TV Newsy Bits - Thursday, June 7, 2007

Jackie's TV Newsy Bits Whoa... lots of news out there today!

Unfortunately, no new news on the upcoming Big Brother 8 cast, twists, or air times...!

There's good news, bad news, and odd news.

Here we go:

  • Jericho fans can rejoice! Due to pressure from the fan community, CBS has ordered seven more episodes of the show after making the announcement that the show was cancelled. The New Jersey Star Ledger is just one of the sources for this story. So, it's true -- fan reaction actually mattered for once!

  • It appears that someone has broken the non-disclosure clause of their contract over in Hell's Kitchen. Online betting venues have stopped action on the show due to "suspicious patterns." This Reality TV World article has more, but be warned -- the spoiler for the possible/probable winner is within the article. If you don't want the show spoiled for you, don't read the article.

  • Nicole Ritchie was on The Late Show with David Letterman last night. He gave her a bit of the third degree (justifiably) about getting arrested, possible jail time down the road and more. What world does this girl live in, I ask? She thinks "everyone goes to jail." Say what? I have never been in jail and I'm twice her age. I even did some stupid things in my more youthful years and managed to not get arrested and not go to jail. AOL TV's Top Five has a clip of her appearance on the show. I'm still scratching my head over the girl.

  • While you're at the AOL Top Five clips page, check out the one for So You Think You Can Dance. Twitch was amazing!

  • In more So You Think You Can Dance news, here's Hok's MySpace page.

Thanks Jackie. I think anyone who wants to be on a reality show should really move to my little hometown. In the last year, we've had contestants from here on Survivor, The Apprentice, and now Hell's Kitchen. Before that the winner of the today show talent contest, Anthony Campbell, and the 1st runners up in the today show's wedding couple this year. Really strange....

I will be watching a new episode of Starter Wife on USA if its on tonight. I saw the show last week and it was pretty, cute, silly, and had lots of 2 dimensional characters-alot like those fluff novels people save to read on the beach. But thats OK cuz I'm a little burned out on real life right now and some light fluff along with SYTYCD is about all I can manage tonight.

Jericho hip hip hoorah. I went to jericholives and added my name to the petition.

I have never been arrested or to jail either. Guess the new gen thinks it is ok to GO TO JAIL!!!!

TY for the heads up on H Kitchen will not go there but I have a feeling it may show up elsewhere.

CSI tonight is when Grissom comes back so I think I will watch that again and tape Starter Wives.

lili -- totally agree with you about Starter Wives. It had a Lifetime movie of the week kind of feel to it for me. I just love Debra Messing, so I'm gonna stick with it as long as I can!

I guess all the fans kept delivering nuts to the Jericho office (which has meaning for those who watched it). I wish that the fans of Rome, who protested somewhat on various websites for it's early cancellation, had done something like that.

I watched Pirate Masters tonight. Missed last week, but was hopeful due to some of the comments here. Didn't exactly float my boat, nyuk nyuk.

Delee-- Yes seems the new way to get back in the news is to go to jail, enter rehab or put out a sex tape. Interesting how Kim Kardashian was being mentioned as a 15 minutes of fame gal and SUDDENLY, she is back in the news because a sex tape of hers surfaced... and then she was on the red carpet giving sound bytes again.

The one I think was really a sham was the guy who played Eva Longoria's character's gardener/sex toy on Desperate housewives. Jesse. We hear nothing in the press of him (or any troubles) for months after his character is no longer a regular, and he is not doing broadway or films or other shows. Suddenly, he's entering rehab, with all the attendant press. He's mentioned for this in the press for several weeks. While the vast majority of those in rehab are there legitimately, and I applaud them for their efforts, ones like that hint that these may be the press stunt du jour.

I related to your statement Jackie... Thank god I didn't have photographers around me 24/7 when I was Lindsay Lohan's age. Oy, I'm sure I made some mistakes I'm glad weren't blasted all over the globe within hours. But Paris is old enough to know better.

Maybe tomorrow AM when the court decides whether or not twinkie girl Paris should go back to jail they should instead sentence her to 40 days in the BB house. Having to sleep in a room with people who snore, having to eat oatmeal or PBJ for a week, having to dive into vats of slime and fish entrails, having to hang with common folk... And then when she gets out having to read every single comment on every single blog people's low opinion of her...

Jenny, I lived in Stafford (82-85), daughter was born in Fredericksburg. We lived near the high school when that area was country. Small world.

Just shows ya that $$$ can buy ya anything. For once I agree with Sharpton, never thought that would happen. Send her back, no freebies.

I am disappointed with Pirate M also, a great premise watered down. Doubt this show can be saved. Swab the decks, gripe about the Capt...etc etc and a weak challenge then the vote off. John was the only eye-candy and he was voted off 1st week and I am not sure why.

Just heard on Good Morning America that Isaiah Washington was fired from Gray.s Anatomy. They gave no reason. Thought all that gay word stuff was settled and done with since he'd been doing public service announcements and all. I was really surprised to hear it. Wonder if that Imus episode had something to do with it. ...... Can't wait to hear what happens to Ms Above-It-All today.

sydney - LOL, no I'm more of a reality watcher, not a doer :)

delee - wow, yes small world. You'd be pressed to find any of the "country" life here anymore.

I agree with most of the negative comments about Pirate Master. I'm just trying to hang in there until BB comes.

Read Isiah W's contract was not renewed. We shall see.

Can you believe Paris wanted to talk to the court over the phone? The nerve of these types of people. I say she will be back in jail by evening. She has a no nonsense judge.

Please send me to jail and then let me serve my sentence in my mansion.
OH PLEASE!!!!

Im glad to see Paris Hilton is back in jail. If it would have been any one of us average joe's we would probably be serving a year or so in jail for the multiple driving violations she had. It is amazing to see how priviliged these Hollywood-ites think they all are. I heard somewhere, that her doctor said she mentally was unable to handle jail.... @@ R u kidding me?? Like who could handle jail with ease??? I've never been and *Knock on Wood* hope I never do. The thought freaks me out. So why does this allow her to have a condition worthy of not being there? If that was an actual medical condition, then every man and woman would never be incarcerated.

Hopefully this "all" sends a wake-up call to all the self absorbed, obnoxious starlets of today. :)

E!NEWS reported that she screamed in court when the Judge sentenced her to do the full sentence and cried for her Mom. Don't think mommy and daddy will get her out of this mess that she got herself into. I have zereo sympathy for the spoiled brat. The same report also had a female friend saying her illness was claustophobia. OMG!
