Big Brother 11 Nominations Show Blog Party 8/09

Big Brother 11 Blog Logo

The show has started here on the East Coast. This post will be updated as it airs, but the real fun is in the comments section. Everyone is welcome, bring your own snacks and beverages! Later tonight my show review will be posted on TV Squad. Sometime tonight this blog should hit 2 million unique visits (about twice that in page views). I might miss it, but I hope to catch the rough location of the 2,000,000th visitor in my Sitemeter (bottom of the blog). All it tells is sometimes location in the country and through what ISP ... nothing really personal.

I want to thank those special people who made a tremendously generous offer for Wednesday. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest.

Later tonight I'll post the live feeds happenings for the day. It hasn't been really eventful. On with the show ...

Whoa ... they're doing the bath tub rapist story/Chima from WEEKS ago as filler. I wonder if the old margarita party is next.

Jeremy Piven is in the house and a luxury comp is starting. The winning team sees his new movie and one member wins a large prize. The team of Jessie, Natalie, Russell, and Jordan won. Russell won $10,000.

Nominations - key order:
Natalie, Jessie, Kevin, Michele, Jordan, Jeff.

Russell and Lydia are on the block.

BOOO-YA Jeff, I hope you do use it!!!

Becky said...

Yeah! Those socks still crack me up, Laurie.

Like Natalie has to explain to Jeff that he doesn't know that he doesn't have to use it. I think Nasty had a Jordan moment.

Is Jeff allowed to tell anyone that he has the coup d'état? I'm guessin' no. If he could, I'd enlist Jordan to act like she has it.

Kevin can be so funny! Loved the "happy dance". He is an idiot though if he doesn't take Lydia off.

Surely Lydia won't vote for Jessy to stay.

Becky said...

Michelle is a suck up!

Thanks all, I'm glad you like my socks and shoes. I'm usually barefoot for this show.
Monty, the busted cone is hilarious! All the muscle and air is out of that one, for sure!

He keeps hinting, but he's never come out and said, "I have the power". Wonder how far BB will let him go?

I believe it's true. I was taught to always take rape accusations seriously. NEVER blow off a woman's claim of being raped or blame it on her.

-----
Yes it's true, Dingo did the research and found the person put to death, however, the papers did not mention the victim's names.

Jackie S. said...

Delee - I looked up the case at the time. Although she's not mentioned by name, it really happened. He was executed in Jan or Feb of this year.

monty924 said...

Chima said that quite a while back, and someone over at Joker's looked it up, I think. I think they thought it was true. Not sure though.

DeeLee, it might take 24 hours to get it out of her system. No treats, no food except bland. You can give her chicken baby food too, but not much. In fact, only feed several small meals during the day.

Love the smashed cone.

Becky said...

Bet it hurt Chimouth to tell Russell he won the money.

monty924 said...

That's a 10,000 dollar target. But... he didn't do it intentionally - just luck of the draw.

PlaidChick said...

Laurie said...

----
They're playing the have not comp, they had to stuff goods in a car in set amounts of how many cars they could sell to win the movie screening "the goods" the shirts, Jessie, Natalie, Jordan, Russell

Delee said...

Laurie there were station wagons and things in the by that they had to stuff into the cars in 5 mins that had various points

Jackie S. said...

Laurie - They were packing cars with items that were worth so many cars sold (they're car salesman). For example, a huge bigger than life teddy bear was worth 17 cars sold. Then they had to pack themselves in. They had five minutes.

Anonymous said...

I'm hope Nat took a bath before Jeremy Piven hugged her.

What's with Chima saying Russ shouldn't have taken the money. It's not like he was throwing anything to get the money.

monty924 said...

Sorry Laurie. They had to cram objects in a station wagon with point totals. Highest point total won.

Thanks for the drink. :)

Laurie said...

Thanks everyone for the details of what the challenge was. You are the best!

Becky said...

Laurie, there was a lot of crap in the yard and two station wagons. Points were attached to each item. Then the four people had to get inro the front seat. Jessy pushed everyone in his group to fit himself inside. What was funny was in order for Kevin to get into the car he had to squirm around and squish his face into Lydia's butt. After the competition ended they had to take stuff out and add it up.

Zoetawny...sorry to hear about your pooch. I'll be thinking and praying for you.

Delee...I missed the original post. If your dog is having gastrointestinal problems, Immodium can sometimes help. I've used it NUMEROUS times with Willie. The rice and chicken or rice with hamburger (mostly rice) diet is usually a good idea also to help settle down the GI tract.

Good luck!

Joe in NY said...

I actually think that was kind of sweet between Jetski and Nasty. It's almost like they are trying to have a normal relationship and the game is getting in the way. I think the same is kind of true of Jetski and Lydia: they might be friends on the outside but they can't quite be on the inside.

OFF TOPIC

Zoetawny, prayers up for your dog.

DeeLee, the Immodium is good. Give Children's Immodium, though.

How is Willie, Joe?

monty924 said...

What Jordan calls the cool side, I call the TH!

Joe in NY said...

OT

Hi Delee...

Immodium is a definite help with the diarrhea. Wilie gets it frequently - he has a very sensitive system - and Immodium clears it right up. I actually buy the box of 72 now! LOL My brother-in-law is a vet and that's what he recommends along with the bland diet.

Of course, it is also possible that it is some kind of parasite if he got to some standing water or untreated water. If it doesn't clear up in a couple of days, then it is definitely worth at least a call to your vet. They usually just do a precautionary worming/anti-parasite because the drugs are less expensive than the test.

The important thing is, just like with a human, that you make sure the dog stays hydrated. Especially if it is a small dog, they have such a tiny reservoir that diarrhea can really dehydrate them in a couple days.

Laurie said...

Thank you, Sydney, I'm quite pleased with the compliments tonight!

Sydney said...

Delee, I w as right there with ya on what Monty's avatar was. THat said, I am totally in the dark as to what the cone means. Laurie, didn't you have a cone before. I swear, I have zero clues... musta missed something!

Hi Becky,

Willie's doing great. Thanks for asking. One more week and I can start putting the furniture back in the living room. I'm not sure how long I'm going to need before I trust him on the stairs...

monty924 said...

Okay, that was a good nomination speech out of Chima.

Delee said...

Have a wonderful evening all and thank you for doggy info...

Laurie said...

I wonder if there is Immodium in the BB house? Seriously, do they have stuff there for the little things that happen to us when we are traveling or staying in different places?

monty924 said...

That does it. I'm off in search of a unicorn for Thursday night!

Becky said...

Monty, I think more messages were piped in than we heard on the show. I think the majority of the calls were directed at Nasty never taking a shower.

monty924 said...

Sydney, I had an Orange Road Cone in honor of Jeff saying Jessie had the personality of an ORC. It was too pretty though, so I found a busted one. :)

monty924 said...

Yes Becky, there were at least two that I remember. I guess she got the clue.

Laurie said...

Sydney, Monty had the erect orange cone before tonight. I think tonight's representation of the cone is even better. It's for Jessie who was referred as a cone by somebody earlier ... sorry I can't remember who that was!

meb said...

Laurie, they can ask for things in the DR if they need it. They also have a doctor on standby in case.

One year we had two people with real emergencies at the exact same time. One had difficulty breathing. Who am I talking about guys... I can't remember. A medical person came out from behind the walls immediately and attended to her and they showed it on one of the TV nights. Of course those who had the feeds got to see the whole thing.

I think they're pretty much prepared for anything.

OK Nothing happened tonight that wasn't expected. Man Thursday is a long ways away!

Becky said...

Joe, never would probably bee too soon! Climbing stairs are very bad on overweight dogs with bad hips. Do you have a gate across the stairs to keep him for going up and down them while you are in school?

If you could keep him confined in one area (like the kitchen) while you are teaching, that would be better.

Sorry, you probably know a lot if your b-i-l is a vet. Are you working on getting the weight off that he gained?

Sydney said...

Kinda OT

True Blood is on next Anybody watch that?

Becky said...

OT

Sydney, no. But Design Star comes on at 9 CST.

Anonymous said...

it was the season with nat and mattie. the chick who was always showing off her ass and wanyed a spanish catchphrase "Holla". I can't remember her name either. I didn't like her.

Sydney said...

isn't it kind of sad that Piven has to go on this show to promote his movie? He did a good job (not to mention that it was probably a nice ego boost to see everyone drooling over him), but the movie must be pretty bad to have to promo it this way?

.....Even though all of us classy, witty, smart people do watch it, lol

Anonymous said...

True Blood is one of the best shows on tv. The first season is on DVD and i for one would highly recommend it despite all the sex in the first couple of episodes. This season is even better.

Joe in NY said...

OT

Hi Becky...

Actually, he's dropped back to his normal 150 pounds already. Actually, a little too quick according to my brother-in-law (went from 150 pounds in December to 180 pounds in March back to 150 pounds in July). He's very sensitive and has been a bit depressed since the injury and surgery and it has been a chore to get him to eat. I cook hamburger, chuck steak, leg of lamb and sometimes I end up throwing them out. Now that he's back to going to the park for walks and walking around the neighborhood, he's a little better but still fussy.

So, at the moment, his weight is not an issue although he could probably lose another 5-10 pounds to get closer to ideal. And his hips are good right now and the knee is mostly healed. So, after 12 weeks (which is another 3 weeks from tomorrow), he should be able to do stairs. Normally, he just goes up to the bedroom when I leave in the morning and stays there all day. But I'm afraid of a slip or fall on the stairs.

There is NOW a gate at the bottom of the stairs to control his access, but at some point I'd like to move back into my bedroom and I don't know what to do. You know guard breeds, they need to know where you are at all times. Even if I'm in the office and he's in the yard, if he doesn't hear me move or see me through the window, he'll come in look at me for 2 minutes then go back out. I don't know how easy it would be to get him to sleep downstairs if I'm upstairs. And you know how habitual dogs can be. If he sleeps upstairs at night, he'll want to sleep upstairs during the day when I'm gone.

Sigh...that'll be the next thing to try and figure out. This has been a difficult 9 weeks but at least he appears to be getting better. It's chronic but at least not life-threatening at this point. My heart really goes out to those of you dealing with terminal illnesses. That is just an awful thing to have to face, as bad with a pet as it is with a person (IMHO).

Thanks to all for your concern and good luck to all of you as you deal with your own issues.

Sydney said...

BTW -- The 2 millionth visitor is QUITE SOMETHING Jackie!!!!! I man, that's pretty exciting AND fantastic! Congraltuations!

Laurie said...

meb, now that you say it I do remember somebody fainting one year and all the drama that went down.

Sydney, I don't watch True Blood.

Becky, I do watch Design Star! I also watched the Next Food Network Star.

Project Runway starts later this month!(8/20 on Lifetime)

Sydney said...

Cool Anon. I watched much of the fits season, but we missed a fair amount too. And we missed way too much this season. We can get it on demand but never have the time to catch up.

I think Mad Men and this season of Rescue Me are also fabulous. For VERY different reasons and audiences.

Witt said...

An advance "sorry" to Joe and Petals: it's nice seeing Jessie sweat just a bit over evictions.

I was chuckling over the way Natalie was ordering him around tonight around/about Lydia...so insecure! Didn't I read here that Jess and Lydia got it on when Jessie was HOH...didn't Natalie know that?

HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE Jeff uses CDE/CDT...it would be interesting!

2 million...wow!! Way to go, Jackie. It's because of you, Jackie, that we keep coming back again and again...you throw a great party!

I have been busy today and only now found the time to post.

I have a few bones to pick with Chima's comments about Southerners not being able to speak decent English.
If Chima would stop watching reruns of The Beverly Hillbillies and The Dukes of Hazard she might realize that not all southern people speak that way.
Certainly she should know that some of the greatest American literature was written by southern authors.
Maybe she should check out William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Thomas Wolfe, Robert Penn Warren, Margaret Mitchell, Eudora Welty, Harper Lee, Nicholas Sparks, or Winston Groom just to name a few.

Thank you for letting me vent in my bad Southern English.

I forgot to add I am proud to be an honest to God "G.R.I.T.S!"

For you non-southerners that translates to "Girl Raised In The South!"

Laurie said...

I didn't know grits, so I appreciate that little lesson. I believe we have a few of those here at Jackie's place.

Chima clearly has some issues and should never open her mouth to speak. As my daddy used to say, better to keep your mouth shut and let people thing you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it. Or something like that. I know it kept me quiet for a very long time!

ok so after watching tonight
i am hoping jeff does use the power and gets jessie out.
if he leaves jessie in and gets nat out, lydia will shift right back with jessie and so will kevin who seems to now like chima!
So one would think that jeff could use the power to take off russell
leave lydia up put up jessie, and with his speech say it is time for you to go jessie,
he has to be sure that russell, jordan(of course) himself, and one other person vote for jessie to go!
or he would be screwed.
if he puts up nat and jessie then lydia will vote out nat and there is no telling who will stay
if he leaves lydia up with jessie, kevin will vote out jessie????
argh
it hurts my brain already
anyone else have a thought?
i just want jessie and his team derailed and Jeff safe with Jordan.

And they wonder why no one likes them??! Man they have a wake up call coming.

I cannot believe Queen Chima and the pitbull are hiding in the HOH, and just had their pool boy err tool boy bring them food.
