'Big Brother 8' - TV Squad Article on Blocked Press for BB Evictees
My latest article -- about BB8 blocking exit interviews starting with Amber -- is up on TV Squad.
Did you read the New York Times Kid Nation article that was linked in the EW article. Very interesting. I still don't know if I'm gonna watch that show. I have mixed feelings...
ORKMommy - I'll be covering the reviews of Kid Nation for TV Squad. Alas, I was at work and planned to write about the controversy when I got home after seeing that article a few days back and another writer at TVS wrote it up before I could do it. (Grr.) But I'll be their Kid Nation person -- so I'll watch! (No way am I going to memorize 40 kid names, though!)

I'm with you, Orkmommy. I have mixed feelings about that show but most of them are uncomfortable ones. Maybe I read Lord of the Fliestoo many times, but.......
Jackie - So, I know you got the gig because of the BB live feeds but now what? Did they assign you to Kid Nation or did you volunteer? Will they be assigning you in the future? It would totally suck if they gave you some lame show like Flava of Love or (God forbid!) Rock of Love!
ORKMommy - They don't really assign us -- they won't make us review a show we don't have any interest in. I saw no one had spoken for Kid Nation and I think the concept is intriguing and the controversy will keep me in articles.
I'll also be doing the Survivor reviews for them this season (with other Survivor stuff going on here because I want to keep that show content a part of this blog, too).
The reviews of shows are spoken for by folks, but we can also write other things. For example, when I have some time to breathe over the holiday weekend, I plan to work on an article about reality show villains. :-)
Reality show villains... that could be an entire book. I am looking forward to that one. Enjoy the weekend everyone. I was off all summer so I go back to work on Wednesday. (school bells ring)

It sounds like Dani has become Zach new BF. What a fool he is to not see through her. She could hardly give him the time of day and now they are sharing a bed(literally)!!! She's sharpening the knife and it's going to land right between Zach's shoulder blades on Thurs.!!
Do you think the POV will be sometime tonight?? Janelle said that on Housecalls but the HG say it's tomorrow. After the grueling HOH this will probably be Q & A.--if Janelle is hosting maybe it will be about past competitors(tailor-made for Eric) or the scrambled faces/body parts--lord knows we've seen enough of those!!
BTW Steff--great comp ideas for Seniors edition!! ROTF wetting myself!!

I don't want to get an argument going here but I do feel I should be able to clarify a couple things that may have been taken the wrong way. tom's, in your 6:03pm comment on 8/31, if you were referring to my post with your remarks about clean or unclean races, let me clarify, that example was used because a LOT of people in my area hate Mexicans. THIER belief, NOT MINE, is that they are nasty,dirty, don't bathe, and that they start fights all the time etc. They don't even know any Mexicans personally, it's just that they ASSUME. In my post, I was defending Mexicans because while there may be SOME that are unclean,and may start fights, etc, I DO personally know some that are very clean, and take very good care of themselves and who are also very well behaved. I didn't down any race in my post, nor in my actual life. I know that whether we are black, white, Mexcian, Italian, catholic, baptist, non believers, whatever...we ALL have some in our "group" that are not the best representatives for our group and some people take it upon themselves to ASSUME that the entire race,or "group" or whatever, is the same. BUT, one should NOT judge the whole group by a handful. Maybe you weren't referring to my post but I wanted to clarify what I wrote. Your comment was a bit confusing because it had lines from another post and a line that I had written in mine. Also to clarify, for those that think all anon's are the ones "name calling", Deanna had made a comment (2:40PM) that I felt was being attacked by Jingles at 4:07PM. In my posts at 4:35 & 4:43, (both anon's) I was trying to clarify what I felt Deanna was trying to say that caused Jingles to attack her. And then both Jingles and Sasha attacked me too because some of us don't get all bent out of shape like the two of them obviously do. Then Teri in Ohio was attacked by Jingles too because she also doesn't get all bent out of shape for things someone else says. Seems Sasha and Jingles feel we should all agree with them in what is offensive and what isn't. And if we disagree, they want to attack us. Seems some people could use some anger management counseling. And if some people are that upset about the "offensive" language, the nudity, the "offensive" remarks by one or more houseguests, then maybe BB isn't the show these people should be watching. You should re-read your own posts: 12:27AM. You attack. You get bent out of shape. You get very angry. You ASSUME a lot of things. You dish out criticism of other posters often and then get riled when it is given to you. We all criticise the HGs. You seem to have this penchant for taking EVERYTHING personally. Well, you should stop. You make it very unpleasant for a lot of people.
The more I think about it the more I like the idea of a BBSeniors. More Comp ideas: HG's leave thier teeth in the jar, give them a food comp.Jello, banana, apple, corn on the cob, steak and beef jerky, elimination by not being able to eat the food.
Build a maze in the BY, first one gets thru it wins.
Of course one of the first comps, when the house is full, could be very simple, name the other HG's. Might be a good first HOH comp.

Where did I get angry or bent out of shape as you ASSUME? When have I ever bashed another poster for saying anything about any of the houseguests? I've only posted 4 times (counting this one) on this board, twice as anon and these last two with my name. The only 2 people I said anything about was the two posters that attacked, Deanna, Teri in Oh.and myself. Attacked because we don't take offense to what a houseguest says like these other two posters obviously do. I have never said a thing about anyone speaking thier opinions about a houseguest. In my last post, I was referring to those posters who take offense to every little thing that goes on in the house. It is a game. And most of us know that. We can complain or cirticize a houseguest but then move on happily with our lives. Some people seem to want to bash EVERYTHING about BB and I'm just saying if THOSE that do, get THAT upset about EVERY person or EVERYTHING in the house, then maybe they shouldn't be watching. The rest of us may not like something that a houseguest does or says but we don't get all bent out of shape about it like a few have. And, if a viewer finds EVERY person & EVERY thing, offensive in the BB house EVERY day, then why watch? Alice

No, you would have to put them all in a big pile and sort them out by color and size and use. If you had a big enough pile it would take forever. Or they could look for one specific pill in a big pile. Or maybe they could name that pill. My mom can name all of her pills and sort them out quickly. She would win hands down at that one.
drceline, good advice. I generally don't even post, but did so tonight to try to defend another persons post. There were 3 of us that 2 other posters decided to attack and accuse of condoning and promoting anti-semitism just because we choose to take things much more lightly than these 2 "attackers" obviously do. That is a serious accusation and I wanted to set the record straight on that issue. 2 others may have misunderstood my comments. Especially anon 1:26am. Alice

Alice... Thanks for understanding where I was coming from in my post that was attacked and defending it... I just don't see getting upset or offended by things the houseguests say or do. It is a game and I see no reason getting myself riled up over a HG's ignorance use of words.
First off I'd like to say that Jackie you're doing a wonderful job on reporting on BB8, but then you always do. I'm in awe of how impartial you are despite all the drama this season. I don't know if I could be as impartial since this particular season is full idiots.
