BB9 - Live Feeds Into Friday Morning

Mattie has it made in the shade this week as James seems to be true to his word. Although his main bro Ryan is on the block, James doesn't want the veto used and it would seem Sheila most likely will go home next week. James is very against backdooring anyone as was done to him.

Here's the latest from the Big Brother House of Cards:
  • Sharon and Chelsia talked about Matt. Chelsia wants him out of the game while Sharon thinks she can manipulate him.
  • James said he doesn't know who he'd put up if the POV is used.
  • Sheila turned to the Memory wall and decided everyone is still being evicted as couples -- Ryan will follow Allison.
  • Natalie declared, "Sheila is not with the program." She is indeed the outsider, but will that mean she'll leave this week?
  • The ShoToo crowd got a Chelsia skin show. Amazing how these things happen when they know BBAD is on. @@
  • Sheila cried.
  • Sheila wants to go home, says no one in the house understands her.
  • Natalie helped Ryan study in the case it's a cerebral POV.
  • Sheila was just going to bed when called into the DR. She didn't want to go.
  • Joshuah came up with the idea to prank Sheila and tell her POV is starting soon.
  • She's not happy, back to the DR.
  • They think she was in the DR crying and felt bad. (She's always crying!)
  • Sheila took off the unitard.
  • James and Chelsia sex-played. Blech. No, I don't want to smell anyone's finger.
  • James had trouble getting to sleep, still all hyped from his eviction, return, and the HOH.

I agree with Sheila. James is the strongest in the house and because of that, no matter what the talk is this week, all the little hamsters will follow his lead. No more coups. Which of the two does he prefer leave? I did hear Natalie and Sharon talking about how Ryan had already won money and because of that should just leave so the rest of them will have a chance at some. Thanks Jackie, Sue

James said several times, he wanted to go up head to head against Matt.
Has anyone seen Josh sneaking and listening to everyone's conversations? I think you better watch out for him down the road. He is holding his temper and getting along.
Matt seems to be trying to figure out how Dick did it last year. Sounded like he may want Josh to be his Zach, since he thinks he is Dick! ha

Josh isn't feeling well and Matt wants to cry. I am not surprised. They both have that 'it'll bite you in the butt' flu. Onset came in a box on Thursday. Prognosis is they will be dropping like flies from now to late April (date subject to change). Sue

Morning everybody!

I guess there's not reason for Hef to make offers to lure any of these kids to his pages... why should they? We've seen it all already, lol!

While I'd love to see Matt back doored, I like that James at least SAYS he doesn't believe in back dooring for his reign. It was such a great plan when Nakomis came up with it, but it seemed last year all they did was back door people each time, and that got tired really quickly.

Between Sheila and Ryan I really don't care which goes home. Ryan was very ineffective during his HOH reign and waffled like an EGGO. Sheila is the ultimate floater. She has surprised me somewhat with her powers of persuasion, but I don't think she has the ability to win an HOH. I still don't have a favorite, but I find James to be the least objectionable - so I'll root for him for now.

I still think, as I said in the last post, it would be smarter to get rid of Ryan now as Mattie would have no more male buddies in the house (excluding Adam..blech).

This would leave Sheila alone...no more people to wheel and deal with. She could go next ... or Mattie... who cares ...

I still like Sharon for the win. She knows just enough to say what she has to say but staying under the radar as a threat to anyone.

OK, COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC but I tried Ask.com and they couldn't help me. I know someone on here must know this.

I made chicken vegetable soup last night from scratch -- meaning Canned Broth as a base and fresh chopped vegetables. At the very end I added a cooked chicken breast for a little meat in there... and then I left the giant pot out all night.

Do I have to throw it away? I'm concerned about the chicken broth and the breast, tho cooked. If they can boil water for 30 minutes on survivor and drink it, should I not be able to boil this for 30 minutes and kill whatever? Or not?

...We return to our previously interrupted program!

Oh Sydney... I can't tell you how many times I've done the same thing. I just asked a lady as she walked by my desk what she would do in the same situation and she said she would eat it. The humor in it tho was "But I was raised in Panama, so my standards aren't as high". Had to pass that on to you. LOL

If it's any consolation, I would probably eat it too. My daughter wouldn't and I supposed we'd be told not to.

Now that that doesn't help you at all, I'll go back to your previously interrupted programming.

As much as I can't stand Matt, I agree that Ryan should go. It would make good tv to see Matt flounder around without his bros to be all macho with. He will have to work the girls some more and they all have his number. Well, all but the one who thinks there are 27 letters in the alphabet.

Laurie said...

Sydney (off topic) I've done that too. When I was younger I would have boiled that up and eaten it. My older tummy is so sensitive that I tend to throw things out when I have any doubts because even good food can get me going...
So, I'm not any real help, am I?
Sorry!

Anonymous said...

Sydney--throw it out! Years ago I worked in food services at our schools. Having to take a food handler's test we told to always refrigerate anything that had poultry in it(cooked or not). Of course, if you would like an excuse to stay in bed all weekend--eat it and see what happens--you could be just fine or praying to the porcelin gods and hoping someone will take you out of your misery. Just don't feed it to your hubby, after all you are still a newlywed!! LOL

Donna in Alabama said...

I leave chicken or any cooked meat out overnight all the time and eat it the next day. I just make sure it is covered or wrapped up well. My sons and I also leave pizza out and it is ate the next day. It does not effect our systems.

RBennie said...

Sydney, I would eat it, but I pretty much have a cast iron stomach. I really hate to waste good food. So if you have a strong constitution, go for it (but please don't send me the emergency room bill if I'm wrong) LOL.

Donna in Alabama said...

I do not have a cast iron stomach. . . Taco Bell is Taco Hell for me!

Sydney, good luck with which ever you do...let us know.
I just watched the Wednesday BB show. I kept up on it here and on the feeds but hadn't watched it. The main thing that came to me while watching the eviction/return of James was this. He has said many times that 'it is a game' that 'lies mean nothing because that is how you play the game' part of playing the game is knowing if and who to trust. I agree with all of that 100% and thought he understood the game play as well as anyone. But, when watching I saw how personally he is taking every slight. He also is the first person I heard who didn't say it was a compliment to be targeted because they were recognized as a strong player. In his case, it was just that...a compliment that the others saw him as powerful. I guess it is another example of how being locked away in the house with only a few people and their points of view can change the way a person thinks. He really doesn't like women (Chelsia excepted, of course), so it will be interesting to see if he votes for male or female to leave. Sue

First of all, THANK GOODNESS I have all of you to ask! Let that be a relief and a reminder that real people just work better than Google!

Donna - you know, my mom used to bake a chicken and leave it on the counter and we'd eat it the next day. She may have wrapped it loosely in saran wrap. She left the butter out on the table too, just like salt and pepper.

But now we hear so much about semolina. I don't remember my mom ever obsessively washing her hands and the counter and the cutting boards etc...after they got near raw chicken and we all lived... but now I do that and I too toss if there's even a doubt. And yet, I wonder, has something truly changed or is it just the media's tendency to over-hype and these things just occur in rare cases?

SO here we are, with the modern dilemma... As to my Survivor references... I remember the one tribe's sludge they called a water source... they drank it after boiling BUT that didn't have CHICKEN in it.

Well, I just let it be on a rolling boil for 30 minutes (half of the broth is gone!) and may feed it to my husband who also has no problems, but I probably won't.

My plan was to substitute this for a couple meals the next few days which is a little technique I use when trying to lose a few lbs... which my body just doesn't want to do anymore.

Let's face it... if my midlife brain is forgetting I made the stuff, this body isn't going to drop those extra few pounds very easily either! Thanks again, I enjoyed reading all your experiences and advice!

Sydney--be sure to let us know what you do and how it all comes out...te,he,he.....

gotta love this blogsite. We can talk about everything from soup to nuts....LOL

Sydney said...

There we go again...semolina is a flour, salmonella is the bacteria. DO I HAVE COMPANY?????

Sydney said...

And the sludge water source for one team was Survivor Africa... I THINK, lol. I better watch it driving today!!! :-D

I am still a bit miffed that CBS let America choose someone to re-enter the house and then pulled the old switch-a-roo on us. I think that Alex should just show up sitting on the sofa some morning. Now that would be a twist!!!!!

Sydney said...

Literally Nana -- the nuts being Natalie, or Shelia, or Omorosa, or ...?

(Debbie -- I think I can hear you saying "the nuts that go with James' Oscar Meyer weiner")

Anyway Nana, I think our post is the one that convinced me to not try the soup. I'll just make some more.

Anonymous said...

Jackie - you didn't talk about the prank they pulled on Sheila that made her cry in the middle of the night.

Sydney said...

Anon -- you mean the wake up it's POV prank? I thought she was crying because she knew eveyone was talking badly about her...?

Donna in Alabama said...

MEB, I went back and read your comment in the last post. I agree about Ryan and also that would dissolve the double alliance Josh has. I am worried about Josh's vote if the nominations stay the same.
Let's see Adam thinks it's him, Matt and Ryan to the end. Josh thinks it's him and Ryan, Matt thinks it's him and Ryan. So if Ryan is gone, maybe some these boys will be with who they appear to be with.

Sheila crying?? I thought it was because they were talking about her and she missed her son. As for the prank, she was mad but only for a few minutes(and mainly because she had to put the unitard back on). She was later laughing with the rest of the group.

I noticed since James has come back in the house he has commented to several people about wanting to really get to know them, not just the partying stories about them. I think being voted out made him realize that after all that time he didn't know the "real" people in the house. I found it refreshing yesterday that most of the time was small talk and talking about their lives outside the house(no, he didn't tell them about his porn videos). After last week and the HOH comp. they all needed some down time with no drama(and James had made it clear from the start who was going on the block). Just me being naive or did anyone else feel that way??

I was laughing last night when they discovered the new letters in the guinea pigs cage. Who knew blocks, string, a piece of pineapple and guinea pigs could cause such a stir!!!
Interesting though that Ryan was studying and trying to figure things out and Sheila chose to go to bed(after Nat. asked if she wanted to study the cage).

POV comp. should be today so I guess we will know if studying the guinea pig cage was the right thing to do!!

Anonymous said...

I just had a thought....since it sounds like they are building something for the POV maybe it is a guinea pig cage and each contestant will go out individually and have to arrange items in the cage the way they are in the GP cage in the house?? The person who does it correctly in the shortest amount of time wins POV!

OK---it was just an idea--I'll go do dishes or fold laundry!!

Sydney said...

Nana, I don't think that's so far fetched. Wouldn't be a bad competition at all. I remember evette and those guys being in a cage for a long time... and to leave you got prizes or resisted prizes. Was that Janelle's first season? BB was just a show to me then, never blogged or watched feeds or anything in those days!

Sydney,

Throw it out! The men in my life would eat it, but I throw eggs out a day after the expiration date.

This is a bad group of hamsters!!!

I don't really like any of them.

James and Chelsia seem the least objectionable, so I'm kind of rooting for them. But it is very quiet rooting...

I wish Matt would go home, he's just too full of himself. Has he figured out the ladies are on to him? But, I'm afraid if he left, we'd have nothing but boredom until summer.

I've missed you guys, but I'm just too busy to stop by very often.

Joe in NY said...

By the way, you should be able to eat the soup as long as you bring it to a boil again and let it boil for 15-20 minutes - that'll kill anything that might have started to grow overnight.

You have NO specifically poultry problems since you've already cooked it and they should have already been dead (salmonella, semolina, etc. :) Any new bugs would be stuff that's all over your kitchen anyway. A little boiling will fix it in a hurry.

If you throw it out, starving people in Africa will be angry...

i read on jokers that James won POV is this true?

Anonymous said...

sure is terry! and sheila is NOT happy about it. :)

Anonymous said...

Syd,if you do want to lose a few pounds,I say eat the soup...it will work out one way or the other.....if you get my drift.Me,I wouldn't eat it on a dare(with transplant and all) but my hubby would eat it and even scrape off the mold.....LOL! Chicken is just too iffy for me to ever take a chance, cooked or not.

Jackie said in her write-up that Sheila thinks nobody understands her. Of course not, you're old enough to be their mother! How do you think you can relate to them?
I also think that's why she was able to talk Ryan into her plan, the old Mom cajolling, you know we have our ways to get things done.It was kind of unfair to put her in that house without another single person even close to her age.I'm actually surprised they didn't vote her out first thing.Of course, talking Ryan into anything is as easy as flipping a pancake.

Sharon --Been thinking about you...

It's Friday and I know you were going in for another test today. If you still did, when will you find out the results? (I had your e-mail from way back but can't seem to find it in my old files). xoxx

Sydney you are too funny!
The nuts are bringing back flash
backs of that drunken night in the
house! Please I need Help here!
Someone quick! lock me in the Big Brother house with Ozzie! I still am going for Nat , She is nutty I know, but I somehow feel sorry for her. I hope she kicks Matty to the curb. Natty would be chatty, if she would dump Matty and quit showing her catty!

I'm so tired of Sheila's self-induced pity parties.

Think you made the right decision, Sydney. I would have thrown it out, too. Why take a chance?

Hey, Joe in NY. Hope you can find more time to hang out here. Miss your slant on things.

Hi all! I sure do miss a lot just not reading the blog for a day. :(

sidney...

You still alive over there? I think "joe in ny" had good advice. Bringing the soup to a rolling boil for at least 30 minutes might kill the bacteria that may have occurred from leaving it out overnight. I'm a bit of a germ-a-phobic and am very careful about food handling and refrigeration. On the other hand I don't like wasting food, especially after all your hard work chopping those veggies. ;)
Let us know how you are and if the soup good.

Back to the interrupted programming...

I don't really care if Ryan or Sheila goes. We can make a good case as to why each of them should be evicted. I respect James for keeping his word and not wanting to back door anyone. Back dooring is a devious move and it takes a clever liar and strategist to pull it off. I don't think these losers are bright enough to get away with it.

nana...

..."soup to nuts" is right. :) No wonder we are addicted to this blog.

We love you, Jackie, we really love you!

Ok, it's after 1 a.m. here and I'm getting loopy so, NITERS!
