Big Bonnie Hunt Giveaway and Ultimate Bonnie Hunt Quiz

No, I'm not giving Bonnie Hunt away. Why not? Well, I don't think I can. She doesn't know me and would probably be miffed if she had to adjust to a new lifestyle. She'd most likely give me what-for for lousing up her life! Giving her away is probably illegal or something, too.

But I like Bonnie Hunt. Oh, I don't know her personally, mind you. It's her personality I enjoy and that's what shines on her talk show. Here's a little video example:

But you want to know what I'm giving away, how this all came about and how you can win, right? Well, I was contacted by the PR folks from the show due to my previous post about Bonnie. They're the ones who are giving the prize -- a Bonnie Hunt Show mug and sweatshirt. You can click on the image to enlarge it. But I get to decide exactly HOW I'm going to award it. So it's the ...

ULTIMATE BONNIE HUNT QUIZ!

Now, I'm not a Bonnie Hunt expert even though I've enjoyed her so much over the years. The answers to these questions can easily be found in an Internet search.

I will be tossing all entries with the correct answers in my punch bowl, close my eyes and draw one. Don't worry -- the punch bowl will be dry. I want to have fun with this and not a soggy mess. The deadline for entries will be a week from today -- Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at midnight. I will contact the winner for details, so please don't leave any personally identifying information here on the blog. The prize will be awarded by M80, a PR firm out of Los Angeles.

Please do NOT post the answers here in the blog comments -- email them to jackiestvblog@gmail.com with the subject header of Bonnie Hunt Contest so I can watch for them.

Here we go ... are you ready?

1. In what HBO movie did Bonnie share the billing with Mekhi Phifer?

2. How many times has Bonnie been married?

3. What was Bonnie's occupation before her show business career took off?

4. In what movie did Bonnie Hunt make her acting debut?

5. Who was the co-executive producer of two sitcoms of Bonnie's -- The Building and The Bonnie Hunt Show (not to be confused with the current talk show and later retitled simply Bonnie)?

6. How many siblings does Bonnie have?

7. Is Bonnie Hunt related to Helen Hunt?

8. What famous improvisational comedy troupe did Bonnie join in 1986?

9. How many movies has Bonnie appeared in, not including voice work?

10. What is Bonnie's zodiac sign?

11. What character in the 2006 animated movie Cars was Bonnie's voice?

12. What kind of pest recently infiltrated Bonnie's home?

There you go, folks. Remember -- do not answer the questions in the comments area, send them to the email address I listed above.

delee... that WAS tough? Does that mean you've already answered the questions and sent them to Jackie. No fair... I'm like Tom's and don't know any of the answers. This is going to take a while. Glad Jackie gave us a week.

Of course, if you really have all the answers, I could send you my email address.

Just kidding Jackie (not).

Sorry Meb...I love to research things and just explore. Yes I am done. Just hope all correct answers! LOL

Nancy - You have a week. I found all the answers on Google searches, Wikipedia searches, and the search at her show site. I knew the one from watching her show, but checked to make sure it was on her site.

I just watched Project Runway and won't give away anything, in case some haven't seen it yet. But, it got ugly and I don't just mean the clothes. All the 4 remaining cried at least once, some of it was uncomfortable to watch, but I can't wait for the next show.

Anonymous said...

Sue - I watched Project Runway too, it really did get ugly. Looks like it will be that way at the end too! I haven't started the answers, but looking forward to doing some "homework."

Project Runway was very intense last night. I have been a fan since season one. I have seen alot of the designers get emotional and catty but last night was in the words of Christian, last season's winner, fierce.
I do agree with the judges that none of the designers did their best work on last night's show.
I'm looking forward to seeing each of the designer's collection.

Jax - Did you know that Bonnie was sooo excited about her major motion picture acting debut (yes, I know the answer, but don't want to give it away...) that she had her mother on the set? AND introduced her to that film's stars (who were very nice).

Is Survivor going to be pre-empted tonight by the debate??

Good morning all.

I love contests. I will be working on my entry today. Thanks. Jackie.

I completely forgot about Project Runway last night. Where is my mind? If any one finds it, would you please just drop it in the mail for me.

Hopefully I can watch it online today.

Project Runway was fierce last night. Lots of drama, poor designs and personality issues galore. I wonder if they get counseling after the show? (small joke)

PDX: We are on the same TAR team. Did they get any coverage last week? I can't really remember them!

rbennie: Thanks for setting up the teams! More fun!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

45 minutes later...add that to the couple of hours yesterday......i'm not proud .....

rbennie,
Thanks for setting up the TAR pool. I am really happy to be teamed up with MEB. We'll be cheering for Nick & Starr to go far in the race.
They seem to have it together even if they sometimes act strange and run off at the mouth.
Maybe just maybe I will last longer than I did in the Survivor Pool ! LOL ;>)

I found the answers to Jackie's Bonnie Hunt contest from taking Jackie's hints on where to look. I still had to dig for one answer a little bit. Good Luck everyone!

RBennie said...

Okay I just submitted my answers. Now that the important stuff is out of the way, I guess I should do some work, LOL.

RBennie said...

Thanks Orkmommy. I haven't seen a post from you in a couple of days. Do you want to be included in the TAR pool? I'm not sure if you watch it or not?

Rbennie - I came back to my old job on Monday and haven't had much time for surfing. It's taken a while to get my computer set up the way I need it so I'm lucky to be online at this point.

I'll get into the TAR pool if there's room!

Hi everybody!

RBennie said...

Yay, your back at your old job. I know you weren't happy at the new place. Of course you can get in on the TAR pool. If more people want to join in there is still time, I will just make a few teams of 3. The cutoff point will be tomorrow.

********************

I must watch Amazing race.. Is her name actually Star?

Jackie,
I realize you avoid discussing politics;
I thought I'd share this tidbit.
A relative,( Lars )cannot vote.
I am a USA citizen by birth Although - I Have NOT been a registered voter since May 1990.
I changed my ID over 22 years ago for various reasons.
Why we love Jackie's blog;
It's difficult discussing various off-topic's, if commenter's become rude, offense via written personal attacked words. Not here, Jackie/Sydney do a great job monitoring blog.

There was an individual or Individuals searching into my background, it turned into a huge debate in a Texas city.
Ultimately backfiring; what occurred is a few relatives,
were shown as having voted in the primaries; Indeed they had NOT voted.
Most upsetting was a beloved relative, who was taken off life support on Oct 1, 1995 was also shown as having voted, this lierally blew my mind!

Heck I was listed in 3 separate area's as having voted. I'm serious, it was assumed I was deceased.
I don't plan on voting but if I did; I'd vote for Sarah Palin!
My brother's & sisters are voting, I probably can't since I supposedly already voted three times prior!
I have a large family.
My Texas family relatives are similar to Bonnie's family. They're a hoot, at times a bit much.

Jackie you should work full-time as a Head writer, work from home, your own hours, get paid in abundance.

Thank-You Jackie; your work is what keeps us eagerly awaiting for more.

It's GM's 100 yr. Anniversary.

Hahaaaaa -
Darn it we're due for a Jeff Gordon win! We'll settle for JR.
Have a great day to all. I had to toss this in.

PDX Granny said...

Yeah!! Laurie and I are together again!!

Now we just need to figure out who Anthony & Stephanie are.

I'm sure there won't be any conflict of interest between them and your SD boys. Right, Laurie!?!?!?

joy n said...

Well, guess I'll be rooting along with Jackie for Aja and Ty.

The debates are on at 9PM here on the east coast, so watching Survivor shouldn't be a problem tonight.

Sydney, you are the cat's meow! Good work!

Anonymous said...

PDXGranny - You'll have the same team for the whole season. I won't be changing it each week.

Laurie said...

PDX, I'll be rooting for both teams to the end, but I think the SD guys may do better than our team. They didn't stand out to you last week either, eh?

The debate is on at 6 here on the left coast so we should see Survivor at the regular time, too.

Anonymous said...

Good morning all!! I actually have a few minutes to myself....so here I am on Jackie's! LOL

thanks rbennie for the teams. Donna it's you and I rooting for Andrew & Dan...who the h*ll are they?? Are they the SD boys or the frat. boys? Guess I'll have to do some research.

Survivor tonight...YAY... I hoping my Susie hooks up with a few others now that Gillian is gone.

You can add me to the DOL club(Dirty Old Ladies). The video of Marcus was much more than I was expecting!! Not necessarily size but exposure! I was expecting just a little something peeking out the top of his pants, not the whole things flopping in the breeze!! How did CBS not catch that!??

I would like to give a shout out to Sydney for being so persistant, Anne for great detective work, Donna for digging through her demographic info, meb for going back through old post, and the many others who have spent the last few days tracking down our friend, Sharon. I will let Sydney post the updated info but please keep Sharon in your prayers!

I'm all by myself in our Survivor pool so if someone wants to join me.....just don't tell orkmommy! LOL

Why don't we have word verification anymore?? Mind you, I'm not complaining.....

Anonymous said...

I just checked out CBS and Donna we have the frat boys. They seem pretty goofy and not in great shape...we'll see.

Donna in Alabama said...

I should be able to remember who I'm rooting for as my son's name is Andrew. I do not know which ones they are either, Nana. Like you I will look them up when I have the time. I don't recall them being mentioned a lot last Sunday.

I don't know if I will enter the contest. I had never heard of Bonnie Hunt until I was on vacation and saw a few minutes of her show.

Shhh, no one mention the WV, it's much easier without it!

RBennie said...

Anyone have any luck locating that mind of mine? I hadn't even noticed there was no wv.

Donna in Alabama said...

Are they the ones that climbed the steps on their knees?

RBennie said...

Yes Donna that's them. The frat boys.

RBennie said...

I wasn't very impressed with my guy (Terence) in the first episode. He's the one who was upset because his girl (Sarah) was talking to other teams.

joy n said...

I just sent my contest entry in to Jackie. I'm not positive about one of the answers, but, we'll see. I did enjoy watching a bunch of her clips. Bonnie's very down-to-earth. I like her.

Sydney, I know you had some help in re Sharon and I didn't mean to slight anyone. Anne, Donna, Meb and everyone else who worked so hard to get info for all of us, thank you, too. Meb, with so much on your own plate, you're a saint!

Hope my (and Terry in CA's) Dan does well tonight.

Not missing wv either. Rbennie, that mind of yours has to be around here somewhere. Maybe it's still lolling around that Marcus clip? That happens occasionally with D.O.L 's.

RBennie said...

You know Joy you just might be right, the last time I recall having my mind is right around when I saw the Marcus video, LOL. I'm only 46, so I think I have to join the "dirty middle-aged ladies club".

If there is news of Sharon, I would appreciate hearing it. I too have been concerned. If it won't be posted here, please email me at rbenedit@milbank.com. Thanks.

Sydney said...

Hi All -

It feels a little wierd to have first filled you in on Jackie, then Meb and now Sharon. I swear, I am not a girl scout (well, I was... but I do like their chocolate mint cookies). That was my attempt at levity.

To capsulise, I was concerned we hadn't heard from Sharon in a month, and her posts over the summer were really scary. She is so non-complaining and cheery, it was easy to lose them in all the BB hubub, but a tumor on her neck, unexplainable delays in seeing a doctor, and when she did, the doctor didn't know what it was and sent her home-- um, hello -- how about sending her for CT/sonogram/biopsy!!!! (this is likely due to her not having insurance, and she either held off not to increase bills or could not get better attention, but I'll get back to that)

Then she was MIA for a few weeks and cheerfully got back to us that she had ot go to the ER and she was in full renal failure!

A week or so later, she said she just could not stop throwing up, and had lost 15 pounds, then light of that... I mean, this is serious stuff! So when we didn't hear anything again, I feared the worst.

I emailed her twice in the last 2 weeks, with subject likes calling out to her relatives to respond, hoping someone would go into her e-mail like Meb's daughter did when her mom landed in the hospital.
No such luck. At that point, I reached out to some of the commenters here, whose personal e-mails I have, to pray for Sharon and to ask for help in finding her without a last name or a city....

With all our heads and hearts together, in a few days time, we did! I spoke to her exhausted husband last night.

Sharon has been in and out of the hospital for a month, terribly ill. It looks like she has cancer in lymp nodes. They are not insured and the bills are gigantic. They don't yet know Sharon's prognosis.

We are looking into ways to maybe collect something to help her out. In the mean time, if anyone wants to send her a card, I'm sure that would be fabulous... I have an address. If you would like that, e-mail me at nwyrkrock@aol.com.

Sorry for the long post.

Sydney said...

Yo rbennie! Great to be partnered with you, and though I didn't love Terrance I really liked Sara so we shall see! Thanks for putting this all together.

Petals, here in Central time, it says Survivor at 7 PM, debate at 8PM -- doesn't mean the local news won't interrupt to start and HOUR OF pre-debate coverage. Grrr.

Jackie, do you know what will happen to this Survivor ep if they do preempt it?

RBennie said...

Thanks so much for the Sharon update Sydney. I certainly wish the news had been better though. I will be praying for her and will contact you re contributing. Not having insurance can really cripple you these days. I hope she is getting the best care possible. She is such an upbeat and positive person!

Sydney said...

Rbennie -- That's very generous of you. Petals came up with the idea and it's so great.

We may be setting up a paypal or have someone be the collections person if we do it another way... expect we'll know in a few days.

Thanks Laurie, I think I needed that today!!

The debate is scheduled for 9pm ET, so it looks like Survivor should be on the normal time on the East Coast, and us Left-Coasters will see it a bit delayed if the debate goes long.

Mark and Bill? Really? I love it! I get to root for the comic book guys, YAY!!! After the first show they were probably my favorites. Thanks to your scientific method I might add, Rbennie (loved that by the way also). :)

I'm looking forward to more Survivor tonight. We'll learn more and more about these castaways as the weeks go by as more of their personalities emerge.

Come on Pdx, chant with me!

GO DANNY GO
GO DANNY GO
GO DANNY GO
GO DANNY GO

See all in a few.

p.s. No WV makes today even better! :)

joyn...St. meb... yes, it has a ring to it... LOL

I am so glad Sydney finally found the # to call Sharon's home. Last night was intense with emails flying out everywhere by so many of us. I had no idea what time it was until Sydney mentioned she was tired and had to get up early. Of course this was after talking with Sharon's husband. We done good as the saying goes.

I don't know what I can do financially to help, what with my own medical bills looming, we'll see. I do have insurance, but am in that 20% co-pay period (or should I say crap)!

Did go out and got my card today to send to Sharon.

I thought the Debate went well and I thought and I agree with Sydney's husband that Palin connected with those down home people, of which I'm one. I thought she was spot on most of the time and when she didn't want to answer a question, she artfully went to one she did want to talk about. I loved her manorisms, they were quirky but cute.

Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw and most of those on the channel I watched felt that the Democrats are probably glad there won't be another VP debate. As a woman I'm just glad she was able to be spot on in her serious talks and I don't think there was anything she memorized, but spoke straight from her own knowledge. I do believe there was a lot of coaching on both sides.

I have always felt that if you don't know who to vote for you vote for the most righteous of the two candidates. We're not voting for Biden or Palin, we're voting for McCain or Barrack...

That's all folks! Stay positive all and I'll see you in the a.m.

Oh...Lynn1... that's great ... we're partners and have good competitors... I think. Let's have some fun with this one.

I agree that no one of the top 4 on Project Runway did their best, and I got a hunch as Heidi said, "we've made out decision then? Let's bring them out" that they would give all 4 a chance"

It's got to be hard to see all those designers with dreams of Bryant park and have to turn one away so close to that amazing, potentially life changing opportunity.
