Off, Off, and Away!

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes, donations, and cards. In a about two hours I'm leaving for the hospital to have my life ripped apart ... er, my knee removed. Ack. I'm going for an operation.

I'll be at the Somerset Medical Center until Friday or Saturday, then off to a rehab hospital currently unknown. Sydney will be keeping touch with me and I've given her the ability to post updates.

Thanks again for everything and wish me a speedy come home!

I'm guessing since it's already 7am NJ time, you are off and on your way. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you for your surgery and recovery. If you need anything post-op, I'm only an hour away, and would be happy to help.

Well, our Jackie's on her way. Gone temporarily from reality TV and into the reality of what life has thrown at her.

Sydney, glad to hear you'll be sitting at the helm temporarily. It'll be nice to come here while she's away to hear the latest on her condition and recuperation, and, also just to chat.

Good Luck with everything, you will be missed while you're gone, but I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you. And when you get back you'll have all of us waiting to entertain you with stories of all the real life and reality tidbits you missed while you were gone.

Well, at least the day has finally arrived and it will be over with in a few hours. Then it's a few weeks of navigating the after effects... but in 4 weeks it will be better and by 6 weeks even moreso, then let's hope Ms. Jackie will begin enjoying the effects of renewed mobility, less pain and the joy of activity once again!

Jackie has got to be one of the most prayed for and love-bombed patients in the universe right now!!!

On another note, and I know this is well after the fact, but I didn't realize Parvarti's last name is SHALLOW. Hello.

Good luck today Jackie. My thoughts will be with you. I hope you will be back with us soon!

Sydney, I got a kick out of hearing that Parvati's last name was Shallow, too. I'd heard it on The Early Show. Somehow fitting for her.

JoyN-- Do you know how to find out when the next Amazing Race starts??? I looked on the websites and chat rooms and even on ask.com to no avail. You are our TV Nancy Drew... might you have better luck?

Now that that great season of Survivor is over, I am chomping on the bit for more. Second best would be if anyone knows if a channel repeats the eps... I know one had been here, a really obscure channel too... but just don't know where to find out this info. TVguide.com???

I'll work on that, Sydney.

Okay, here's what I have so far.

TAR's CBS HOME says that all applications for season 14 of TAR must be received by May 28, 2008 at 5pm PST. The last open casting call is May 24, but just FYI for all you Texans, there's one in Austin on the 16th (Fri.) and one in Dallas on the 23rd.

Wikipedia says semi-finalists interviews will be held sometime in June and final casting interviews will take place in L.A. around late June or early July.

Filming is expected to take place around mid-August to mid-October. Having said all that, it sounds like there is no scheduled start date yet, but I'll keep searching.

JoyN-- You amaze me!!! Thank you so much! Darn, sounds like it's not going to be until the Fall... I guess since TV has been seasonless lately, I was hoping for a summer edition. Sounds like no such luck.

So You Think You Can Dance starts May 22nd, the day right after Idol ends. And The Mole starts June 2nd. That should be a real good one for conversation because even the viewers aren't told who the Mole is until the final episode. That's all I can think of at the moment, but we still have about half a season of Top Chef left too.

Just read back a few of the last comments on the Survivor post... Thanks Patty for the info, and Zoe, can you drop me a line at NwYrkRock@aol.com?

Sydney said...

Caroline, I haven't watched the Mole since it's first season but maybe I should re-start. I think my husband might like it. I forgot what channel it's on...

Caroline said...

Sydney, The Mole is on abc. I'm guessing it'll be on at like 9pm cause it's on Mondays and by then The Bachelorette will have started. I enjoy The Mole because it's as thought provoking for the viewer as it is for the contestants. Could be a lot of fun for group discussions here as we all try to figure out who the Mole is. :-)

Thanks for the updates Sydney.
Jackie, may you surgery go well and you recover and heal quickly. We miss your blogs. God bless.

Sydney said...

OK Caroline -- I think those of us who are up for it should take the MOLE Challenge and give it a try starting June 2.... Seems like it would be great for this group who loves to discuss and dissect strategy and mysteries. I put it in my book.

The Mole TRIVIA: Anderson Cooper hosted the first two shows. I was blown away by that. Who knew he'd become who he is now, lol.

Sydney, how true about Anderson Cooper. But he of Vanderbilt bloodlines. His life has not been easy. I just wonder who will be the host this time. I could not find anything the other day.

There will be a lot of new shows starting later this month. Thank goodness for that.

Jackie I am sending good wishes from sunny California for a speedy recovery.

Listen to the physical therapists so you can be in tip top shape to start blogging for BB10.

Take care
