TV Newsy Bits - Saturday, October 21, 2006

Oh, my. Yesterday was a double whammy day here for me and I couldn't post to the blog. First, strong wind gusts brought down a tree practically in front of my apartment building. It actually fell on one parked car and one car which was driving by - a huge tree uprooted. Yikes! No one was hurt, though two vehicles will go to car heaven. But, my power was out through the evening hours.

Then, when the power returned, I tried to post and Blogger's servers were down. As I said, a double whammy. But I'm here now and here are the TV Newsy bits from the past few days:

I received some promotional goodies from TBS (the SuperStation). I'll hopefully have time to investigate them thoroughly over the weekend and give you the lowdown on two new shows set to debut next month - My Boys and 10 Items or Less.

And, but of course, we have The Amazing Race tomorrow night. The promos make me think a team I enjoy may be in trouble. Eek!

Jackie...I feel for you..I know the WEATHER was responsible for alot of crap yesterday!!! We were to leave Foxwoods CT at noon yesterday..left one hour later...on crossing into Jersey on I-80 four lanes of grid-lock. We were to be back in central PA around 9p. IMAO 13 hours and 45 minutes later we pulled into the town and an 1/2 away from my home so I got HOME at about 330am. Now a normal trip is 7 hours..Major ACCIDENTS all over. We left the interstate( hoping to use backroads) and stopped at an IHOP with 2 buses on a back road (they had to call in help)(2 hrs there) hoping to go thru Philipsburg/ABE to Harrisburg...but luckily 80 opened by midnight. On our way to Foxwoods, we had to use a detour..Tuesday...thought maybe road was flooded from rain...later found out a woman threw herself in front of a bus. Of course we left PA a bit late or it could have been our bus! What a week. Now trying to catch up with things I taped so I can read and respond to blogs. SO whew...no more adverse weather for awhile, please.

OH NO....leaving on vacation today and hope I can keep up with all the goings on of my favorite shows all week.I really want to see TAR tonight,as the promos are unsettling. But I always know,if I DO miss anything this wee,JACKIE will be here with her highlights and lowlights and I will be back up to speed. That poster that griped about the length of the recaps........well,they need to go somewhere else. We love our JACKIE and her reports.See you all in about a week!!!

Boo...hiss...

Jackie's entries are just enough to let us know what happened without being a novel with every tiny detail! I agree with Sharon. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. Not to mention that the person who said that was anonymous. If you're gonna complain, have the guts to leave a name!!

Glad to see everything is okay with ya Jackie. The weather here has been cold, but we haven't had any storms!

delee - Yikes! I know there was horrible traffic delays and it seemed like you really got stuck. Thankfully your bus wasn't the suicide tool. I never understand why someone bent on suicide uses public transportation and puts the driver/engineer through such trauma.

Sharon - Have a good vacation and thank you!

ORKMommy - As lengthy as my recaps can be, almost always someone mentions something I've missed and meant to mention! I know they're long, but I hope I write interestingly enough and break up the text with images that it's readable. Folks can always skim through and read the parts they like, but if things aren't there... well, I can't fix that! So, I'll end up being lengthy. I know that some folks depend on the entry when they miss a show.

jackie - i think you are an awesome writer - you should think about writing a book, about your blogging experiences & unknown tid bits about reality shows, plus maybe updates on contestants - i don't think anyone has done that yet - i think all your fans would buy the book, & you would be rich & famous !!

thank you for your hard work & determination

Jackie -- I think your recaps are perfect. I hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way :(

As a matter of fact, I missed Lost on Wednesday & checked the blog first thing on Thursday for your recap. It was perfect!

ORKMommy - Oh, no... my comment actually referred back to the original comment from Anonymous more than yours. Turn that frownie face right around! ;-)

Barb - Thank you. Maybe one day...!
