TV Stuff and Stuff

I'm a pseudo-celeb and I'm stuck in weeds ... get me out of here!

Yes, I watched the second night of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. I'm not proud. It seems that Heidi and Spencer are gone. I hope it stays that way. The next one I want out is that Janice. Not only is she annoying, but she looks a bit like that Cat Lady with too much plastic surgery. She was really a supermodel at one point? I find that hard to believe!

I find it a bit incongruous that the show was followed by an NBC special featuring President Obama's day in the White House. As I watched that one, all I could think was that if I had so much important for the world stress on my shoulders I'd be screaming, "I'm not really the President! I was joking! Get me out of here!" I'd definitely crack under the pressure. But the burgers looked good.

Tonight on Letterman it's Jack Hanna! I'm such a sucker for those segments. Not only do I find the animals so interesting, I enjoy the interaction between Dave and Jack. I took a nap. I will stay up! I peeked in on Conan last night on and off between Dave. He's got some good guests lined up, but nothing will take me away from Jack Hanna tonight.

On writing bits, I wrote up a brief article on I'm a Celeb, blah-blah for TV Squad. Yesterday TVS posted my short newsy bit about the upcoming Big Brother 11. It's been confirmed that once again I'll be posting live feed reports from the BB house on TVS. Of course, I'll still be posting them here, too. And, not the same reports. Also yesterday, my latest Reality Clack column for CliqueClack TV was posted.

Other than that, there's not much TV going on in my life. Tomorrow will bring us So You Think You Can Dance. I haven't really checked the schedule, but watching that over the pseudo-celebs is a given.

Today's musical non sequitur:
The monkeys stand for honesty,
Giraffes are insincere,
And the elephants are kindly but
They're dumb.
Orangutans are skeptical
Of changes in their cages,
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum.

I'm a pseudo-celeb and I'm stuck in poison ivy ... get me out of here!

Thanks for that pic of poison ivy Jackie... I never remember what it looks like which is probably why I get caught when working in the yard. You'd think I'd learn, but...

I watched Celeb tonight too. First night, forgot it the night before but have it taped if I decide to continue watching.

That Janice is not only crude, she's difficult to look at. It's amazing what women (and men too) will do to their bodies in the name of beauty and then end up looking like thqt. I can't stand her attitude, but I feel sorry for her...she ain't too smart!

11:23 - You already posted your unrelated to post rant once on another post. Enough.

Hi Jackie-

I don't think that is poison ivy. I thought the leaves were uneven jagged. On the other hand I avoid anything that might remotely be poison ivy - like red leaves, 3 leaves, red stems so I probably would not go near this plant. I had it once and that was enough. I happily have Mom pay for someone else to get rid of it in my yard.

Margo -- Trust me ... it's poison ivy. The leaves with more color are fairly new, the background is older leaves.

Uhoh! Reality TV World is now saying that Spencer and Heidi may be coming back. Apparently, they (S&H) heard that Heidi's sister, Holly, was to replace Heidi, and they both "begged" the producers to let them come back. BUT....it is up to the other cast members to decide if they can return and I have my doubts that will happen. It was also mentioned that the viewers may have a vote in this too. Have no idea how that will work out.

Daniel Baldwin, on the other hand, had arrived at the camp last night and will remain. Stephen is not too happy about his brother being there and the article said they've hardly spoken to each other.

I'm thinking the other cast members will do just fine, thank you, with less competition(?), and with less of the lazy, whining, spoiled, hammock-hogging, psuedo-Christian MEGA-stars from The Hills.

Same thing I was thinking, Jackie, about Janice D (cat lady comment), as if her personality weren't freakish enough without the new face to go along with it. Remember her reality show with men?

I will watch Letterman tonight because you told me Hanna would be on.

hmmm... I left you a big long message last night and it didn't print. Oh well -- I watched this ep too.

Hate Speidi -- they have taken over for Paris Hilton as the most vapid, useless kids who are famous for no reason(where was that Charity Paris swore she'd get into once out of jail??). Spencer is even more immature animated than he seems from all the press these guys get for things like picking out a mattress. But I was impressed with how beautiful Heidi was, moreso sans make up. It looked to me like the whole ep was contrived -- about them leaving etc...

Janice and Stephen Baldwin are making a living on D list reality shows... I thought she was the most well behaved of all shows I've seen her on --she would not be seen without her make up on the VH-1 show and on her Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency show... but I guess she has a kid to put through college so...

I loved the two comedienne women though. They were a hoot.

Oh, and I meant to say congratulations on doing BB again and boy have you been busy writing. I don't know how you will follow all these things again this summer... are your overtime hours a thing of the past? I know you are wanting to save up for the other knee and have that done as soon as fall... I will check out your three new articles!

I am a proud member of the I can't stand to watch I'm a celebrity... I don't know how you do it. My house is completely clean now too. :)

I'm watching but still not sure if I like it or not... I know that makes no sense at all, lol. I love Stevie B in anything.

BB11 site is up now at CBS. Nothing much there yet but pictures and videos from seasons past. 12 hampsters this year and I CAN'T WAIT!!! Just over a month to go. Woohoo!

Thanks for posting links to your other reports. I cannot remember where they are if you don't.

As for the poison oak. Since my son's and I are all allergic to it and we live in the "sticks", I have read a lot about it. While this is a pic of it, it changes during the seasons and there is a wide, wide variety of it. Leaves are different shaped, colored and number. I just stay away from all 3 and 5 leaf plant that are similar.

Oh yeah, I am not watching any reality shows until BB comes on...I have things to get done before July, when three nights a week, I will be glued to the boob tube.

Donna, I won't be watching any reality TV either until Big Brother. I have been doing some reading. I have several books I have purchased and decided to get through some of them.

My WV is shihdues. Is thing anything like Shingdos? LOL

Donna, I don't have time to watch either and often welcome a break so I can get other things done in life, much like you said.

I WAS watching In Treatment, but it seems to be not on on Sunday and Monday nights... or maybe my tivo isn't recording them. I've developed a serious crush on Gabe Byrne, who is the therapist. I always ask if anyone else watches this but I guess not as I never hear a peep. It would be an interesting one to talk about but, too little time to do it all, I guess.

I do watch Rescue Me on Tuesday nights. I have NOT been watching the Bachelorette, for the first time since the series started. I watched the first ep, but that was it. I may tune in, since so little is on, but I have let it go...

I'd be watching SYTYCDance but for being too busy. I may tune in as my life calms down in a few weeks but it's not the same investment as watching from the start..

I started watching Fashion Show, but have not been able to sit down consistently when it's on due to being so busy, so I let Bravo be on in the background showing it's reruns of the weeks episode sometimes when I'm at the computer. I can't tell you if I think it's good or not. Has anyone else? Can you tell me what you think of it?

I do catch the Tudors unevenly, and when I'm sick or something I catch up on past eps on Demand. I love the costumes and learning a little more about the history of the time, even though they have their way with the facts.

I havne't watched Tudor's, In Treatment or Fashion Show. Yikes, what have I been watching? I can't remember so it must not have been that great. I have recorded House, I have watched several (recorded) 48 hours and 20/20. It was fun to see all the weather warning interruptions from a month ago. It reminded me how tired I was of rain and how long ago those shows were recorded.

I still haven't see Bride Wars or Rachel's Wedding, should I/

And Jon and Kate is on tonight. Will anyone watch?

You know, though they are all over the magazines that arrive at my door (hey, I get the Wall Street Journal as well as the gossip rags, for balance, lol) the last few weeks, I have never watched and their news makes me want to watch even less. That said, I know you have watched, and that's enough cred for me to take a gander...

And what do we all think of all the press SPEIDI are getting over their one little episode of that TV show on Jackie's post? I mean, now Heidi is in the hospital for some kind of ulcer she says came on from spending one night eating rice and beans in a totall dark room with her husband with a few waterbugs and spiders.... (a one night stunt they had to do to get back on the show, which they claimed they wanted to do). They acted like it was Gitmo. Is it just their usual thing to get any kind of press or are these two kids THAT lost? It could believable be either imho....

OK, I must admit I'm still watching The Bachorlette, but it's usually recorded and watched while I'm doing other things. I watched part of the first episode of the celebrity survivor show, but haven't watched any since then. I do have it recorded tho, so if I ever get bored, I have something to fall back on.

Rochelle, some of the shows you listed, I've never even heard of. Some I've heard of, and they sound interesting but I just don't have enough time in a day to watch any more than I already do.

Sizzie, I know exactly what you mean when you talk about old weather reports when watching recorded shows. I like The Unit, but it's on at the same time as Brothers & Sisters. I had to make a choice of which to watch and which to record. When I started catching up on The Unit, I heard about the snow storms we were having back in December & January.

When Survivor and Amazing Race were over it was a bit of a relief to get a break from trying to schedule my life around my TV shows. Now I need to gear up for BB. Between watching the show and keeping up with the "real" story here at Jackie's, I've already decided that my life will belong to BB for however long it lasts.

Bring it on!!!!

Becky said...

Jackie, have I missed your reply regarding surgery on the other knee? Wish I could comment on some of the shows that are on right now, but nothing has struck my fancy as yet.

I do wish they would bring Leverage back. I really did like it.

Hope to hear something on your knee. Also, are you still putting in the horrendous hours?

Another strange WV. momandw Okay, who is "w"? LOLOLOL

Oh Sydney, please don't watch Jon and Kate because of me ! I am disgusted by its phoniness. Mostly, I will admit, because I believed them up until the recent press. I know I should have realized 'Reality' had no place in it, but I felt that show was different, in part because it was on TLC. And the kids are adorable, lately there is very little of them and much too much of the two people I don't want to see.

I just finished watching The Closer and have Raising the Bar taping. I know some of you don't like Kyra Sedgewick's southern accent, but I'm telling you this is a good show. Would I steer you wrong?
