'Survivor 15:China' - East Coast Updates - 10/25

The show has started here on the East Coast. As important events occur, I'll update this post. My full show review will be posted on TV Squad later tonight. Please feel free to leave comments -- I love to get your impressions as the show airs!

UPDATE -- Reward: Fei Long won and kidnapped James. They get to go to an island for a tea room visit.

UPDATE: James gave Todd the hidden Immunity Idol clue (after Todd approached him and offered to save him with it). It is in the bat etching on that frame which they keep showing. Amanda (who knows about it) and Todd were working to get it when Frosti jumped in to help. Now they have to trust Frosti. Todd gave James the idol and said they (ZH) must lose immunity and save himself. The plan is for him to vote off Jaime and get the second idol, too.

UPDATE: Immunity - gross food week - despite plans, Zhan Hu won Immunity.

UPDATE: Sherea is voted out (spoilers had it right).

My review of this episode should be published on TV Squad before midnight (ET).

Good Zhan Hu doesn't deserve to win it after last week. If Aaron had been there, they might have had a chance. They can probably kiss all the rewards good-bye until the merge.

At least James gets to enjoy it!

These survivors play the game really DUMB!!! Searching for the hidden immunity idol and being obvious in front of EVERYONE! @@

Well I have picked my favorite...Todd. I'm hoping he and James are the final two. Gross meal yuk yuk yuk.
Shout out to Joe in NY, where ya been hiding sweetcheeks?

I don't understand why Todd gave James the immunity idol...all James has to do is get the one from his camp.

joy n said...

It absolutely sucks that NOW Zhan Hu wins! James just has to hold on to the idol until next week or will they be merging? There will only be ten left after this week, right?

joy n said...

James had to give Todd or someone on that tribe the clue without knowing what the clue is. Without Todd, he wouldn't have even known there was an idol at his camp, too.

I disagree Joy they all know there is an idol at camp.

Survivor is even more enjoyable now that I can read the updates and comments.

James is one I've been rooting for since the beginning. I hope his integrity doesn't eventually cost him the game. I think we all knew that the idol was in that bat etching. It's about time they found it. ;) Frosti is playing a good game and maintains his amiability but I'm only reading Jackie's updates and haven't seen the show yet. I suppose it's strategy to throw comps but it never sits well with me.

Oh please can Courtney go next week...pretty please with sugar on it.

Everyone knows about the idol at this point practically. Why did they broadcast it? What's up with that, and shouldn't they have trusted James, and then just kept their mouths shut?

SO glad Sherea is GONE. Boy does she have a high opinion of herself. TG no more bra and panties. My eyes My eyes can see clearer now!!! IMAO

I really thought it would be Jean-Robert, but just as happy to see Sherea go. She ought to bury that underwear before she leaves.

Sorry, Steff. What I said makes no sense to me either upon reading it again. I can't type and watch TV at the same time. Bless your talents, Jackie.

I sure hope that James grabs the other II before they merge,so he can really have some leverage or be able to share it with his allies. It seems that he couldn't get a break this week, but, hopefully, his time will come! That stuff was super gross tonight,I couldn't even look at most of it.

I am soooooo glad that Sherea got the axe tonight. Boy did she and Courtney think they were in the cat-bird seat or what! Nothing like laying all your cards out for everybody to see. I think both of their mouths made up everybody else's minds for them. Sherea's mouth just wrote a check her behind could not cash. She really thought she was the pride of that team and why???? I am glad she is gone even if she did get a bathing suit!If I was the others on Zhan Hu,I wouldn't count on Frosti being in their corner any more.

From the previews the merge takes place next week and Erik and Jaime find the immunity idol. At least James has one. Now the fun begins with comps for individual immunity. Sorry Jaime can protect herself. She and PG deserve to go for throwing the comp last week. Glad it came back to bite them this week.

All I can think is that Courtney and Sherea have never watched the show before...

Courtney~ at this point, you shouldn't have thought so selfishly about promoting only yourself further in the game when at this time a "team" is essential. It is about the numbers. So your best bet was to try to get the others onto your idea BEFORE tribal council, not during.

Sherea~ Your explosion at tribal was way too much and you probably shifted the votes right then and there. Your arrogance is too much!

I'm just really glad that James is still on the show and I hope he wins it all. I also wish I was there when he was showing the goods in that shower...Yowza!

Deanna...so glad someone mentioned the shower scene...what a BOD!!! If there I probably would have fainted from sheer delight to be viewing that Adonis-like form!!!

I didn't understand James rationale in the previews for next week. It showed him standing there staring at the idol. all he had to do is reach up and pull it off. Instead the next scene shows Eric and Jaime with it. What's up with that.

Todd is smart, but maybe too smart. Why is he telling everyone about the idol.

ok,ok,thank you Lord that I dont have to endure Shereas nasty clothes any longer...Ibet the production crew bruned them as she took them off. I cant wait to hear why she thought a pink dress would work for her.....
Todd is cunning and smart..I love Frosti...sick of courtney (and all the hype about her skinny bod on tv) James ios a knockout----oh deanna you said it well...yowza! Makes this old lady sit up and take note!
Im wondering if James is gonna keep the idol, burn Todd, and tell Eric and Jaime about the other one to garner some favor?
Could Jean Robert get anymroe disgusting? He oggles Courtney like she is a thin piece of filet mignon.........yet down talks her..creepy

The previews are often edited to make you believe one thing is gonna happen and then it turns out to be something totally different, so I'm hoping that James really grabbed the second idol too. Jaime is the last person I want to have it (with the possible exception of PG). I'm so glad Sherea is gone! What was with that tirade she went on last night. I'm no big fan of JR, but I couldn't figure out what he had ever done to her to deserve that tongue lashing.

joy n said...

meb, I thought when James looked up, it showed the idol was already gone. My heart sank when I saw Jaime and Erik with it. I could be wrong, but I think it was gone.

monty924 said...

Something's up with the second immunity idol. The previews show Erik and Jaime looking at it, and the backside is blank - no message like the first. The one James has says it is the idol. Could the second idol be something other than the plaque with the bats on it? Maybe James really does find the second idol... who knows, but I sure hope so.

joy n said...

meb, checked my tape. It was still hanging there when James looked up. It was empty after they showed Jaime and Erik holding it. Couldn't see any writing, but didn't look at it that carefully and I've since erased the tape. Hope Monty's right.

Jackie, just read your review on Survivor over on TVSQUAD. An excellent one. That stuff they ate, especially the chicken fetuses and the 1000 year old eggs actually made me feel sick. I would never make it on this show even if I were 20. Yucky!

Anonymous said...

Jackie, loved your write-ups. What is the head count on each of the teams now that they have merged? BTW, I am so glad to see Shera gone!

dla said...

Yeah! She is gone, and she has taken her filthy bra and panties with her!

While I have never been a fan of Sherea, she made me so angry with her little tirade. She clearly had NOT A CLUE regarding playing the game, or public / tribe perception of her. Whoa! Talk about out of touch!

That reward looked so inviting! And it really, really enjoyed the shower scene. I sat here with a goofy grin on my face, thinking "please stop blocking the shot!" lol

I need to get a life. ;)

monty924 said...

The plot thickens! What if James pulls the plaque down and he doesn't see the same message on the back of it? He throws it down disgusted and continues looking for the second idol. Jaime and Erik pick it up not knowing that it isn't the idol and they think they've found the immunity idol. I've watched the previews a hundred times, and James looks bewildered, like "Dang, that isn't it".

Still hoping!

joy n--I'm with you....no way would I eat any of that stuff. Guess that's why I'm home watching it with my bowl of ice cream!!LOL

Because of editting I'm wondering if Jaime and Eric find the idol while snooping through James bag?? Remember last year when someone did that to Yau-man? They can't take it but they would know that he has it. I don't think the idol is any different. The clues for both teams are the same thing(at the challenge when it's handed out there is only one tube). Doesn't it seem odd that the idol is such a big object?? Not very easy to hide in the few personal items each person has. Maybe the paper comes off the etching.....

I am afraid they will keep Courtney around because no one feels like she is a threat in any challenge. If Eric is smart he will "jump ship" as soon as the tribes merge. After all, P.G. and Jaime didn't tell him about their plan to throw the challenge?! It seems Frosti has already changed alliances by voting Sharea out.
I'm still rooting for Todd and Amanda....and James if he just doesn't go along with Jean-Robert(YUCK!!).

I'm glad the merge happens this week. The game always really kicks into high gear once each person is playing for themselves.

I'm glad that the merge is coming soon. Then little Courtney won't be able to sit out every other challenge. She's the first one raising her hand to sit out if she's able. I bet they would sit her out every one if they were allowed! Not that she isn't crafty,in a sneaky sort of a way,but she doesn't seem to know when to shut her mouth. She would be one that I would be upset to see win it all, just because she hasn't done much of anything the entire game, well, nothing except complain a whole lot! I do agree that John-Robert can be kind of creepy at times, but he has at least done work around camp and has to be more able to win a challenge than she is.I hope James can play his cards right and stay a little bit longer. I agree the others must see him as a huge threat.

As far as hunting the immunity idol in plain sight, they didn't give them much of a choice,as it's right in the middle of camp and so high up that it's hard to pursue it without arousing suspicion. Too bad James and Todd's plan didn't work this last week,PG or Jamie would be gone!I guess I like Todd all right but I seem to like Frosti a little better and am so surprised he is only 20. He's very mature and level headed for one so young. I'd like for him to be on my team. No so, Courtney or PG!

meb said...

joy n... we can only hope that James has the second idol. You know how the powers to be try to trip us up, so the preveiws hopefully are misleading.

As for Courtney...remember in the beginning, none of us really liked her attitude. My opinion hasn't changed. I just agreed with her regarding John Robert that he's a sleaze.

Donna in Alabama said...

When they found the idol, I thought they were wrong. I did not think that could possibly be the idol. I still have my doubts. What was the message on the back of the first idol?

Deanna said...

What I don't like is that once the idol is removed from the wood, it leaves a blank spot that SCREAMS "something was taken". So most of the smarter ones may figure that it was the idol and start figuring out who has it.

I really wish last week would have played out differently and that James would have been able to use the idol and we could have seen PG and Jamie's smug lil looks disappear... It was too good to be true though...
