Survivor Tocantins - "The Martyr Approach"

jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. Everyone is welcome to gather in the comments area for snacks, beverages, and show talk! I'll update this entry with major events as they air. My review of the show will be posted over at TV Squad later tonight.

JT won immunity and sent Coach to Exile much against his will -- Coach SO didn't want to go there! JT is taking Stephen on reward with him -- overnight trip.

JT won immunity. Coach is all drama about back spasms.

Coach was FINALLY voted out!

Please let it be Coach who goes home tonight. "Lamb to the slaughterhouse". Good CYA, guys! Too bad he isn't speechless!

I do not have my avatar yet, but I am Babbling Brook Warrior, she who must be obeyed. Down with the coach tonight!

becky said...

Hey, Jackie, how do you feel? Have you seen the season finale of Lost?

Anonymous said...

I am recording the show, and have a few things to do before I can stay here for the party...or find a TV and watch.

I know just the guy to straighten Coach out and make him drop all the story telling. Joe Friday is the man.

I am NATURE WOMAN and I have MANY superpowers to put the Dragon Slayer in his place!

Not able to watch the show yet but I am here to do battle!! I am armed with my water guns(water is my secret weapon) and waiting. The Dragon Slayer should be VERY afraid...he is no match for Jackie's Warriors. They call me Dances in the Rain.....

Whine, Coach, whine. Erin should have kept her mouth shut.

Good work J.T.! Yeah, Southern men do tend to keep their mouth shut. (You can tell Coach isn't from the South!)

RBennie said...

I don't know why Erin felt she had to say all that stuff. I don't want anything to mess up Coach going home!

Anonymous said...

Jackie, I agree about Lost. Who is in Locke's body?

Jackie S. said...

Erinn should have done what Taj did -- massive eyeroll was priceless!

Anonymous said...

Is Erin's talking at a challenge a first? I have heard that kind of talk at TC, but not any place else. Interesting to see if it hurts her.

Jackie S. said...

Sizzie - I haven't a clue. If it;s Locke in the box, can't be two of him.

Sydney said...

OH MY GOD COACH -- STFU!

Sydney said...

I am Mother Nature and I can slay you with a lightening bolt out there on Exile Island (but wait, Coach would manage to survive and go back to camp saying he's one of those rare people who become psychic as a result)

Wonder Woman wonders if the coach (with a small c) knows he is doomed?

Hello powerful women!

BB Warrior said...

Oh, and Jackie, Lost was something else, wasn't it. Turns out Jacob was real.

TV Guide (a few issues back) had said that Juliet and Sawyer would get married in the season finale. I hate that Juliet died. I liked her and Sawyer as a couple.

joyn said...

Coach has no excuses, or so he says after naming about five of them. He won't eat or make fire on exile. Probably cause he can't make a fire and has no idea how to find edible food.

Hope Errin didn't screw up the plan to get rid of the jerk.

Sydney said...

Hello Wonder Woman and Super Heroines! We are all joining forces tonight to render the dragon slayer impotent...

To start with, I am following Wonder Woman Laurie and reducing his name to all lower case too...

Delee said...

Coach will come back and say he had a spirit journey and had the dream that he wins...yuck!

Sydney said...

Coach may now liken himself to Jesus who fasted in the desert....

monty924 said...

Very late and didn't change my avitar... but honestly folks, my female cat could kick Coach's you know what!!!

Sydney said...

He is getting the long hair and beard....

Sydney said...

Tongue Lasher... what powers do you have to shut him up?

Sydney said...

oppes RBennie, our girl Taj may be lashing to the Cameras right now, lol

Sydney said...

Oh please. I hope all that B-roll about coach being totally focused is NOT the editors foreshadowing that he will WIN immunity!

Anonymous said...

JT said he would take Coach with him to F3. I wonder what Stephen thinks of that?

Sydney said...

See-- Jeff just said mental toughness will win out... I just hope physical weakness does too. NO sleep or food or water for 48 hours? THat little sip he took can't have revived him.

Sydney said...

I think Jeff Probst would actually like to see Coach go away with the million dollars.

Jennasmom said...

Just me, Mother Bear of the Warrior Princesses, checking in. I'm conjuring up a spell to take out the Dragonslayer - will check back in later.

See Taj roll her eyes? So funny. Does anyone besides me think that Jeff baits Coach?

Sydney said...

F&*K!!! He IS going to win this one. Not struggling at all.

Coem on YOUTH! JT JT JT!!!

Sydney said...

At this point coach is thinner than JT... less weight.

Sydney said...

Oh Jeff is feeding Coach's ego -- he didn't want JT to give up the post yet....

Laurie said...

joyn, I'm quite sure your cat would rip him to shreds!

Nature Woman said "We are all joining forces tonight to render the dragon slayer impotent..."

Personally, I think he is already impotent but I have no proof!

So, coach got sent to exile? He may not live through that. Who will listen to him?

RBennie said...

OMG - hang on JT

Becky-- you are the BB Warrior yes?

Sydney said...

If coach says he wants to end up in the f2 with someone he can win against, that's NOT JT!

I can't think of who it would be but maybe Erin.

becky said...

Don't hurt your back anymore... LOL Good, I was afraid JT would let him have it. Call in the medics, take him away!!!

All together now -- D-R-A-M-A!!

Please put Coach out of his misery, please, please. Your a fool if you listen to that man!

Laurie said...

I can't believe I have to wait more than 2 hours to see this. I should sign off now so I can be surprised at the ending ...

But I'm not really all that good and doing what I'm supposed to do!

meb said...

Fellow Warriors, we did our best to rid ourselves of the ds... but JT may have put a crimp in our endeavors and we may just have to come back to fight again at the final three... Tribal Council will get us half way there...

Coach thinks no surprises... I hope he's wrong!

Laurie said...

Must be good right now. Nobody is talking on here ... What is happening?

Delee said...

We already have tequila!

Finally, the wimpy little dragon has been slayed!

Jackie S. said...

Dances - JT had immunity -- the main post always has that info as the comments can get hard to wade (not coach WADE) through.

Sydney said...

BWAHHAHAHA

Mind control! DId they make a mistake though? To be in the F2 with coach would guarantee a win would it not?

BBW said...

I'll drink to that!

Sydney said...

Dun Dun Dun, I don't know where Margo is, but she is Margarita GIrl. So we have margs and tequila shots!

Babbling Brook Warrior said...

Whoever thinks Coach played the game with "honor", please stand. Anybody? Are you standing, Wonder Warrior? Oh, you are just passing out tequila shots. Sorry.

Delee said...

Hard to say if c went to f2 they had would have a lock on the win...wasn't it last time it backfired and the one we wanted to win did not?

meb said...

He didn't dishonor his name... he just made an a$$ out of himself.

Thanks Jackie's Warriors...

This was truly a fun night, even tho I had to keep running from room to room in order to blog on time.

RBennie said...

One of the most satisfying episodes of Survivor I've ever seen! I was proud to fight with all you fierce warriors.

Anonymous said...

pdx..very good with the prickly sweet scent

laurie...dun I love it. Where is the dun girl now, anyone heard?

Coach was truly a legend in his own mind. Most of his talk was just an irritation to me, but I didn't like that man vs woman talk of pebbles and boulders. Especially since at the time he was a women's soccer coach.

I noticed that the jury seemed to be divided....all sat together except for one. I don't think I have ever seen such an animated jury either.

Anonymous said...

ds asst. Coach did it!! He did that to coach!! Let's place blame where it is suppose to be placed. That darn asst. coach of mine misaligned my back, now I have to conjure up the spirits to put me together again... MEDICS !!!

Yipee!

No Bob won last time...it was Micronesia and Amanda/Parvati in F2
Parvati won...I did not see that coming!

Jackie S. said...

The CBS site screwed up -- they already have Coach's Ponderosa clips up before the west coast airs.

Anonymous said...

Jackie, you said 'coach wade' and that reminded me. Did he speak of himself in the 3rd person all the time, or only tonight.

Early Ponderosa? They really did jump the gun, they must think people are in a hurry to watch him.

I saw TC and the maze game, but will watch it all in the morning.

Gray's is on now.

Anonymous said...

I clicked on 'publish too soon'. I wanted to add

Thanks Jackie for everything ! You make it fun.

Who had coach in the pool?

Laurie said...

I wish you could all join me tonight while we West Coasters watch the show. So satisfying to know that c is out .. O U T ... and of course, there is someone to blame for that. Nothing is ever his fault for he is the mighty dragon slayer. I just wonder if his dragon was a mylar balloon!

Another tequila shot, if you don't mind, Delee. Ahhhhh!

Ha! My WV if flusie!

Well, that is just too funny. : )

Coach put a lot of emotion in his final walk and he picked his stick up before his name was called , so much have known he was going. He seemed to be (wait for it) Drag'an A$$ as he left.

Okay, enough, it is mean to continue to pick on him now he is gone. And, we all have his questioning at the finale to look forward too.

Laurie said...

Babbling Brook Warrior said "Are you standing, Wonder Warrior? Oh, you are just passing out tequila shots. Sorry."

Ha ha! No, I am not standing (although I'm sure I could). I so no honor being played by coach. He lied and he manipulated and apparently he then pulled out the drama card tonight. Nope, nope, nope. No honor.

Ding-Dong coach is dun said...

Did y'all notice the look on J.T.'s face after coach was voted out and Jeff mentioned that there was yet another blindside?

J.T. was NOT a happy camper, er, Survivor.

And am I wrong, but it seems that J.T. & Stephen had/have promised "THE FINAL THREE" to coach, Erinn and Taj???

Hi lynn and Margo..you were both missed during the festivities.

I guess the hidden idols were played by not being played? Now we get to see, finally, who is realy running the game. I thought Taj was sitting back and waiting...but maybe not. JT thinks he is (and is doing a good job of it), but Stephen also thinks he has a say in it all. I don't know about Erin. Is she the weakest?

Margo said...

Syd suggested that I use my citric juices to blind coach. Or bring him to his knees - crying. Maybe that is what happened to coach. He thinks is was muscle spasms but really is was the searing pain of tangy juice in his eyes.

mrs.whiggins said...

Stephen has some explaining to do to JT. JT was shocked it wasn't Erinn gone.
This could be the end of the Stephen/JT twosome, unless Srephen can convince JT he made the right move. Erin sucks at challenges so it could very well be Taj, JT & Stephen in the final 3. I'd be happy if any of those 3 win.
Sending Benny (I refuse to call him ds or c) a big slice of humble pie!

Laurie said...

mrs whiggins, you are very kind to send him some humble pie. It's probably a new food group for him.

One extremely satisfying episode of Survivor, if I do say so myself!

Buh bye, ds!! YAHOOOOOO!!!

Now hoping for final three of Taj, JT and Stephen. Any of them can take the money and I am happy. :)

Caroline said...

Hooray for Stephen!

I have never been more proud to have Stephen as my pool pick as I am this morning! Good decision!

I think the turning point was when Stephen found out JT wanted to take Coach to F3. Stephen & Taj are the original alliance...and he knows he wouldn't be where he is without her early planning. I think he's loyal to her above everyone else. Hopefully they can work it out with JT..but if not and Stephen, Taj & Erinn go to the F3 than I think Stephen has the best chance to win.

Sizzie - I haven't a clue. If it;s Locke in the box, can't be two of him.
---------------------------------
The real Locke is dead (in the box) and the Locke walking around is the guy from the beginning on the beach with Jacob. The one that told him he'd find the loophole to kill him. Somehow he can appear as anyone who died on the island. I think he's also been Christian Shepherd in the shack all these times, as well as the dead people Hurley has been seeing off the island, as well as Ben's daughter when he went for judgement a few weeks ago. He may also have been Eko's brother way back in like Season 2. Pretty much anytime we've seen a dead person be alive again...it's been this guy.

Is there a separate post where we're talking about Lost?...cause lots of interesting things happened worth discussing in the season finale.

Laurie said...

Wise words, Caroline. I think Stephen has the character coach only dreamed about. He stuck with his original alliance and Taj will know that and continue to stick with him. I think Erinn will be going home next and the TJ, Stephen and Taj finale will be a good one. All three played a good and game.

The first half hour should be interesting on Sunday for the interaction between JT and Stephen. It appeared that JT was blindsided by the ouster.

RBennie said...

I don't think JT was surprised at all. I think his expression was just a little acting on his part so that Coach wouldn't think he was in on his ouster. It was a smart move for him to make. You know he has Coach's vote if he's in F2. All the previous evictions could be blamed equally on JT and Stephen, but this one looks to be all Stephen's doing. I don't agree that Stephen's first loyalty is to Taj, but I do think he wants her in the F3.

joy n said...

When Jeff mentioned that "it was another blindside" (of Coach), J.T. also had a look of dismay on his face then. He didn't like that Coach heard that. He definitely is thinking of Coach's vote.

dla said...

The ds completely changed the dynamic at Ponderosa upon his arrival. It is a shame, as I was enjoying watching them have fun and, for the most part, let go of the game. Once he arrived, everything changed.

Can you even imagine having him in your real life??? Completely unbearable!

Margo said...

Wohoo go JT!!

Margo

Anonymous said...

I was just reading the latest comments and like the discussion you all have going.

It sounds like to me that Coach went home, not because of him being coach, but because JT said he would take him to F3. And yes, I know that JT would take him to F3 because he is Coach... Good for Stephen to take out the pretender.

About Lost: Good explanation Caroline. I knew that walking around Locke had a different attitude than Locke, and I knew that Ben, who knows the island well, said that dead is dead. So, the clues were there for me to pick up on and I did..but didn't put them together.

Walking Around Locke (as Ben's daugheter) told Ben to follow Locke, and Ben must have been the loophole to how to kill Jacob.

It will be interesting to see if Juliet survives...maybe the bomb blew her into the other time zone.

thanks for the help

No, I can't imagine it. Oh, those poor women on his soccer team!

There is an interview with Coach on People TV Watch that is beyond belief.

Coach says he is probably the most misunderstood man in America right now. He says he can guarantee two things; he's not delusional or crazy (but) his reputation and character has been assassinated.

He says, "As far as Hollywood, I think I am going to get people coming at me with offers. I don't want to be a reality junkie but I would absolutely want my own show."

He mentions why he lost his soccer job (a ridiculous reason), mentions bloggers, (along with a quotation from Nietzsche which he considers advice for bloggers), when he knew he was getting voted out (the fire told him), why Brendan wasn't in his alliance, why the jacket and feathers at tribal, why his huge weight loss, etc.

I've said this before, the man is certifiable.

Hope I get this link right.

dla, what I can't figure out is why Debbie genuinely cares about him, and can tolerate him... Tyson is a jerk 9sorry any Tyson fans, jmo), albeit at times funny but I can see why he and coach connect!

Stacey- I wonder why you are blocked. Have you tried going to a place with a different internet network than you have were you are (assuming it's home?). Like an internet cafe or the library?

PDX- glad your grandson aced it! Must have been too cute to stand it!

Sizzie - Drag'an A$$ *giggle*

What I want to know is, why would you want to get coach out when you could win against him? Because he just might win?

Or is it the theory of going with the best two contenders and a good fight for the end? Who can win against JT? No one hates him, he's done nothing terrible...right?

It is a sad time to leave cause all my peonies are just starting to bloom. Maybe they will save some for me when I get back. It is supposed to be warm and sunny the whole week so I don't hold out much hope.

RealityTVWorld has an interesting interview with Coach.

Coach's brother, Pete, has his own site and sounds a whole lot like Coach, heaven help us.

petewadeshow.com/whoweare.htm

It has an interesting biography on the brothers. They are direct descendents of Pocahontas and both taught themselves to read and write at age 2. These and other wonderful facts about the Wade siblings are an interesting read, to say the least.

dla said...

Sydney, I think that Taj, Erinn and Stephen wanted "c" out cuz he was driving them crazy, and they also knew that he would be targeting each of them sooner than later.

I agree completely that any of them could probably win against him at the end, but he has been such an annoying wild card that they probably did not want to chance keeping him around only to be picked off themselves through the process.

IMO, keeping him around to the end only benefits the single player that ends up against him at the very end, and it is impossible to know who that player will be at this point in the game.

Did that make sense? I am not explaining myself very well...

SueGee said...

Don't say I didn't warn you guys! Last time I joined a Survivor Pool I won - and with Stephen I think I have a good chance again!

I'm going to a Survivor party Sunday night hosted by some people who were on the show in previous seasons. Their insights about what goes on both off camera and behind the scenes is always fun. Anyone have any questions they want me to ask?

Stacey, Dreamer at jokersupdates has all the Ponderosa clips in clipser format for those who cannot view youtubes and the CBS vids. Look for Survivor Life at Ponderosa: Coach.

Margo, my grandmother always pulled a few peonies buds (on stems) before they opened, wrapped them in waxed paper and stored them in the fridge until she wanted to use them. They'll open up right after you put them in a vase with water. Have a safe trip.

Once again, there CANNOT / WILL NOT be a "FINAL THREE" as is/was the norm in the recent past.

Getting to the "FINAL THREE" this cycle gets you a shot at the jury prize only.

There are currently 5 members of the jury (Brendon, Tyson, Sierra, Debbie and Coach) There are 4 players remaining (Erinn, J.T., Stephen and Taj) You have to have 7 jury members to insure there is NOT a tie vote. That means two of the final 4 will be eliminated. This is a result of Joe leaving due to his injury.

gadavis4444 said...

Yeah, I agree there can't be a final three due to Joe's injury.

But no one else left the night Joe left.

The first hour tonight someone will be voted out. leaving the final three. Then a new comp takes place among the three and the winner of that chooses who will go to the jury and who stays with him or her (final 2)for the jurors vote. Right?

My husband is a Chiropractor. He said (by watching coach) that his back isn't as bad as he claims it is. If Coach's discs were out, there is no way he could sit on the ground with his legs up to his chest. Phtffff

Hi all!

Long time no see. :( I only have a few minutes and thought I would stop by for a visit. It's been non-stop chaos in my life for months now.

I was trying to post a brief message last Monday and guess what? My two year old wireless keyboard wasn't working. I couldn't type anything. After trying to trouble shoot the problem, I finally had to buy a new keyboard since the warrantee had expired. I can't tell you how much I miss chatting here.

I can't believe it's Survivor finale night already. I still have 2 episodes on the dvr that I haven't watched yet. I see that Coach was slain by his Nemesis's on this blog. WTG!

I can't believe my girl Errin is still hanging in but I doubt if she will win the million.

Did anyone see the Lost finale? I stayed up until 3 a.m. watching it on the dvr. OMG! Now I'm obsessed with trying to figure out who/what Jacob and Darkman (Esau?) are. The writers of this show are brilliant and provoke thoughts of deeper issues, destiny vs. free will, good vs. evil and the value of mankind.

((((JACKIE))))

I miss you and your faithful followers!!!! Hope you're doing fine and your knee isn't giving out before you have enough leave time to schedule your surgery. Forgive me for being MIA.

Hi Zoetawny! Glad you took a minute to write....you are missed here!

I have had a ruptured disk and I have back problems now and I tell you, he would not have been walking upright and picking up firewood after that challenge!!
