Whatever Will I Watch Tonight? - Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Of course, I'll be watching the American Idol 6 results show at 9 PM EDT tonight, then posting a quick East Coast Update entry with that oh-so-vital information about who gets voted off. So, if you're in another time zone and just have got to know -- check back here about 9:30 PM EDT. Hitting the American Idol label at the bottom of this entry will bring you to the latest entry.

Ah, but there's a lot of good stuff on the tube tonight besides American Idol!

At 8 PM ET/PT, there are all new episodes of Jericho (CBS), Friday Night Lights (NBC), Bones (FOX), The Great American Dream Vote (ABC), and America's Next Top Model (CW).

At 9 PM ET/PT: A Criminal Minds repeat on CBS, a new Crossing Jordan episode on NBC, the American Idol results show followed by a new 'Til Death on FOX, new episodes of According to Jim and Rules of Engagement on ABC, and a repeat Pussycat Dolls on CW.

Come 10 PM ET/PT, my choice for watching and blogging is the new Lost episode on ABC. CBS has a repeat C.S.I.:NY while NBC has a new episode of Medium.

What will you be watching tonight?

Jackie -- How are you feeling? Has the dreaded virus got you in it's grips, or was it a false alarm? The latter I hope. Now that Jericho and FNL are both on at the same time Wed night I am relegated to TIvoing one and DVRing the other for the others in my house who are gone every wed night to see... Love FNL, not so love Jericho. I'd rather watch ANTM in that slot while FNL records.

But I will check out Idol tonight... I am crushed I missed the coaching show with the Fabulous Gwen Stefani.

Pussycat Dolls -- believe it or not had a compelling first ep -- and I've checked in on it. Dirt had it's final ep last night... does anyoen watch that?

Hi Jackie!

I have been traveling, and bit out of touch, so hope you are feeling much better! No fun to be sick!

Tonight is not my favorite night, but I will catch AI tonight. I missed everything last night, as I was on a plane, so just trying to get caught up on the last week's events through your blog! Sometimes it is so much better than watching the actual shows! :)

Sydney, I have watched Dirt, but I missed last night's episode. I will try to catch it sometime this week as it reruns on FX. I know it has not received good reviews, but I have actually liked the show! Sick and twisted, in a good way! What did you think of the season finale last night??

Looking forward to the NCAA finals ending, so we can move past the reruns!

HI dla -- at first I wasn't sure I was going to watch this ep - liek Entourage, the show is about the work world I just left for all the superificality and BS so I was really mixed on wanting to immerse myself in it... but I really like the photographer Don's character and that he narrates at the beginning, so I watched and within a few eps was good to continue.

The finale is good -- the reveal the stalker and it's a surprise. THey go a little long with Don struggling in the desert with being off his meds... but it shows his goodness inside is strong and he still can overcome his demons rather than affect his loyalty. ANd Jennifer Anison makes the debut here... I personally don't like her much, but they are trying to set her up as a rival mag editor and so if there is a next season it looks like she's set up to have a gig with her pal Courtney.

She's playing someone who I'd say is "creepy sweet."... and back biting while she does it. Funny, as she was quoted as decreibing Angelina that way when she first met her when Brad was starting rehearsals for Mr and Mrs Smith!

I'm interested to hear what you think of the show too.

Hi Sydney!

I caught the finale in rerun tonight ~ Man, I did not see that one coming as far as the stalker reveal!! They had me there! And the ending was good, too. Will be interesting to see if they come back for a second season. Have you heard anything?

I started watching because there was nothing on Tuesdays at 10pm that really moved me, but I have enjoyed the show. Like I said, it is twisted and dark!! But really enjoyable!

I would love to see the entire season again, but can't find it available online. I missed one or two eps, so there were parts that I would love to catch up on. Found overviews, recaps, etc on fxnetwork.com, but have not found the actual episodes available for viewing. Maybe fx will run a marathon or something.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Entourage!! I started to watch that due to its time slot on HBO, and got hooked! I am really looking forward to both Sopranos and Entourage returning soon. I have really missed SATC, and it is hard to find anything close on the major networks!!

Have you checked out Weeds on Showtime? That is another great show that has me hooked!

Please keep me posted if you find anything else that is great. We seem to have similar TV taste!

Talk soon!

Hey Dla --

Yes, we do share similar tastes! Sounds like you did a lot of research to find the eps...they must not do that as they want you to have to buy the dvd's maybe... though I bet it might come out to be rented at a Blockbuster, but not for many months. I didn't see the brother stalker coming either, but who better knows her schedule and how to find her without anyone questioning his presence?

I had been JONESing for SATC (you've heard that the girls are mending whatever the rift was and reconsidering the big SATC movie that had been planned after the show wrapped yes?)... but Ugly Betty scratches that itch!

Have you seen it? I imagine you must have but if not, UB is on same time as Survivor, so I watch that and tivo Betty on the other TV --- but it's set in NYC, has lots of fashion and color, great humor, interesting, developed characters you can care about, a lot of dish, and mentions of all the stars, designers, restaurants and clubs of the moment.

I completely love Vanessa Williams and her fabulous, fastidious, scheming, wildly yet impeccably dressed male (gay) assistant. They are a total pair: He's as physically funny as Jack on Will and Grace. And Vanessa, besides looking stunning and dressing beautifully all the time, is quite humorous and throws as many funny facial reactions askance as Carrie once did. The two of them have me cackling on the couch like the old days of SATC, so I reccomend that one.

Know Weeds is good but I have only seen an ep or 2. I have it On Demand and want someday to catch up. I have begun to watch Nip/Tuck in the last year and relly love that. I think you particiapted on that sidebar chat thing Jackie set up with me did you not? I also watch Rescue Me, which is very different, on F/X. Have you ever seen that?

I have begun to watch the new Showtime historical series called the Tudors since I miss Rome, and if you get Showtime, a surprisingly excellent new series that came out last season is Dexter. Stars the guy from Six Feet Under. I assume it will have a second season and that it will be coming on in a few months. It was GREAT, and from all the reviews telling you the storyline, you can't really tell that til you watch it.

I'm so glad to have company in some of these!

PS: what FX DOES do is that they replay all the former season's eps of a series about 2 months before the next new season will debutl, just to get people caught up on the storyline and invested in watching again. SO while that means you would have to wait for at least 6 months, if Dirt gets picked up again, which they would have decided long ago, then they will show the entire thing again before season two premieres.

I think Dirt is getting a bad rap...it's dark for sure, but far far better than a lot of programs on tv. I hope it gets renewed. I think Courtney Cox is great in her role, love love love Don as an actor and as a character...and the evil creepy sweet Jennifer role may be Courtney's homage to Angelina. At least Courtney's character is true to herself and doesn't pretend to be anything other that what she is...no fake...I'm you're best friend, etc. Let's do lunch.

Hi Sydney!

Wow! No fighting over the remote if we are watching TV!! ha

I got hooked on Ugly Betty when they ran a marathon during the holidays, and I watched the entire thing! :) I also find myself laughing out loud, which is always a good thing!!

I turned in my DVR a few months back, as the darn thing never worked right, so I am left with watching Survivor on Thursdays, and then watching UB online after the fact.

I own the entire run of SATC on DVD, and also catch reruns occasionally. I DID read that they may have worked through their hurdles, and the movie may be a go!! How exciting is that?

I have friends that love Nip / Tuck, so I purchased the first two seasons on DVD when they were on sale dirt cheap at Best Buy. I have not gotten started with that yet, but I am looking forward to it.

Dexter is on my list to catch On Demand. I have heard great things about Rescue Me, but have not seen it, and have read some interesting things about Tudors, as well!! Thanks so much for the great reviews! I will now make it a point to catch some of these sooner than later.

My line up tonight (Sunday) is TAR, Desperate, and Brothers & Sisters. I am hoping the last two are NOT reruns again, but have not yet checked to see. If they are, they get a huge @@ from me! ha

Anon 1:18 ~ I totally agree that it has gotten a bad rap! And did you guys think "the kiss" was a big deal?? After all the hype, I thought it was pretty much nothing to get all worked up about! :)

Talk soon!

They totally played up that kiss... I could not believe it was no different than a quick peck that any 2 people could exchange... I've given bigger kisses to an old aunt saying goodbye after Easter dinner. But hey, that's what a publicist is for!

Dla, I did the same -- went out to get the third season of Nip/Tuckm which for some reason goes for half the price of this last season, and got the first two for X-mas, so I don't have the 4th but I have not yet had any free time to sit down and watch them myself... mayeb when you start you should let me know so I can have a catch-up buddy to cackle over the details with!
