OFF TOPIC: Thinking of MEB

There has been a group of commenters in this blog community who have been here from the start. I honestly think one of the reasons the comments here are so good is because of this sense of community and that's based on those who frequent here.

One of our treasured community friends, MEB, has faced a severe health crisis this week and is in the hospital. Another member, Sydney, has been in contact with her and posted the latest news in the comments section here.

I personally want to wish MEB the best of recoveries and get out of that darn hospital! My thoughts and prayers are with her as are those of the folks who call this place home.

Thanks Sydney for the update...and thanks Jackie for this forum that has brought all of us into one big family. It has allowed many extra prayers to go out for Meb.

It sounds like the best outcome from surgery happened for her. My MIL went through this 2 yrs. ago without good results, so I was very worried about Meb. I am going to send her an e-mail rather than risk missing her at the hospital.

As for BB:
I would like to comment on a previous post about Jerry.
I do not have the live feeds but I do watch BBAD, youtube and jokers....
Jerry came into the house in the role of "older and wiser"; he continually talks about representing the military and being honorable.

I realize age shouldn't matter in certain behavior, BUT an older person is expected to be more mature and conduct themselves in a manner that is not offensive to others and makes a person feel uncomfortable.

Some of his behavior that has caused the HG to deem him a "dirty old man":

*touching April's boobs
*jumping in bed with April and spooning her.
*getting up in the morning and greeting the young girls with a kiss and hug(he doesn't do it to Libra or Renny)
*talking about his sexual exploits and masturbation(done with just the guys, maybe, but not the girls)

I am 55 and any of that would bother me! You don't enter people's "personal space" without being invited.

All that being said, I believe that if someone told Jerry he was offending the girls he would stop. I think, as is usual in the BB house, they would all rather complain about it behind his back rather than tell him.

So who is going home tonight?? I am really "betwixts and between". I like them both and they offer entertainment to the house.

Jakcie--sorry to read your not feeling well...:(

How nice Jackie - I think MEB is going to blush with pleasure and joy to see a post devoted to her. She sure deserves it! How you can have 85% of your insides removed and wake up saying, "That wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be" is beyond me and an inspiration!!!!!!

Good Morning Meb-Here's to you and hoping today is a much better day.

Take advantage of having everyone wait on you through your stay. There is plenty of time to help yourself once you return home.

Hang in there and get better!

Jackie, that is very nice of you to dedicate a post for Meb.

Sydney, your contacts on the computer never cease to amaze me. Thank you so much for going out of your way to keep us up-to-date on Meb. Your latest report sounds very encouraging. Our prayers appear to have helped and will be continued.

Meb, we miss you and are concerned for you. Do what you have to, to get back to us. We miss you terribly.

Jackie, I'm also sorry to hear that you're feeling a bit under the weather again. Slow down, you don't want to backslide. If your knee balks at sitting at the pute, LISTEN!

I haven't posted yet this season...still taking in all the hg's. However, for this post I will. MEB, I hope you are doing well. It certainly sounds like it. My mother had a similiar procedure 3 years ago, and like, nana, I was a little worried when I heard it. My mother was in the hospital for 10 days afterward and never gained back the weight she lost. My thoughts and prayers are with you MEB and hoping for a speedy recovery. (((((( meb )))))

Sydney, thanks for keeping us updated on Meb.

Jackie, hope you feel better. How is the weather there? Our son and his family went to NYC today on vacation.

Becky - We're just ending a nasty heat wave. It's raining on and off but the next few days should be good into the weekend.

As a long-time Jackie-blogger, I, too send my deepest thoughts and most sincere prayers to MEB and her family.

There is more to life than BBX. (what?! Did I just write that - haha, just a lil bit'o'levity)

Take care and God Bless us all, everyone.

okay, with all this surgery and boobie-talk, I have to add my own off-topic thingy:

I just had extreme makeover surgery. I reduced from a size 16 to a 10, a bra size of 38G to 34D (love my lil bitties!), and they lipo'ed my entire body. wow, it's been just 5 wks, but feels like just yesterday.

So, I know about recovery, Jackie. What my doctor said is what I'm finally learning: Your body will tell you when to stop. Pain, swelling, etc - they are all signs that we need to STOP and rest. Then you can heal. I know it's prolly hard for you, so on-the-go with your photog & all, but you need to rest. there.

At least it's day 2 and already, you are on the road to recovery,MEB! And you surely know that you are in our hearts and minds here and will be in our daily prayers. I know feeling "good" seems a long way off right now,but it's a step in the right direction.Keep that sunny disposition and your faith in God,and you'll do just fine. We'll all be looking for you here as soon as you are well enough to "pop" in! (((((MEB)))))

(((((Jackie))))),feel better soon!

Hi all,

I've become a bit of a lurker due to life circumstances but this is still my favorite place to visit, read and relax.

I wanted to take the time to add my best wishes and prayers for MEB. Nothing going on in my life is more important than taking the time to wish you the best. You really do sound inspirational in attitude and spirit! Best to you, your daughter who took the time to let us know what was happening, and to the rest of your loved ones as well. I add my voice to the chorus that says we can't wait to see you back here with us.

Jackie, sorry you're under the weather and I hope that changes for the better really soon! Thanks to you, as always, for all you do!

A quick thanks to Syd for all your updates as well.

Jackie - I agree with several above...
I check in daily and have recommended you to several others. Keeping up with what is always going on with the group is also entertaining!

Also as part of my "try new things" initiative, you have inspired me to take a stab at blogging myself.

Great chat as always everyone!

Still saying those prayers for MEB, she was on my mind all day yesterday. I mailed a card to her home this morning wishing her wellness. She is truly an inspiration and I enjoy her thoughts on BB and her escapades with her family. I wish my 71 year old mama was as upbeat as MEB.

Jackie, I hope you are feeling better by now and thank you for making a special post for MEB.
You are an angel.
