'Big Brother 8' - Live Feeds - The Last Evening in the House

Believe it or not, Daniele and Dick have actually made me smile on and off as they spend their last night in the house together. The BB voice has even been funny at times.

Here's what's been happening in the Big Brother House of No Longer Dueling Donatos:
  • Daniele misses seeing animals. Apparently she regularly goes to a pet store to see animals and has missed them while in the BB house.
  • She also misses her cellphone.
  • Daniele dyed Dick's hair -- nothing new, just fixed the red dye in it.
  • They talked about the competitions they enjoyed the most. Daniele liked the pasta one while Dick liked Slop Pong. Dick didn't like Butter Me Up because he was mad at what Jen said to him and got stuck on the pump.
  • Daniele liked the JanelleOVision comp, Dick liked the fact that Janelle was there.
  • They talked about the other houseguests ... again.
  • They mentioned how cold it's gotten and how recently they had the heat wave there.
  • BB stocked the storeroom for them so they could eat well.
  • Daniele's first words when she was a baby were "Hi Dad." Vincent had said it and she repeated it.
  • They wondered what made the air and what didn't.
  • They said the Hide and Seek Veto probably sounded better on paper than it worked out. It took the over six hours and it was hot.
  • They played cards, had ice cream and cake.
  • And, they actually enjoyed each other's company. Dick must be tickled pink. Daniele doesn't want him to go to bed -- wants him to stay up with her.

Hey Jackie, you're up late. I had to giggle, ty for editing the portion about what they think might have made the airwaves...aka TV.
I can't wait to see what makes it in the final show! Pity they only have an hour.

Jackie, I too was giggling as I watched Dick and Daniele tonight. They really are a funny pair. I also got the impression that Dick was never a deadbeat dad, since he seemed very adament(sic?) about people not having too many kids (just 2 or 3)and about dads not paying for their kids. I was touched when he told Daniele her first words... "Hi Dad!"

On another note, I think Sundays show should have been a blooper type of show with more unseen funny stuff and maybe trips & falls... I am glad they re-showed Dicks immatation of Amber "Cigars-Cigarettes-COCKtails!!!" That was a funny moment (yes, I saw the live-feeds of this day). Did they do this re-cap show before, because I cannot remember one?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to tonight and I'm also a bit sad to see my favorite show go... It's like reading a great book, getting to know the characters and then coming to the last page... I just want more! :)

I hope you're sleeping peacefully as we are commenting, Jackie, you were up late!
I'm glad they seem to be getting along as their time in the house winds down. Of course, that could change in a NY minute, but for now I'm glad Dick gets to enjoy being with her, and I'm glad to see some growth in Daniele. I'm sure there are some families who are (individually) better off estranged, but I like to think that the Donatos aren't one of them.
Me too, Deanna, it IS like a book I wish would never end. It also marks the end of summer, and I love my summers..BB and all.
I'm looking forward to seeing the fury of the jury and the AP reveal!

As I turned of Showtime last night it hit me that it would be the last time. I knew it was coming, but it still caught me off-guard.

Good analagy about a good book. Well, and INTERESTING book in any case. What a cast of characters! Psychologists will be working OT on this bunch.

But I WILL miss it.

Maybe Daniele is bi-polar. I've never seen anyone switch moods faster and as often as this girl.

I still hope Dick gets the money.

And again, thank you Jackie, for making this experience SO much more fun by sharing it with us.

Good Morning Everyone

I just wanted to tell everyone how much I enjoyed argueing with you this year. I also wanted to say Congratulations to all of you who's favorite player won this year, even though it wasn't mine. Oh well, maybe next year.

Jackie...great pic of Dick blowing the smoke ring... Also want to say my thank yous for another good year (of blog). I have never picked a winner yet, so why should this year be different.

It was a little different this year, because I kept going back and forth on who I was rooting for and sometimes not for any of them.

Dick deserves the win, even tho I disagreed with his strategy.

Can't wait to see if they introduce each hg/jurist individually. If they do, Amber may get her first inkling of what "America" thinks of her.

And can't wait to see their faces when Eric is revealed as AP.

Last but not least, thanks to everyone who commented this year. Really enjoyed the camaraderie. You too joe in ny...smile.

Thanks Jackie for the update.

It is nice to see them getting along.

It's also nice to see everyone wanting a follow up show: "The Donatos" on Showtime:) People accused me of kidding when I suggested that I needed to see how their story ended, but I was and still am dead serious.

I suppose, in a way, the lack of closure is true of all Reality TV characters (except Romber - I'm sick to death of them!), but it was especially poignant with D/D because of their father/daughter bond. With most reality relationships, you know they won't stay together until the final edit, and that they are mostly friends of convenience that will go their own ways after the wrap party. With D/D, they have a bond they can't so easily let go of, and the heart-wrenching scenes of them trying to connect...

Whatever else you may say about Dick, Danielle does humanize him. And, for those of you that think he is a total rage-a-holic, those scenes they replayed of her running out on him, turning away from him and his calmly begging her to talk to him...well, let's just say I would have been yelling at her myself! And he never did.

Thanks for a wonderful year! I'm so glad I found your blog last year. I'm a glutton for punishment because I have the feeds, Showtime and YOU!! I'm not sure if I will be able to get out of bed tomorrow...LOL..
You mentioned that the BB people were also amusing but no specifics. Got any last night tidbits for us?

Oh Jackie....it was nice for this season to end on a all-warm-and-fuzzy-note wasnt it?
I m glad that The Donatos seem to have mended fences....when the money kicks in Im sure Daniele will pout...Im sure Dick will share with both his kids..offer to take them on many trips...If she gets it, Im not so sure.....
thanks again for a wonderful job well done, and I say so happy for your new assignment...
This blog has had its ups and downs, great group of people, and a support to me over the past few weeks...much appreciated.
I look forward to Survivor....

Too bad they had to be locked inside a house with no way out to work on their "issues"!I still can't justify dick and his behavior all on the excuse of "doing it for his daughter".So,once again, the last person(s)I want to win, well, they do.

Jackie, you did your usual wonderful job, above and beyond the call,at times. We've come to expect this of you,and you never let us down. You have a whole night without any pressure to perform and then,on to Survivor. Thank goodness that is a much easier gig(for you,at least). Here's to catching up on your sleep!

Everybody laying in the snacks and drinks for Thursday??? I will be here and can't wait to get all of your impressions. Hope it's a good one(fingers crossed...X).

Is the show over tonight? Listened to producer on BB and they think this was a great year. Callers said they would like the final show to be more than an hour and she said write the network...every year they want more than an hour to wrap everything up. Allison feels it's too rushed and I agree. We have to have the the sequester hosue discussions, the final vote, and the Eric reveal. A lot for an hour. Sharon mentioned Thursday as final show...I'm confused. Glad D and D getting along...I guess for one final day you can have peace. It will be interesting to find out what happens if Dick wins...will Dani still have a relationship with him? Time will tell.

I'm happy they're getting along now. I'm sure the pressure of being in that house with nothing to do but TALK would get to anyone after a while. I used to think I'd be a good candidate for the show because I tend to get along with other people, but I need my alone time and I need my books. I think I'd go insane after 2 days.

good morning everyone.

isn't it just so refreshing to hear that danielle is being civil and pleasant and happy with and towards her father. i'll have to piece together my almost-shattered faith.

barry manilow would NOT appear on the view because he doesn't care for eliabeth know-it-all, holier-than-thou hassleback's views. very interesting!

oj is in jail.

today is a gorgeous, sunny day.

what more could i ask for LOL

i am looking forward to tonight's show. i certainly would have loved to see, since there are so many summer repeats, etc., a few shows on various nights of different aspects. i love the blooper thing, that would be funny. a whole segment on the jury house would be an interesting watch, especially in light of the fact that it was filled with (their words) the GOOD people. and then the questionning and then the result show with the AP reveal.

i'm thinking next year is going to be family teams, since it worked so well this year.

jackie...i suppose we just return here for your survivor blog? i'll have to catch that as well.

thanks again for everything. it's been a pleasure.

LOL OJ is indeed in jail, 13 years after he should have been but I'll take what we can get.
I've always respected Barry Manilow, my best friend in high school was married to his lighting guy back in the late 70's. When Barry found out he left her because she got pregnant, he fired him on the spot. I respect him, but I don't have any of his vinyl's.
Sunny day here too, high 80's, hurry fall.

Joe in NY said...

Steff!

Sorry about the fishing, I thought you had been sucking it up with the wrist and fishing anyway.

I love Barry Manilow, but I like Elizabeth also - I'm torn on this issue...then again, I'm a man, it's The View, none of my business!!!

What were Zack's "inventions"? He has a sports wear company (or is trying to), but I wasn't aware that he had invented anything. Does anybody know?

Joe in NY said...

Does anyone else think Charles Manson is a political prisoner?

(Not that I'm looking for trouble :)

But the whole OJ thing reminded me of an old argument about the Justice system. I personally feel that I must view/treat OJ as innocent in order for the Justice system to have any meaning. But, that's just me.

The thing with Manson is that he's been in jail for 35+ years for murders committed by his groupies when he wasn't present. Now, I'm not saying he shouldn't have gone to jail (conspiracy is still a crime, same one Zack committed if you want a BB relate), but I think if he weren't as bizarre a personality as he is he would have been paroled by now. I don't think being "eccentric" should be a crime. Y'know what I mean?

Way to go Barry Manilow! I wouldn't go on the View for all the money in the world, because I refuse to support a show that has that brainless wonder Hasselbeck on it. I do love her brother-in-law though, since we are Seattle Seahawk fans and he's there quarterback...:) But Elizabeth? Ugg! Bring back Rosie!!

Glad OJ is in jail...hope it sticks and he rots there.

Jackie S. said...

Maryanne - I'll be writing the Survivor episode reviews themselves for TV Squad this season. However, I plan on having lots of other show talk going on right here in addition to pointers to the TVS reviews.

Joe - If I had more money, I'd be eccentric. Right now I'm just weird.
;-)

But Manson is more than an eccentric man. Having lived through the times and watched the years unfold, I have no doubts that if he were to become a free man ... a cult would spring up again. I feel he's a very dangerous guy and, to compare it to a reality TV phrase, he's a true puppetmaster. Whether he's in a prison or a hospital, he needs to be out of society.

Anonymous said...

ugh on bringing back Rosie.
I agree Jackie, if they parole him, lets make sure its in Joe's neighborhood. But the odd ones usually end up here in Florida.

So happy to see Dani getting along with her Dad. It's kind of difficult to keep up with her mood swings, though. I can well imagine the meltdown she will have when (or if) Dick wins the big bucks over her.

It's starting to seem that maybe her plan all along might have been the same as others, i.e., to go to the final 2 with Dick, thinking no one would give him the money. I truly hope she is wrong on that count. Spoiled brat or not, he played the better game.

I am counting the hours!

Jackie, I totally agree about the Manson thing. I remember all too vividly the rantings of that monster and his pathetic followers. If he were ever released, there's no doubt in my mind that he would start a new cult. He seemed to thrive on the publicity. And he definitely thrived on the idolatry of his followers.

Makes my day to hear of OJ back in jail. Only hope it sticks this time.

joy n said...

Again, I agree with you Deanna. I'm so sick of listening to Elizabeth's self-rightiousness! I miss Rosie, too!

I love Whoopi, but when she defended that football player and his fighting dogs, that just tore it. No more VIEW for me.

i don't find manson a political prisoner. i find a (sub-hum)man that doesn't deserve to be let out. however, i remember at one time reading that if he had been, based on his list of who was next had he not been caught, there would have been a bullet through his head the minute he stepped through the gates. he's been a ranting lunatic since day one. he still spouts hatful, killer type thoughts. he's mental and certainly doesn't belong on the streets.

oj is guilty already on this one. he has admitted it. he's also on audio tape about the taking and thn about trying to return what wasn't his when he realized he was facing trouble. oj sucks and if he didn't rot for the killing of ron and nicole, then let him rot for this. it's like the old mob guys that killed or put out hits and thye couldn't get thm on those counts, but finally got their azz on tax evasion. however you get em - get em and get em good.

elizabeth - how she ever got that show is beyond me. i know they needed someone young - but her views are one sided and her views get rammed down your throat. no room for anyone else to have a thought or belief or opinion. she argues with everyone and shoves her slop down your throat. who died and made her queen?

Justice system didn't have any meaning the first time Oj went to trial, it wont have any this time. despite audio tapes etc. hey owell it is what is, days of innocent until proven guilty is fruitless, Thanks to media, net, etc, It's now reverse, its guilty until you prove to others your innocent.

Joy N... I love ROMBER too! Hated to see them out of AR so early the last time. We really think a lot alike... Great minds...I loved Rosie on the View and I am a fan of Whoopi and was pleased to hear they picked her for the show. I DO NOT agree with her defense on Michael Vick, but I do admire her for not being mellow and speaking her mind on the topic. I think the View thought they would have a calm year and were shocked when Whoopi said what she did... But I do think she is wrong. Vick is a pig in my eyes...

Yes, Dani humanizes him...while he is around her. BUT he is like a lot of violent people out there, there are certain people they can't intimidate (cops, for one, larger men for another) so they hold the rage in a little longer & blast it a little harder at whoever they run into next. 90% of his rantings were real, the other 10 just 'cause it was his strategy.
