Monday, Monday

Baby, it's cold outside. Above I found some rabbit tracks in the snow. Below, it's one of the decorative kale taken this afternoon just before sunset. As always, clicking on the image will open it in a larger window. We had about four inches of snow followed by ice and rain Saturday night into Sunday. Now we're in a deep freeze with the expected high on Thursday to be about 10 degrees.

My Reality Clack column and Cold Case review are both up over at CliqueClack TV. Later tonight, I'll be posting a review of The Big Bang Theory over there, too. I know you all enjoy eating, so I should let you know that we now have a CliqueClack food site!

On television tonight, don't forget it's The Bachelor and we have the perfect meeting spot for you to hang out with your friends during or after the show. Make sure you go to the newest discussion post and, if you spill things, the mop is in the water closet.

Please try to stay warm, folks. Brr! (A cat or dog comes in real handy for added heat!)

Today's musical non sequitur:
Ice ice baby vanilla

Ice ice baby (oh-oh) vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla ice
Yo man let's get out of here
Word to your mother
-- "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice
I couldn't resist!

I'm in a quandry. I have two things taping tonight and Bachelor isn't one of them, so I can't watch it. I have to watch one of the ones that is recording, which is silly... why am I recording it if I'm watching it... but that's the way the DVR goes...

Oh well, I'll come onto the site and see what everybody says about Bachelor. Maybe they'll repeat it like they did the premier and I'll catch it then.

Maybe I'll try to watch it online.

What's the weird channel you can watch things on as they happen?

That kale is looking pretty grim Jackie... well I did use the word pretty... since I've had nothing but compliments on the kale so far.

Love seeing the snow... just glad I ain't in it. No snow yet in NC. Hope it stays that way. Is going to get cold around mid week. YUK. Don't like this cold weather!

meb - I think Bachelor repeats itself on Fridays...check w/your locals, cuz I'm not sure.

The weather by me has been a rollercoaster: 60 one day, 20 the next and so on & on... I wish it'd snow & stay nice, clean & cold for at least a coupla weeks!

I can't wait to see The Wrestler! has anyone caught it yet? It doesn't open by me until this weekend.

Never heard of the "Wrestler" until O'Rourke won a GG.

They are talking below zero for sometime later this week, ugh.

Has anyone else had the crud that keeps you coughing forever and ever? I feel so so then bad then so so. Just will not go away?

Delee, if you have an upper respiratory infection, you'll need an antibiotic to kick it. Don't let it turn into pneumonia.

It's going to cold for us this week too. Highs in the 30s is freezing cold here.

I'll be watching the two hour second night of 24. I am hoping my son has all the CBS shows we watch taping in his room as I don't have a DVR here.

As for the crud, Delee, oh yes!! I had a sore throat Christmas eve and finally New Year's Eve I got bronkitis, sinus infection and pressure behind my ears. I had 2 shots, an oral antibiotic, cough medicine, Z-pac and a decongestant. Just finished them today and I feel okay just still have drainage and coughing.

Oh, this Bachelor is making me sick. Such a NON man! I can tell you guys, you guys are my pals.

What a weenie! So desperate. Everyone goes on & on about the girls being desperate, but I think HE is more so than the women! After all, hasn't he claimed to "fall in hopeless, everlasting love" three times in 2 years? geesh

Anonymous said...

delee- My hubby has had the crud for over 3 weeks! He has done the Z-pack, cough medicine, and decongestants. He gets better, than worse, than better, than worse. I finally made him go sleep in the extra bedroom....I'm doing just fine!

petals--I so agree about Benjamin Button. I kept comparing it to Gump because of your comments(which were accurate). It was about 30 minutes too long and really drug in parts. I thought they spent way too much time on the first half of his life.

Jackie--the snow pic with rabbit tracks reminded me of a few weeks ago. We had alot of snow and every morning I would see raccoon tracks going from the tree in the backyard to the tree in the front. I am so done with snow and ice and water(flooding)!

meb--I know what you mean about the DVR. It's great to tape two shows but than you do have watch one! It is frustrating but what's a girl to do.....

I'm going to hop over the Bachelor and see what's happening.

24 is MAGNIFICIENT entertainment. You have to stay with it every minute and the action is second to none! Now I can't wait until next week, but the 4 hours of it last night and tonight were superb!

Suspense is my thing...

Donna in Alabama said...

Oh yes MEB, I totally agree! I love 24 and Keifer Sutherland, great suspense usually for the entire season.

RBennie said...

I'm with you MEB and Donna, 24 is awesome! I loved every minute of the 4 hour premiere. I was trying to catch a little of the Bachelor and Superstars of Dance, but you really can't afford to miss a minute of 24 or you can get lost. I couldn't DVR either of them because I had to tape Secret Life of an Amer. Teen for my daughter, LOL. I will try to catch up on Bachelor online. I think I can give up on Superstars of Dance, it just is not doing it for me.

RBennie said...

Oh, btw, so glad Tony's not really a bad guy!

lynn1 said...

I am a big fan of 24 too. It is such a well written and acted show.
I find it interesting that they chose to have a woman president this season. I wonder if when it was written they thought Hillary Clinton would be the next president.
Who do you think is the Leak in the FBI?
I have changed my mind at least 3 times on who the FBI bad guy or gal is.

RBennie said...

I was thinking the same thing about the woman president Lynn. But then again, they've already had a black president 2 seasons ago, LOL. I was so glad to see Chloe last night. I think I like her even more than Jack. It looks like we're going to have a little computer geek rivalry going on, but I'll put my money on Chloe to come out on top.

Have you seen any of True Beauty? What surprised me most about it is that it is on ABC instead of one of the lesser channels. I only saw 10 minutes of last week's episode. When a contestant goes home, they take their portrait off the wall, put it in a trash can and wheel it away. That is harsh.

Cheryl Tiegs is on it. But, she looks odd. I always liked her and especially her Hallmark movie acting.

Donna in Alabama said...

I too am glad Tony is not the bad guy, I liked him before. Chloe is the best and I hope they don't mess with her character. My son was surprised at the actress playing the other geek, I didn't get that though.
It will probably end up being the boss of the FBI as the leak, the way 24 usually goes.

RBennie said...

Yes Donna, I too was surprised to see Janeane Garofalo turn up on 24. She is really more of a movie actress and you don't see her much on tv. She can play ascerbic every bit as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub. It should be fun to see these two go at it.

Petals said...

I wish I could get on the 24 bandwagon, but I just abhor scripted suspense. Mom & I have been true crim fans for decades, so this scripted suspense stuff & politicomelodrama just doesn't hold my interest.
Love Snapped, tho. hehe, a guilty pleasure. And Forensic Files.

Delee, that is what hit my husband the Monday after Thanksgiving and kept him in bed two weeks. I came down with it right after he "got well" and was in bed a week.

It is some kind of bronchitis viral infection and it is sweeping the country. We both still have our cough.

Sizzie, I watched True Beauty last night. This will be a one season wonder because if the select anyone with half a brain they will be aware of what they are looking for.

The girl last night deserved the boot. And the guy was almost as bad. They resorted to fraud to get clothes. The third member of their team kept trying to stop them, but the girl was really into it.

There are worse things out there so I will probably watch again.

Guess I will post my Bachelor comments/question here.

I don't think I will be a regular viewer. Find it hard to believe that someone can fall in love so easily. Agree about the Bachelor this year being as desperate as the women. He is a cutie, but something is off.

Now for my question: Do they ALWAYS have a drink in their hand. They even had drinks in the pool. I don't think it is soft drinks in those glasses.

Margo, I have been playing 'that game' you posted. I love it! Thanks

Donna in Alabama said...

Me too Margo...it's a great game to play at work!

you are most welcome. I love to share a good thing.

Becky, I personally would welcome your Bachelor comments, as I have that "connection" to this season.

My pal told me that the producers pushed the alcohol, and kept the girls sleep-deprived.

Thank you for all the info. I fight going to a DR until I can not fight it any longer. I have 2 health insurance so just stubborn.

This started around Christmas and was manageable until a few days ago. I noticed more and more shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing. That is what scared me, since I live alone. So I luckily got a DR appt today. He said it had settled into asthmatic broncitis. So I am on a Z pac/Inhalator and Prednisone. I return to him next week.

Guess this was NOT going to get better with fluids/bed rest and over the counter meds.

Hmmmmm? I thought I'd find an AI post here tonight. Did I make a wrong turn? It serves me right for not keeping up much. I didn't see a sidebar AI link either.

After reading about the severe winter temps and snow I'm now worrying if Jackie is all right. I hope there's not a power outtage in the NY area.

I missed The Bachelor last night and will try to watch online...join me Meb? I'm curious as to why DeAnna is back.

Becky, Delee and Donna...

This sounds exactly like the (killer flu) influenza that I was battling before and after Christmas. I still have the cough but it's not nearly as bad as it was. It's a very slow and long recovery. I probably should have seen my doctor early on but didn't think an antibiotic would help a viral infection. It's good you didn't wait too long to see your doctor. Feel better soon!

Nana...

Sorry your hub has been sick. I hope you dodge it. Stay warm and well!

Meb...

"24" was riveting! My hub is more of a fan than I am but the first two episodes were great. Isn't it ironic that we have a female president on 24.

Jackie...

Hope all is well over there. I just finished a new AI logo for you and will send later.

Does anyone watch "Damages"? It's absolutely capitivating.

AI starts in 10 minutes so going to watch now.

Take good care all!
Ciao~

The Kale! The Kale! It's back -- Jackie I don't know if you got a chance to see the homage to you and the Kale on my Looky Here blog but many of your loyal followers wrote nice things about you in the comments ;-)

Hi Zoe -- that WAS a LONG, Nasty thing you had that kept you away from us. You wer definitely missed -- and yet, you somehow still managed to get your fabulous graphics to Jackie. Don't know how you do it.

I watched the first season on 24 and am amazed they can keep a one day theme going for several years, but apparently I am missing out since you are all raving about it. I'm so glad it's good, as we know how disappointing it is when great shows become not so great...

PEtals I'm so psyched that you know Shannon because it just makes me a little more invested -- adn someone knows Emily -- I thin Nana or PDX? Interesting we feel Jason is desperate. I do think he wants someone in his life and yes, falls easily, but I do think he'll be a great husband. THis year we are guaranteed a proposal and probably a success story, unless the girl backs out in 6 months. Trista and Ryan may finally have some competition for happily ever after. And that would be great for the show, and our comments after the fact.
