The Amazing Race - "Alright Guys, We're at War!"

Jackie's TV Blog, Amazing Race, TAR

Sigh. It was too good to be true. So long without a delay and we really have one on the East Coast this week. Due to basketball, 60 Minutes started at 7:52 PM ET instead of 7:00 PM. Once TAR starts, this post will be updated with the major events and I'll be writing a full review of the show for TV Squad.

As always, the comments section is THE place to be!

8:52 PM ET and it's ON.

It's off to India!

Pit Stop --
1. Tammy and Victor -- Each won an ocean kayak
2. Mel and Mike!
3. Jen and Kisha
4. Margie and Luke
5. Jaime and Cara
6. Mark and Michael
7. Christie and Jodi - Philiminated

Not a happy camper here either. Will be back when the show starts.

Bummer. Nothing is going on here so I really thought we'd be on time. I'm going to go cry now.

This is the kind of nite that tests true TV addicts LOL
TAR, Celebrity Apprentice, Desperate Housewives & my WBC (baseball), plus a late start. I actually had a plan A & B, quickly switched to B when I saw the basketball was on.

Sydney said...

finally -- we've started here in Central time.

Sydney said...

peep city or Pink city?

Sydney said...

Oh India -- a lovely place!

Anonymous said...

LOL, auntlisa3. Yes, we are all addicts.

Glad that it has finally started. I have my VCR taping, Desperate Housewives, Tommy is trying to tape Apprentice and I am watching A-R.

Just hope everything "takes". Come on Mel, don't run out of steam now.

It's nice to pretty much like all the teams. There is enough drama from the challenges and races and sheer change of scenery. Don't need the people to be hideous to interest me...

Anonymous said...

No, no, no, no!!! Come on Mel and Mike. Move it, cab driver!

Oh, I knew it was going to hit the son hard. He is such a sensitive, sweet soul.

Sydney said...

DOn't cry Laurie -- It will make you more congested!

Hi Auntlisa3!

Delee said...

I am here but checking on Lufthansa flt landing soon. Daughter needs to pick up brother and g/f at Dulles. She relies on me to track the flight. LOL

I wonder why they go to India so much? Not the best place, esp the cities they visit there...

Pink, Sydney. You know Peep City was the outskirts of Times Square until Disneyization.

Sydney, I agree with you 100%. This is a nice, pleasant season so far.

I'm not crying anymore. But I will be eating. bRB

Hi all! I'm a old-time AOL poster (Jacki's old stomping grounds), long-time mostly lurker here. I swore off posting for a while after the stuff that went on over on the AOL boards (I see today many of them are closing LOL.) OK USA beating Japan 2-1 (Go David Wright... as a Yankee fan I don't often say that), I have 2 VCRs running & watching TAR & the game together. I can do this. I live for this!

Anonymous said...

What happened to Mel & Mike's cab? OK I gg, can't post too !!

Sydney said...

People drive in a single lane in both directions and essentially play chicken til someone moves over, and then you have to work around cows sitting in the road. They also honk as much as we don't it's a happy thing to honk all the time. I had a headache or motion sickness most of the time but I LOVED LOVED LOVED India. Spiritual epicenter. I could feel it in the air when I got off the plane.

Sydney said...

Don't let that camel spit on you! lol

Sydney said...

Jackie - lol, I just read your post!

Anonymous said...

Oh, Mel, you should have let Mike do it. I don't think he will have the stamina to finish the task.

Delee said...

Did you see that camel kick the dude off his feet? Hysterical!

Jackie S. said...

Good to see you AuntLisa3. I haven't been by the boards in forever, but you know folks who just want a fun group to post with can always come here!

Sydney said...

Well, the edit makes Mel look like he's doing a pretty good pace but all the comments seem to make it out to be slow slow slow.

Why not a basket for keesha?

Sydney said...

Aah, thank god for those who read the task!

Delee said...

I would never do the cycling one, unless you had super strong legs.

Dancing would be fun, but isn't India a poor country to get tips?

Anonymous said...

I hardly go over to the AOL boards anymore either, Jacki, but clicked on MyBoards today to find most of them say THIS MESSAGE BOARD WILL CLOSE ON 3/31. Not all of them, not sure what's going on.

Delee said...

Wonder what the penalty will be for so many using the pail instead of the basket...for part of the task?

Sydney said...

so are they going to count all the hay brought in by the metal buckets, now that people got with the baskets half way through?

Anonymous said...

Glad Mel read the instructions correctly. I can't believe he pulled it out!

I bet the blonds have to do both tasks.

Sydney said...

Delee, I thought it was hysterical that the camel could down a man with that little skinny leg!

That hay down the shirt is going to ITCH

Sydney said...

How the ladies sit side saddle on the back of bicycles in those saris without the thing getting caught in the spokes was a mystery to me.

Sydney said...

c'mon you pale folks, shake it!!!

Anonymous said...

Victor and Tammy rocked through the challanges.

Come on Mom and son!

Sydney said...

Hey, she said the honking is driving her up the wall.

Sydney said...

Oh wow, how fabulous to decorate an elephant!

Delee said...

YEAH US JACKIE Tammy and Victor numero uno!!!!!

Sydney said...

Look at Phil Bobbing his head to the dude playing the nose flutes, lol.

Sydney said...

That mother is so fabulous!

Sydney said...

Wow, the taxi has the redhead's bags!

Sydney said...

girls have a right to be made but were pretty rude starting at the camel feeding -- DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH? Um, yes they do in INdia, but you are in THEIR Country OK?

Sydney said...

uh oh, I hope my team -- mike and bro -- aren't going to fall behind the blondes!

Anonymous said...

Where are Mel and Mike? And mom and son?

The pretty girls should make money quickly. The other pretty ones did.

I would still be there dancing and begging!

Anonymous said...

I didn't like the rudeness either. I know that get excited, but manners, please. And inside voices.

Sydney said...

good for Dad and son! #2! They are growing on me every show!

Sydney said...

uh oh, I think there will be an elimination tonight. WIll my two guys be the ones to go? Or the blondes?

Sydney said...

well, at least the apprentice re=plays ever Sat night with more clips that tonight.

Anonymous said...

Good there are Mel and Mike. You know, I really like the way everyone keeps being polite with their partners. I think this is the first season I have liked all the teams and hate to see anyone sent home. The guys did well with their task, just had trouble finding the elephant. They did make it look like the guys were going to b e last

Sydney said... well, at least the apprentice re=plays ever Sat night with more clips that tonight.

Good. Now I will mark my TV Guide so I will watch it.

See you next show -- that is tomorrow night on DWTS, right? Meet you on the link Jackie set up for us.

Anonymous said...

This may not sound nice but I thought those nose flutes were ewwwwwwwwww!

Sydney said...

I agree, we ALL agree auntlisa.

Now to what's left of the apprentice! My husband looks just like Clint Black!

Sydney said...

He doesn't see it but they could be brothers easily, lol.

Anonymous said...

This IS a nice group Jackie. You done good! I don't know why I haven't posted much in the past (one reason: I always forget my google ID. nice to see I can sign in w/AOL now).

SueGee said...

Well, I had a feeling tonight would be the night....out of the pool!

Looking forward to watching the show soon here on the left coast,

SueGee (also a board monitor/chat host on AOL in a different life)

Laurie said...

Hi SueGee! Almost time for us to see the show now. Hope some of our other left coast buddies show up!

Sydney, you and your husband must make a very attractive couple!

Laurie said...

I do enjoy learning new words, but I'm not sure "aggressivity" is a real word!

VIBE for vibrant said...

Hello there friends! Just got home and am joining you from Vancouver Island. The show is half way through and I am enjoying watching them act out your comments. Ooooh, that one lady is talking about hay in her boobies and the cabbie does not seem to approve of such aggressive talk.

Laurie said...

Hi Nomad! Good show, wasn't it? Hard to see all the poverty in India but heartwarming to see it affected people. They will be changed because of this experience.

Jennasmom said...

Had to go to a fundraiser tonight & just now watched the show. Sydney & Meb - our boys, geesh! I wonder about their choices sometimes! At least they lived to race another day!

Half of these people just don't thoroughly read the clues. You'd think they would have learned from watching previous shows.

Auntlisa3 - I agree with the nose flute comment! EWWWWWWWW!

Sydney said...

SueGee, didn't know you were from aol too. So good to be joined by some of Jackie's longest and most loyal buds from then!

Laurie -- he doesn't see it but everyone tells him so. Especially when he puts on a big black hat (not often, but he has one).

Nomad, is Vancouver Island in .. Vanvouver?

Jennasmom -- I totally agree with you. They keep hanging in there but they seem to not make great decisions. THat makes them kind of comical to watch I suppose, court jesters.

Anonymous said...

Out of the pool, SueGee? I must be missing something. Did I know you in your former life?

Take a peek at the AOL boards. I haven't been paying much attention, but it was funny when I clicked on MyBoards & most of them said THIS BOARD IS CLOSING. Did they still have the member & aol-managed ones? Maybe it's the AOL ones that are closing. Actually they are replacing them with blogs. It seems to me that the OffTopic boards are the ones staying (we'll see for how long).

I'm exhausted from my tv nite LOL
One would think I'd be used to it by now!

**********TAR POOL UPDATE*********
Morning all - or should I say afternoon. I had some work stuff I had to do this morning and this is the first chance I have to check in. I hope you guys enjoyed the PEEP smores I left for you last night. I made dinner again last night for my wounded niece and her family. We had parmesan crusted chicken w/ wild rice and green beans. We also saved room and finally had PEEP smores for dessert. We used to much chocolate so they were extra messy - but they were yummy.

Well on to the show -
Christie and Jodi, Zoetawny and SueGee you are the last team to arrive - I'm sorry to tell you - you have been Philiminated.

Cara & Jaime – Nana in NW, Monty924 & Donna in AL
Mark & Michael – Sydney, Jennasmom & MEB
Tammy & Victor – Rbennie & Delee & Dusty
LaKisha & Jennifer – KarenJC & Patti
Margie & Luke – PDX Granny & Jeannemarie
Mel & Mike – Jackie & Becky

Jennifer & Preston – Donna in FL, Karen & Leslie
Linda & Steve – Laurie, Nomad & Margo
Brad & Victoria – Rozee & ORKMommy
Amanda & Kris – Caroline, Sizzie & Lynn1
Christie & Jodi – Zoetawny & SueGee

Oh wow it looks like Margie has a really bad day next week. I hope someone can convey to Luke what is going on - he looks like he is freaking out.

I'll see you tonite on the DWTS post. Go WOZ.

Margo

On Elimination Station, Christie and Jodie told Kris and Amanda that it was Margie and Luke who had U-turned them. K & A were shocked and unhappy to hear it was them. Amanda says M & L lied to them.

Jennsmom and Sydney... our boys (as Jennasmom puts it) make me so nervous. Let's face it, they barely beat out the girls who had an additional task to conquer, so they almost were last. I wish they weren't so lackadaisical about it all.

Riding those bikes and lugging those barrels around wasn't so difficult, but finding the elephant was. And how did they make sure that they had chosen the right bike, that had an elephant in it, since they only found one??? What if they had picked two bikes without the "prize". Guess they wouldn't have let that happen, but still????
