Wow! I am a little shocked that Stephanie was voted off before Phil or Sanjaya, even though I wasn't that big a fan of her singing last night.

I'm just so glad they didn't do something stupid like sending Jordin home, but then again, they kept Sanjaya. Go figure!

NO FRICKIN WAY!!

My power went out at 7:45 and just came back on so I missed the end of Survivor and all of Idol. I cannot believe it was Chris R. & Stephanie with Stephanie gone!

Darn power company!

well, this proves that it's not a singing competition, it's a popularity competition, or a howard stern "let's vote for the worst" competition !! If idol doesn't change the voting rules or ways they recieve votes, people will quit watching it. The fact that some of those awful guys (well, not awful, just average) are still there, & stephanie was voted off, is proof it's not a singing competition

Shock was my reaction when I tuned in the last 5 mins of Idol and see Stephanie and Chris standing there. Now Chris I have no problem with, but Steph...that's just wrong!Sanjaya,Phil,Gina and Haley deserved to go before her as did Chris R.! This format of voting is so,so wrong!! They need to take some of the power OUT of the hands of America. I think I am so done with this show. It would serve them right if that terrible SAnjaya won the whole thing!!

Well, as much as we hate it, it is AMERICAN Idol. They let the public vote for their favorite for a reason. They figure the one(s) with the most votes will be the biggest record seller(s). I don't necessarily agree with it, but I'm not one of the producers...

And no matter what, I do enjoy watching every week. I've bought 3 Idol CD's so far and only one was by a winner!

I am quickly losing my enthusiasm for AI. It is so sad to see really good people get kicked off early while really bad people linger on week after week. It's the same thing every season! The show really needs to change the format somewhat, shake things up a bit. I would be perfectly happy if the judges did the picking until it was down to the final two, and then let America decide. Because let's face it, America can be really fickle. Some people will keep voting for someone because they think they're cute and who cares if they can sing. I think it has been clear since day 1 that Melinda should win this year, yet sadly, I don't think she will. People seem to have a problem with her humbleness and think its an act. Well guess what people, there are still a few genuinely humble people in the world who don't think the universe revolves around them. Whew, glad I got that off my chest, lol.

It is worng to call it AMERICAN IDOL, when in fact it should be called, THOSE WHO HAVE TWO HOURS TO CALL REPEATEDLY IDOL... I vote once for each contestant I like and thats it, but I seriously think, why bother? Because there are teeny-boppers and Howard Stern Bafoons out there trumping all our votes. To say it is the Americans vote is way off base...

American Idol needs to change their voting rules or they will lose many viewers as the people who vote "normally" get fed up with their votes meaning nothing...

And for the voting (next week I think...) that will raise money for other countries...Umm you won't catch me voting for AMERICAN idol when it will go to countries that are NOT America...(yes, I know they are giving some to us, but C'mon...AMERICAN Idol should help AMERICA...only)...!!

The reason they don't want to change the voting rules is because they want to throw out huge numbers like 30 million votes. Meanwhile those 30 million votes are probably coming from about 3 million or less people!

I completely agree... Unfortunatly it is more important for Ryan to announce each week how many MILLIONS voted, rather than have a system that actually works. What he needs to say is "The Three Million Americans voted a bunch of times and now YOU the people are stuck with Sanjaya!!!"

It is all political and REALLY starting to annoy me!!
