TV Newsy Bits - Monday, November 6, 2006

Ah, another good episode of Heroes tonight. Now Micah is turning into one of them, too. The teaser for next week was about whether the Horn-Rimmed Glasses Guy was good or evil. I've been thinking evil, but since they mentioned it, I'll change my vote to good.

If I were to have a superpower, I'd go for flying. I have no need to be the Incredible Hulk or certainly not the Beast. But, flying? Well, that would beat NJ traffic and be a heck of a lot cheaper, too!

In other television news:

I watched How I Met Your Mother tonight, too. Oh, he's gay. He admits it. So what? It was a cute episode. I loved the name bit with Barney and I like the show more when Lily and Marshall are together. Are you watching?

Remember - 'The Bachelor' and 'Nip/Tuck' <-- join the discussion!

Flying? Bah. Useless entertainment. I want to be able to heal all wounds. Then I could indeed promise my daughter I won't die.

Just got my new TV GUIDE and it has a cute blurb about our favorite reality show host.....the "Philiminator"! It says that he is a real danger junkie, having set a bungee-jumping record, eating dinner atop a raging volcano and renewing his vows underwater! I still say..."still waters run deep, you have to watch those quite ones".......LOL. I LOVE Phil!

Also,it names the CHO BROTHERS as possibly the nicest duo to ever run TAR. They are exceptionally nice guys, but then I really liked TYLER/BJ,last years winners and thought they were really nice guys too. True, they never waited on others and helped others like the CHO's,but those two really need to step it up now and get more into the race. They are the only ones I really want to win this time.I do agree that this is a pretty low key season just like Survivor this time.

Remember to vote non-fiction today: vote Republican. They stand for the closest thing to real freedom and security. Otherwise you head for licentiousness and tyranny, where might makes right.

Today's comments. Although I still love Lost, it's moving too slow. Maybe I'm just getting impatient with TV shows, but I think they're out to get me. No, actually, I think the popular Lost has influenced every other show: intrigue, multiple connections, and SLOW MOVING. Give a dog a bone. I'm thinking even more about Heroes. Yes, I kept watching it since the marathon night. It's pretty cool. I like it. But dang, okay, ya give me bone only to tease me. Myself I end up stressed. Heroes doesn't have the depth Lost does; they shouldn't be exploiting the winning techniques of Lost so much. You what it is? It's too much DRAMA. Lost can get away with it, they were first with the winning deep combo. But Heroes (though, yes, done pretty well) can afford to give us MORE something: action, plot, story, interaction, interplay: each and all in a way that MOVES IT ALONG. Or maybe they need to slow down the overall story and fill out the individual stories. There's no need to tie up our minds into enigma all these many interlinkings. Please! Ya got such a cool premise and story: use it... don't complicate it. But hey, this is America and since Lost was successful then the next guy is going to capitalize on the technique... at the expense of quality. Though capitalism is the best, I guess it's not perfect. Hey, the same with Republicans. The perfection of the Dems is fantasy, a utopian worldview that denies that that there are evil people in the world, and denies that those people can't be negotiated with. "Hello, McFly."

Jackie,
I looked at the big brother article and I do think it's something like the sims. I never liked the simms game. I hope the cho's win. It would be great for the nice guys to go all the way. Yes today is election day and I say vote your heart. I think the repbublicans are living in a fiction world but that is my personnel opinion. the important thing is for everyone to get out and vote. Your still the best Jackie and I can't wait till the summer for the next big brother

I love, love, love How I Met Your Mother. I had a little cry about Neil only because I've had a crush on him since his Doogie Howser days. But, who cares that he's gay. His character on How I Met Your Mother is hilarious. Swarley - that was some funny stuff!!

Our Kentucky couple, David and Mary, were on the view & they were given vacations for the family for three summers, a new car AND a new house.
They were recognized for being the caring, giving people that they are.
They may not have won the Amazing Race but their lives are being changed in amazing ways.
Good Guys may finish last, but they can make a positive mark on others..
Way to go David & Mary!!

Just saw MARY/DAVID on "the View" and did they ever hit the jackpot!!Rosie and all gave them a cruise(which Mary insisted had to include the CHO BROS,cause they couldn't have done anything without them). They got vacations for their kids, one a year in summer for three years to San Diego,Disneyland and Grand Canyon. DAVID got $1000 for coal miner equipment and then she gave them a new Ford Explorer-Eddie Bauer edition and a new three bedroom house to be built on their lot. Rosie told them to give their trailer to somebody who could use it,cause that's the kind of nice thing they do. How great is that!!! Way to go,MARY/DAVID....they are reaping more rewards that if they had won. Good for them and thank you Rosie and The VIEW... I am so glad that Star Jones left so I can stand to watch it again....LOL

Dawn, thank you for being less narrow-minded than
quistian. I agree wholeheartedly. Vote your heart.

Piggy-backing on what I said earlier, voting your heart is not voting realistically. The heart wants everyone to get-along, but the mind knows/sees that some people refuse to get-along. Hence, voting your heart is apt to voting fiction.
Saying "narrow-minded" is not fair. The Left calls "narrow-minded" whatever does not agree with them. It could be well argued that the Left is more narrow-minded than the Right, under a more reasonable definition.

Actually, folks... I'd prefer politics weren't discussed here. You know the saying... religion and politics!

Thanks.

Okay, Jackie. You got it. If that's the way you want it, I respect that totally.
