TV, No TAR, and Stuff

Now, there's some New Jersey love if I ever saw New Jersey love, eh? Actually, it's rather foolish placement of an advertising sign with its bottom half behind the bench at the Dunellen (NJ) Train Station. The bottom half is WPIX Channel 11 Morning News. (Clicking on any of the images will open them larger in a new window.)

Onto some TV doings --

I was a bit disappointed that Bonnie Hunt didn't have Mike and Mel from The Amazing Race on her show this week. I could have gone without seeing Christie and Jodi the week before. I'm at work while The Bonnie Hunt Show is on, but I record it every day. Buddy TV ran an interview with them. I'm surprised to hear that Mike is a vegan and barely ate during the race. Here I was feeling all kinds of sorry for Mel due to his age and injuries (yet amazing perseverance) and Mike's not eating! I find it interesting to see that they thought Margie and Luke are more sneaky a team than shown.

I did watch Lost this week, but found it a bit confusing. I was tired when I watched it. Perhaps my mind just wasn't working quite right. Maybe the Lost Entangled will help me out.

I watched the finale of Life on Mars and got confused by that, too. A mind is a terrible thing to lose. Okay, they're really from Mars and it was all just a mission? Odd.

Taj needs to stop taking chances on Survivor! After all, she's my castaway in the blog pool! Sheesh!

Roofus was fast asleep in the gloomy fog near the Plainfield Train Station yesterday on my way to work.

Although it's been a bit on the cold side most days, spring has sprung. Achoo!

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone
-- "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day

I thought the song went nicely with the photo I took walking to the train station pre-dawn ... which I did a few times this week. Every Monday lately, I've been going in early to work and I had to a few other days, too.

There is no Amazing Race nor a Cold Case tonight. But I'll be writing up my Reality Clack column for CliqueClack TV and I have an article in mind for TV Squad, too. At least I won't have the pressure of writing up two shows knowing I have to get up before 5 AM.

SOB, I'll miss you all tonight, but this now makes me even happier about the fact that we are having dinner at a friends this evening (on their patio grilling before the heat hits in houston). I thought we were going to have to tivo it.

Roofie! Yay!

As always, happy to see Roofus doing well. Someone removed the teddy bear from the (left) window just below him.

Drats, I had forgotten AR was not on tonight...so sad!!!

The forsythia is starting to bloom here and the grass is slowly greening up. I will miss seeing my spring flowers in bloom, which is really making blue as they look like they will be great this year.

Till I see you all on the 19th for AR,be safe-be healthy and enjoy the warming weather.

Jackie..Finally someone else who watched Life on Mars. I have been wanting to mention the ending. I was disappointed in it. Especially since that far in the future the universe, apparently, is still waiting for a cure for cancer. I thought it a cop out, like Bobby in the Shower for Dallas. oh well. At least it had an ending.

Jackie,
Are you feeling better?
Hope so!

What? No TAR tonight? Say it isn't so!! All day I've been looking forward to it and here I am, fashionably late for a party that isn't happening. *sigh*

Nice pics, as usual, Jackie. I love seeing slices of your life through your pictures. Hope you are feeling better.

I watched every episode of Life on Mars too. With this ending, does that mean there will not be a second season? I don't think it will hold the appeal knowing what we now know.

Sydney, I thought you were calling someone a SOB but you were just saying sob! ha ha

Donna, I read that Life on Mars had been canceled. Add it to the ever-growing list of shows that have been canceled after one or two seasons. ;(

I watched Lipstick Jungle, Dirty Sexy Money, Trust Me (just to name a few) and they have died or will die after this season.

This is making me hesitant about investing in any new shows, as they seem to appear and disappear so quickly.

Mornin All-

I watched the last 2 episodes of Life on Mars yesterday and was so disappointed in the ending. I totally agree it was like Bobby in the shower. I felt as if I had wasted so much of my time trying to find the meaning and then wham into the future - he really is a space man. My thoughts then and now - STUPID.

I like the new Castle and I have the Unusuals set up to tape - but I have no confidence that ABC won't cancel them way before there time. Let me see - Men in Trees, Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies to name a few that left episodes unaired. But Private Practice and According to Jim gets to just sail on thru - what is up with that.
I'm done ranting - hope you all have a nice day. It is snowing here with a high of 38. Glad I'm not going to opening day!

If you don't see them, I'll get caught up after next week's episode.

Yes Margo ! I have never understood the appeal of According to Jim. I also got caught hanging when Nine, Kidnapped, and the time travel one went off the air.

Hi all!

Just stopped by to let you know what's going on. I haven't been much in the mood to discuss TV shows lately.

My stepson has had some setbacks and the marrow transplant has been postponed. He has to endure another more intense round of chemo. He has to be in remission before he is eligible for the transplant and the cancer came back a couple of weeks before he was to be admitted for the transplant. We are still hopeful that he can beat this.

If that wasn't enough, my dog, Shadow, 6 years old, is having surgery for a mast cell tumor, cancer, as I type. We took him to the vet last week because he was squinting his eye and I wanted to make sure he didn't have a scratched cornea. It was very windy here last week. Shadow had an innocuous little bump smaller than the size of a dime on his back and I pointed it out to the vet and asked what it was. The vet inserted a needle left the room to analyze it on a slide under the microscope and came back into the room and said it was cancer. It shocked the heck out of me. We scheduled Shadow for surgical removal of the tumor asap.

I just called the vet's office but they told me to call back at 3 p.m. I'm freaking out not knowing how the surgery went. We won't know if the cancer has spread to any other organs until the sample is sent out for analysis determine the grade and stage. ::::sigh::::

Sorry I haven't been in more of a cheery mood lately.

Hope all is well with everyone here.

Later~

Oh Zoe--- We have all been wondering about your stepson and thinking of your whole family. I am so sorry to hear that he had to postpone the bone marrow treatment.

To now have your beloved doggie be sick -- girl, you have just not gotten a break. And yet you continue through all of this to make up more and more amazing graphics for us all here. I know doing something like that can bring some relief from all the heavier stuff going on. We appreciate you!!

I'm just praying for your strength and for healing to go on all around you. I'm glad you wrote in. Whatever you have to say, your presence is missed. If you're up to it, please check in more often so you can get support from your friends here.
