jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. I believe it's all clips tonight, but thought I'd open up the post for discussion.

Dang a recap show!

Delee said...

This is sad...how many channels and nada on. I guess I expected too much for a holiday.

Hope everyone is stuffed and the meal was fantastic.

joy n said...

I'm too full even for any pie yet.

I don't mind this show every season. You always seem to learn something new about some of these survivors.

Delee said...

Since I have the floor (haha), does anyone else notice how different this fall TV season has been? Usually we have repeats/reruns up to this point. Have the networks decided that they are losing viewers with that equation and ordered more episodes per season? At this point I am expecting fewer new episodes between now and 2009. I guess we will see.

joy n said...

Kenny and Corinne are very full of themselves.

Delee said...

Hi Joyn, I usually hold off on the dessert if at my home, but it was brought out as soon as we finished. UGH Just do not enjoy it then.

Delee said...

So was Crystal with her 3 B's

joy n said...

Yeah, those 3 B's are getting old and I sure haven't seen much of the "blazing speed".

Delee said...

Corrine is so wrong about Sugar

Delee said...

Blazing speed = BS if you ask me!

joy n said...

For a girl with a full scholarship and and a three year finish in college, she's not really so smart.

joy n said...

Corinne, I mean.

joy n said...

That should be her first B! LOL!

Delee said...

Love that they are showing more animals...forget the show...show the animals!

joy n said...

Matty's a sweet guy.

Delee said...

Sorry Randy, I did not get ya!!!
hahaha

Delee said...

I agree about Matty.
I see his grandfather in his face.

Randy keep his agressive behavior at bay? Yeh when?

joy n said...

My kind of vacation.....

A desert island. A sandy beach. A hammock. Sweet, juicy fruit.

Delee said...

Sounds wonderful...lets go!!!

Delee said...

Did not know that Bob made all that stuff....very interesting.

joy n said...

Glad Randy is outta there.

There's something about 'ol Bob, bless 'em.

Delee said...

I agree, but Bob is not bound to stay long unless a miracle happens.

joy n said...

I'm hearing echoes around here, Delee. Maybe everyone's sleeping off their dinnners?

joy n said...

I really don't want to see Crystal win this.

joy n said...

That may be the only thing that Crystal is right about. Randy is a troll.

Delee said...

LOL trytothane (?) in the turkey.

Very quiet here to, but just me and the rabbit!

Hate they can dig in others bags, wish they would make it a no-no.

Ah some trolls are so ugly they are cute, but not Randy.

Thought Sugar had set a EI record and she has.

joy n said...

Nice, Corinne! What a biotch!

joy n said...

Sugar is kind of a flower child.

Delee said...

Never have liked her. Corrine that is.

joy n said...

Sugar is the only female left that I do like.

Delee said...

I have liked Sugar from the start, but hope she feels the shiver up her spine and uses the Idol when she should.

joy n said...

I just loved Randy's "comeuppance". He sooo deserved it.

Delee said...

I wondered why Randy lasted as long as he did. Usually the thorn is gone faster than he was.

joy n said...

Yes, Sugar needs to focus and trust her own instincts.

Delee said...

Was it a bit warmer today for you? Was in the 40's here, felt so good. Plus no flurries for at least once in a week.

joy n said...

Bet those girls can't wait to get home and shave. Ewww!

Delee said...

Corrine is a major B**ch!

joy n said...

And Corinne knows nothing about kindness at all. Randy, either.

Delee said...

HAHA wish I never had to shave again!!!

Delee said...

After those clips I have a new want out...Corrine

Delee said...

Randy was a cookie worth it?

joy n said...

Yes, Delee, (I think I'm on a two minute delay here) it was in the 40's here, too, and no snow. Cloudy, but nice.

Delee said...

Did u read realitytvworld with Randy's interview? He knew the idol Bob gave him was probably fake, yet he went with it. Why? Just plain crazy.

joy n said...

Randy was so pi**ed. Did you see those darting eyes while he waited for his torch to get snuffed? Tee,hee.hee!

Delee said...

Hate to think if this is Nov weather, can not wait for Jan. Brrr. I did not bring my snow shovel up until about Christmas last year and it is out now.

Well Joyn was a pleasure and I know Jackie was lurking to delete inappropiate content, but the echoes as you mentioned were amazing. HAHA

Delee said...

He had a plan and it back-fired. You ask to be voted out, guess what I would do it.

joy n said...

I read that. And I don't believe that he knew. I think that's why he looked so peeved as he left tribal. He KNEW he'd been screwed, and it was too late.

Delee said...

Bet the joy was families for the reward.

OK Joy, a sweet goodnight and Jackie same to you!

WOW we had over 50 comments between us!

joy n said...

Hope you're right and it is family.

Thanks for the place to comment, as always, Jackie, even if it was a small crowd this evening.

joy n said...

G'nite, Delee and Jackie.

Off topic: Last night's Top Chef Thanksgiving challenge took place in my hometown of Rochester, NY. Shots of the Foo Fighters, the airport, Blue Cross Arena and Hegedorn's (a much loved supermarket here) were kind of neat to see. Must have been taped a while ago. Everybody looked warm.

Wasn't bad looking at David Grohl, either.

Laurie said...

Hi everyone! I'm not watching the show tonight so it was fun to read your comments.

Joyn, I was sorry to see Richard from San Diego go last night on Top Chef and glad to see the lady who cooked the turkey do something right this week. Were you surprised the winner of the cookfire got to choose her whole team and then the others were a team? I was. That seemed unfair.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Dessert may wait for tomorrow at our house!

Laurie said...

I forgot to ask. Did anyone catch Rosie's variety show last night? We taped it and watched a bit of it today. A.W.F.U.L. ... that's my opinion! Waste of time and it will be gone soon, I hope!

PDX Granny said...

Finally!! I now know where Sugar came up with the new clothes!!

Starstorm said...

Crystal rocks! I hope she goes all the way! And Charlie u r a babe! U can eat crackers in my bed anytime!

dla said...

Hi everyone!

Several thoughts after watching the clips tonight...

I should change my blogger name to "AnyoneButCorinne"!!! Never liked her, and I really really don't like her now. :)

Randy WISHES that he knew the idol was fake before he played it.

Sugar has much more G-A-M-E than anyone gave her credit for in the beginning... And, while Kenny did exaggerate in his tales about Ace, I also believe that Ace would have done anything to get that idol from Sugar, so it was probably a very strategic move that she got rid of him before he went after her. It was just a matter of time.

The leeches made me crazy. I would not go near the water after seeing those things on the guys.

Crystal has shown zero athletic prowess for being an Olympic gold medal winner.

Have a great weekend, and see you next week!

Corrin is one nasty over educated thinks-too-much-of-herself gal.
give me Sugar anytime!

joy n said...

Laurie, I thought that whole cookfire team winner thing stunk too.

And I tried to watch Rosie's new show and couldn't even get past the monlogue. I doubt it will be around long.

Terry, Corinne is definitely too full of herself. Why is she so angry and hateful? Can't figure that out.

Laurie said...

joy n, my husband wanted to watch the Rosie show when it was being broadcast and I said we should tape it. Thank heavens. We got thru that really quickly last night. I used to really like her when she first had her daytime talk show. She even called my girlfriend when my friend was dying from breast cancer, but she has really gotten too full of herself and out of touch with real life, IMO.

Glad to know you didn't like the way the teams were chosen on TC either. There should have been a second "chooser" so some of those egos could be split up. Oh well, they didn't ask me for help with the show, did they?

Jennasmom -- I got your request for gifts for the 92 year old w/ Alz in your life. I have an 88 year old in mine -- my mom. I have some ideas, but I will write them to you if that's OK. I also left several suggestions for older folks on the comment section of Lynn1's blog last week under her post titled something like Santa's Little Helper...

I always forget they do a Survivor on Thx nite and always am surprised to see it's a recap show. WHY IS THAT?

Happy black Friday all!

Sydney said...

My sister was here for three days and she was like what ARE you doing on that computer all the time? And then I sign on and see all of you also managed to get on and write a little all thru the holidays! Thank goodness I am not alone!

As Joy said, I don't mind the Survivor recaps as there's always something new and I like to review --especialyl because I miss so much live blogging!

Laurie, thanks for the confirmation about Rosie's show. I'm done with anything Roise, and have been for a long time. She is just too angry for me.

Anonymous said...

I just read that the ratings backed up what you have said here about Rosie. I have been trying to catch up with my recorded TV. I am waiting to see the recap of Survivor until my husband is home. We didn't see the first few episodes, so the recap might actually help us for once! We think Sugar looks like Pebbles in her animal print.

Today I did watch several episodes of The Unit. I like that show and that it combines the homefront with the military action. But, it is too intense to watch back to back for me! LOL I only started watching it this season, so it is all new to me and I am still learning their names. I watched some football (Arkansas vs LSU)and cleaned up some of the holiday clutter.

I have a turkey cassarole in the oven now and am hoping someone will finish up the rest of the leftovers soon.

I used to love Rosie, even sometimes in her battles with Elizabeth on The View. I sided with her for the most part through all her trials with the Trumpster, but I now sadly agree with you both. She seems almost militant in her causes, both full of herself and full of hate. A little power can change a person.

Laurie said...

Joy, I used to love her too. In fact, people used to say she reminded them of me with her self-depracating wit and pretty smile.

For whatever reason, she has turned bitter, angry and mean-spirited as she gets older. I'm sad about that because I think she is really hurting inside. She acts that out ... and it's not pretty!

Delee said...

Dang typed a long entry and hit submit and got something about duplicates. HUH

PDX Granny said...

Count me in with the rest of you former Rosie lovers. I used to like her too. Now, not so much! Although I always watched and waited to see what the next fireworks would be between her and Elisabeth on the View, I think that's where my feelings began to change. I agree, she just seems angry and bitter now. I wasn't even the least bit interested in her new show.

Did anyone make it to the sales this morning? I did!! I was parking my car at 3:45 outside Kohl's. I hit 4 stores, finished my Christmas shopping, and made it to work by 7:40. Now all I need to do is get stocking stuffers and wrap. Every year I say I'm going to get that done ahead of time, and every year I'm sitting up late Christmas Eve with a glass of wine, wrapping and wrapping and wrapping!

Fortunately, I didn't run into the kind of crowds like those at the Wal-Mart in NY. My heart goes out to the family of the man crushed by the shoppers.

Laurie said...

Well, Elaine, my hat is off to you! I slept until 9 am ... no sales for me. I did order a few things yesterday online, taking advantage of discounted prices and no shipping charges. We are having a simple Christmas this year, so I may be done.

Jennasmom said...

Gas Watch: $1.67 today in San Antonio area!

Jennasmom said...

I'm with you, Laurie. We all slept until 9 am, too. I bought my stuff weeks ago. I don't do crowds! My little one always seems to want Santa to bring something hard to find, so I go online early to search.
Stories like the Toys R Us shooting & the WalMart death today just reinforce why I don't do Black Friday. Too many crazies out there!

dla said...

I don't really care much for Rosie anymore, but decided to give her show a try (as there was NOTHING else on). I made it exactly 8 minutes, and, was appalled for at least 5 of those 8 minutes...

Not my thing. That was not pretty.

joy n said...

No shopping for me on Black Fridays either. Like Jennasmom, I don't like the crowds or the search for a parking space.

A nice easy supper of leftovers and another day of vacation.

Another great Thanksgiving!

Anonymous said...

Whew!! I am still recovering from Thanksgiving.

Right now, it looks like Christmas threw up in my house....the tree is up but not decorated, winter village unwrapped, presents all over my bedroom, and Christmas decorations everywhere!! I think I am going to be busy the next few days.

My dance group is coming over for a potluck and game of pictionary next week so I want my house decorated by then.

I slept until 8 and then hit the stores....mainly Fred Meyer for their 1/2 price sock sale. I did get most of my shopping done. Only a few stocking stuffers left to get.

We tried to go see Austrailia(Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman) yesterday but it was sold out. I guess we will wait until next weekend. We are playing Uno Attack with my sis, cousin, and hubbys tonight.

I'm with the rest of you on Rosie....I used to love her and was so happy when she joined The View. However, she really does have some mental health issues and I feel sad for her children being raised in that bitter angry environment. Hopefully, Kelly keeps her balanced at home. I didn't even bother to watch her show.

One more turkey sandwich for lunch today and the leftovers should be gone....gobble, gobble, gobble!

Sydney said...

Well, ALl of you have done so much shopping already! Good for you all. I have been jamming on doing my gift suggestions on my blog but maybe I'd better slow down on it, lol.

We saw Australia last night (meh, I'm not a huge fan of Baz Luhrman... but it is a visual spectacle). There are a few good love scene moments and you will shed a tear.

Also saw a movie called Let The Right One In, a swedish movie about a lonely 12 year old boy and a girl his age who moves in next door. That's been on my mind since we saw it. It's a vampire movie, but not like any you've seen before.

Nana -- died laughing when you said it looked like x-mas threw up in your house. So perfectly described! We have enough turkey to last' til Tuesday, ugh. Took the Halloween/Thx decor to storage and got our X-mas stuff out. But I am pooped and am going to leave it for later.

Saw gas for as low as $2.49 here, though it's between $1.69-1.99 most places.

Anonymous said...

Good description about Christmas. throwing up sounds about right.

Gas $1.55 here

Gonna use the last of the turkey to put in some soup for comfort food for this cold and rainey weather we are having here.

Sydney said...

sorry -- correction -- obviously (I hope) I meant saw gas as low as $1.49 here, not $2.49.

Started to rain here in Houston too, and is a little chilly, thankfully. Just doesn't feel right to have Thanksgiving with humidity.

Sydney said...

awfully quiet online these days. Hopeyou're getting a nice little break from work Jackie!

Jackie S. said...

Alas, no real break from work for me. I had Thursday off but worked Friday and Saturday.

meb said...

Bummer Jackie... I didn't realize you also work on Saturday. That's a real YUCK!

I have been sitting watching Lifetime movies all day after I got home from church. One I turned off and went to something else, but a few of them (all being Christmasy) are pretty good. A laugh here and a tear there. I get really sentimental over the holidays.

Linda Hamilton is on right now, and she really looks old. All that staying so athletic for the Terminator has taken it's toll on her since she didn't keep it up.

Her Uncle was a Surgeon at the hospital where I worked. Terri Polo is from my hometown and Raymond Burr's (Perry Mason) wife
was also from my hometown. After their divorce she came home. She was a great actress. Better than he was in my opinion.

Now how I got into all this is a mystery.

Have a great day tomorrow... start my 6th round of Chemo at 9:00am. Poor little fingers... Not going to bother me this time!!! So it is written, so it be done! Man..I'm really being silly tonight. Need to get back to my movies.

joy n said...

Meb, good luck with that chemo tomorrow.
