So You Think You Can Dance Blog Discussion

It's the 5th season of So You Think You Can Dance and here's your place to chat about the show with your friends ... even if you know you can't dance, or you can dance, but you could never do THAT! I don't blog about this show on a regular basis, but I'm a fan. I'll be joining you in comments, for sure.

Jump aboard -- we're all hot tamales on this train!

Okay, I do not watch this but dropped in to offer drinks for my blog friends. Where are they all? I know several said they are watching. They probably recorded it and will watch later, that sucks for blogging though.
Guess I will have to drink all this by myself....awww well.

Donna, the show doesn't begin for another 2 hours in my world, but I would love a refreshing mojito if you are still serving... :)

May as well get in the mood, so to speak!

They're now in Memphis. This one cop was very entertaining. It's hard to comment on the audition phases.

Pass that beverage this way, please.

I'm not so impressed by that guy they put thru to Vegas. The one they said was big and tall like a giraffe, but had the strength of a hamster. He seemed like he needed another year of proper training before being allowed to compete.

The girls they sent through looked really exciting though. The sisters... one audition in Miami and one in Memphis, really look great... especially the second one who Mary told "this is your destiny".

African dance guy was scaaaary!!!!

Yep donna in al... taped it and haven't watched it yet. Will watch tonight tho. I still like the show and thought the first group of auditions was excellent since they didn't over-do on the bad dancers.

Big Brother's 11th season premieres on July 9 at 8pm. Julie will be hosting at 6 months of pregnancy and Allison is still producing it.

Well, this was bad dancer auditions. And looks like Nigel has had it next week cause he's telling them if they can't dance don't waste his time (paraphrasing).

I thought Mary overdid it a little with the African dancer...she actually dug her nails into Nigel. I hope she doesn't get to carried away with her "screaming" thing... it really gets on my nerves.

You have to admit tho, some of those kids can really dance. I love watching the good ones go through their solos. And yes, I thought they were pushing it putting the "giraffe" through, altho we didn't see what he did in the choreographed dance.

And now I have another two hours taped that were on last night. I'll catch up on Saturday and then I'll be back to comment more. Lucky you!

WOW... I'm not an accomplished dancer, but I know talent vs no talent when I see it. They kept one guy who looked really stupid in the ballroom #, but let the girl he came with go after she danced in the ballroom #. She was quite graceful, he looked so uncoordinated.

I know they also take their solos into consideration, but this was before they were down to the best 16 each. She is a better dancer than he is in both solos and ballroom. Oh well... like I say, I didn't get to vote.

I didn't see the show last night, I was watching the taped from from the episode before. I would ask who did they pick as the final 20, but I wouldn't know names anyway. I'll wait until I can see them, and it'll take forever for me to learn their names then.

This is my favorite show on Tv, sorry Jackie, I like it more than BB.
What is wrong with the judge Mia. She is so mean and belittling to the poor contestants. It really bothers me how she treats people. Her abrupt removal of Natalie was weird and uncalled for!

Hey,

I’m so excited about this years dancers but at the same time taken back by the way the judges treated Natalie. Silky (tap a fool) got to dance for his life, Gaby (light a fire up her a#*) got to dance for her life and even Toni (pretty boy). Why couldn’t they allow Natalie (one of the best dancers there) to do the same? Are the judges scared because she would be the most popular on the show and in turn making it hard for anyone else to even have a glimmer of a hope in winning? Can someone Please explain this to me! Brandon and Natalie rocked Sonya’s routine, I’m just in shock! What the french!

Disappointed in Brooklyn

We (my duaghter and I) couldn't agree more. We were dumbfounded and more than a little upset when they let Natalie go and gave all those other dancers a chance to "dance for their lives". Why wasn't Natlaie given that chance. Last year she almost made the top 20 (it was down to her and Katie) so you know she's good at all dance styles. Seriously, Sonya thought Natalie rocked her routine and then the judges vote her off? It didn't make any sense!

Do you think maybe they might do something different this year? Like a wild card and bring her back along with the “short, fat, bald tap dancer?” I liked him as well he had heart.

Hunting for useful sources that can help you to learn dance online is really time-consuming. However, if you are getting tired of searching for such resources over the internet, visit the website http://www.learn-dance-online.com and go through dance directories.

Anybody watching yet for this season. Some of the auditions have been phenomenal. After last season they are really going to have to step up their game. One of the girls who made it to Vegas has been in all three Highschool Musical's. Does that make her a professional and do they allow professionals in the competition?

The tapper brother of the Broadway dancer (can you believe I've already forgotten his name and he was in the final three) is on to Vegas again. There are three tappers going to Vegas.

Anyway, I'm watching again and look forward to the choreography.
