The Amazing Race - 11/23 Show Post

jackie's tv blog, the amazing race

Yes, the show is starting ON TIME here in the NYC area! I'll be putting the major updates here and my full show review will be posted over on TV Squad later tonight. But the real fun is in the comments and you're all invited to join in!

YAY! Toni and Dallas came in first at the Pit Stop! They won a trip to the Dominican Republic.

2. Ken and Tina
3. Nick and Starr
4. Andrew and Dan ... it's a non-Philimination, so they remain. Speed bump next leg.

First, am I first?

Unknown said...

Hooray for starting on time!

Unknown said...

I'm taping 24, and it's also starting on time, if anybody cares :)

Anonymous said...

Guess I was. hehehe Since my boys were eliminated at the beginnin of the season, the curse can't hurt me.

Anonymous said...

Jackie, I sent before I asked.... how are you feeling. Any stronger yet or are you still wiped out when you get home?

Hey, Clementine!

Unknown said...

Hmmm... my name now appears with a capital "C". I'm must be moving up in the world!

Hi Becky!

Go Toni and Dallas!!

Unknown said...

Oh, I hope they all do "boots", not "borscht." I want to see the Frats try a military march.

Unknown said...

Why am I not surprised they were in the marching band for 6 years, lol?

Nick and Starr got a bad deal with their taxi driver this time. It's always a roll of the dice.

Jackie S. said...

Becky - With the exception of my stomach bug this week, I'm feeling a lot better. I love eating my spinach and drinking my cranberry juice again!

It's odd to see Nick and Starr so far behind. I have no inside info, but I'm also thinking it may be a non-elimination leg tonight. We know there are three and one is with the final three. So...

Unknown said...

Go Toni and Dallas, in first place so far!!

Frats argue with each other like 5 year olds.

Nick and Starr finallly arriving at the military base and caught up with the Frats who just changed tasks.

Unknown said...

And Frats didn't read the directions again @@@@!

Delee said...

Again mis-reading the clues.

Glad you are feeling better Jackie and getting back to your old routine.

Delee said...

Ralk about clumsy.

Delee said...

Talk

Anonymous said...

Dumb and Dumber are a hoot! How in the world did they manage to get this far?

Petals said...

My gosh! That one frat boy marches like he's got a disease... How uncoordinated can one person be???
AHAHAHA

Jackie S. said...

Er... Dan's marching is unreal.

Delee said...

Sheer luck I think, but agree how did they get this far.

Unknown said...

Hi Jackie, glad you're feeling well. Spinach salad and cranberry juice are favorites of mine, also. I would be sad if I had to give them up!

Nick and Starr have passed the Frats, who are back to the marching task now. And they failed it.

If it's a non-elim, that stinks! Because I've had enough of the petulant boys.

Jackie S. said...

Marching was an exercise when I was in physical therapy over the summer. I marched better in knee replacement recovery than Dan does.

Delee said...

A new fav of mine is Cranberry juice and Orange juice 1/2 and 1/2

Petals said... My gosh! That one frat boy marches like he's got a disease... How uncoordinated can one person be???

Petals, THAT needed a spit alert!

Petals said...

Easy, Dallas...

Delee said...

I so want Toni and Dallas to come in first for once.

Petals said...

Frats finished the food service! Looks like Olive Garden may have found two new employees.

Petals said...

Yeah, Nick may crack under those bags.

Unknown said...

Petals, if those boys ever try to serve me food in a restaurant, I'm outta there!

Mean Russian baker lady is cracking me up! I think she rehearsed all of her English commentary ahead of time.

Petals said...

Clementine - yeah, I like the locals playing a funny "role" in the race.
GO DALLAS/TONI!!

Petals said...

Finally we might see that Nick & Starr are BAD losers.

Anonymous said...

Oh, my, now the Not So Bright are serving soup. Hey, they should have done it first.

Heaven help them when they have to unload the flour!

Petals you are on a roll tonight! I am going to stop drinking my coke while reading what you post!

Looks like Nick and Star are in trouble.

I too hope Tony and Dallas are first. Ooops, shouldn't have said that -- not since I was the first to post.

Delee said...

I agree, Clementine, they fed her a few phrases so the task.

Delee said...

I hope you did not jinx my team, Becky.

Petals said...

I don't know the Frats names..which is Beavis and which one is Butthead?

Anonymous said...

Delee said... I hope you did not jinx my team, Becky.

Me, too Delee.

Delee said...

Thank you, Becky LOL

Petals said...

WOO HOOOOO!!!!! Finally they came in first!!!

Delee said...

YES YES YES T and D are 1st for once.

Unknown said...

I hope the Frats taxi driver has them arrested for non-payment and sent to a Siberian work camp.

Toni and Dallas are Team Number One!! I'm glad they won a trip (and not sports equip).

Delee said...

Yeh Petals we are 1st finally

Delee said...

Give the taxi driver their sneakers

Petals said...

I so wanted Frats to beat Nick & Starr...

Petals said...

Yea!! Beavis & Butthead survive another round.

Delee said...

We called it a non E...oh no they have to do an extra task. Are we ready for more comedy next week?

Unknown said...

I don't wanna watch the Frats no more (whine, whine). I want the other teams to be final three!

Anonymous said...

I didn't jinx them! Thank goodness!

It looks like Ken and Barbie Doll are doing much better in the private life. They actually complimented each other this trip.

So who will be last. Why don't one of the idiots take off their watch? Or their jeans. I understand American jeans are very sought after in Russia.

LOL at the "people like to see the under-dogs win" -- don't think so in this case!

See some of you on the Dancing Board tomorrow. And the rest of you on Survivor. Oh, are we going to just continue to post of the link Jackie set up for us a couple of weeks ago or post under comments on her write up the other day?

Delee said...

Not more dancing, my eyes my eyes.

Petals said...

Congrats to everyone - no one got Philiminated.

Delee said...

Becky, phew. Maybe it was good luck since they were not your team.

Delee said...

Good night all.

Unknown said...

Becky, as for DWTS, I'll go where everyone else is, but maybe better if we stay on the old post? Because it's linked on the sidebar and easy to find.

Now I want to go peek at 24, but I don't want to spoil it for myself. Have to wait til I have time to watch the whole thing.

See you all later!

Petals said...

Becky, I only post here. Is there another site??

joy n said...

Nick and Starr barely squeaked by this week. A lot of bad luck. Glad they're still in it.

How nice that Toni and Dallas came in first this week.

Dan and Andrew are hanging on by the skin of their teeth, aren't they?

What the heck does "skin of their teeth" mean, anyway?

Petals said...

That phrase is from the Bible, the Book of Job. Loosely translated, it simply means "just barely".

joy n said...

Thanks, Petals.

Laurie said...

Has anyone else noticed that Frats can easily be read as Farts?

I may not see the show tonight since my Chargers are playing the night game, so I'm glad nobody was philiminated tonight!

Donna in Alabama said...

It is in the book of Job. He has escaped with only the skin of his teeth...meaning just his gums.

Yeah, Laurie, although the farts are Nana's and my team they really stink!

Laurie said...

LOL .. they really do!

I am watching the show now, got to it just as the Farts gave up on the marching. Good thing they did that!

Sadly, my Chargers lost to a last minute field goal. This is getting really old.

Jennasmom said...

Just watched the show on tivo. OMG! My husband & I were falling out of our chairs laughing at the frat rats. I expect the Russian army will be invading any day now - they'll think if all Americans are like that, should be a breeze to take over the country! LOL

Jennasmom said...

Delee -
After I read your post, had to go try the 1/2 OJ and 1/2 cranberry -- GOOD!

Anonymous said...

Laurie you must watch at least the marching segment. It might be on youtube. I have to admit after seeing the fratter not be able to wrap his foot or to walk and chew gum at same time, I was feeling a little bad about laughing so hard tears rolled down my face. He did seem happy enough in the after show interview. Phil's face as he greeted them at the pit stop said it all. I am sorry to tell you that you have not been eliminated.

Didn't one of the team's call them the blunder boys?

Anonymous said...

This is a youtube with Phil talking to the frat boys about their performance.

Good morning my fine feathered friends... Jackie, it;s so good to hear that you can eat those favorite foods again! YAY!

I decided that I was going to WATCH TAR last night instead of live blogging it. I miss so much and I tend to think my husband might like me present with him (ditto Survivor). But I was also wondering what you all were saying here.

This was the first one where my pool team was gone and I did find myself rooting for Dallas and his mother. I am so over those frat boys and have no idea how they have stayed in the game this far.

Becky -- you broke the first poster curse! Yay!

I was amazed at both of these things: that Star got so rattled thruout, and that her brother was the voice of patience and reason!

I could not believe the marching. I understand you can have no rhythm but someone could have said, stop punchinig the air and putting your whole shoulder into it, or when you kick, just keep your hips in line, don't wobble your whole body. I mean, could no one help him by saying anything -- like his dimwit PARTNER?

And I would have run from the driver and told him they'd be back in 5 minutes and they'd get $$ from their friend... anything to not miss my chance at the million dollars. I know they were tired and discouraged but wow -- they were just not thinking.

Laurie, I called them the FRET boys last week, since they are always doing that. Now I see farts. Thanks for that, really, lol.

Starr does not handle frustration well does she?
It sounds kind of weird but I learned something from Starr's behavior.
I think I tend to be too much like that myself. When I get frustrated I am guilty of
whinning and verbal lashing out. I am going to try to be more aware of that in the future. It is not becoming behavior for anyone.

I cracked up with the marching problems of team Dandrew. That poor guy will never live that down! LOL
Even though they are not my pool team I was very happy to see Toni and Dallas win last night.
As someone else said I am glad their prize was a luxury trip and not something like matching
motorcycles.
Next week should be interesting. The promo said one team loses their passports. That will create a royal mess. It could mean that team will be eliminated due to the time it takes to get a replacement passport.
Considering the teams left in the Race I am willing to stick my neck out and guess if any team manages to lose their passports it will be the Frat boys. That kind of problem seems to be their Forte.

Anonymous said...

Good morning everyone!

After reading all the posts I would like to know....why are you all bashing my Frat boys?? I mean just because they have no coordination, can't read or follow directions, have an Eyeore complex(the dark cloud of doom follows them everywhere), and are delusional enough to think they are doing pretty good.....LOL

I guess it would be the Frat boys losing their passports but they seem to have a fairy godmother keeping them in the game.

Next week will be funny with more dancing....Poor Dan, how can anyone be THAT bad? I bet Andrew was trying to tell him what to do and he wouldn't listen(as usual). I was laughing so hard it scared my dogs!

I was really happy Dallas/Toni were 1st and won a trip. They are the team I would be rooting for if I didn't have the Frat boys!

I was surprised at how flustered Starr got, too. Nick was really calm which I was happy to see.

Off to get ready for the day.....

RBennie said...

Good Morning all. Sorry I missed live blogging with you all last night. How funny was Dan's attempt at marching? It was almost like watching a Laurel & Hardy skit, LOL. Why do those bumblers get all the luck? That non-elimination should have been last week, LOL.

Here is the updated team list:

1. Delee & Petals (Toni & Dallas)
2. Karen in MD/DC & Jennasmom (Ken & Tina)
3. Lynn1 & MEB (Nick & Starr)
4. Donna in AL & Nana in NW (Andrew & Dan)

PHILIMINATED

1. Laurie & PDX Granny (Anthony & Stephanie)
2. Becky, Monty924 & DLA (Mark & Bill)
3. Clementine & Caroline (Marisa & Brooke)
4. Joyn & Jackie (Aja & Ty)
5. Margo & Sue (Kelly & Christy)
6. Rbennie, Sydney & Orkmommy (Terence & Sarah)

Anonymous said...

I was thinking that if Terrence and Sarah had made it to Russia - He would have told her "Sorry Babe I can't do it" and had Sarah do the flour sack challenge. I was a little disappointed that Dan didn't complain the whole time. He seemes to be enjoying the manual labor more than anyone else.
Weird.

ROFLOLOLOL!!!! We aren't picking on them, we are enjoying the dufuses.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is them that loses their passports. They need a fairy godmother -- or a keeper. I still can't imagine what their grades must be -- or what their fraternity is like. Please tell me they aren't all like these two. What college do they attend?

Anonymous said...

I think Tina is gonna lose the passports. She tends to get scatterbrained when she's pushed. Remember the room she had to find in that religious place? How about the cow costumes...

That's just my thought...

Go Dallas !!!!!!!! The boy is smoking hot and I would love for him to come and warm me up anytime!!!!

Margo, that is funny -- Terrence would have made Sarah carry the flour. And who was it (Petals?) who said they thought Tina's eyebrows were tattoo'd on? I looked carefully last night and I think you are right. She has bozo the clown arches drawn on in thin black with that bleached blonder hair. WHat is the appeal of that???????????

When she put on the army uniform I just saw a back up girl behind Liza Minelli in Cabaret.

Hey, some American Idol spoilers (sorta).

The same person who posted the names of the final 20 last year before the show started, is at it again.

If you believe him, in the final 20 this year are Jason Castro's brother, Michael Castro, and Donnie and Marie Osmond's nephew, David Osmond. And the daughter of David Archuleta's vocal coach.

If this is true, there's going to be controversy about "ringers" again.

meb said...

Hey Lynn1... even tho they had a tough time with it, our kids are still in the game. Starr was losing it a couple of times, but I don't blame her. I would have too if my cabbie got lost.

Frat boy marching... funniest thing I have ever seen. Why wouldn't they run to the pit stop and take the cab driver with them instead of sitting on the curb arguing with him. Argue later... they probably would have come in 3rd. No matter, it was a non-elimination leg, so even to they'll have a speed bump next week, they're still in it. How I haven't figured out yet.

I really just can't take to Tina, but they, as a couple, have calmed down a lot.

Laurie said...

Thanks for the links to the marching. Seriously, that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. How could anyone be that uncoordinated. They really weren't kidding, though, right? OMG ... Their mothers must be so proud.
