'The Amazing Race 12' East Coast Updates 12/23

The show is delayed here on the East Coast -- I'm not sure how long, but I will post an update when it starts. Important events and the Pit Stop arrival order will be posted in updates as it airs. A full review will be posted on TV Squad late tonight.

UPDATE 8:20 PM ET - 60 Minutes just ended, the real show will begin momentarily.

Thanks to the Fast Forward, Don and Nicolas won first place and a trip to Cancun.

Pit Stop arrivals after Don and Nicolas --

2. Nathan and Jennifer (grr)
3. Ronald and Christina
4. TK and Rachel
5. Kynt and Vyxsin, but despite what was said pre-season, it's one of two non-elimination legs. So, they're still in the race. But during the next leg they will encounter a Speed Bump -- a task they must do in addition to the others. It may slow them down and they won't know when it will happen.

Kynt and Vyxsin are lost. TK can't find the "word" and has to go back. Donald is balking at getting the FF tattoo. And Nate and Jennifer are out front. It's quite the race so far.

Kynt and Vyxsin pecking at each other. Ronald and Christine close to Pit Stop. TK finally found what he needed on the fourth try. Think they may have chosen the wrong Detour, but I sure hope not.

Kynt and Vyzsin's car broke down.

TK and Rachel go to other Detour but get flat tire on the way there.

GREAT!!! Non- elimination leg. TK and Rachel made it to Pit Stop in 4th place. Kynt and Vyxsin last but it's a non-elim. They must face a "speed bump" next week. This was an exciting episode!

It was a topsy turvy kind of leg on the race. I wonder if it was filmed during a full moon? lol

V is beautiful. She reminds me of Bo Derek in 10...that is going back pretty far, I know, and you have to look through the paint to see it.

I hope next week they show Team Two's reaction to finding out about the FF tatoos. Would the bossy little thing have consented to having a tatoo? Did it have to be on thier arms? It was pretty extreme, I thought. The prize for coming in first could have be a lazer removal gift certificate.

Thanks to all and to all a good day. Sue

I have to admit, I couldn't believe Rachel left the directions and they had to go back to get it. They were lucky, cause I think the person who had it was going to keep it as a souvenier. Then he couldn't find the name on the ground and then they had a flat tire. They're just fortunate that the person who gave them the directions to the pit stop knew how to get there and gave them the shortest route.

K&V are so cute together. Even when they were "arguing" they were still cute. Not like most of the other teams who you can't stand when they argue.

Sad they came in last and now have a speed bump to deal with.

Merry Christmas!

For those of you interested in ratings, the Football overrun still seems to be working for The Amazing Race. The episode was basically spread over three half hours. In the 8-8:30 (all times Eastern) 60 Minutes and TAR combined won the time period with 12.12 million viewers - attribute this to 60 Minutes. In the 8:30 to 9 half-hour where the show was on its own, it finished second with 8.98 million viewers and second in the 18-49 demographic with 2.8/8. In the 9 to 9:30 time period, where it shared time with the documentary In God's Name it finished second with 7.74 million viewers and 2.2/6 in the demographic. This was still ahead of Santa Clause 2 on ABC and Spiderman 2 on FOX.

A thank you to Brent for going the extra mile in re the ratings post every week. Always an interesting read. Amazing Race is number one of the reality genre in my book and happy to see it still doing so well.

It's 10:30p.m. here at my house....I just got home from church and time at my cousin's house. My company starts arriving at 10 tomorrow and will be here until about 7p.m. I'm tired already....by tomorrow night my hubby will have to carry me to bed(ohhhh, that sounds kinda like our honeymoon 35 yrs. ago)! I can't wait to watch the grandkids open presents and tell me about what Santa brought them.

What happened to Dec.?? Wasn't it just Thanksgiving??

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you who take the time to pop in here. We've become quite the little community of posting buddies and I so look forward to seeing all of you in here. Love and thanks to Jackie for making this all possible. We know this is a tough time for you,Jackie, and wish you a better year in 2008.

So enjoy your day and surround yourself with family and friends and see you all back in here after the mad rush and push. I,too, feel the pressure and at this point, all I can ask is....is it over yet...lol!
