'Survivor 15: China' - East Coast Updates - Season Finale

The show is starting on time here for a change. As it airs, I'll update this post with the more important events. My full review will be posted late tonight on TV Squad. Please feel free to jump in with your thoughts in comments!

Amanda won reward -- a personal feast. She can choose to share with one or two others (it's a feast for one). She invites Todd to share it.

They've gone for the memory walk and, after the commercial, immunity will be up for grabs.

Todd is the first out for immunity. Courtney is out of it. Denise is out. Amanda wins immunity!

Denise was voted out -- the spoilers were right on final four and final three.

"I would have won if I stayed in the game," said Denise. Well, duh. That "if" ruins it all, huh?

It will be a final three facing the jury once again.

Todd won Survivor China! Four votes for Todd, 2 for Courtney, 1 for Amanda. We know that Erik was the Amanda vote. Denise voted for Courtney. Since JR said well-played and you stole a million dollars, I'd guess he was a Todd vote.

I know many of the readers here didn't want Todd to win, but of the three remaining he was my choice for the win.

On the reunion show, James won the 100,000 from show fans. Mark Burnett stepped up to the plate and gave Denise 50,000 because she lost her lunch lady job and is working (unhappily) as a janitor.

New season-- select few superfans of the show versus favorites from previous seasons. Jeff says at least one is from Survivor China (James, I bet).

WOW WOW WOW a commercial for BB in Feb.....

monty924 said...

I always like this ceremony. Its funny watching them find things to say about the first few voted off.

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or was the whole season recap at the beginning shorter than the weekly reacps? Not complaining, though!

monty924 said...

Come on Denise!

monty924 said...

Well, heck! I have my hair tied back and the waistcan beside my chair! Ick!

Anonymous said...

Whooohooo Amanda won immunity! (thanks for the updates, btw. No TV for me.)

joy n said...

I'm not pulling my hair back yet. Amanda's sitting pretty right now.

joy n said...

I understand where Denise is coming from but I'm not digging pulling out the pity card.

monty924 said...

Oh, I hate Courtney!

joy n said...

I'm liking Denise a little bit less right now. But Courtney is a cold b***h!

Anonymous said...

I don't like Courtney either!

monty924 said...

Well, crap! I wanted Denise in the end game. Amanda is going to win this. That's fine with me.

Anonymous said...

I hope Amanda wins too!

joy n said...

Had a feeling.

Please let Courtney go next!!!

Anonymous said...

They knew Denise would be hard to beat! Hopefully America gives her the money we vote on.

joy n said...

Yes, I hope Denise gets the cash, too.

I just wish she hadn't sounded so desparate at the end.

Zoetawny said...

Show's not on here in CA yet, but I had to peek. I've had a feeling that Amanda was going to win. At least I don't hate her. ;) But, I've always thought she was manipulative, but in a 'nice' sort of way, if there such a thing on Survivor.

Keep up the comments because I really enjoy reading them before and after I've seen the show.

joy n said...

Amanda's so happy about the food.

Now they burn the place down.

monty924 said...

I hope Denise wins the fan vote as well. I'm not that suprised that she pulled the pity card, or that it wasn't genuine. She was hanging on to whatever hope she had and it was probably the last one she had. Tribal is going to be brutal.

joy n said...

Todd and Courtney will really want Amanda out now. Neither of them will win against her.

joy n said...

They're all fishing HARD for those votes!

monty924 said...

Okay, I take it back. I don't hate Courtney. She made a good argument, but I still don't like her. Amanda for the win!

Anonymous said...

Well, sounds like the spoilers were right. I haven't seen the show yet, but it was pretty predictable. I think Amanda is sitting pretty right now....can't wait to see what kind of questions the jury asks her. Thanks for the updates east coaster viewers(and Jackie).

joy n said...

WHY are most nodding at Courtney's BS remarks? She just can't win this. Well, Monty, I'm preparing, just in case.

joy n said...

Courtney's living in a dream world.
Jean-Robert is tough!

joy n said...

Todd just suckered JR!

monty924 said...

JoyN, we have about 20 minutes and then we'll see if we need the puke bucket! :)

joy n said...

PG makes a good point with Amanda. Amanda's trying hard to make Todd the bad guy.

joy n said...

Jury and tribe members should all be salespeople.

joy n said...

The worms are turning!

joy n said...

After this tribal council, I'm not sure I care who wins it.

Delee said...

The jury sure wimped out on the questions. I am stunned they were mild type of questions.

joy n said...

Denise voted for Courtney!?!?!

joy n said...

Courtney looks healthy!

Delee said...

Todd no no no....makes me not want to ever watch this again. Yuck

joy n said...

I can't believe my ears. TODD!

monty924 said...

One things for sure. Amanda played her cards wrong. My brother kept telling me that Courtney would win votes on the jury, and I kept saying "NO WAY". Guess he was right.

Anonymous said...

Well, Tod won. All I can say is I couldn't win this game. My knife isn't sharp enough, my bar of honesty is too high and I am just not devious enough.

joy n said...

The scrawny Mormon flight attendent wins!

Anonymous said...

How were the votes split?

joy n said...

Well, Monty, guess we can let our hair down!

joy n said...

JR is dumb. Todd suckered him! BUT, at least Courtney didn't get JR's vote.

joy n said...

Hate to admit this now, but if Denise doesn't win the 100 thou, I hope PG gets it.

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:10

The votes were:
Amanda 1 vote
Courtney 2 votes
Todd 4 votes

Anonymous said...

Me too Joy N - If Denise doesn't win America's vote, I hope PG wins. But America may go for James' body!!

monty924 said...

James has been leading the popularity vote this season. I still want Denise to win the cash... PG wouldn't be be a bad choice either. From a season of so-so's, I've had the hardest time sticking to a hard line on anyone of them. Sigh! :)

joy n said...

Or James.

joy n said...

Aw, Jaime and Erik are a couple and Erik's still a virgin. Good for them!

monty924 said...

I say James wins the money. Oh, who cares. I've been wrong so far, so this wouldn't be a shock to my ego! :)

Anonymous said...

America voted for James' body!! Denise got $50,000.

joy n said...

I'm kind of glad it's James! WOW! Denise got 50,000 big ones from Mark! Very unususal!

Anonymous said...

Monty924 you were right this time!

joy n said...

Maybe they should have done something for PG. Wait a minute! Don't they get second and third place finish money anyway?

joy n said...

WOW again!!! Superfans vs. Fan faves next season! Sounds great!

Anonymous said...

Joy N, I'm glad James won too. I don't exactly remember, but I think they do.

monty924 said...

Well, I'm off to watch another DVR recording... Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It was a fun, umm, season. Catch you all later.

Anonymous said...

Well,I didn't agree with Jeff that this was a great season, one of the best. Not in my opinion!

I just can't believe these people, with minds of their own,let Todd pull off his power trip. How did he manage to hold such sway over all of them? I guess he really was a student of the game, and I can give him props for that, but I absolutly hated his smug, smarty pants faces at tribal. It's one thing to play the puppetmaster, but another to sit there and act like you are so much smarter and better than everybody else. If I had been on that jury,he never would have gotten my vote, just because of those faces!

And so,we are to believe that Courtney's stratagy all along was to be the bi**h and tell everybody how much she held them all in contempt and they would fork over the mil because she was so honest??? If so,then I am so glad she didn't win. And,I hope to God that she is NOT on this next show!

I kinda disliked Denise pulling out the pity card and playing it to the hilt. Now did it seem that many of the others on there were rolling in dough and also couldn't use the money? I thought James was just as deserving as she was and I was glad he won.

Didn't want Todd to win,but what else is new. I think they damned Amanda for doing the same things Todd did and were very hard on her. It's that old double standard,if a man does it,it's bold and daring,if a woman does it,she's a bi**h. What ever happened to "girl power",they could have knocked Todd off and gone with three women to the end. Oh well!Bring it on,I'm ready for another one....LOL!

So sad to hear of Dan Fogelberg's death this AM. Only 56 and he died with prostate cancer. Loved his voice, loved his music.

So many great songs: Longer, Leader of the Band, Same Auld Lang Syne, Run For The Roses, Believe In Me, Rhythm of the Rain, Make Love Stay. He will be sorely missed.

joy n said...

Jackie, I have to agree with your Survivor recap. Denise really turned me off at the end with her obvious pity ploy. I'm sure James needed money, too, but he didn't beg for it. And Coutney's comment about Amanda's doe-eyes was right on. She,(A) was trying big-time to lay all the bad-guy image at Todd's feet when she was right there next to him doing the same stuff.

I'm not crazy about Todd, but give credit where credit is due; his speech and answers to the juries questions at tribal council suckered four people into voting for him. For that alone, I guess he deserved to win.

If Amanda had been honest with the jury about her ploting and lying, she would have had a better shot at impressing the jury.

Just feeling tremendously relieved that it wasn't Courtney.

Also, I agree with Sharon, in disagreeing with Jeff, that this was one of the best seasons.

Hi everyone!

Well, clearly not MY favorite season of Survivor, by a long shot!

I am in agreement with everyone that Denise played the pity card a bit too hard, Todd was smug, I never wanted Amanda to win, and Courtney was one of my least favorite players ever.

I was thrilled to see James win the 100k. I nearly choked when Jeff told him he had made the biggest blunder in Survivor history. Bless his heart! :)

I guess we all move on and look forward to Super Fans and All Stars! It actually sounds like a bit of fun!

And, on a much sadder note, I was also dismayed to read about Dan Fogelberg's passing. So much talent, and so very young at 56. He will be missed.

joy n said...

Excuse my spelling errors in my 10:37am post and, Sharon, I meant that I agree with you, it was NOT one of the best seasons ever.

I need to edit more.

I have a question and I was hoping someone here could help me. When I was a kid, every year about this time, we would watch an old horror movie about a group of people who went to a haunted house. I remember it was really good but I can't remember the name of it. It's not The Haunting or Legend of Hell House, both of which I just bought yesterday. This one had an old woman who would beat on the wall with a cane in order to get her nurses' attention. The nurse however was off with her lover and let the old lady die. Guilt ridden over what she had done, the nurse hung herself from either a balcony or a spiral staircase, I can't remember which. If anyone remembers this movie I would really appreciate it if you could tell me the name so that I can go buy it. I can't remember how it ends and it's driving me crazy.

My favorites of Dan Fogelberg's songs... Run for the Roses, Same Auld Lang Syne and Leader of the Band. RIP Dan!

Sydney said...

Kay -- somehow your description makes me think of early Hitchcock... does that ring any bells?

Sydney said...

Kay -- My husband who loves horror still thinks it;'s the Haunting...I know you say it's not. BTW, Did you buy the 1963 version of the Haunting or the 1993 one with Lili Tayor, Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta Jones? Talk about a cross-breed in casting...

Cold Leftovers said...

Todd deserved to win, he was as strategic a player as we've seen in quite sometime... Also, I found the Survivor Micronesia Castaways. Check em out at coldleftovers.com, if you like...

monty924 said...

It looks like our Lunch Lady Denise pulled a fast one at the Reunion Show. She wasn't demoted. She asked to take the janitor's position before she left for the show. It was a raise in pay and benefits, but demoted to night shift. Check Entertainment Weekly to see the story.

I'm bummed; my girl let me down! Sigh!

Anonymous said...

The first Haunting had Julie Haris and she felt like she belonged in the house and that the house was tryng to kill her which it did eventually by running the car she was in into a tree. The big thing in that one was the walls and doors would bend and they would make this booming noise when they did it. It wasn't the one with Liam Neeson which I wouldn't take if they were giving it away for free since it sucked, really sucked. Hell House was a rip off of The Haunting and has Roddy McDowell whom I love in anything and was based on a book by Richard Matheson who also wrote I am Legend.
And it wasn't Hitchcock although it was similar to a lot of his movies. I've seen all of his movies at least a dozen times and it quite frankly wasn't stylish enough for him.

I think it was in balck and white but we had a black and white tv then, so I'm not sure which would put it in the sixties. I was like five or six when we used to watch it which would have meant it was 1972 and after.

Thank you for your help anyway. Maybe they will put it on AMC Frisht Fridays or the Rob Zombie cult classic movie.

Wow Big Brother and another Survivor coming in February! Glad I'm retired and have no life. Poor Jackie...hope you can keep up dollface. I know you'll get help from your loyal fans here. Merry Christmas to all.

Todd was my original pick to win, but he and Courtney both turned me off with the eye rolls and cocky smiles.
Glad James won the 100K, Denise on the other hand tugged on the heart strings of the producer. Bet he wishes he had all the information first...ah, hindsight. I bet that never happens again...lol.

Monty924: Looks like Denise has her hometown a little miffed about her lie. When she put on the pity act at the end of the show, it really bothered me. Seemed out of character, I thought. Little did I know. Guess you really never can tell. I'll bet Mark Burnett is p****d off!

monty924 said...

You could just about bet Courtney wasn't on the next Survivor by how robust (considering) she looked at the reunion show. No way she could have gained that amount of weight if she had just gone through another season. I'm sure the producers had a hand in that one.

Denise is in a pickle for sure with her hometown, and the fans that fell for her ride on the pity pony. Can't wait to see if she makes an official statement and/or apology.

Thanks for making Survivor even more enjoyable sharing your comments about the show.

Jackie...A big thank you for making this forum available and for all your detailed recaps, especially when you weren't feeling up to it.

I stopped by the AOL Survivor message board only to see the same hostile ppl fighting with each other over their opinions. I remember when I first met Jackie as a moderator on that board and thought about how far she's come. I'm so grateful that we can all come here if we want to discuss the show and share our opinions. I'm also grateful and proud of all of you commenters for being able to disagree and do it in a classy civilized manner.

Back to the show...even though I wasn't rooting for Todd I wasn't unhappy that he didn't deserve to win. He did play the game hard all the way through. I was glad that Amanda was called out for trying to play the "innocent" when she manipulated, betrayed and lied just as Todd did. I think what's worse than lying and scheming to get further in the game as strategy is denying that you did. I never liked Courtney but at least you get what you see and have to give her credit for being genuine about who she is and what she feels. She looked really good with some meat on her bones. ;)

We all knew that Denise would probably not make it to the end but she did play a respectable game until she showed her desperation at the very end. But, if that was her only way to keep pushing then maybe it wasn't so bad. I was happy to see her get some $$$$ from Burnett but now after reading that Denise chose the janitorial job, maybe she does play the pity card too much. There aren't many of us who haven't had a hard luck story.

I knew James would win the popular vote but not sure if I agree that it was because of his body. He did seem so sincere and humble until he won the idols. ;) I'm glad he won the money.

I thought Jeff's questions were great. I'm surprised he asked Erik if he was still a virgin. :)) Jeff always seems to be upfront with his observations and comments and that's probably why he's been the host all these years.

Well, just being redundant here again. Wish I could get to the blog when the fires are hot. LOL

Very sad news about Dan Fogelberg dying so young. My husband had prostate cancer and opted for the radical surgery. Many times he's thought he chose the wrong option but it was the only clear choice to completely eradicate the cancer. I can't help but wonder if Fogelberg was diagnosed too late. It's very important that all men over 40 get the blood test to screen for prostate cancer. Having your blood taken is much easier than a mammogram so come on guys, take care of yourself.

Hope to see you all here when BB starts.

Wishing all of you many blessings and happy holidays!
xoxo

Just got through reading an article on www.realitytvworld.com that mentioned Denise was on the Early show this AM, along with her School Dist. Supt., Nancy Lane in an interview with Julie Chen.

Denise said "It was not my intention to be misleading." Say what? As Monty said, Denise requested the janitor job and has had it since March 30, months BEFORE filming for Survivor started. She is paid $17.00 per hour with better benefits than the "lunch lady" job.

She then proceeded to tell more lies. She said she had asked the lunchroom supervisor for her old job back before going on Survivor. Ms Lane says that is not true. Then Denise says she decided while on Survivor that she wanted her old job back.

Ms Lane says the school has received "thousands" of hate-filled emails from around the world because of Denise's statements, and she feels this is very unfair to their town. They had granted Denise 3 months leave to be on the show, plus more time for the finale. Plus, several supportive articles were published in the local papers. They were "proud".

The article also said Denise danced around the issue of whether or not she planned on keeping the $50,000., but told Chen "It was not her intention to scam Burnett.

Well, let's see, it wasn't her intention to be misleading. It wasn't her intention to scam Mark Burnett. I understand she didn't realize Mark was going to do that for her, but he did it, and she NOW knows he did it and ought to, at least "offer" to give it back. I think she purposefully led millions of Survivor fans and everyone associated with Survivor exactly where she wanted to lead them. And it started with the ride on the pity pony.

And isn't she the one who insisted she "couldn't lie to her fellow Survivors?

Zoetawny said...

Denise lied!!!!

Just watched the news and Denise admitted she lied. How disappointing. She wasn't the "lunch lady" after all. She did hold a janitorial position before Survivor and the school district said that was the position she returned to after Survivor. Denise said she wasn't sure if she was going to return the money. TSK-TSK Denise!

Looks like Burnett was outwitted. ;)

I liked Denise and I wanted her to do well on the show. I have to admit that much of the reason I liked her is that she represented the everyday working person, as well as that outsider to the Cool Club members of Courtney and Todd. It made me very uncomfortable to hear her beg her last day...using the $7 an hour speech she gave to Amanda. Then hearing the 'truth' of it today made me squirm a little, too. I wanted her to be above all that, and yet how funny is that. How can anyone play Survivor and not be willing to use whatever it takes to win. Isn't that the heart of this game, after all? But, I can't see that her lie was any different from Todd's lies and the others. Maybe the animosity about it was because her lie was after the game and not during it. Or because we expected better of her somehow.
This wasn't my favorite season either. In fact much of it really irritated me. I still don't understand what power Todd held over the others who just handed the game to him. And those same people allowed him to 'thank you for letting me sit here'. He was thanking them for being door mats to his leadership and they didn't seem offended by his remarks. They didn't even seem to notice how insulting that statement was to them. He spoke and they obeyed...just as they all had throughout the season. I couldn't see his power, but he must have something hymnotic going on in person to even have JR simpering by the end of his speech. I'm thinking Todd has a great future in Washington. And isn't that more than a little scary?!! Thanks for the Survivor season, Jackie. Sue

TMZ had an item about Denise and in another item, a certain someone from BB who is too repulsive to name. So you may want to pop over and take a peek.

monty924 said...

Sbaw53, it wasn't that she lied on the show so much... it was that she lied on the Reunion show. There's a difference to me. She had nothing to gain (votes and all); she was already kicked off and part of the jury.

Its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it does say something about Denise's character. I was a big supporter of her down the stretch, and I was shocked by this news. :)

Anonymous said...

I agree about Denise's actions. In the game,it's what the game is all about and if you go into that game and try to not lie, cheat or scheme, you don't stand much of a chance at the prize. My problem with Denise is that her lying and cheating came after the game,in "real" life,if you will. And that does say a whole lot about her character...can we say "desperate"? If you're making $17 an hour and your hubby works...WTF? There are a lot of people out there that would trade you!

I also didn't buy her explanation about the mullet reason. I worked in the school cafeteria,as do alot of other women, and you can have long hair and put it up under those attractive hair nets just as well as that ugly,UGLY mullet. If she's going for sexy,I'm thinking...it's NOT working.

Anonymous said...

I think another difference between Denise's lie and the Todd/Amanda lies is that Todd and Amanda lied during the game but said more than once during confessional times that they knew they were lying as part of their strategy to win the game. Denise lying while at camp by saying she's going back to her $7/hour job is one thing, but the lying on the reunion show when she had nothing to gain from it is another thing. JMO

meb said...

I'm totally disappointed in Denise as well, but if you want to stretch it just a little bit... Her lieing in the reunion show did get her something... $50,000. I guess you could say she pulled out the ultimate win. Just a thought!

joy n said...

But those lies at the reunion show caused Mark Burnett to feel bad for her supposed situation. thus, his "gift" of $50,000. Since she acquired the money based on her lies, she should have offered to give it back. It reveals a lot about her character that, so far, she has no plans to do so.

I think what she has done has disappointed me so much because we didn't expect it from her. I, too, thought of her as working-class. Now I think of her as one more person out to get something for nothing.

She rode the pity pony for all it was worth and it worked. The part she didn't plan on was her boss going on national TV to set the record straight. She got caught with her pants down and spewed out some lame excuses for what she did. What she hasn't done is "the right thing". Give the money back, Denise.

Zoetawny. AOL News now says Dan Fogelberg was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer 3 years ago. You're feelings on that were right. They said he spent a lot of time telling other men to get tested for it. Listen up, guys.

joy n said...

Oh, I forgot. Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills and Nash, has just been diagnosed to be in the early stages of prostate cancer and will have surgery on Jan. 3, his 63rd birthday.

joy n said...

Sydney, too bad that "other" BB person didn't break his jaw or something else that would shut his mouth for awhile.

joy n said...

I just now read on Starpulse News that Denise has finally decided to give the money from Mark Burnett to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. After all the bad publicity she's received, I don't think she really has much choice. I also don't think she realized the far-reaching repercussions her lies would have.

I feel a little better about her now that she's done the right thing, but, unfortunately, she will now be remembered more for those lies than for being a hard-working-class Mom trying to get through Survivor. Karma works in mysterious ways.

monty924 said...

Good for Denise. The money was tainted and now it is going to a good cause. If I had been Courtney on Sunday, I would have felt ripped off. The second place person gets 100 grand, and the 4th place gets around 60 grand. If Denise kept the 50 from Mark Burnett, then she made more from 4th place then Courtney did from coming in second.

Denise, you did a good thing.

Jackie,

I know this has nothing to do with Survivor but i heard that season 9 of BB will only air for 6 weeks instead of the normal 12. any truth to this rumor?

-Meaghan

Anonymous said...

I have not had a chance to comment for awhile so I need to respond to some other commenters-
Meaghan--interesting tidbit... that would make sense because otherwise there will only be about 6 weeks between series. They might lose some of their audience.

I would like to see some interviews with the Kid Nation participants too. I always wonder "whatever happened to" some of the people from the reality shows.

Sad to hear about Dan Fogelberg. I loved his songs...and so young!

Johnny Fairplay on the new Survivor!?! Yuck!! I could have went forever without seeing him again.

I was dissappointed to read about Denise lieing. She didn't need to do that. Be proud of what she accomplished and go back to her life. Now it will never be the same.

I can't wait for Cane to come back. My guess is that the Frank killed Samuels. He can get rid of Alex and gain control of Ducque Rum. What's your thoughts??

And shall we talk about Jamie Lynn Spears.....16, pregnant, and her baby's daddy is saying they have broke up?? I hope Nickolodeon either cancels her show or replaces her. She is a role model for young girls on the show and I don't think it's a very good one! I know accidents happen but she is old enough to know better and has a responsibility to her viewing audience.

Anybody watch Clash of the Choirs this past week?? I thought it was an entertaining short series and amazing voices.

Christmas is in full swing in my house....grandkids are out of school, my folks arrived from Arizona(two days early), and we might even have snow tonight. Hope everyone is enjoying the season.

joy n said...

The Clark Brothers just won on The Next Great American Band. Sixwire (my fave) came in second. I really thought both bands were excellent, though.

Nana in the nw, I'm thinking either Frank or Ellis killed Samuels to frame Alex. Frank has a lot to gain, but so does Ellis. She had argued vehemently with her father. I think she hired Bronson (the private detective) to do the dirty work, then slept with him, and then shot him so that no connection could be made to her. I think that's why Bronson was naked when they found him. She would now inherit her father's business, Alex would be convicted of murder, and Frank would be in charge of Duque. Since she pretty much has control of Frank, she would then "have it all."

Of course, Alex won't stop until he's cleared his name, but, meanwhile, Ellis will believe it's all smooth sailing. Then, we might have her brother, Lamont come back (unseen since the first episode) and blackmail her so that he can gain control. Oodles of story lines there.

My imagination is running wild these days.

Jaime Lynn Spears, how sad! I agree, her show should be cancelled. A lot of pre-teen girls that watch her show could be influenced. Her mother's parenting book (unbelievable!) has been "delayed" by the publisher. I think it should be cancelled, too, unless she changes the name to "How Not To........".

joy n--great storylines!! I think you could get a side job since there is a writer's strike. I was thinking Ellis had her fingers in the murder somehow I just wasn't sure...of course if they decide to have the dad die he could confess to the murder on his deathbed and save Alex?

Jamie/Brittany's mom should have spent more time concentrating on the her daughters everyday life rather than the fame and publicity. Maybe she should read her own book before it's published!! She might want to make some changes.... It is very sad....now Jamie says they are getting married!! She's 16, her boyfriend is 18 and still lives at home! Where is her dad? Someone needs to step up and get some help for her. The sad thing is that the family has enough money to hire all the nannys they need so Jamie will be like her sister and not know the responsibility of having a child until reality hits and it is taken away.

Because of no Friday Night Lights I was able to watch Women's Murder Club. It was good...I may have to start taping it when FNL comes back.

nana in the nw... I did watch Clash of the Choirs and was so glad that Nick Lachey's team won. Patti Labelle (as well as the others) had too much individual singing, and this was supposed to be choir singing, which is mostly what Nick did. His "Never,Never" (whatever the name was) take on flight of the bumble bee was astounding, considering these singers were picked off the street.

Patti also lost me as a fan when she kept with the dramatics after each song they did. Each choir was good and she just acted like hers was just so much better. It wasn't in my opinion.

Also started watching "Duel". Can you tell there's not much on. But surprisingly enough, I'm enjoying it. Give it a go if you have some down time.

Toss up as to who killed Edwards. His daughter was my first thought, but then maybe Frank and she got together and planned it. Then "they" would have it all... And, he did have access to the combination to the safe that had Cane's gun. The "love" of money is the root of all evil. They're real suspect in my thoughts.

Missing FNL. Waiting for Amazing Race to come back...that's this Sunday, right.

Journeyman is another one that if you haven't been watching you need to get the series and start! Really intriguing. I know you may have been turned off from some of our comments in the beginning, but it's easy to follow and just great story lines.

Hi everyone!

Nana & meb, I also watched Clash of the Choirs, and loved it! That was fun, and loved the amazing talent they were able to assemble.

meb, I do have to agree that Patti's histrionics did become a bit much, especially by night four!! lol

I totally agree with you all about Clash of the Choirs. I loved Nick's choir right from the start. But I thought that Blake really overstayed his welcome, mainly because he was shrewd enough to put two men in uniform on the choir and play that for all it was worth. I thought Bolton's choir outsang his that second night and was shocked that Blake stayed in.And Patti was way too over the top for my taste. I hate when the screeching starts and the singing leaves off! And her "Miss Superiority" really turned me off.
I thought Nick's choir's "Never,Never" song was genius and right then, knew they should be the winners. I didn't get to see the finale because I was gone...shucks.

I also enjoyed "Duel" and was peeved that they put those two on opposite each other and made us choose.I'd like to see more of that and another round of Clash of the Choirs would be very nice, too. These kind of reality shows,I could take but am disappointed that "Wife Swap" is rearing it's ugly head again. Where do they find those people???

There is such good TV talk here. Thanks Jackie for giving us the forum. Some of the shows I watch and others I only know through comments I read here. It is a good place for me to relax once in a while. And thanks for the comments on what I said about Denise and her lie. I'm thinking, in retrospect, she must have lied often during the game and I just missed picking up on it. In other words, as with anyone when they get caught in a lie, every word is now suspect. Was she always the last one picked on the playground, as she stated, for example. There were signs of that sympathy card being played earlier in the game and I just overlooked them. Here is what my conclusion on my feelings about Denise and her "little" lie that grew to national proportions. As was stated, she did it after the game. But, I think the shock element was that we, the viewers, were lied to. With the others, during the game, we see what is going on. We knew Jonny's grandmother wasn't dead, we knew Todd was breaking his arm patting himself on the back all during the show, with Denise, we were all duped. And that wasn't as much fun. I think she will be learning from this experience for a very long time. Does she still work at the school? Thanks Jackie, Sue.

I totally agree with everyone about Patti LeBelle. First of all, she had her tour director and voice coach "helping" her from beginning to end!!Of course they were going to perform on a different level, in both singing and choreography. And her emotions were way over the top---I kept thinking maybe she was on some kind of medication LOL. I wouldn't want to see the show become another Amer. Idol but a short 4 night series a few times a year would be fun.

I'm glad TAR is on tonight. It should be having the finale next week, right?! Do you know Miss Jackie??

With the Writer's strike still on and all the new reality shows starting in Jan. I was glad to hear Law & Order will be having some new episodes and Amer. Idol will be starting, too.

Did anybody ever find out if the info was correct about BB9 only lasting 6 weeks?

My Seahawks are beginning and there are more Christmas cookies to bake so have a good day.
