The TAR preview looks very messy tonight and my wv is dusto.

I so dislike football.

Unknown said...

Joyn: it could have been worse. If the Chiefs hadn't tried (unsuccessfully) for a 2 pt conversion, the game would have gone to overtime! I'm sure we're all grateful, especially Laurie :)

Can Ken and Tina overcome the "speed bump"? Can Terrance remain calm and respectful toward his partner? Can the Divorcees not remind us that they are Divorcees? I'm guessing the answer to all of the above is "No"!!

Hello all. I'm looking forward to watching the show tonight when it's finally on here. Still a couple hours away.

I'm an honorary member of Delee and Petal's team so I'm rooting for Toni and Dallas.

My WV is lorli. That's what my nephew used to call me. How perfect.

Laurie said...

Uhoh, Clementine, does that mean you could hear me screaming at the television? I love football and I love the Chargers ... that game never should have gotten to the point it did ... I was yelling pretty loud over here!

Unknown said...

HeeHee Laurie, I thought that screaming might be you!!

Is it wrong that I laughed out loud at the Divorcee who got pelted with the paint? Did the crowd get organized by the time they arrived, or what?

And when Terrance asked "Who's my girl?" and Sarah responded "You are!" -- OMG, hahahahahaha!!!!! Too funny

joy n said...

Kelly and Christy still not reading the clues?

joy n said...

My hubby's a BIG football fan (Giants) so I'm kind of used to it but still have a pet when they run into my fave shows.

RBennie said...

I'm almost feeling sorry for the Divorcees. Did they not read the clue or what? This might be the break that Ken and Tina need to stay in it. Terence is the biggest drama queen isn't he? I say it every week - Sarah is a saint.

I'm in the same spot as Birthday Girl, Laurie! Waiting for the show, and being an honorary member of Delee & Petal's team. I have my pom poms out and am ready to cheer. Unfortunately, it will all be over by time I'm cheering. : (

I'm watching the last two episodes of Life on Mars while I wait. How did we ever survive without DVR's & Tivo??

Terence - water in the nose - GROSS!

OMG Sydney - what is wrong with our boy - ROFLMAO.

Hey, it's Laurie's birthday?

Happy Birthday to you!! Hope you had a great day :))

Delee and Petal -- can I be an honorary member too? I really like them.

Oh, I hope Tina and Ken are at the Temple for a LONG time.

Unknown said...

If Sarah didn't dump him after the Race, then I hope she gets the picture when she watches it on TV... run, girlfriend, run!!

Sydney said...

ooooh, with bleached hair that porous, she is going to have green hair forever!

Donna in Alabama said...

I like Tina's lime green hair...it compliments her face!

joy n said...

Tina's hair doesn't look bad green. Did you hear her call them dumb a**es when they threw it on her?

RBennie said...

So far Terence and Sarah are the only ones do the chili peppers. I wonder if that will help them or hurt them. I don't think that was much of a speed bump! Hand out water to a crowd? Give me a break.

Sydney said...

Laurie and Clem -- can you give me reasons why you love football? My husband is a fanatic and I tried, when I moved to Houston, I really tried to get into it and I could not give a HOOT.

Help! I know he'd like me to watch with him. I try to get into the characters of the players (the "girls" way in). I have a short attention span too, lol.

ROFLOL I can't think of anyone better for it to happen to, can you?

good idea for Tina and what's his name to get out of the cab and clear the traffic. Is there a rule that you can't leave a cab once you're in it if it's not working out for you?

Wonder if Kelly and Christy will tell themselves again tonight how smart they are.

Dan and Andrew, you kind of expect it from them at this point.

Good they chose bleary eyed. hehehe I am just full of the devil tonight. Even if they are not Philiminated, her eyes should hurt.

Darn, Nick and Star were team #1 AGAIN.

I want a plug in light up ganesh!

Wow, Nick and Star get all that fir first prize...AND a SHOWER!!!!

Late coming in...darn football

Sydney said...

yay ken got the number -- but how would you ever tell where to look.

Terrance is so NOT sexy, I don't care how big his willie might be. whiney wimp!

I would definitely have a hard time figuring out the numbers on the electrical wires.

Sydney said...

Unknown said...

Syd: my favorite reason to watch football? Tight Ends!! (sorry, oldest joke in the book, lol)

Terrance looks like a miserable pink leprechaun.

Of the last three, I really don't care who goes. Ken and Tina are growning on me a little, though, as are Nick and Starr.

But Dallas and Toni are my favorites!

My WV is "expitype"... I'm trying to go as fast as I can, sheesh!! :)

Delee said...

I probably could find them but remember them never, glad they could write them down!

The D's are horrible about reading the clues this week, twice they messed it up.

meb, well our team came in first again! I really hope they can hang tough and make it to the final 3 at least.
I have to admit I was hoping the divorcees would get philiminated tonight.
I thought it was trashy of them to talk about making out with Andrew or Dan. It was obvious that they were poking fun at the guys. Personally I think the guys could find nicer women to spend time with than those two witches. I'm being nice after all it is Sunday! ;>)

Laurie said...

Why do I like football, let me count the ways... Seriously, it began as a teenager with liking football players and listening to them talk about the game. My dad liked football so I watched college and pro games with him as a way to just have time with him. He would talk about the plays and I just found it all quite interesting. As a San Diegan, it's fun to be a Charger fan and for awhile it was fabulous because we had winning seasons and parties and stuff like that.

Donna in Alabama said...

I love football too! My dad did the same think Laurie or I would probably not like it now. Back then a lot of the college games were not shown on TV and he would have the University of Alabama game on in his truck or in his shop as he was working in the yard. In the fall, I just turn on the TV to hear a game while I go about doing my stuff. Of course, I always watch Alabama play.
Roll Tide!! Sorry Lynn1 and Michelle, not that we beat LSU yesterday. I just don't want you to think I am rubbing it in.

Nana, our frat boys got lucky tonight with Ken and Tina helping them! They just have not learned to read and re-read the instructions.

Laurie said...

delee: thanks for the reminder about Top Chef. Wed night, right?

Sydney: I'm not sure how I feel about the B. Shields commercials. I know I'm tired of them and they seem somehow wrong but I can't put my finger on why.

TAR:

Tina's green hair is cracking me up. I don't think that is washing out easily.

Terence is a whine-fest all on his own. Still don't like him.

If I were walking down that street looking for the numbers I would get run over for sure!

PDX Granny said...

Ratz!! I was really hoping that Dallas & Toni would come in first. Nick & Starr have had enough turns at it.

I gotta give it to Sarah, going into the bird cages and rooting thru the seed. She was such a good sport about it, but I would rather have seen Terence doing it. . . . . especially if it was icky messy. hee hee.

The divorcees were hit so bad during the roadblock,I was feeling a bit sorry them. Just a bit tho. It was hard to feel too sorry considering how they're not too bright! I was glad to see them go.

Jennasmom said...

Hey, Karen! We're back in it. Our girl Tina looks better with green hair!

I thought the frat boys should do good at the dye challenge. Looks like some of the frat parties from my old university! Or frat initiation night in the old days before lawsuits.

meb said...

Lynn1..YAY... Nick and Starr did it again. Good for them. And glad Toni and Dalls came in 2nd. Glad they helped each other as well. That was smart. When the boys asked the D's to work together, the blond said "no". Big Mistake!

Sydney... I love the Brooke Shields commercials. I think they are hysterical. With all the crap commericals out there, let's enjoy a good one when it comes along. IMHO.

Clementine said... My WV is "expitype"... I'm trying to go as fast as I can, sheesh!! :) Too funny!

I am so glad the D's are gone. I also cannot stand Ken and Tina, but Tina actually did something nice tonight when she gave the boys the headsup (literally) about the #'s being ON the wires.

Petals said...

Syd - I LOVE the Brooke commercials. I fell in love after the first one. Wow - it really appeals to my {R} side. hehehehe
and I think the same thing about Tina's hair, too. Oh - and after she wiped her face, her eyebrows didn't move, so they may be tatted on, what do you think?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISS LAURIE!!!!!

Petals said...

BTW, I love the idea of having a "pool" for the players on our shows. Makes it interesting and fun to root for someone different.

Maybe we can do it for the next Big Brother? Wow, that'd be so hard!!! But fun.

Have a great week, everyone.

meb said...

I was just over on TV Squad to read Jackie's AR write-up. Good one too Jackie...loved the picture of the guy doing the #'s. He was quite the actor, and he looks like he just dropped in exhaustion from the frat boys and the divorcees hundred times up there with wrong #'s.

Anyway... I scanned down and came across the Ghost Whisperer article and noticed there were 53 comments. People are really upset that they killed off her husband. I'm hoping she's dreaming and he'll be back, and not just next week as a ghost she is trying to get to cross over. He didn't have a big part, but he was her anchor. He needs to stay. They've already killed off her best friend, Andrea in the first season, then Mohr left this season (might come back if his show doesn't make it), and now Jim is dead. Are they trying to make this show fail?

Just an observation.

***
I laughed my a$$ off too at what Sarah said, I guess he is the girl in the relationship after all... I thought Starr got by pretty easy on getting hit and then they were pretty ruthless after that. Why oh why wouldn't they know to look for a marked enveloped. And hello - divorcees - if you had to go back repeatedly, wouldn't you have caught on after the first one was empty?

The numbers guy was pretty funny too - except he didn't give the grin to the frat boys or the divorcees when they finally got it right. hee hee

Jennasmom - I'm glad our team is still in the running. Tina seems to think well on her feet and looks ahead - it was a nice touch that she helped the frat boys, especially after the divorcees refused to work with them.

Top Chef - I watch it religiously as well - watched the last season over the weekend while I was cleaning.

Football - Huge football fan at my house - with a house of boys, I felt it was my responsibility to teach them the game. Now we root for five different teams since they each have a different one. My youngest son is a Packers fan, since I'm from Green Bay, I tend to root for them as well. But we also follow Steelers, Redskins, Patriots, Broncos.

Whew - guess I better get back to work - have a great day - Karen in MD/DC

KarenJC said...

Oh, have to comment on the Brooke Shields commercials - when I saw the first one, I was so confused ...but now they crack me up - I love them.

RBennie said...

Good morning all. First off let me say that I think those Brooke Shields commercials are a hoot!

Can't say I'm sorry to see the Divorcees go. They were really a couple of "mean girls". Is my memory faulty or do Andrew & Dan come in next to last every round? It sure seems that way.

I have to root for Terence & Sarah because they're my team, but I really love Toni & Dallas. They seem to have the perfect mother/son relationship.

Although it was nice of Tina to point the boys in the right direction with the numbers, she just had to throw in that they owed her. It reminded me of when she went around telling everyone they owed her for getting on that flight a while back. Next week's show looks like its going to be exciting.

Okay, I've rambled enough for now. Have a great day everyone.

joy n said...

Those dye-throwers had really warmed up by the time the divorcees showed up. Perfect timing, I say! Excellent example of Karma. They spoke nastily of everyone and got nasty back. LOL!

joy n said...

I agree with you, rbennie. It kind of took away the "niceness" of them helping the boys when she said D & A now "owed" them.

Anonymous said...

Thank You Clementine for the invite to the Toni/Dallas team. It will be nice to root for the good guys for a change.

Margo

KarenJC said...

Aw man, I didn't hear her make the "owe us" comment. Well, they are my team to cheer on. It's nice to see Nick and Starr and Dallas and his mom compete so well with each other.

I haven't been able to watch too much TV lately...not that I haven't wanted too, though. This is probably the first season that I haven't been glued to Survivor and TAR, but I still try to check in here at Jackie's and see what is going on on the shows and I have seen some of both shows. "My" divorcees are gone, and while I haven't seen enough to have a favorite I did see enough to know they weren't it! They (Kelly and Christy) are on AOL top 5 videos today. What a way to be remembered, at least it wasn't the scene of them hanging out the taxi window screaming like they didn't have good sense. And why did they have trouble getting a taxi when the other teams were dirty, too. Their attitude must have shown through.

Sue

Anonymous said...

Can't help it, but I was glad to see the "boobsey twins" (that's classic!) misread their clue. I loved seeing them get sprayed over and over and over again! Serves them right! They're just dumb :)

joy n said...

The gang eliminated so far are having fun in Acapulco at The Elimination Station. For some reason, (I guess from this point on) the rest, along with grumbling Kelly and Christy, are going to be phoning the others only. Must be winding down. Stephanie and Anthony are having "domestic" problems. She wants a proposal after four years and apparently, he's not ready to ask.

Phil said at the beginning of the season that there would only be eight pit stop elimination points. If so, that only leaves one to go.

Ponderosa, on the other hand, seem to be having a good time with the Survivor bunch. Great clips over there.

Worked at the club all day. Really too, too tired. Probably going to try to watch some TV but betcha (Palin talk) I'm gonna fall asleep.

OK...it was my birthday today and the grandchildren came to the club and arrested me and took me out to lunch. Then right back to the club.

Gotta tell you this story... My granddaughter sits for a family. They call her their Nanny. She was playing with the oldest one, (5)throwing her in piles of leaves in their front yard really having a good time. The mother came out (she works at home) and was watching, so my granddaughter walked over to her. The 5 year old followed her and attempted to jump over one of those little fences they put up for flower beds, fell, and landed in a rose bush. Needless to say, she was covered with thorns by the time they got to her. I think they're still picking them out of her.

But there's always a little humor in everything, so the two year old, who was watching intently through all this but never saying a word... walked up to my granddaughter and said, "Nee Nee, I look and I say WOW!" So cute!

Happy Birthday MEB!

DLA - I am so happy you brought up The Biggest Loser - I love this show and I was in knots last night - Vickey is just nasty - I've never seen a contestant be this way and it seems as it just gets worst next week when she attacks Amy for voting out Brady. Do you think they did the immediate elimination this week to let Amy cast a vote before the blue team talked to her? She seems to be one that hasn't stood up for herself and I was proud that she voted what was right for her (I figured she would since they kept focusing on that fact throughout the show) but you never know if she would flip-flop. In the previews, they show a Revenge board - just unreal. Not sure how her husband can back her up on how she treats other people.

I also can't remember why they dislike Phil so much except for the one comment they said he made. I think Bob and Alison just don't like her either, and I think
Bob did his "banana split" race to try to get to another player to talk "game." Just my thoughts...

Oh, I was so engrossed in this show that I woke up my husband at 3:00am to tell him what he missed... I was slightly obsessed with the amount of distaste I had...lol

Good morning all.

First off, I'm so sorry to be a day late, but happy birthday MEB! There sure are a lot of Scorpios in this group. Maybe that's why we get along so well.

I hope you guys are feeling a little more talkative today. Yesterday was eerily quiet. Who has a good topic for us to delve into today?

PDX Granny said...

Good morning! YIPPEE!!! I don't have to go to work today!! But YUCK, it's not because I get to have fun. :(

I get to go in and have one of those "procedures" that is one of the blessings of getting older. The one where I have to have a diet of nothing but clear liquids for 24 hours ahead of time.

I'm really surprised this morning. After having nothing but Jello for breakfast and mid morning snack yesterday, and chicken broth for lunch and dinner, I would have thought I'd be starving this morning. I'm not at all. Maybe I hit on a new diet! :)

The best part of today is that my boss is feeling sorry for me and told me to take the whole day off. From what I understand, the whole thing should only last about 1/2 hour and other than feeling a bit gassy, I should feel fine afterward.

I think I'll celebrate by going to my favorite thrift store and seeing if they have anything good. Today is 1/2 price day for seniors.

RBennie said...

Well that whole "procedure" thing doesn't sound like much fun, but at least you are going to make the best of the rest of your day! I still have 2 or 3 years before I have to start having those done. Can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I guess it comes with the territory. Maybe you can put all the highlights in your new blog, LOL.

Morning everyone! My step-dad had his knee replacement yesterday. He's doing fine but will be in the hospital until Friday. I'm sure he's sick of hearing my "Jackie said..." stories about her surgery. :-)

Happy late birthday Meb...21, right?

Good morning everyone and happy belated birthday MEB!! It's always fun to celebrate with your family.

What happened here at Jackie's yesterday?? I checked in and it was like a ghost town! I thought everyone had moved to a new site and didn't tell me!! LOL

I've been gone awhile so I'm not going to even try to play "catch up".

granny--the procedure is so important to have done and is a piece of cake. It's the prep. for it that really sucks. You'll be tired from the anesethia but after a nap you won't even know anything happened. Since your boss is giving you the day off enjoy your afternoon.
Hey, did this horrible wind/rain storm hit you?

Well, today I am taking pics. of architecture in Tacoma. My grandson is in a highly capable class and they are studying different elements in architecture. He needs pics. of examples in Tacoma. We spent some time yesterday taking pics. but some of the buildings were closed because of the holidays.

Have a good day all.

dla said...

joyzjenn and karenjc, I really don't understand the intense "hatred" for Phil, either. Other than the fact that he had a few game conversations that did NOT include a game plan or strategy that would benefit Heba and her Herd, I believe that they are just miserable "haters". It is really upsetting to the balance (and purpose!) of the show. Feels more like Big Brother strategy than Biggest Loser, and that was apparent with how upsetting the house was to the contestants that returned for a moment last night. I need to watch the second hour online, as I was so worked up by the whole thing that I flipped over to watch DWTS at 9pm to get away from Heba and Vicky. lol

Back with more after I watch what I missed... I did flip during a commercial to see that Brady left, so that made me smile. :)

dla said...

PDX Granny, good luck with your procedure today. :)

Orkmommy, it is good to hear that your step Dad made it through and is on the mend. Keep us posted!

RBennie said...

Okay you guys have me really curious now. I have been slacking off on watching Biggest Loser - just so many other things on, but you've stirred my interest enough to watch online. What's going on on that show. I remember even from several weeks ago when I was watching, that I didn't like Heba and her teams's tactics.

dla said...

rbennie, I have been watching this season, sometimes on TV and sometimes online due to the DWTS conflict. Heba and the Herd are getting absolutely NASTY, and Heba and Vicky are the worst.

Catch up online and see what you think! :)

pdxgranny, I also have been through this procedure and got my appt. yesterday for the next one (the 21st). Nana's right, it's not so bad. Both are a breeze!

Dla said "Some of the headlines used these days have almost nothing to do with the following story, but they grab attention, I guess."

I actually sent a nasty gram email to FoxNews.com because they had the story about Jennifer Hudson's nephew being found dead in the truck filed under their ENTERTAINMENT heading. WTF? That's not entertaining at all. When something like that happens to a celebrity, they stop being a celebrity and become a real person! I was livid!!!

The step-dad (Dave) is doing well. They're weaning him off of the drug pump and trying to get him on oral meds only. He started PT this morning and they're impressed with his range of motion and how much weight he can put on it already. I'll keep ya'll posted...

Good for you Orkmommy! Your right about that, that story certainly didn't belong in the entertainment section. Glad to hear your stepdad is progressing so well.

Today must be my lucky day! My sigmoid-thingamajigy wasn't bad at all. Judging from some of your comments, mine must have been different than yours. No drugs or anything. I don't think it even lasted 5 minutes. All I had to do was lay there and relax. That was easy for the doctor to say. She wasn't the one laying there! Good news, everything came out good, with nice pink and healthy tissue.

After finally eating (so much for the liquid diet!!), I went to the veterans thrift store. I SCORED!! I got a card table and 4 folding chairs for $12.50!! They're a bit on the grungy side, but otherwise in very good shape. I figured after attacking them with some good cleaner, I can get some inexpensive chair pads and make some slip covers. I saw some in one of the holiday ads and they look like they'd be easy enough to make. Then with a nice table cloth, I'll be set for the holidays.

I have seating at the counter between my living room and kitchen with bar stools instead of a regular dining table. Anytime I've wanted to have a sit down dinner for family or friends, I've needed to bring in my patio set - either that or make sure it's going to be nice weather. But that doesn't work so well for the holidays.

Now I'm off to do some mystery shopping, get a manicure & pedicure. If my luck holds out, I'll find a real good deal on some Christmas presents.

I just love having a day off in the middle of the week!! I feel like I'm playing hooky. :)

Orkmommy - sounds like your step-dad is doing great already

PDXgranny - that is a great find! It may encourage me to go to the thrift stores more often!

BIGGEST LOSER - on Jillian's blog today: "Next Week: You can bet that Vicky didn't take it too lightly when Amy helped to vote her husband off. Next week, she takes revenge in a BIG way. You don't want to miss this one — tune in next Tuesday night to find out what goes down!"

Now I have to go read Alison's blog.

Hi Everybody... Thanks for all the BD wishes. I had a great day.

Tonight is Life at 9:00p as well as Criminal Minds at 9:00p, so I have to watch one and tape the other. I really like both shows, but tonight's Life has the son of a good friend of ours in it, so gotta watch it for sure.

Does anyone watch the Mentalist? Its a good show, and of course Dexter is off the chart. He hasn't killed anyone recently so that's good, but he did do a mercy killing in this episode and that's not his forte'. It worked for him ok tho, I guess. We didn't see the outcome.

He's funny about these wedding plans... he has no idea what he's doing.

Gas Watch: $1.87 today in San Antonio! $1.94 up here in highland lakes area west of Austin. Woohoo!

Never thought we'd see it below $2 again! Feel like going out cruisin' around! Except I don't go anywhere at night! It's jammies time!

Waiting for Survivor - will check in here late night after the show. We're at our lake cabin & that's the only time I can get online with our prehistoric internet service here. Hope you had a happy birthday, MEB!

Good morning, all! I'm getting ready to put on my water wings and head off to work. We've had lots of rain here the past few days. That's caused many streets to be flooded here in Portland. Two of the main roads to the coast are closed due to flooding and slides.

Nana, I hear it's even worse up in your area. We had the wind too, but not nearly as bad as they expected.

I hope everyone has a good day. I'll be checking in later for Survivor.

Did anyone see the divorcees on Bonnie Hunt Show. They set up a foundation to aid the poorest city or country that TAR goes to each season as long as the show runs. The were flabbergasted by the poverty in Cambodia so they did this when they got home. Soo maybe they can think of others once in awhile.

Well at least they've found a good cause to put that alimony money towards, LOL.

So did anyone watch Top Chef last night? Any early favorites? I know a couple of them annoy me already, but no favorites yet.

I watch Dexter...his new best friend worries me, Dexter is all about discipline and Jimmy Smits character isn't. I recorded Top Chef but haven't watched it yet. I just checked and Big Love is scheduled (but date might change) to begin new season Jan 09, The Riches is not coming back (I liked that show) In Plain Sight was to begin filming again in Oct, but I don't know if they did and I didn't see a begin date for Season 2, Saving Grace...which I both like and don't like : ) is set to begin again March 09. I still haven't watched the finale of Top Design, although I already heard who won.

I usually catch Top Chef on the weekends, 10pm is too late for me to watch an hour show since the darn alarm clock goes off at 5am. I'm curious now that you mentioned some already are annoying! I love that!

my wv is cootor - I don't know why, but it made me laugh.

Cootor sounds like the singular form for cooties, LOL

MY OH MY!!!
Donna in al.--do you see what I mean about communicating??

Sue--most of those shows are ones I was going to watch last season and never did! I have a hard time keeping up with the old ones--CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, and, of course, TAR, Survivor, etc.

Granny--the rain and winds were horrible! Many of our school districts are closed because of flooding and power outages. I'm afraid this is just the beginning of a rough winter.

Jackie--was today your last day of making a "donation" to the vampires??

I've been watching my grandson for a week while his mom is gone....I am exhausted!! He is constantly doing something and talking(just like his mom)....I don't know where they would have got that trait! LOL

Jennamom--hope your little girl is feeling better. I have a friend whose daughter had a similar problem(starting about age 5). She is now 9 and the infections have caused some permanant paralysis to her kidney. She will be on meds. the rest of her life!! Glad to hear you caught it early.

Survivor tonight--I really hope they merge these tribes. Nobody seems to have really solid alliances anymore, which could make for interesting play as one tribe.

later.....
