'Survivor 15: China' - East Coast Update -11/29

I'll be updating this post with the major events of tonight's show as it airs on the east coast. My full review of the episode is posted on TV Squad.

Stop on back!

UPDATE -- They were held after at Tribal Council due to a Reward Challenge, not a second vote. Peih-Gee won reward and chose Erik and Denise to accompany her on a private jet trip to a temple.

Erik won individual immunity. Amanda wants to blindslide James.

And it worked. He thought Peih-Gee was the target and they blindsided him. He didn't use the idol because he didn't see it coming. Peih-Gee voted Todd, James voted Peih-Gee, all the rest voted for James.

So glad to see you here tonight, Jackie!

Yes Monty924 - I'm glad to see Jackie too!

I'm so happy Denice was chosen to go for the reward.

It was really nice of Peih-Gee to pick Erik and Denise, something I wouldn't have expected her to do.

This reward is almost as good as winning the show for Denise, I'm sure. I'm also happy PG chose Denise. She has been passed over so many times and finally she gets a perfect reward... I hope they don't target her because of it. I see Amanda splitting with the reward group... Maybe?

Jackie, big hugs, so sorry to read about your loss of Teaser. I know its hard for both of you.

These challenges seem geared toward certain people to win, in my humble opinion. PeihGee is Chinese, think she hasn't been schooled in Chinese history!

Don't know why I can no longer post as Steff but big hugs again Jackie.

Amanda does seem to be getting restless.

I do wish they'd send Courtney out. I'm so sick of miss-do-nothing complaining about everything and everyone.

Now they're talking about getting James out. He's still thinking he's safe as long as PG and Erik are still there, which is why he's so cocky as not to use those idols at tribal council. Hope he catches wind of what they're doing or wins immunity tonight.

Hang in there, James!!!

monty924 said...

James has to use an idol tonight. Otherwise, he's up the creek.

joy n said...

Uh-oh! PG probably thinks she's going tonight, but this is BIG trouble for James.

I don't know why these people think James is such a threat, he stinks at challenges. Hope he catches wind of Amanda's plan before tribal.

James has been real cocky and probably still hasn't realized that he's in trouble!

Too bad James - you outsmarted yourself! Bye bye James.

joy n said...

They did it!!! James is out! TWO idols and he's gone!!!!

monty924 said...

I hate to say it, but he deserves to be gone for being too sure of himself. He had a golden opportunity with two idols and completely blew it.

I agree Monty924!

James just said "I kinda caught a feelin' but still didn't do it." (Use the idols) But, at least he took it well, said it was just a game. That's better than a lot of others have said.

Yes, he started out nice and humble then the idols went to his head and he became cocky. It's refreshing to see him return to his old self!

joy n said...

Poor James. Yes, his cockiness did him in. I have to admit if they were going to do this, it was perfect timing.

Thanks Jackie...for once I wtached without knowing about James being the one as I forgot to check the blog...Im glad James left, although Im not sure why. He was too cocky, that bugged me..he should have given Todd one of the idols, then I think it would have panned out differently.
Amanda is smart....personally I hope she keeps winning.

Sad to see James go...Now I couldn't care less who wins of the horrible ones left. This is the 1st season where I could not stand most of the people. I guess Im rooting for Denise, but thats a long shot.

What an awful season full of self righteous, annoying, complaining,brats...BRING ON BB9...Im done with this season of Survivor

Too bad,so sad,James. If not tonight, with only 7 left and 2 II in your possession, why even take the chance? Too bad he got so full of himself and changed from the person he was.

I don't think PG chose Denise out of the goodness of her heart. Everything she does is calculated to move her along in the game, thus the talk about Denise flipping. I still could not believe she would think that James would vote with her. Why???? But it's kind of scary how she keeps winning all of a sudden. I was very happy for Denise, what a different picture of her!

I guess Amanda is starting to step up her game.It would be wise of her to get rid of Todd, but then she'd have a fierce enemy sitting on the jury.I'd think it would be smart to be in the final three with PG and Courtney,no?

I missed the show last night. I was at a dinner to celebrate my twentieth anniversary at my job. So sad about James, but he has no one to blame but himself. How could he not use the idol? What a waste. I'm sorry I wasn't watching, I think I could have willed him to use it, LOL. The only one left who I think deserves to win at all is Todd, but I really don't like him very much. I guess I'm rooting for Amanda now.

As I watched, I recalled a spoiler a while back that said 'James makes a big mistake', so I figured this was going to be it.

Amanda was smart in coming up with the idea to get rid of him now. She knew he was too sure of himself and thought they wouldn't vote him out. One more week would probably have made the difference of whether he used the idols or not. Yep...she was smart.

I did think he was gracious in his speech during the credits. He accepted it for what it was...BIG MISTAKE on his part!

I would like Erik to win it. He just seems to keep squeaking thru to the next week and he's so sweet. I like Denise too. Even Amanda is ok. I would not want PG or Courtney to win. Todd certainly has been playing the game but I don't think he's going to make it.

Denise is likable enough, but she hasn't done a thing to earn a win - imo.

No where to bring this up, so I'll do it here... It's in regards to Kid-Nation and how we wondered if these kids were actors...

I came into the house yesterday and a program was on ...something like 'Fetch-Ruff Ruffman'. It's a combination of animated/real people and needless to say it's for kids. Ruff is an animated dog and the host of the show.

This episode was about kids learning how to cook and/or make ice cream. Won't bore you with the details but...

One of the segments followed a boy named Brian and they showed his family and he had a sister named Laurel... she was much younger than the Laurel in KidNation, but I definitely think that it was "our" Laurel.

My point being that since her brother has been on a reality TV show, it's likely that she would have applied for Kid-Nation and also likely she would have been accepted because she has had "some" experience with TV filming.

Just thought it was interesting.

meb said...

By the way... I could be all wrong... may not have been her at all, but she looked exactly like Laurel, acted like her and talked like her.

I know... I'm talking to myself, but...

I just read where they have picked up "Life" for the year. YAY! Love this show.

And, also read that Owen Wilson (recuperating) is dating the "Bionic Woman" (can't remember her real name). I watch this show and actually enjoy it as well. Isaiah Washington didn't come back to life yet after they killed him off. Anybody know if he's off the show or if they're going to do something to bring him back (bionic guy??)

Also wanted to add... I dont think James was becoming a different person on the show or was arrogant. I think at first he sat back and observed and once he became comfortable and got to know people he let himself shine. Im the same way with people,so I recognize it. He was a tad cocky(who wouldnt be with 2 idols... but it was his downfall), but nothing out of the ordinary and his behavior pales in comparison to the rest, who are imo, a bunch of annoying people.

His goodbye speech was also a great reflection of the person he is...He wasnt vindictive or bitter but accepting of being outplayed. I think he will be a fair jury member who wont hold a horrible grudge. The other jury members laughing when he was voted off last night only shows the true character of each member of this season. Never have I been so disappointed in the lack of decent people on a show... Where are the Earls and Yau-mans??? Now I am stuck rooting for the only other decent person left, Denise, but dont have high hopes of her making it too far... ugg!

It is great to see you back. We missed you.

deanna...

I couldn't agree more with your post. I'm disappointed that James got blindsided. Just goes to show you, never save the frosting for last.

It was nice to see Denise so happy and appreciative of the reward. Peih-Gee made herself almost tolerable with this move. Note I did say almost.

I've always thought Amanda was more manipulative than she appeared. Watch out, Todd.

I'd like to see Erik step up his game.

Peih-Gee and Courtney have to go soon.

Deanna and Zoetawny,

I completely agree about James! While he made an error in judgment by not pulling out an idol, my perception was that he did just become more comfortable vs. becoming extremely arrogant. He was so quiet and withdrawn at the beginning of the game, and he had finally become more engaged. I don't know that he trusted any of them at all, but he had loosened up a bit.

His farewell speech nailed it, and I am in agreement that he will be a fair and decent jury member. That whole laughing at him thing made me dislike most of them even more.

I am not feeling this group the way I have some in the past. I typically like to root for that "good person" who plays the game with some integrity, and I am having a bit of a hard time identifying that person in this group. I believe Denise fits the bill, but don't see her with the staying power necessary to make it to the end, and she just has not been actively engaged in "the game".

I do certainly know who I DON'T want to win... That appears to be the easiest of decisions for me each season.

I am a bit ambivalent about this season. Not horrible, but certainly not the most interesting to watch.

i agree with all who said they have no one to root for - denice & erik are the only ones left that i remotly like, but i don't think either one has much of a chance to last much longer

i really like james, too, until he got cocky & arrogant, then he might as well have written his own name down to vote out !!

courtney i can't stand, as well as p.g. - the rest of them, are lukewarm with me - not much of a cast this season, i'm disappointed

MEB- when I looked on Wikipedia you are right. She is listed as an actress and also credited with being in the show you saw. Good catch!

I am so sorry that James got voted off. He was so yummy to look at!

Wow... thanks for responding to me mama2matthew... there for a while I REALLY thought I was talking to myself. And thanks for confirming that. I was pretty sure it was her.

I'm not too computer savvy so don't know what Wikipedia is, even tho I've seen it mentioned before. Guess I'll have to venture out and check it out.

Again, thanks!
