TV Newsy Bits - Friday, June 1, 2007

Yeah, I know this isn't my usual TV Newsy Bits graphic. It's the price of gas this morning in the town where I live in New Jersey. It's full serve as it's illegal to pump your own gas in this state. Oh, don't ask me why. I just live here; I'm not from here.

Supposedly we have some of the lowest prices in the nation due to a low state tax on gasoline. Don't worry -- we certainly pay more than enough for living here! What's the cost where you are?

Here are today's TV Newsy Bits:
  • Blog reader and commenter Paul Levinson has an interesting TV-themed blog Infinite Regress which has lots of intriguing Lost commentary. We have plenty of time before the new season (February 2008), so reading his posts on the show might keep our appetites whetted. For seven months... um, well.
  • Blog reader Sue out in California sent me a link to the latest on our man Yau-Man Chan from Survivor 14: Fiji. Sue rocks!
  • And, while I'm on blog reader submitted doings... blog reader JessiesGirl sent me this link to a BBC article about the latest brouhaha going on with the Australian Big Brother show. One of the houseguests on the show entered knowing her father was dying. The family had discussed it and decided that if he died while she was in the house, she wasn't to be told. Well, he died. Now the fans of the show are freaking out.
  • I hear the calls for a blog discussion post for So You Think You Can Dance. If I don't get one up tonight, I will do it tomorrow. I've been watching the show, but know I'll have trouble keeping the names straight if I write about it!
  • Ohhh... do you want to try to win a date with Survivor 13 winner Yul Kwon? Check it out!
  • Are you ready for some spice on this fall's Dancing With the Stars? Former Spice Girl Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown is slated to be on the show according to this Reality TV World article. Tori Spelling is also in talks with the producers.

Hi all!

$3.29 for premium at Costco this week in Henderson, NV...

And, if I were about 20 years younger and thought I could fit in with a tightly knit Korean family, I would love a date with Yul! lol

Wow! $2.89 for full service? I would love that. Here in Carson City, NV. I pay $3.23 for Reg. Unleaded and I have to do it myself... lol!

Here in Massachusetts I pay $3.16 for full service. The average around here, though, is $3.07.

In case I've forgotten lately, I want to tell Jackie how much I look forward to reading this blog every day!

$3.12 last night when I filled up in Raleigh, NC..norm around here is $3.09.

Barb...I agree with you, the Pirate Master looks like it may be pretty good, at least the first episode was...so I'll record it just in case. Besides, what else is on right now...can't stand the screaming Bingo contestants. I know they ask them to show enthusiasm for the cameras, but for the most part they come off looking like jerks.

I am north of Seattle and regular gas is around $3.39 - and we have to pump it ourselves. It's pretty sad that last week my kids and I said "Oh wow - gas went down to $3.39!" I mean - ugh - DOWN to $3.39!?!?! I remember when I first got my license and complained that the local mini-mart gas station had such high prices at 99¢!!! LOL

$3.09 for regular self-serve here outside of Philly, so we sometimes drive to Jersey just to fill up!

I really liked the Pirates show on Thursday! Louie reminded me so much of Rupert from Survivor - I've gotta root for him!

Augh, I totally forgot on Thursday and missed the pirate show. Will write it down to tune in next Thurs night, since most here think it was good enough.

$3.07 for reg in Houston, about $3.37 for Premium, which is what I have to use.

3.39 here in southern Ohio, down from 3.59 about a week ago.

Gas is $3.06 here around Cleveland, down from $3.60 just about a week ago!I just don't get the justification of the wild swing in prices. Mostly because of the holiday,I'm sure.

I remember when I first started driving and you could get three gallons of gas for a buck! And I drove a big ole gas guzzling Buick! Of course, that was over 40 years ago and we could be paying the prices they do in Europe for gas,so I guess we don't know when we have it good. But it still hurts!

Here is MO the gas is 2.94-2.99 self serve.

Jeez...I don't remember the last time it was under $3.00 here in central WI. Isn't that sad. I drive a Trailblazer 60 miles a day and get about 18 mpg so this is killing me! It's sad that I'll be excited when it gets under $3.00 again. Gas costs too darn much!

I think it's around $3.35 now.

$4.15 for premium in the San Francisco East Bay Area (San Ramon, CA) !!

Jackie -
I didn't know where else to email you but wanted to spread the word. ABC has a very cool website created for LOST. If you go to http://www.flyoceanicair.com/ and watch the video it will lead you to another website that has all the great LOST stuff that makes this show so incredible. Enjoy!
