gone, I'll no longer be watching BB. I've really disliked Danielle since her season, and my feelings toward her haven't changed. She may be a good gameplayer, but she's definitely not someone I'd like to know. James is despicable. And although I was amused by Will and Boogie at first, their schtick has gotten old.
I'm still hoping that Janelle will win the coup d'etat--"as you sow, so shall you reap"--isn't that what she guessed? As someone else mentioned, at least the clues would be in order!
Does Danielle ever shut up????? Sometimes I get so tired of listening to her go on and on and on.
George has alot of baseballs.He has been through alot and should win. Look at all the weight he has lost.The Beatle generation is far out man and resourceful.WATCH OUT FOR THIS MAN.
