American Idol Results Show 3/18

Jackie's TV Blog, American Idol

Oh my. I'm a bit surprised, aren't you? The bottom three were Allison, Alexis, and Michael Sarver. Now, I thought Michael didn't do well with his song even though he's a country genre kind of singer.

Allison was sent back to the chairs first leaving it between Michael and Alexis. Meanwhile, the judges said they might use the save if "one" of them was to be going home. I thought at the time they meant they'd save Alexis but Michael was surely the one to be sent packing.

Nuh-uh! Michael Sarver (somehow) is safe! After hearing Alexis sing "Jolene" again, the judges declined to save her. Yikes.

I am surprised it was not Michael but I must admit I have not been a fan of Alexis.
I don't think the judges were serious about using their vote for the bottom two. I do believe they might have used it to save Allison. She has real talent and star power IMO.

I loved that song that Carrie and Randy sang.

I saw who went home, but have not watched result shows for a long time. One hour is too long.

Now Criminal Minds was mind-blowing tonight and the guy is loose. We can bet we will see him again!!! I think it was one of the most spine-chilling yet.

I have to agree with Lynn1 on the judges tonight. It was weird watching them all in a huddle while she was singing. To me, it seemed unfair. She was singing her heart out and trying to impress them, and she actually ended up singing it worse than last night.

I dont' think she stood a chance of winning this, but that was awkward. I'm actually happy that Michael stayed in to the tour. He's another that will NOT win this but his family could use the opportunity that this affords him.

I'm happy with the vote off this week even though Alexis had so much talent. On a side note... my 81 year old mother couldn't understand why she had pink in her hair! :) I tried to explain that streaks of pink are cool now, but she wasn't buying it. She also laughed her you know what off when I played the Adam Lambert youtube for her tonight. She loves Johnny Cash as well, and I can only say that she had tears in her eyes laughing at that rendition of HIS classic.

I only have one question... why wasn't that an UNTOUCHABLE song?

Rest in Peace Natasha Richardson. Reminds me to try better to enjoy every moment.

I hope her family finds strength in the hours, days and months ahead.

My husband says he won't watch anymore if they are going to keep Michael & quirky Megan over Alexis. And he is sick of Danny. I'm tiring of him, too. I hate to say this, but I kind of liked Adam's version of "Ring of Fire." He's a bit weird for my taste, but he made the best of country night & kept true to who he is. He'd have looked really stupid trying to sound country. I really liked Anoop this week. But he still looks more like an engineering student than a pop star. Sydney, I think both Anoop & Matt could use some of your stylist tips!

One question: what was that thing in Carrie's hair??

Didn't get to watch this last night. Am surprised that Alexis went home. Should have been any one of the other's who can't sing. Guess it's all in the fan base at this point.

My sympathies go out to Liam Neeson (spelling) and their families. Natasha was so young. This has to be very difficult for all concerned.

OFF TOPIC: I guess I have good news for me, that some of you may not know, but I AM CANCER FREE!
Praise God! No more anything and I get checked out in a year to prove nothing has reared it's ugly head. Just thought you might want to know.

I thought Michael should leave before Alexis, but neither one had much chance of winning. I was really surprised to see Allison in bottom 3. I really thought it would be Megan going home this week, or should I say hoping. The girls are dropping like flies; only 3 left now. I think Danny, Allison and Adam are the only ones those judges will possibly use the save on.

Congrats Meb-

That is very exciting.

Back to AI - I was shocked when I switched over to watch AI - meaning jumped to the end to see who got voted off. I think it is so totally unfair to vote people off during country week. It is not their (10 out of the 11) genra. I think we should protest - no more country week!!!

Meb -- I saw you put up an entry on your blog about your good news and I commented there but I just had to say again -- YIPPEE! that is such HUGE news!

Sydney, blame Petals, she started me hunting for them with her holiday ones. I thank you for liking it.

Survivor withdraw tonight! :-(

Meb again, just marvelous news, we can not tell you that too often.

I have some huge news! I am off to Ireland, April 7th until the 17th. I am going with my Dad and Conny. This was decided yesterday so I am in a tizzy thinking what I have to do here and to go. I did not want to go since I have to lay out $$$ like crazy in Apr to the IRS. Divorce sucks when you become a single and not enough is taken out, because you had no idea how much is owed. OK enough of that. But my Dad said he would pay, yippee even though I could afford my share. I think they wanted me along so I can drive the manual and the wrong side of the road (have done it before).

I will take many pictures and post on my blog after I get back. Thank goodness for tivo so I do not miss my shows!

I could totally understand them sending her home and not saving her. She's good, she has a look, but she broke under the pressure..she didnt do well at all on her chance at a rescue.
I think she just needs some more time to train herself...and I think someone will pick her up and we will see more of her.

Congratulations MEB! I watched Lost last night (with Donna). The two of us were the only ones at the discussion link. I never think I can be more lost until after I watch a show! LOL

I taped Criminal Minds last night and watched it tonight. It was an excellent show, like Delee said, mind blowing,spine-chilling. Someone once mentioned the type of minds that must write this show. SCAREY!!! I have to admit this is one of my favorite shows.

Scott should have been voted off. He's not that good and he sang off key a bit. I hope he is not getting the pity votes. I know I wouldn't want that.

Adam's song reminded me of Jim Morrison in the 60's. I had flashbacks of the 60's when he sang that song.

I am sorry to see Alexis go. She had one so-so night, but others are much worse.

PS.... what the heck did Carrie Underwood do to her hair?? She looked like a contestant in a beauty pagent. :-/

Delee..great travel news!

I can't believe the judges called Danny "brilliant" when the whole first half of his performance was awful! I'm getting tired of the dead wife story, too. I'm sorry for him, but I think he & Scott are both getting a lot of sympathy votes. Sorry to see Alexis go. I think she had potential. Now will pull for Allison & Adam. Both really rock!

I thought Carrie's hair looked like Tammy Wynette's back in the old days.

delee... Ireland... WOW! Can I go... you're dad would have to pay for me too... LOL

Thanks for all the well wishes. I really appreciate them.
