DWTS - The Final Three and My Predictions

Yep, yep, yep ... the season is drawing to a close. Every year they have a star or two who shouldn't be on a dance show. Without exception, this year it was Cloris Leachman. While she gets my kudos for being as active and agile as she is at her age, she belongs on a "serious" dance show as much as I do. And, no. You do not want me on a dance show. By the way, if you haven't heard, Cloris Leachman has been ill, but she refutes that it's anything serious.

After this week's dramatic elimination of Julianne Hough and Cody Linley, it seems to be anyone's game. Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer are both very talented dancers. Heck, he danced in the boy band, so he has a bit of a background in choreographed moves. Then there's Brooke Burke and her partner Derek Hough (Julianne's brother). Technically, I think she's the best dancer on the star side of things.

But I want Warren Sapp to win. Yeah, you heard me. There's just something about his performances, albeit not technical perfection, that entertain me. He plays to the audience and is just such a paradox of a man that I feel I must cheer him on. Big, gruff-looking, and used to only choreographed football moves, I've found him delightful to watch on stage. Glitter and glam, he's so there even though it seems so incongruous.

Y'see, my main goal in watching any television at all (other than news) is entertainment. Warren Sapp entertains me, thus and therefore ... he should be declared the winner this season. Nah, he's not a polished dancer. But for his size and lack of a dancing background, as well as his personality, he's a winner for me.

I have spoken. Make it happen.

Funny Jackie -- I loved this post. Apparently the bug didn't diminish your inimitable wit.

I like your take on DWTS. I didn't know Juliannne got canned yesterday because I haven't been caught up due to travels. I am sorry she got sick because had she gotten a chance to work with her partner without a break, I believe they would have advanced much like the others who had possibilities.

I like your pick and your reasons why. I am tickled that he's such a twinkletoes. Brooke does well, but doesn't entertain me. I don't wish her ill, as it had to be hard work to live up to Derek's expectations of perfection, but I don't want to see her win... only because it will be so typical.

I have really liked the different flair that Lance and Lacey have put into the show and have liked them best -- along with Warren -- all along. Looking forward to those two battling it out!

I would really like to see Lancey win too. However, I think it will be Warren and Brooke in the F2. All of the pro football players have went in the F2 in the past.....I think they have alot of people voting based on who they are not how good they are.

Oh well, it's good entertainment.

Loved seeing Roofus!! Thanks Jackie for giving us a cyber-pet.

Sydney--first twice in a row??? It must be your lucky day!

Jackie--take it easy and drink lots of Gatorade. My daughter had that bug, went back to work after 24 hrs. and relapsed.

Survivor tonight--I hope the previews haven't misled us....it looks like Randy gets the fake Idol from Bob and uses it!! I would love to see him leave with "egg on his face"!! Sorry, my evil side just came out....LOL

Rainy, cold, and miserable here today. I could have stayed in bed with a good book all day.

Loved your take on DWTS, Jackie. I would not like Brooke to win, same as Christie last season. Warren would be nice, but I want Lance.

CSI tonight, has the miniature killer (?) back tonight. Thought they caught her!!!

I crawled into bed around 330 this afternoon to rest and warm up. I awoke to local news and thought it was morning, not 6p. OH MY!!! Also daughter is coming and I thought she changed her mind and would drive up Fri am. Boy was I confused. Shows what hard work will do.

I'm rooting for Brooke because of her talent and consistancy throughout most of this season. If Lance won, I'd be okay with that too.

Warren's personality irks me a bit (sorry, Jackie) and I don't think Kym is all that thrilled with him at times, either. His flat feet did him in and it IS a dancing contest.

I have flat feet. When I was a lot younger, I danced a lot even though I was far from the best dancer out there. I just enjoyed it. Hopefully, Warren has enjoyed himself, too.

Miracles do happen and he could win it, who knows? But it wouldn't be fair to Brooke and Lance if he did because they both danced better.

I agree with you joyn... I just don't like Warren. His personality leaves a lot to be desired and I too think that the winner should be the best dancer. Warren has done some good dances and does entertain, but...

I felt the same way about Emmet when he won. He was a good, smooth dancer, but not a ballroom dancer and that's what this show is all about.

Anyway... I won't be upset if any of the three wins, but I'd prefer it be Brooke. She has been most consistent throughout the competition.

Sorry to hear about the gastroenteritis. Sounds like you might have contracted food poisoning from something. I had to go to urgent care a few years ago with horrible stomach pains and learned that most stomach flu's are caused by bacteria or viruses in the food/water. Wouldn't you know it had to ruin your day off. Sure hope you're over the worst of it. Like Syd said, your distinctive wit seems to stay intact. Loved the pics, especially our Roofus.

Anyone here from the west coast? I'm trying to find the Survivor live feeds so maybe I can post live with you tonight.

Julianne Hough has issued a statement that she i squitting DWTS to focus on her country music career. I am totalyl bummed as she was my favorite, though Derek will certainly help fill in the gap. Mayeb it's a smart move for her as there is a whole lot more $$ in a singing career and her knees will give out way before her vocal cords.

"The music is where I want to be so you got to do what you got to do to get there," she reveals.

Syd, I just read online that Julieanne won't be back next season. :(

I completely get it, but I have loved her on the show and feel that she brings something fresh and genuine to the mix, so I will definitely miss her next year.

I like the final three, but agree that Warren is probably the least talented dancer. Brooke has been incredible, and probably deserves the "W" based on talent and dance. I would really like to see Lance & Lacey take the trophy. I have found their unique connection kind of refreshing, and I also feel that Len has been so brutally unfair in his scoring with them that it would be fun to see them take the trophy in spite of his efforts to take them down. Also a bit a redemption for Lacey after the "weight" comments regarding her and Cheryl...

I actually won't be sad to see any of the final three take it, so that makes for a season of entertainment after a bit of a slow start...

And Jackie, I am with you. I watch TV (and movies) to be entertained... If they can take me away from it all for 30 minutes or for 3 hours, I am happy!

Sorry, but Warren is not the same dancer he was 3 or 4 weeks in to the show. He has "lost a step or two" (to use a football analogy)

At the halfway point of this season, I had Brooke and Warren has the hands on favorites.

At the end of this season, I now have Brooke and Lance as the last two standing.

Make THAT happen, pleeeeeez!!!

I admire your good taste in who you are rooting for Dla -- Lance and Lacey, same as me, lol.

PS: Brooke is perfect, but not entertaining. I like to watch Derek (he reminds me of David Bowie sometimes) and what he comes up with. I know that he wants to win that trophy at least ONCE. You can see it. Not only does he want to compete with his sis' double win I'm sure but I know he wants to take this career somewhere bigger.

Julianne was my fave to watch every year... but I think she has two trophys and wants to go out on top. I think Cody probably was a real task this year compared to her other two and she didn't like it much. She's all cheery and positive for the cameras, as she's a consumate pro, but I think she was spoiled by the ease of her previous two partners.

She didn't rule out coming back next fall - just not for spring cause she has her tour. Lets cross our fingers her departure is not permanent.

Margo

That would be so great Margo -- I read a quote on E! online where she said "I'm not coming back and that's final!" But maybe she meant that just about the spring season. She seemed to be picking music over dance now, said it's where she needed to go... boo hoo

joy n said...

Julianne being my favorite, too, I read that she was leaving to work on her music career and I'll miss her. Then again, she'll probably be seen on the country music channel more often now.

Still, I'll miss her dancing.

Sydney said...

well joy, we can see her dance in her videos? Not that I'll be watching much country music television...

Syd, and I thought I was the only one that saw that "hint" of Bowie in Derek...

Takes me back to watching Bowie dance onstage, Us Festival, Riverside CA, 1983! What an incredible experience that was!

One of the highlights of my rocker chick phase. lol

Dla, great Bowie fans fantasize a like!

I haven't voted all season, but tonight I voted for Lance and Lacey. Brooke is too perfect (i know, jealous!) and Warren was fun but not very good. L & L improved a lot, and I like her innovative style.
