Big Brother 12 - Live Feeds Into Dawn Friday - Aug. 6

My review of last night's show and a special live feeds endurance comp post should go up over at TV Squad sometime this morning. They're written, just waiting for an editor.

In the house happenings since the comp ended, here's the main scoops:
  • Rachel cried some more.
  • Brendon told Rachel that he'll always protect.
  • Boy, he protected her well this time, eh?
  • Not that I'm really knocking him for losing the comp.
  • Brendon complained to Enzo that the comps are all geared towards smaller people.
  • Enzo agreed.
  • Matt told Ragan of his need to have people backing him. He said that in his speech, he needs to say something about putting the strongest couple in the house up.
  • Britney said people have told her she looks like Dolly Parton -- commenters have even said that here in this blog!
  • BB gave them alcohol.
  • They all checked out Matt's HOH room -- he got sliders from White Castle along with other goodies.
  • Britney, Matt and Ragan think they need to go after Rachel before Brendon because she's so much better in comps than her man.
  • They're right. I think she's the real threat in the game.
  • Ragan thinks it will be a double eviction next week.
  • Maybe. It's about due.
  • Britney thinks Brendon is condescending and egotistical.
  • He is. He treats Rachel that way (just talking outside of her own issues) and he comes across that way in the house.
  • Enzo thinks that he and Hayden should make side alliances with Brendon, but not let him know of the Brigade or anything.
  • They're still up as I get this posted. All four cameras are on Enzo, Britney, Hayden and Lane.
  • They're talking about Rachel and Brendon "still fighting" but since all cameras are on them, I don't know.
  • There have been no saboteur signs yet.
  • And, it looks like Matt will be putting Rachel and Brendon on the block.
  • But, of course, that's subject to change before nominations tonight.
  • Okay, they switched to Rachel.
  • She's crying again. Hayden is telling her that he's all alone in the house since Kristen went.
  • I don't know where Brendon is.
  • Rachel says everyone hates her.
  • She doesn't know the half of it.

I don't hate Rachel... She's one of the few really competing in the house. It must be hell knowing that everyone is gunning for you by week 2. I hope she stays... I love her and haven't cheered this hard for anyone since Janelle.

Oh how the mighty have fallen... Rachel was on her high horse until last night. Doesn't she realize that there is NO WAY her and her man can stay in power every single week? Doesn't she realize that when you attack people and challenge them to come after you that they WILL COME AFTER YOU? She's completely clueless!!!

I don't think there'll be a double eviction this year. What most people don't know is that there was a 14th houseguest, a man named Paolo. For whatever reason Paolo dropped out of the show while they were in sequester before going into the house. There wasn't time to replace him, which is why there were only 13 houseguests. But they still have the same number of weeks to fill. One way to deal with that situation is not have a double eviction.

Patty said...

Houseguests. it is time to get up...oh wait, BB must be telling us that!

I am excited to see what the visitors, Jeff and Jordan have in store for these hamsters. If I was in there, I think I would be asking them some advice on how to make it to the end. I bet though these HGS will just be star struck.

It should be interesting to see if Rachel THINKS Jordan is coming between her and her man in any of the DR sessions. Whatever Rachel, have you man!

"Brendon complained to Enzo that the comps are all geared towards smaller people.

That takes some nerve, crybaby Brendon. A very athletic person whining about a comp being skewed toward people who clearly have an overall disadantage in comparison. Laughable.

Paolo Aviles was a woman, 30 yr old, unemployed real estate agent!

Hope Matt follows thru with B/R being nom'ed. That will stir this sleepy house up!

Caela said...

Matt did alot of talking this past week, about how B&R need to go. I hope he doesnt waste his HOH and gets one of them out!

RBennie said...

I really hate that Matt is HOH. You just know that there's going to be a diary room session of him telling us how everything that's happened so far was all part of his "diabolical super genius" plan. Didn't someone mention earlier that Matt promised Ragan that he would put Kathy on the block? Kathy being the only have not just plays right into her mope around and be miserable scenario. My girl Britney should be safe this week, and that's all I really care about.

I'm not a Rachel fan at all, but I do find myself routing for the underdogs and she and Brendon were certainly that from the start. I won't be sad to see her go, but do find something appealing about Brendon and wish he would step up his individual game to stick it out a few more weeks.

JimmyB said...

Although I would not target Kathy now (I'd target Brachel--probably Rachel--Brendon at least will make deals); we know from past experience that a floater can, in fact, win.

In Season 6, Maggie squeaked-out a 4-3 win. Pure flotation--She did not deserve to win.

I would like to see Kathy go. She offers nothing. Is it true though that she only has a small time to live because of a rare cancer?
I would like to Brendon and Rachael last a little longer. I don't have anyone to really root for this season other than them just for the mere fact they are out numbered.

RBennie said...

I do know what you mean Anon. I have a strong vein of "root for the underdog" running through me that compells me to root for R&B, but then Rachel opens her mouth and the spell is broken, LOL. Seriously though, aside from Rachel being certifiably insane, she's a fierce competitor. I think if it had been her rather than Brendon up there, she would outlasted everyone on sheer determination alone.

Anonymous said...

i want branden to go first so we can watch rachel freak out. heck she might even decided to walk out of the house to be with him! this way nobody can come between her and her nam before she gets out of the house! -jeannemarie

Laurie said...

Rachel reminds me of Russell in Survivor. She can play one part of the game but she is horrible at the other parts. She has made herself into a victim and a target by being a bully and a crybaby at the same time. Part of the game is social and she sucks at that. Brendan jumped the shark when he aligned with her to the point of shutting everyone else out. They turned themselves into targets by their own selfish actions, IMO. They are underdogs only because of their dogs-in-heat behavior. They could have created a whole different game for themselves if they had played smarter.

I don't much care who goes home this time. Rachel, Brendon or Kathy can go.
I do fear that once all the girls/women go it will become even more boring than it already has been. No hormones raging, no emotional break downs, no cat fights.
The Brigade is not made up of aggresive competitive men or up to this point I have not seen it in them. They all seem to be kind of laid back.
Of course Matt thinks he is a strategic mastermind but he is more of a meathead to me. He is all talk and no show. If he was half as smart as he thinks he is he would be about avearage.

Laurie said...

Lynn, you made me laugh out loud with that smart comment. It's accurate and it's funny!

Sally said...

Such a relief to know that Matt is planning to nominate Rachel and Brendon! Rachel has been so obnoxious with her victories and condescending with her "don't take this personally" remarks. Her exit remarks have made it very clear that she's taking things very personally.

Laurie, there's truth in your comparison of Rachel with Russell--she's not playing a good social game at all. But I think Russell was a superior strategist and manipulator.

joyn said...

I agree that Karma may be paying Rachel and Brendon a visit this week. I don't like Matt but if he does what he says he wants to do, I'll have more respect for his gameplay. His wanting some backup from other hgs makes me nervous though. He needs that backup but if he doesn't get it, he'll only back down again. And these hgs talk the talk but rarely walk the walk. Have to wait and see.

Jackie, thank you for keeping us non-feeds people informed. With this group of hgs, we need all the help we can get. They're slow learners. LOL!

K in WI said...

Rachel confuses the heck out of me.
Sometimes I think she is brilliant in her ability to see what's going on (much more so than Brendan) and other times I can't believe how dumb she is in terms of how she treats the other.

I can only guess that her ultimate vanity and self-centeredness supercedes her ability to think straight.

I do have to give her props for making breakfast though.

I can't think of a more polarizing figure--other than perhaps Evel Dick. It seems there are as many posters here who hate her as love her.

Bottom line--I can't tolerate her anymore.

RBennie said...

I bet Matt's nomination speech will be something along the lines of "the majority of the house wants you two gone". He for sure won't be throwing down the gauntlet and telling them to bring it.

lynn1 said...

Laurie and Sally I agree with both of you. Rachel has no social skills in this game or in life. Her only strategy is get them before they get "us".
I think the old saying "dog eat dog" is appropriate here including the pun and double entendre.

Laurie said...

I think we can continue with the dog theme as long as we let the dogs know it's nothing personal about them!

Anonymous said...

what is up with Matt, and now Enzo, with the hand in the pants? Is this a normal guy thing?

lynn1 said...

Anonymous, I think they are paying homage to Al Bundy! ;)

Laurie said...

Perfectly normal... for 3-year old boy.

joyn said...

And at least for three-year-olds, it's a matter of discovery and curiosity.

I don't even want to know what these guys are doing.

Sure hope they do some hand-washing before all those goodbye hugs. Yuck!!

Anonymous said...

I get that Rachel may be her own worst enemy... But NO ONE is really playing this game. They all just want to be "sitting pretty" and that drives me up a wall.
Matt disgusted me with that horrible lie. If he's a diabolical super genius, couldn't he have found another way to get votes? I don't think anybody in the Brigay has done anything worthwhile and I would hate to see any of them win. Rachel and Brendon seem to be the only people who will ever be able to take them down.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

I don't understand all of the comments about Rachel not being about to play the social game. I've watched enough hours of feeds to see how she is, and in general, she's social and gracious to everyone in the house. The exception really only was Kristen, and that only happened after Kristen just flat out rejected Rachel's apology to her. What the hell do you expect after that?

Rachel is *nothing* like Russell, AT ALL. I'm not a fan of Rachel but I also don't hate her the way so many seem to. She's a fierce competitor, but what do you expect? That's exactly what she should be!

I don't get it, it just reminds me of mob mentality. Not saying she hasn't had her moments, but jeeze, give her a break, there's no doubt that the house has been against R&B since week ONE and she knows it. How would you feel? Frankly, I think she's doing a remarkable job of holding back.

Laurie said...

FA, mob mentality? Whoa!
I don't see the feeds, so I can only base my feelings about her by what I see on the shows and what other people report. I see her as excluding other people, being thoughtless about other people and deliberately taunting and gloating, not really social behaviors I can appreciate. I don't know what she did on week one to turn everyone against her, in fact I'm not even sure that's true except in her victim-like mind.

I see a big lack in her social game from what they are showing us and what is reported in the blog. I've seen her exit talks to each person who has been evicted and I think those say a lot about her. I just plain don't like her and I see similarities to Russell.

I could be wrong about her and she may have a heart of gold, but I do know my mind is my own and not run by a mob of any kind. We can agree to disagree, right?

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Laurie, I do believe that you're getting a skewed portrayal of her. Yes, she can be some of those things you mention, but so can anybody else in that house. The fact that she and Brendon actually fell for each other probably wasn't planned and you know how it is at that stage of a relationship, all you want to do is be with each other, no matter what. It's not logical or rational, it's emotional but it's strong and really hard to overcome. IMHO. That's what people are really most upset about, and it's something she didn't orchestrate.

By and large, she is incredibly considerate to everyone in the house, especially considering how she KNOWS they are basically all against her. If she were any more considerate, I'd think she was the biggest doormat EVER! As it is, she's much more gracious to some of those assholes than I would ever be.

She's got her issues, of course. She's possessive of Brandon, yes. But so are many women at that stage in a relationship, and the hard thing to factor in is the isolation of living in that house PLUS the 24/7 contact with a new love interest. That's not a typical situation that we out here can easily relate to.

By mob mentality I mean bandwagon. And the editors play the game too, especially for those who don't watch the feeds.

Yes we can agree to disagree! Always! :D

Jackie's blog is my BB home on the net and I like that I feel free to post whatever I'm thinking, even when it's contrary.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Laurie, I should also add this caveat to my last post: for the past several weeks, I can barely watch BBAD or the feeds for any length of time since they all annoy me so much, including R&B. Every time I see R&B alone together talking, I might listen for a minute or two but then I turn it off, so to be honest, she may have become a megabitch when I wasn't paying attention. I mostly only watch them nowadays when they are together with the whole house.

The only group I actually enjoy watching is Enzo, Lane and Britney, but even they are becoming annoying to me.

Re: Rachel's paranoia: is it still paranoia if they really *are* out to get you?

Laurie said...

As my dad used to say, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you!

It's rare for us to disagree and I certainly support you being free to share your opinion. No worries!

I do wish BB would show more of the other players and less of R&B. Or maybe just more of the pretty fish since the rest of the players are annoyingly boring!

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

AND (I'm on a roll) I'm really getting sick and tired of the way they talk about Brendon's toe. I don't know what the problem is, but it's juvenile and imho the sort of behavior that I have most contempt for--talking behind his back about a physical feature he has no control over. It's not like a haircut (Hayden) that someone can change, or their clothes, which is their choice. I detest hearing these kinds of jokes, and it's the reason I'm souring on Britney, Lane and Enzo, too.

Laurie said...

You are cracking me up here. I haven't heard about the toe, but I agree that it is very juvenile to make fun of things people can't change.

One of the (many) reasons I want Rachel out is to see how that changes the dynamics in the house. When the main focus of a group's energy is removed, things happen and it's usually interesting to observe.

I can hope for interesting things, right?

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Laurie, I agree, sort of. The problem is that if it becomes interesting, then I will find myself spending too much time watching the feeds! LOL So in a selfish sort of way, I'm glad it's boring, I'm getting so much more housework done!

Another thing that bugs me is how they toss around the concept of who "deserves" to be here. IMHO, Kristen didn't, simply because she had shown no skill in any of the comps or the game in general. In contrast, Rachel really *does* deserve to be there, although I understand that that is what actually makes her a target.

I sort of would rather see Brendon go, because I think he's a kind soul and there are some really nasty people in that house and I don't want to see him left alone with them. Plus, he's mostly boring. Leaving Rachel in the house without "her man" would be much, much more interesting. Far as I can tell, so far she's really the only one playing the game all out.

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now. :D

lynn1 said...

FA, I agree with some of what you are saying but I don't think Rachel has great social skills. Forget her interaction with most of the house guest and just look at her interaction with Brendon. If he has any differing point of view from her she gets upset at him.
I do think she has people out to get her. One reason for that is that she is a strong competitor.
On the other hand I have not seen her make efforts to curb her impulsive comments or behaviors in order to help her game.
I think she did make an honest apology to Kristin but Kristin was to dumb to accept it.
I feel that most of the house guests are shallow and immature folks.
I don't hate Rachel but some of her action and comments irritate me. I do think she is a good competitor but I still feel her social game is bad.
I don't have the feeds either so I may have a warped view of Rachel.

The person I most diskie in the entire house is Matt. He thinks so highly of himself and he is such a weenie.

RBennie said...

That "deserve to be here" thing really bites my butt too! I hate when I hear any of the say that (and they all do). If you were chosen to be on the show then you deserve to be there - it's as simple as that. Rachel deserves to be there just as much as any of them (too bad if I don't want her to be there, LOL). I really wish they would retire that line, along with "thrown under the bus" and "with that being said".

RBennie said...

Once again I agree with you Lynn. Matt is by far my least favorite in the house.

lynn1 said...

Although I find Matt's lie about his wife despicable that is not my main reason for disliking him.
His belief tht he is so much more intelligent and has so much more strategic skills is that part that I dislike.
I feel like sitting him down and explaining that the 2 times he has won HOH, brains weren't involved. He outlasted all of the hamsters and then made a deal with Ragan. That was real genius at work Mattie boy.

RBennie said...

I keep forgetting to mention Kristen's boyfriend back home. What was she thinking messing around with Hayden when she had that waiting at home for her? I thought he was way hotter than Hayden, but then I don't find Hayden hot at all. I know it was only a two-month long relationship, but it still must be very embarrassing for the poor guy.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

lynn1, I agree about Matt, that's why I dislike him so much too.

As for Rachel, I'm not a fan of hers by any stretch of the imagination, and I agree that she doesn't have great social skills, but compared to everyone else and considering her position (wrt Brendon, and wrt her being a good competitor) I think she's doing a fair enough job. I think she's doing better than I'd be able to under the same circumstances.

The others who seem to be good social players have yet to really feel any sort of threat to themselves, so their true colors just have not been revealed. We all thought Kristen was OK until she got put under stress and then she revealed some very unattrative sides of herself. Rachel has been under that stress since week one, that's all I'm saying.

Laurie said...

Matt seems to be everyone's least favorite person. I wonder if the house guests feel that way, too. He is extremely annoying on TV!

Anonymous said...

Just like many of you I don't care much for Matt but I saw another side to him when I read the his first HOH blog.Go to the official BB12 website and have a read. See what you think.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Matt, Ragan, Britney and Lane were hatching a plan whereby Matt would ask Rachel for her $5k in exchange for R&B not being put on the block, and then put them up anyway.

BB told him he can't do that.

I hope anyone who considers doing business with Matt in the future should know that he had to be TOLD that outright fraud (receiving payment and not delivering) is not allowed.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

I don't really dislike Ragan, but I sort of can't wait until he has his eyes opened. He is so naive about everyone, he thinks that because he is so analytical and that he constantly goes over every scenario, that he knows what is going on. Yet he doesn't even know what is going on right under his own nose.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

This convo between Ragan, Matt and Britney is just beyond belief.

They are complaining about R&B talking about peoeple behind their backs.

If nothing else, BB demonstrates more clearly than anything else that people are ALL, by nature, hypocrites. They cannot see the 2x4s in their own eyes, yet can see the speck in everyone else's.

I'm sure I'm included in that characterization.

FA (Formerly Anon) said...

Britney, I know you don't read this blog, but everytime you talk about Brendon's toe, you become a little bit uglier. Keep talking.

K in WI said...

Funny how the battlelines get drawn.

R&B making fun of Brit's fiance's job as a medical tech being just testing urine. Yup, works both ways doesn't it.

I guess Rachel was on her Vegas kick again last night and was upset that Brit wouldn't admit to having made out with girls so that she wouldn't look like the only one. She just doesn't get that Brendan doesn't want to hear about that crap.

Anyway, while I don't approve of Matt's big lie, and I thought he was crazy not to put up R*B when he was HOH, I can't be totally sure yet that he isn't pretty smart. Afterall Rachel took out Kristen rather than him.

I guess we won't really know who the smart one is until we see who's there at the end.

Sorry -- not trying to pick a fight. I wonder if there's a full moon today, LOL

Laurie said...

Hey K in WI, no fighting just really enjoying sharing different view points. Everyone is welcome to play!

I have to step away for a bit because I actually have stuff to get done today. I took the day off work to catch up on home stuff and, well, nothing is really done yet! It's just past noon here, so maybe I can accomplish something this afternoon.

K in WI said...

Every now and then I see "Comment removed by author" or something to that effect.

I don't know how to do it, LOL, or I would have removed my last post.

Don't know why I'm in such an argumentative mood today.

Actually I think I'm arguing with myself because I do go round and round about Brendan, Rachel and Matt. The rest of them are pretty benign to me I guess. And that in and of itself is probably frustrating me too!

Again my apologies for what may have looked like a lack of respect for the opinions of others.

K in WI said...

Laurie, good luck with your "home" work. Hope yours goes better than mine. The closet bar has just fallen in one closet for the second time this summer right after I got the bar up in a different closet. Don't even have the clothes back on yet.

Grrrrrrr!

I better step away and save catching up for my reward later tonight.

Love reading everyone's comments and observations.

I seem to recall hearing this same plot in past seasons also. All the trash talking the hamsters are doing today is unbelievable. It's like they have been muzzled and were just released or something. The zingers are flying from all corners of the house.

Anonymous said...

I think she did make an honest apology to Kristin but Kristin was to dumb to accept it.

Is that the apology that Brendon basically forced her to make that they showed on TV. The one where she ended it by saying something like "I'm sorry you took it the wrong way?" Because if that's the apology you're talking about then we have very different viewpoints of what an honest apology is. I don't think Kristen was the best or smartest player but Rachel did attack her and she just fought back.

As far as Brenchel being targeted since week one... They were the first known alliance in the house and they didn't keep it a secret. Of course everyone wants you out if you make it known that you're a team. Then she went on her "my man" kick and everything is "me & Brendon". They're not playing the game as individuals, they're playing as a team. I'd be on the bandwagon too if I were in the house!

lynn1 said...

ORK, no that is not the apology I am talking about. I am talking about shortly after Rachel and Kristen had a blow up in the backyard after Rachel won the HOH.
Rachel went to Kristen and tried in her own words "to offer an olive branch." She sounded sincere to me and Kristen said I do not accept your apology.
Hayden got on Kristen's case about it.
I think the apology you are thinking about is the one that Rachel did at Brendon's prompting after the nomination ceremony when she said "bring it on."
That apology was not heartfelt and sincee. She did it to make Brendon happy.

Zoetawny said...

Laurie...

ITA with your post, took the words right out of my mouth. ;)

I would have liked Ragan winning HOH. He seems to be reasonable and honorable but then that's not how the BB game is played,is it? Matt is totally too full of himself and not half as smart as he thinks he is. But, I am glad that Brendon didn't win HOH, mainly because I couldn't stand Rachael gloating over it. I think Brendon would have played a smarter game if he hadn't hooked up with Rachael prematurely. For the most part an overt showmance doesn't help your strategy especially if you isolate yourself from the other houseguests and nobody likes your other half.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jeff and Jordan soon. I haven't been following Jeff's "Around the World for Free" but wish I had the time.

Have a great weekend all!

Laurie said...

Hey ZT, good to see you! I haven't been following Jeff's show either. No time for another show. I only watch BB after it's over and then I FF through most of it. I think of you often and always with a smile!
