TV Newsy Bits - Wednesday, December 20, 2006

Uh-oh, winter starts tomorrow. Do you have your hats and gloves? Oh, sure... I'm certain some folks live in warm winter states, but I'm not one of them. However, the forecast for this area is not including a white Christmas this year. I'm sure we'll have a white Groundhog's Day and be ready for spring anyway.

Here at the TV Newsy Bits I found while poking about the Internet today:
  • The TV Tattler has an interview with Yul Kwon, recent Survivor winner (as if you'd forget).
  • Taylor Hicks First Album Enters Chart at #2 in First Week - I saw Taylor Hicks singing "White Christmas" this morning on The Early Show. It was a rather unusual version, but enjoyable. I can't help but wonder what new talents we'll see next month when American Idol returns.
  • Speaking of American Idol, previous winner Ruben Studdard has shed 100 pounds and has his sights set on helping others in Alabama lose weight.
  • Evangeline Lilly, Kate on Lost, lost her Hawaii rental home to a fire early today. Thankfully, she and her roommate(s) weren't home at the time, so they're fine.

I'm currently watching Criminal Minds. I know it's a repeat, but remember... this is a show I haven't been watching, so it's new to me. Y'know, I may end up getting hooked on this show.

Are you all out catching up on shopping or did you get some TV watching done today?

Today's Lyrical Non Sequitur:

Seasons change with the scenery,
weaving time in a tapestry,
won't you stop and remember me at any convenient time?
Funny how my memory skips while looking over manuscripts of unpublished rhyme,

drinking my vodka and lime,
I look around, leaves are brown and the sky is a hazy shade of winter.
Look around, leaves are brown there's a patch of snow on the ground.
-- "Hazy Shade of Winter" by Paul Simon, recorded by Simon and Garfunkel

I'm watching "Criminal Minds" too,Jackie and I'm liking what I'm seeing too.And now, since "Lost" is moving to 10PM,it may just be my program of choice, although I do like "Ugly Betty" quite a bit as well.

I'm done w/shopping,but now have to wrap it all and I keep putting it off! I'll be at it up till the very last minute,no doubt!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY & PROSPEROUS 2007 to one and all!! I am so looking forward to everything getting back to normal,tv-wise,cause I miss you guys when there's nothing to dish about...lol. JACKIE...you are the best and I hope Santa is especially nice to you this year!!

Just anothe chance to say hi Jackie, and tell you here in "sunny california" I wake up to 29 degrees and frost the last 4 days. Granted its not Denver, but for us and our fragile plant life, its a shock. what we need is some hot reality shows to spice it up!
Wishing you all the best in the NEW YEAR!!! And to all the rest of the gang out there!

Lyss and Sharon -- I love to shop and to wrap so I'll be at your respective houses come next October/November and you can go get a latte and relax! I am a gift buyer for a few of my clients and I laugh all the time that it's a job!

Still, I am doing my own til the last minute as well, as I have so many top buy for and everyone I know is all over the country so it all has to be boxed, shipped and tracked.

I'm exhausting y'all to even tell you about it! Now doing dishes... I HATE THAT! And sorting tax reciepts -- while you might be willing to trade me for the dishes, bet there there's no one who likes to sort for taxes!

HO HO HO Where are our SHOWS? I would love to try criminal minds but I've not had an extra second. Happy Holidays to all. Thanks everyone for making my free time so much fun!

I will be missing Survivor tonight, but I can offer this little tidbit...

CBS has finally updated its Survivor: Cook Islands voting history site to reveal the breakdown of the Final Three jury vote that awarded the million dollar prize to Yul Kwon.
And it turns out, jungle boy Ozzy Lusth's instincts were right on:

Sundra did indeed vote for Yul.

The breakdown:
Parvati
Nate
Jenny
and
Rebecca
voted for Ozzy.

Sundra
Adam
Jonathan
Candice
and
Brad
voted for Yul.

Hmmm...if Candice had stuck to her threat to Yul then Ozzy would have won!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone

Jackie, I was singing along to the S & G lyrics & it brought back so many memories of long ago - one of them was that my best friend in h.s. & i were going to run away to NYC after h.s. graduation & meet S & G & marry them !! Of course it didn't happen, but i have fond memories of being in love with Art G. & of longing to live in new york !!
p.s. I was from Chicago
