Is she resigned to the fact that while she's likely to go on the block this week, she's not likely to be the target for eviction? Why not the target? Well, she still has four weeks to go before she can compete in a HOH comp. Right now she's just a vote and a possible POV contender.
Here are the late night happenings as we head towards dawn on Friday in that Big Brother House of Mismatched Socks:
- The HG had a Chinese food feast and a good time was had by all. Well, a subdued time was had by Amber.
- The fortune cookies were interesting. Jessica will meet a new friend. Jameka will be soon crossing warm waters for a fun vacation (sequester?). Dick will impress others with his artistic side. Daniele has to focus on her long term goal. Zach will be irresistible with his natural charm. Eric should slow down to smell the roses. Amber has good news on the way. (Sure, she does.) Jen is inclined to come up with unconventional solutions.
- In Daniele's HOH stuff, she didn't receive any photos of her boyfriend Kris. Hmmm...
- Amber told Daniele she's never talked bad about her. (I'd say iffy on that one -- talked bad about Daniele and Evel as a team a lot.)
- Evel Dick wants to plan a strategy ahead of time to work their way into the finals, but Daniele doesn't want to think that far ahead and wants to enjoy her upcoming birthday.
- Eric dressed up in a dress of Jessica's.
- Amber told everyone that she understands they voted the way they felt they had to -- she's not mad and just needs a few days. (How about until next Thursday?)
- At one point, Jameka and Amber commiserated by themselves. Although they plan to put on a good front, they're very upset about the Dustin eviction.
- Amber is sure that Daniele, Dick, Eric, and Jessica have a deal to go to the final four and that she and Jameka just won't have the votes to get that far.
- Amber is pretty bitter over things and is keeping apart from the others -- even when she's with them, she's very quiet.
- Jameka is putting on her game face and mingling.
- Right now all but Amber and Zach are hanging out small-talking about bathroom habits, television shows and such. Zach usually turns in a bit earlier.
- For all I know, Amber may be crying in bed.

I just love how Amber said to Jam. that they had it all worked out and then this happened (Dustin evicted). The Nerd Herd needed to be broken up. It was priceless looking at Dustins expression when he was evicted.
Agreed. I wish they would have kept the camera on his face for a bit longer, it was just a split second. Did you notice that he only hugged a couple of people? hahahahahahaahahaha

Despite not being able to win HOH, perhaps she has forgotten about Kail, plus Most who have viewed previous BB should be aware; at any time during a POV challenge could a pass be included, therefore any is not always a guarantee, I'd evict her just for her actually believing she'd be safe. I don't understand this group, why hasn't any of these people bothered to realize that they need to break up that alliance of Dick and Danielle. There's no way I would let those two go to the finals together. You guys might think he's so great, but I think he is a disgusting human being. Dustin wasn't half as arrogant as Dick is,his "honesty " is honesty it's down right meaness. These are the dumbest group of hgs to ever play the game.
I would think Amber wants to be voted out so she can hang out with Dustin in sequestor.

So glad Eric finally caught on to what America wanted and used it in his game play instead of fighting it. Like I said before, he has an advantage with AP, he just had to use it to his advantage.
IMO, once the 2 slackers are gone, the last six can battle it out, and I feel anyone of them would be deserving.

Just watched Dustin on The Early Show and he laughed at his expression when he got the word!LMAO and Julie did NOT say a word to him about Eric being the AP. I don't have the time to check out the rest of the interview on CBS,but would bet that they will not out him to those in sequester.
Oh,and the extra scene they always show,well it was Dustin smacking Amber in the face with the tether ball,and I'm not talking any love tap either. He hit her hard right in the mouth!! And...she didn't cry!!! But she had to moan about it in the DR. Too funny and somehow....fitting! Buh bye,Amber!
Dick thinks he pulled off the greatest comeback in BB history, but if it was not for america wanting Dustin gone, he would be gone. So he is still there not because he is such a good player, but because more people hate gay, arrogant men than rude, nasty, abusive, and deadbeat dad men. Jameka probably needs to swallow her pride and make amends with Zach and the two of them pull in Jen or they will be the next three t go.
i agree with anom. who can't understand why d&d are still in the game. yes you can argue that they are fiercely playing the game....but there needs to be SOME sense of human decency...look at the difference between janelles games in bb6-7 and dicks. janelle proves you can play fierce and maintain both personal respect and respect of others. dicks behavior is nothing short of crude and classless. to think anyone would find this ok...just sad. whatever happened to being proud of character?
I can agree with some of what ya'll are saying, but think of it this way....If you were in there, who would you want to go to the final 2 with? I've even convinced my husband that your chances against Dick would be better than anyone else in the house. No one will vote for him to win sinply because of the way he's acted throughout all of this. You'd be a shoe win in the end against E.D.

If Amber and Jameka had skills at this game they'd be trying to form an alliance of four to combat the Eric/Jessica/D&D alliance. But they just don't have it in them.

But here is my main comment: y'all know that music they play as the houseguests are casting their votes to evict someone? I'd describe it as kind of honkey-tonk film noir-ish. Well, I want it to be playing in the background wherever I go. I love it!

I agree (as of 9:48 am CST) with Sheree's list Except I would leave Dick in longer than Daniele. I would place her just above Amber in leaving. That is a personal and not game playing decision. Although, the way she (Dan) wins comps when needed she is a force and the hgs need to recognize that. I am wavering on whether I would prefer Jessica or Zach to win it all. Funny, I just realized I wasn't making a list to win, but starting with my least favorite and working up. That pretty much illustrates how I feel about hg and BB this season. I wish the BB producers had hired a fan/commenter from blogs to represent America in the planning stage...rather than in the voting part. The ideas here are far superior to what actually goes on in the house. Sue
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Daniele's boyfriend dumped her. Remember when she was talking about a possible America's choice phone call? Who did she want a call from - Nick not Kris. If that doesn't tell him something I don't know what will. Not to mention how horribly upset she was by Nick's elimination.

My take on whether Dustin or any sequestered hg is told about Eric as AP...even if they aren't told by Julie at the time of eviction or on the morning show...when they go on Housecalls, what's to stop one of the callers telling them. I'm sure they monitor the calls somewhat, but that would be hard to control. How can we find out?
brooks, he is such a good father that he had not talked to her for 6 years (Dani words). And is it as rude as attacking someones religion and sexualality? He attacked someones parental skills as i did his, so isnt he just as rude? He has gone way to far in his attacks, just uncalled for. He wants to be part of chill town, but they were never like this. At least they were amusing. I liked ED in the first few shows and rooted for him in his quest with Dani but now i see why she was estranged from him.
If he is left in the game til the end, whoever he is left with does have a better chance at winning though.
I hope Amber is evicted next week. It would be good for her mental health to spend some time in sequester with just Dustin and not have to deal with the stress of the game.Someplace warm and relaxing will help renew her mind and soul. She needs to re-group before she goes back to her life as a mother.
Kristy-I totally agree about Dick. His behavior is appalling and DOES NOT deserve to win. It will be interesting to watch him this week since he pulled off one of the biggest backdoor in BB history. Maybe Dani can convince him to mellow out.
I thought each HG filled out a request of what they would like for their HOH room. That would mean that perhaps Dani didn't ask for anything from Kris but rather Nick. She received a letter from him and he talks alot about "a road trip and relocating".
brooks--I have to disagree about Dick being a fantastic dad. Although he may be making real efforts toward that now for most of Dani's life he was far from it. If he had been a good dad she and her brother would not have been raised by his mother. All that being said he does appear to have changed his life and doing all he can to establish a good relationship again. I hope for both of them it works. Life is too short to waste time holding a grudge--especially with someone as important as a parent.
Gotta go--swimming classes for the grandkids. Will do my list of finishers later.

Over the weeks of watching the show and ShoToo it sounded to me like Dani was the one who didn't speak to Dick for years, it was her choice, not his. We also don't know the circumstances of Dani being raised my her grandmother. Good parents sometimes do what is best for the child and maybe that was the best unselfish decision he could have made at the time.
Regarding the letters for the HOH, I remember a conversation between D&D the last time one of them was HOH, wondering & speculating who the letter might be from. They may be able to offer a list of people they'd like to hear from but it appears they have no control over it.
I forgive a lot of the bad things said to Dick. After all, they all had to put with his bullying for so long that it they are all just trying to fight him at his own game (saying very hurtful things). I forgive Dustin calling him a dead-beat dad, I forgive the Eric incest comments, I forgive Jameka saying his mom is a bitch, etc. How can you say that what Eric, Jameka, etc said to Dick was so bad, and just ignore the TERRIBLE things Dick said to each of them?

This is a game. Everyone is so quick to say what a deadbeat dad ED is. Who are we to say that? We only know what the producers show. I think he should be given kudos for trying to mend some of the bridges that have been burned. Father of the Year...NO. But give the guy a break. He hasn't been any more rude than some past contestants and even some that are there now.
Maybe it's just bitterness on the viewers part that ED is still there. Whatever.

Dani stated that she was raised by ED's mother or her grandmother!!! ED is close with Vincent, but I know from what I am going thru that kids (young adults) have their own minds and circumstances may make them back away. My own son and daughter are closer to me than their Dad. So do not judge too harshly. He is trying now! Little things can be blown up and cause strife!

My opinon on Dick as a father is that he is the best dad in the house. I think he is assuming the HOH is a joint opportunity and I don't think Daniele sees it that way, so we may see some friction. I am sketical about their estrangement. There is too little said about it, and I know that it is personal and that could be it...but that also is a good way to hide it. They are both (D & D) expert game players. The number of years has varied in various conversations and Dick himself talked about how they almost made it on BB for the twin/Nak/Cowboy year. I don't know if they applied together or were approached. But it is hinky to me, so I won't give them any extra props for mending fences. If it is true, then good for them both. If it isn't, then they are reviving Jonny Fairplay's grandmother. Dick did have a softer look last night. Is he letting the color go out of his hair? Sue

I have more of a problem with Amber and Jameka's actions because they claim to be such big Christians, but their actions show otherwise. Dick isn't claiming to be holier than thou. And Dick had strategic reasons for his actions, doing it to everyone's faces and not behind their backs.

I was away for start of this year's BB so am having a hard time warming up to any of this year's hampsters...lots of talk about Dick's parenting skills or lack thereof...what about Daniele's mom...dead or alive...and if alive why didn't she raise Daniele. Read that D & D came close to getting on BB the year of Nakomis...so they can't have been out of touch for six years. He would be a difficult father for sure...but does seem to care a lot about her. Does anybody know why she was raised by paternal grandparents...or why not maternal grandparents, if grandparents it had to be?

I would like to think that Dustin being gay had nothing to do with America wanting him gone, but some of the things ED said to people were just down right....well, EVIL. Homophobic, anti christian and recovering addict statments. I know this is a game but you should have some line that you just wont cross. I am not saying he should be like Kaysur, who i think tried to play with too much integrity and class and it cost him twice. Like i said earlier i liked him in the begining, i liked his strategy of intimidating HG, but he went to far.
Hope Dick chills out now that Daniele is HOH and backs off the name calling and baiting...maybe gamesmanship, but not pleasant to watch..a good player uses strategy rather than bullying. And if he is trying to impress his daughter he needs to act like an adult and a parent...not a bad boy. I think he's your classic Peter Pan Syndrome kind of guy...wants to be young forever. Very hard...my dad thought he was still a "kid" at 86!
Eventually you just accept your parents for the flawed people we all are. Daniele has a birthday coming up...21 - official adult. Maybe she can show him how it's done.
Regarding Dustin's being gay and his eviction: I can't see it had anything to do with his eviction and one reason is that I read comments about those who wanted Dustin out actually wishing Joe had stayed. Since Joe also is gay that would seem to say that it was Dustin's actions and personality that got him on their bad list. This house seems to be as asexual as any I can remember. Even the first year had hgs lusting after each other. I wonder if the producers planned it that way this year? Sue
I voted over and over for Dustin to be evicted and it had NOTHING to do with his being gay...the gays on BB are usually lots of fun and liven up the show. I voted for him because he was annoying. I think most people felt that way...I guess there are some people out there who are still homophobic...but I don't come across many...actually I haven't come across anyone in years now.
Voted now for Amber...sick of the water works and her thinking God cares about what happens to people on a reality show in the USA...hey Amber...let's hope He's busy listening to people praying to end the carnage in Iraq and praying to keep our country safe from terrorists.

Since gay people in the BB house seems to be the topic of discussion today I must comment about Eric. Now he is 27, is in good health, and appears to have all "parts" of his anatomy in good working condition(according to the convo about his streaking). He have been in the house for over 40 days... if he is NOT gay then he has more willpower than any man I know....He cuddles with Jess every night(while she is wearing either a bikini or tank top and short shorts), she lays in bed with him and talks about her boobs and his response is "Oh yeah, well anyway I think we need to consider evicting Dustin"??? To my knowledge they haven't even shared a REAL kiss. I hope that he is not gay BUT
ONLY because I would like to see them together as a couple. Maybe he is truly a virtuous man and is being respectful of Jess

I would like to see there come a point where Eric will be given a choice about saving himself(or perhaps Jess) by telling the HG that he is the AP.

Didn't Daniele's brother state on one of the early segments that Daniele owed Dick money and she didn't pay it back and Dick "didn't handle that very well'. If the estrangement is real, then Dick may have had good reasons. I think it is very easy to automatically think Daniele was wronged by Dick, when it might have been just the opposite. Although I can believe that Dick might not have 'handled it well' I know it doesn't matter, but in a game where every tiny detail comes out about the hgs, then why is this one thing left alone and yet Dick's parenting skills (or lack thereof) are a topic. One word off topic as way of explanation for my crankiness (when I am usually so cheerful and optimistic ), it is hot hot hot today and not in a Paris Hilton way. Sue
It's easy to be a good dad when you know cameras are watching and $500,000 is at stake. Let's check in with Dick in a year and see how it's going after tje show is over and neither is forced to spend time with each other unless they WANT to.
Does anyone remember the exact details of Eric's deal with Dick? I know they promised not to evict eachother & try to get to the F4 together, but did they also agree to all vote the same or was it just an agreement of noms? Just thinking of how D&D want Jen gone & how Eric is now pushing for an Amber eviction(most likely Americas vote), things may turn against him again if he has to vote Amber & D&D want him to vote Jen(if she is on the block that is). Just thinking ahead... :)
Also, I died laughing last night when Amber was telling Jameka about her fortune from her cookie saying something good for her & she figured it meant that America loves her & she'll be Americas Choice vote. She also told Daniele she didn't bad mouth her (maybe not as much as some, but she did).
No, Dick MAY not have pulled off this incredible turn-a-round without Eric being AP, but imagine his surprise when he realizes that he is in an alliance with most of America. You can't really take the credit away from any of the HG's & the events of the house, because everything that has happened is a direct result of what Eric has done (via America votes). If he wasn't the AP, the game would have been a different game with different turns awhile ago. So you HAVE TO give credit where credit is due & what Dick managed to do was amazing. Eric could have easily had his vote pawned off as either Zach's or Jen's & made the votes come to a tie & let Jess vote out Dick. Dick made him see the alternatives in the game.If we are going to take away the credit Dick deserves then we may as well take it away from everyone, because this game has been heavily influenced by the Producers. IMO, Dick,Daniele,Eric & Jen are the samrtest players in the game and think they have the best chances of going to the end.
i really hope some miracle happens and Jameka gets try for HOH. She is the only one that can give it back to ED as well as gives it, plus i enjoy looking at her (J-lo aint got nothin on her), when she does smile it lights up the whole room.

kitch06 - You are absolutely right. The "bring someone back" question came up a few posts back and my response was this.
They can't bring back Nick, Kail, or Joe because all have been interviewed by sources other than BB since their eviction. We know they're not in sequester somewhere. I don't know where Carol or Mike are, but why would they arbitrarily pick one of those two to come back. Don't you think that we would have found out if either of them never made it home after being evicted from the BB house. I really don't see them bringing anyone back unless it's one of the HG's from sequester (starting with Dustin).

Nana,I am thinking that Eric's actions w/Jess are very suspect too. Did you notice when she took off her top and she noticed him ogling her boobs and she said "these are boobs,Eric" and he changed the subject? Then she made obvious overtures to him,stating it was "hot" in there and giving him "the eye" and all he could do is get up and run out of the room when she suggested going to "sleep". Now either he is gay or doesn't know what he is yet.But some male who has a list of guys he "would" "DO" if he was gay,well that has taken some thought and I'd venture a guess that most hetero males don't take the time to make THAT kind of a list. Does it really matter what Dick and Eric's "deal" was? I don't expect either one of them to honor it. The only rock solid alliance in that house is Dick and Daniele. Maybe just maybe Amber will take a look at the videotape and change her name and get some therapy...and it might be a good idea if anyone from child services is watching this show from her area to pop in for a housecall from time to time to make sure that pour child hasn't drowned.
Regarding Danielle. I stated in a post earlier this week that you know nothing of her life outside the bb house.
First of all, she is still very young. Her boyfriend,not a fiance or a husband was living with her. She was working to support both of them because he doesn't work. Now he is moving back in with his mom, and Dani is left trying to figure what to do. He may have looked "nice"..but looks can be VERY deceiving. YOu don't know how he treated her, how their relationship truly was. I'd say if she were truly happy, Nick wouldn't even be a consideration in her eyes.
She herself said on the show that when she gets out of the bb house, she is taking a month off, including away from Kris, to do a lot of thinking.
She and Nick did nothing but flirt. I don't know why everyone was down on Nick so much. He did nothing but flirt with her. Yes, he went in planning on flirting with all the females. But he's crazy about Dani. Erik also went in to flirt with all the females, and yet he's focused on Jess. And from what I've read, he's living with a woman outside the house. So why are people downing Nick & Dani, but not Erik and Jess?
Expect the unexpected...I think if they were going to bring someone into the house they could bring in an unknown person...maybe enemies of some of the other guests??....could happen...they could have a sequester for them and it could be twist in the game.
I voted for Dustin to leave because of his arrogance. He really felt he was "queen" of the house. Even he admitted he has a problem with arrogance! I did NOT vote him off because he was gay, nor did probably anyone else, or wouldn't we have all voted for Erik to evict him and Joe right off the bat?

I took the comment from Anon 9:21 about.... more people hate gay, arrogant men than rude, nasty, abusive, deadbeat dad men... as just a description of Dustin & ED, nothing more. I don't think people voted for Dusin to go just because he's gay but because of his arrogance.
I liked Dustin until his arrogance started showing the week he was HOH. But I'd rather put up with arrogance than verbal abuse. It seems like a lot of people seem to think of ED's verbal rants as just being "honest". When did being in your face verbal abuse become being honest? "You" can be honest without all the abuse. I understand why ED was being so mean this week was to get the HGs so mad at him that they'd vote him out instead of Danielle, but I think he could of done more things like the waking up Dustin with the banging pots & gotten the same results. And since he won the POV & took Danielle off the block, he ended up not needing to do it in the first place. I think ED really likes to verbally abuse people, he's been doing it from the beginning, starting with Jen.
I don't like people that act like ED & I don't like watching it, either. But I seem to be in the minority on that! :)

I'm not reading anything sinister into Eric's relationship with Jessica mainly because we don't know much about him; does he have a girlfriend? A fiancee? A realization that this is an unreal situation (particularly because "America's Player" means that he could be romancing her one week and voting her out the next) and he doesn't want to start something on the inside that will collapse and make them both unhappy? For all we know, after each of those cuddle sessions he heads for the toilet and "is master of his domain." Repeatedly.
Why oh Why have the feeds been blocked for such a long time. The food comp must have a luxary comp to go along with it......Did BB do like the Birthday girl asked....
On another note I think that Jen has to go this week..She needs to be nominated...I am not sure the back door will work this time....
Has anyone noticed that the POV has been used every week this year.....It hasn't been like this since season 6....
Either I wasn't paying close enough attention or I have no room left in my memory bank because I can't recall if AP votes were always evicted? Sue
anon 3:54pm - You're right, we don't know what Daniele's relationship was with her boyfriend, but we do know this:
1) She kissed Nick very deeply. We could hear the smoochy sounds on TV.
2) She did say she's taking a month off, but part of her plan during that month is to travel to MN to see Nick and his family.
3) Her HOH letter last night was from Nick, not Kris, and she sat there and giggled about it like a 15yr old.
I think she's very immature and really not old enough to be in a serious relationship with anyone (nobody at that age is in my opinion), but she is an adult and needs to take responsibility for her actions.

I totally disagree.. Dustin was evicted cause his tacky sense of entitlement got the best of him. It had nothing to do with * your * silly bias description, its * your * opinion ~ you dont speak for all of America, btw maybe you should pay closer attention..< Danielle has already forgotten exactly how many years she hasn't spoken to her Dad, Jameka asked Danielle the other day, how long its been since she last spoke with Dick, this is the 2nd time Danielle changed amount of years.. I noticed again Danielle had a different timeframe from what she had originally had given.... also this past Sat during his one on one chat's with America Dick said he & Danielle almost entered BB house two years ago, he gave impression they'd been speaking, they probably had a fallout over who knows what but it also looks like.. it really wasn't that long ago, instead to me looks like a recent fallout, could be why they agreed to this years BB.

That was my question on Housecalls but Gretchen didn't read it correctly. I had asked:
"Dustin, what was the best moment for you in the house and the worst moment(excluding being evicted)?"
When Gretchen read it she left out the "excluding being evicted." Then she almost didn't give Dustin an opportunity to answer my question once they came back from commercial break but Dustin cut in and said he hadn't answered my question yet. - Thank you Dustin.
I have been a fan of Housecalls and BB since the beginning of both programs anf it was neat to have one of my questions read.

I am wondering how long BB is going to poll America for Eric's HG to nominate or evict? It would seem that at some point this particular poll would stop because it gives Eric an unfair advantage over the other HG's. After all, what is the possibility of America voting to nominate Eric? Would it fall to second choice?
If Eric makes it to the final four, will he still be given tasks? Can he really win BB? If so, he not only gets the $500,000 but all that "behind the scenes" money? I think this may present a problem toward the end of this game.
P.S. I, TOO, LOVED LAST NIGHTS SHOW. DUSTIN WAS SO DARN SURE DICK WAS GOING HOME AND HE WAS SAFE. HA HA HA ... HIS BUBBLE GOT BUSTED!!

I dont't condone cheating, but in Daniele's defense, I have to say that we don't know the circumstances in their relationship. It is not as if Daniele was at work and met some guy that she really connected with and then was able to go home and tell her boyfriend that she needed "a break". She is stuck in a house/game & cannot relay her feeling or thoughts to her boyfriend. I agree they shouldn't have kissed, but not knowing her boyfriend or their relationship, I just cannot judge her for that. Just like I cannot judge Amber's parenting skills on her acts within the game.
