The Amazing Race - Season Finale Blog Party Post

Jackie's TV Blog, Amazing Race, TAR

Sigh, football again even for the season finale! I'm not a football fan at all to begin with and it really bugs me that CBS constantly schedules full episodic television on nights they KNOW the games run over. They ought to juggle the schedule and, if need be, schedule the football until 8 PM with commentary or whatever and lose a show on Sunday nights.

TAR is delayed by about a half-hour here in the NYC viewing area. Once it starts, as it airs here, I'll update this post with major happenings. Later tonight (or at least by morning) my show review should be posted over on TV Squad. But the real fun will be during showtime right here in the comments area. Everyone is welcome to join in! I'd like to see either Brook/Claire or Nat/Kat win, but all three teams going into this finale are strong!

NAT AND KAT HAVE WON THE AMAZING RACE!

Jill and Thomas haven't even gotten to the final task yet. Brook and Claire almost to the final pit stop.

Brook and Claire, number 2.

Jill and Thomas in, didn't show them doing the final task.

Wow! Next season's "Unfinished Business" looks like a bunch of great teams including some from this season!

Yep ... playing the theme!

Merrilee said...

Yay! Go Brooke and Clair!!

joyn said...

Don't think I'd mind any of the three pairs winning but maybe Nat and Kat because they've gotten along the best.

Delee said...

AND Survivor finale next Sunday probably will be delayed too!!! GRRR

Hey, everyone! I like Jill and Thomas, but I hope that an all girl team wins.

Merrilee said...

I would be FREAKING OUT! I hate bungi jumping

joyn said...

I get queasy just watching them.

Jackie S. said...

With the knee replacement, I'm forbidden to bungee jump. But I'd love to!

joyn said...

You've definitely got cujones, Jackie. I couldn't unless my life depended on it. Even then, I'd be considering.....

I have no favorites here tonight so I am rooting for them all!! But I would really love to see one of the all-girl teams win!!

Brought some guacamole & chips to pass - anyone bring the margaritas?

Sue on the left coast

Delee said...

I can not believe they have done a remake of True Grit...what next Sound of Music! Grrrr

Jackie S. said...

This might be the most equally matched trio of teams ever at the finale.

LOVE Jeff Bridges!

joyn said...

And they all want it so bad!

Loving the fact that Nat and Kat are in the lead since they are my team in the pool. Especially since Nat made the mistake of not watering the roses, but they're still in first place.

Did anyone else understand their next clue? I'd be totally in trouble.

Don Quixote

~~Silk said...

I cannot believe they don't know who Sancho Panza is!

Merrilee said...

I just googled it! Don Quixote

Delee said...

Oh no I would be horrible about this!

Becky said...

Nat and Kat are my favorites. Jill and Thomas are not having much luck.

Becky said...

Is it not against the rules to take notes? Smart idea though.

Jackie S. said...

Bungee jumping is easier than doing the final task!

Delee said...

Guy last year used notes, if I remember correctly

joyn said...

I'm loving this finale! Bob Eubanks sounds exactly the same. Looks old but so do I.

Merrilee said...

From now on I am taking notes on what the person was wearing and where in the world I am when after each pitstop.

because right now, I am batting a big fat ZERO!

Jackie S. said...

I knew the Quixote clue, but I've been known to tilt at windmills ...

Delee said...

I had to read Don Quixote in Spanish in 12th grade...HAHA

Jackie S. said...

Even with their notes, they're not having an easy time of it. Brook and Claire are almost there, but I can't see them acing through it.

joyn said...

Nat and Kat may be done before the others even get there.

Delee said...

Trouble is if N/K have all correct except the Russian one that is when it is hard to figure out which is wrong!

joyn said...

If the other two teams didn't take notes, I hope they have a good memory for faces.

Merrilee said...

I know it is to early to call it, but I believe we will have the first girls only team with Kat and Nat being the winners.

joyn said...

"Bad" cabbies are rife tonight!

Delee said...

SPLASH for my team....1st girl team to win!!!!

joyn said...

NAT and KAT!!!! YAY!!!!

~~Silk said...

Amusing comment that their first language problem was back in their own country.

Becky said...

Great! Nat and Kat won. The two little bimbos who didn't want an all girl team to win can eat dirt! Girls won #1 and #2.

Jill and Thomas didn't even get to do the last taks, did they? What bad luck, that cabbie costs them them a million dollars.

joyn said...

This was a real feel-good ending to the season.

Delee said...

Jill and Thomas did not figure out Quixote so not all the cabbie's fault. Maybe!

Merrilee said...

Looks like an allstars race next season

joyn said...

Can't wait for the new season in January! All-Stars!

joyn said...

Oops! February 20!

Delee said...

Already have a few favs on All Stars

Last one out of the pool is a rotten egg!

Not just an All-Star season, but finally in HD!!!

joyn said...

Just saw Nat and Kat and Brook and Claire on the Early Show. Claire is now a blond (with dark roots). She is also married and expecting a baby. Because of the pregnancy, they won't be on the all-stars season. Referred to the expected little one as her "watermelon" baby.

That really was a good season. My wv is gurlys. Fitting!

I am so happy that history was made with a female team finally winning the Amazing Race. And not only that, but two all girl teams won first and second !

I like Nat and Kat. They were one of the only teams not shown to have any arguments and not to lose their tempers. They stayed calm the entire time. I think their medical training came in handy in terms of not losing their cool, staying focused, and staying calm.

Ugghhh............so NOT happy about Luke the whiner and his enabling Mom coming back. :(

Yea for Nat & Kat! So happy to see them win, and to squelch the bad mojo from the volleyball girls! They were the worst part of Elimination Station this season, IMO.

Excited for the next season and love some of the teams coming back!

Will check back after the season finale of Survivor on the West Coast! Have a great week!
