Big Brother 13 Live Feeds Into Friday Evening/Noms 8/26

I'm at a loss for words here.

I don't know ... things are getting very weird. Whether it's good, bad or production-assisted, I don't know. Here are today's happenings from inside that Big Brother House of Creepers:
  • Jordan looks horrible. She must have cried most of the night.
  • While she continues to snub Shelly, at least she doesn't lunge at her screaming and swearing like she did last night. It was weird to see Rachel practically have to carry Jordan away from Shelly before fisticuffs broke out.
  • Jordan is still very upset that she embarrassed her grandfather and mother with her bad behavior.
  • Kalia and Porsche attached at the hip are already driving me crazy. Even when not whispering, they talk so fast and like back in their throats or something that it's hard to understand them.
  • There was a lockdown as production did something in the HoH room.
  • That led to speculation that it might be a Pandora's Box coming.
  • Oh, they were right.
  • I'd like to take those stupid furry winter boots that Rachel wears in the California summer and burn them.
  • I just had to get that off my chest. She looks stupid wearing them and pulling her long sleeves down over her hands.
  • No, I'm not making comments on her looks. I really try not to do that. I'm talking her fashion sense. Or lack thereof.
  • Porsche told Adam she'd like to put him and Rachel on the block.
  • He's not so keen on that. He's worried that Jordan will win veto.
  • Kalia finds that thought laughable.
  • Adam told her she should nominate Rachel and Jordan.
  • But Kalia/Porsche don't seem to want to nominate Jordan.
  • They both have a lot of sympathy for Jordan.
  • But Jordan is such a pretty sad gal that it's hard not to feel sorry for her.
  • Yet they would like Adam to win HoH next week and do the dirty deed of eliminating Jordan. Then the next week, they get rid of him.
  • Obviously, they're working on the assumption that Rachel goes this week.
  • Meanwhile, Jordan and Rachel are sure they've already lost all possibilities of getting to the end.
  • They both decide that if Kalia makes it to the end, she'll have their votes along with Jeff and Brendon.
  • Whoops! There goes Pandora's Box!
  • For opening it Porsche got herself and Kalia $5,000 each.
  • The downside is the game returns to duos -- Kalia/Porsche, Adam/Shelly and Rachel/Jordan.
  • So, if Rachel and Jordan get nominated, one could win the veto and both could come off the block.
  • But I have no clue if Adam/Shelly win and save Rachel/Jordan. I don't think they can.
  • Rachel and Jordan are once again happy campers. They might have a chance to survive at least a bit longer.
  • Adam sat like a little fanboy saying how much he loves BB.
  • Blech.
  • What Adam doesn't know is that folks in his hometown have been asked to evacuate for the hurricane. He'd never guess that one!
  • Shelly is still bitter that Jordan is so mad at her.
  • I don't really know what else she expected. Jordan went above and beyond for Shelly and, nice girl that she tends to be, the betrayal hurts.
  • In other developments, Rachel claims she's two weeks late and thinks she's pregnant.
  • @@
  • Others think she's saying it for attention.
  • It could be either.
  • I just don't think she's ready to be a mother right now.
  • Kalia once again complained her jeans are ripping at the crotch.
  • Well, if she didn't wear such tight jeans, they wouldn't do that. I know that when I wear tight jeans, they end up ripping at the seams there and along the thigh. Plus, tight jeans make heavier legs look like sausage.
  • I guess I'm on a fashion kick.
  • While I'm on it, I'm tired of Porsche's pink sweatsuit. Of course, it's better than that floor length whatever she wears.
  • Gosh, I wish the feeds would come back from nominations.
  • Yes, I'm sitting here filling in blank space while waiting for the word.
Finally ... confirmation -- Jordan and Rachel are on the block. Jordan said they still have veto and can take themselves off.

It might be both.
If Rachel is pregnant I have 2 comments .
1) God Bless that baby.
2) I hope the Vegas (or where ever she ends up living) Child Protective Services keeps a watchful eye out for that baby.
I don't think Rachel would be abusive but I think she is not stable enough to nurture a child.

4899 people Like it and counting! HaHaHa. Did I mention I hate Shelly?

Shelly is upset that Jordan is upset???? Wow. She is also complaining that she (Shelly) is getting all the blame for engineering the failed flip. IT WAS HER IDEA!

If Shelly can't even own her behavior, continues to blame Jordan for having feelings, and continues to revile Rachel's character which in contrast to Shelly's is looking pretty good and shiny then I don't even know what to say.

Feel bad for Shelly's daughter, the kids at school are gonna be like "isn't your mom that really really really tan lady on BB that everybody hates?"

I know the boots & long sleeves bug you, but I have to say in their defense that along the Southern California coast, both are fashionable year round. It is a surf thing. Surfers wear boots, especially Uggs after surfing, along with light weight hoodies. At night it gets cold here. Boots & sweatshirts are fashionable 24/7 year round, especially if they are a surf brand. Will that help you understand & tolerate the look? :0)

No, anon. I like that look only a smidgen more than pants on the ground.

Thank you.

As far as I could tell, Rachel had not said anything about being pregnant this past week (IF she is really pregnant). The only she apparently said was that she was 2 weeks late (that's no guarantee).

Dani and crew started guessing she's pregnant a few days ago and it only took milliseconds before making some pretty nasty cracks and then wanting to demand BB give her a pregnancy test.

Any concerns people might have about Rachel having a baby come from seeing Rachel in the worst possible light... on BB.

Granted, Rachel is immature, but she would not be the 1st immature woman to have a baby and do just fine. My guess is that she would be like so many other young women and grow up with having the responsibility of a child.

I'm not a Rachel fan, but I am trying not to judge or be too critical. After all, none of us knows her other than what we see on the show (I personally find Brendon more irritating).

Remember, Regan hated Rachel with a passion on the show, but then became a close friend on the outside. Which says all may not be as it seems where Rachel is concerned.

Jackie S. said...

Rachel talked to Jordan about it today.

Anonymous said...

This back to duo crap is some BS. No fair. Now Rordan has a chance and winning!!

Anonymous said...

Oh, the duo thing is just for ONE WEEK. Kalia just said so.

Anonymous said...

Correct Jackie.
Unfortunately, after posting, I realized that I left out "prior to telling Jordan." But mainly, I was talking about prior to today. Dani and crew were guessing for the past week and couldn't have known prior to the 'confession' today.

Kalia about Rachel: "She's the f*%$ing wicked witch that won't die. We keep dousing water on her, but she's still here..."

I think I read on Dingo's page that Rachel was on her period during the surfboard challenge on July 28. She isn't two weeks late, and I'm guessing just Rachel drama. I remember Janelle doing that in both her seasons. It just gives the other side something to hate on. That's all.

I don't like the calling out Shelly's daughter in posts. We can all say what we want about the house guest, but her daughter (8 years old none the less) should be left out of it. We can praise how cute she is and all, but the other stuff is just icky. She's a little girl and I'm sure her parents will make sure she is fine when this show is over. People should not bring her into any of their rationale for whatever they think of Shelly. IMO

Anonymous said...

" don't like the calling out Shelly's daughter in posts. We can all say what we want about the house guest, but her daughter (8 years old none the less) should be left out of it..."

Well I think we should leave Shelly out of it as well. We have to remember that these people are human beings with souls and feelings. Just because she isn't an 8 year old doesn't mean she deserves to be cyber-bullied when she can't defend herself.

Thanks Jackie. I honestly don't get it. It hasn't even been as bad here as I've seen on other parts of the Web including the youtube and the CBS site. People are really going after Shelly. And it's all personal hate attacks. She made an important move. I just hope none of this gets to her when she gets out of the house. Hopefully she doesn't read this ignorance.

After watching Rachel comforting Jordan last night on BAD, I think she would be a very good mother. She was kind to Jordan. Maybe she has been a little immature on this show. I didn't watch all of last year but from what I saw the two people I thought were the most immature were Monet and Brittany. They weren't just immature they were cruel and had no reason to be from what I saw.

this is crazy, again I totally agree.
I start to read your posts and don't know it is you until I get to the end.
Shelly is despicable.
she is everything she says she despises in others.
Look in the mirror b-tch.
well I really can only pray that somehow r/j win this dang veto and shelly goes out the door.
they (r/j) would be the two votes to get her out.
it would be nice to see adam and shelly have to beg them to keep her.
on another note, adam got upset that jeff asked him which way he voted???
for one jeff was clearly in shock
second I think he was not sure what shelly did.
and lastly adam almost did vote him out when he sat there unsure what to do.!!!
perhaps if we all think real hard r/j we can will them to win the veto and shake things up once again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackie I am so glad you are putting this in the proper perspective about the hating and the nasty comments....this is a game, not the national debt , nor Irene as she bears down on us.
I am sad Shelly flipped on J & J but it was a real game move, it was huge....what I dont like is Kalia and Porche were the beneficiary of it....had she done it in the reverse we all would be dancing and popping champagne.

Rachel might be unstable as far as this game, and her rekationship with Brendon, well.suspect, but I think she would be a warm loving mother....just not now.

Porche who was given the golden ticket BY Rachel and Brendon, and floated till just recently..she bothers me. Kalia is mean and vindictive...as a due they should be sent to the jury house....ha! Jeff and Brendon would "show them around" at least they would have Dani to mourn with...

Witt said...

I don't hate Shelly, but I find it very confusing that she's been crying over being a major part of ousting Jeff when she made the decision to go ahead and flip. Like Joe said yesterday, make a move and own it. If she doesn't understand why Jordan feels a teensy bit betrayed after Jordan heard weeks of "I'm on your side now and forever" that shows just a tad of the ridiculous on Shelly's part.

I don't agree with bringing her daughter into this at all. That's just an out of bounds comment and I won't ever condone that.

Re: Rachel being late...that means nothing. Women's cycles can flip around in the breeze in stressful situations, and if this isn't a stressful situation, what is? I doubt she is pregnant and her "friend" will come back on schedule when she returns home out of this madness (or to her Bukie, whichever comes first).

All of you in hurricane zones: stay safe today and tonight!

I'm with anon on Rachel's fashion. It is very trendy. I've never understood it but my students all do it, all summer long. In fact I landed in the Miami airport last winter and was dying of the heat having come from 20-something up north. As I was waiting for my luggage a young woman walked by in shorts and Uggs and I almost burst out laughing...

When you're old, the fashion makes no sense...looking like a fool with your pants on the ground.. :)

Joe in NY said...

Witt - Totally agree

Joe in NY said...

BTW, I wouldn't expect Porsche to be particularly grateful for being "given a golden ticket". She got the golden ticket by virtue of having her partner booted out. It wasn't a free gift.

I've seen far worse people than Rachel with babies...and that was after they have the child. She'll do just fine. Her father will be a bit of a control freak, but her Mom will just love her to death. Especially as needy as Rachel is, she will totally bond to the child. Of course she will have to give up drinking for a while which Ragan says is her favorite thing! :)

I think if people really stopped to look at it, they don't hate Shelly. The love Jeff so completely and unreasonably that they have just flipped on Shelly as a way of venting.

In the end, if you think about it, Shelly did nothing more than Jeff himself did. In fact, you might say she did less. Shelly threw a meaningless vote to Dani and Dani still went home. Ultimately she needed Jeff out, heck everyone did, and it was disloyal. But Jeff and Jordan actually voted Brendon out the second time by voting with the house. While they couldn't have saved him, they could have split the vote and forced Dani to break the tie. But J/J decided for the good of their own game to "vote with the house" which in some sense is disloyal to Brendon as well.

No one (but me) ever suggested J/J should vote for Brendon out of loyalty. Why? Because y'all mostly dislike Brendon. Shelly does the same thing and because you all LIKE Jeff you compare her to murderers and trash her character.

It is so funny. Especially when you consider how much Dr. Will is adored by BB fans. Dr. Will stabbed everyone in the back all the time! But because people found Will to be charming and handsome they call him the greatest player of all time.

IMO Shelly is neither evil nor the greatest player of all time. But I'll tell you what, if she makes the final 2 she'll prove she was the best player in the house this year. I mean what does superfan Adam think he's doing? Boy doesn't have a clue! Rachel and Dani undermined their games by getting personal. Kalia is a nut but she's at least playing. Even Porsche has stepped it up. Jordan is Blanche Dubois...always "getting by on the kindness of strangers". Shelly made a strategic move even though it was personally difficult. I can actually respect that. I'd respect it more if she'd just own it.

Joe in NY said...

We really need to know the rules for the POV. Can anyone but the nominees remove the nominees? That would be a huge twist. I mean, for example:

Suppose Adam wins POV and could remove Rachel and Jordan. Well Adam is also safe. Isn't the only option then for Kalia and Shelly to be the automatic nominees? How great a flip would that be?

And if Rachel/Jordan win POV and Adam goes up, wouldn't you love to see him bowing and scraping for their vote to stay!

Depending on the rules for the POV, and who wins, this could be an even better week than last week!

Joe in NY said...

On another note: how many people who are suddenly warming up to Rachel are only doing it because she's suddenly Jordan's best friend?

Anonymous said...

People are warming up to Rachel because she isn't Shelly. The field is narrowing and we have to like someone and not like someone. That is human nature, at least the BB style of it. Clearly, many have decided the 'not like' will be Shelly. That doesn't leave many to champion, and Rachel wins it by default.

With Dr. Will - he was very open about the fact he was going to lie to you. It was up to you to believe him or not. With Shelly, she befriended Jordan, grew her trust, acted disgusted when challenged and questioned if she was still with them and touted herself as something other than her actions. Yes, I understand it is a game, but at this point I do not like that she expects an apology from Jordan which translates to me she does not understand the level of emotions and trust that she betrayed. She gave the perception it was something BEYOND the game. I find it interesting she feels Jordan is only reacting to the non-vote for Jeff and does not connect how this person saw her as a "mother" figure. This is why I have a dislike for her -game or not.. she wants to have her words sell her as something her actions say she is not. Leaves the question.. who is the real Shelly?

And as a game play... her being with Jeff and Jordan was not a guarantee she would not have won anything.. if she was to bet on herself - if she won the last HOH, she could have chosen who to take with her or there were still other people in the house who could have broken them up. In my opinion, as far as game play, she pulled the plug too soon and now has to life with it. In my opinion, it is going to be hard for her to get much further simply because NO ONE trusts her.

In regards to the sudden "like" for Rachel..it may have to do with her kindness to Jordan, but also her antics have lessened now that she is without Brendon. Her emotions are not as animated and over the top for attention and she seems to have settled down. Her emotions seem to be more controlled without needing to keep Brendon's attention.

I'm very interested in the POV and must admit for the viewing, I am hoping Rachel/Jordan win it.. and see where the votes swing..

I didnt enjoy the whole "save rachel 400 dollars by throwing the medicine ball at her stomach".
Rachel may be catty, but so is Porshe, Kalia and Dani.
It kills me when these girls complain that Rachel is SO catty and mean, but they act the same way they are just so far up their own butt they dont realize it.
Shelly is just pathetic crying about how all she did was make a game move, I agree but she takes NO responsibility for Jordan being upset. Shelly betrayed Jordan when Jordan thought they were friends on a "life" level. I would be hurt also
Go team Rachel and Jordan!!

Excuse me? Did she think that Jordan should just smile and let bygones be bygones. It ain't gonna work that way, Biddy. Jordan gives her entire self to her love or friendship. You spat on it.

I read where Shelly was saying how ashamed Jordan's family would be because of the hissy fit that Jordan threw. I think they will understand her blowing up a lot better than Shelly's daughter will with the rule you can not lie, it is wrong and then go on national TV and lie through your teeth -- over and over and over. And then deny that you lied.

I was a big defender of Shelly. But not any more.

At this point in the BB game, I always want to see the first episode again to see the introductions and who said what before they knew each other. Were they more true to themselves that first day, or were they already pretending to be someone else?

Jordan shows her real emotions and feelings, I think that is something refreshing about her. I am often cynical about other hgs and their motives. It could be Rachel and Shelly (and others, too) tears are real, but I am never completely convinced they aren't just playing a role.

Jackie, Thanks for monitoring and giving us a place to discuss the show. I think you have a good group here this year with some interesting viewpoints going on. Your place is always much more intereting than just seeing the show and/or feeds alone.

And, Witt, no problem, I often do the same thing. My head thinks but my fingers type on their own. I hope you are OK with Irene.

Joe, Porsche went into diary to clarify that. They said if say for instance that Adam and Shelly won it and took J & R down, then Adam and Shelly would have to go on the block.

Becky said...

Jackie, since you are monitoring the board, please post about any hurricane preparations your area has urged.

I just want to say that my mention of Shelly's daughter was not meant as a slam to her. Children learn by watching their parents. In the example that Shelly has set forth, then the rationale that an eight year old could reach is lying is wrong -- unless there is a monetary reward at stake. Ten dollars to a child is like $500,000to an adult.

I could not do this show. I don't know that I could compromise my principals, morals and beliefs for money. Some can, I can't.

I think CBS should show the mean girls in action. Were it not for this blog I would not be aware of how hateful and petty they have been.

WV: lessel -- to me being poor rather than giving up my principals is the lessel of two evils.

To KMOD, exactly! Good post!

I don't hate Shelly or anybody else in the house. But I have zero respect for her game and it bugs the heck out of me that she is now ragging on and disrespecting Jordan saying how Jordan has embarrassed her mom and grandpa?????

Wow!

Shelly appears oblivious to exactly what went down. She thinks J is upset that S flipped and got Jeff outted.

But S did not out Jeff. Kalia won HOH and Porsche won POV, that got Jeff outted. So weirdly S is taking credit for something she did not do and taking the blind eye of denial for that which she did do...which was get inside Jordan's heart, proclaim her undying love and loyalty to a level far beyond game play and then tear Jordan's heart in half, not by flipping, not by her votes, not because Jeff left . No. Jordan is crushed for one reason. She found out Shelly lied and lied and lied to Jordan, and Jordan believed her, supported her, defended her, loved her, trusted her.

Within the game Jeff got booted. Jordan isn't thrilled about that but she is OK with it. Her upset, 95% of what she is saying on Jokers is how hurt she is about Shelly's lying about her love and loyalty and regard. That is a far bigger deal than lying about a vote.

And then S compounds the situation by bashing Jordan openly?

Shelly wins, doesn't win whatever. Most of us barely remember more than a handful of BB players over the years. But win or lose Shelly seems to have done something inside the game that is bigger than the game and I predict will follow her into her personal life in a very negative way for some time to come. Much in the way that last year so many people were anti Rachel that it really spilled over and had a bad effect on her life after she left the game.

I have always felt that since 99% of the people who go on BB and Survivor will never win shouldn't you want to leave a somewhat good impression in people's minds (think Jordan) rather than walk away with no money AND people thinking you're really awful (think Matt, Brendon, Natalie, and now Shelly?)

Just went to another BB site and was horrified to read some specifics reported regarding the creation of Shelly/Josie hate sites. That could not be more wrong, not OK, cannot be condoned. I think all of us here and 99.9% of the people who watch the show would never condone or participate in such things.

I think the people who do that are nut job extremists who do not reflect the rest of us. It saddens me to think of of anybody promoting violence or harm to any BB participant and I stand absolutely 100% against it.

We here on this board freely exchange opinions and criticisms of BB players and I think we keep it all within bounds and I am proud to participate at this level. But I am so shaken to hear of these other horrible sites I feel like I will be very cautious in any of my future posts just to eand on the side of greatest reason and least emotion.

Dr Will still is the only one who knew lying was part of the game and was clear about it. Would Shelly's daughter be disappointed that her mother bluffed in poker? It is a game and that's part of it. Even in poker, someone will chatter away acting like they're your best friend and might be but they'll take your money any time. Lots of people play poker day after day year after year and do get friendly but still bluff.

On another note, I commented a few days ago that I like jeff because Jordan likes Jeff. Now, I like Rachel because Jordan likes Rachel. I am owning that change of heart.

Pandora's box started as a late in the game twist. Remember when someone was let back in to leave a clue and spelled out a name in pretzels?

If it is true that Porsche picked the duos, she could have split Rachel and Jordan assuring that one would be on the block no matter what.

So it is not that contrived. Porsche just failed to figure out how to use it. I don't like Dani but she'd have that strategy figured out in a heart beat.

It's a free country. Why is there censorship? We are all adults here. People who post hideous things and remarks about hate sites only reflects poorly back on themselves. I don't think ANYONE is going to take up the bandwagon on "hating Shelly" just because there is an awful webpage that touts everyone should do this. As people have told me in the past...these people have agreed to go on national television and be the subject of speculation about their characters, choices, etc. DO NOT GO ON NATIONAL TELEVISION if you do not want others judging you or commenting upon your actions, decisions, and choices. I do not LIKE it when people say, "I hate Shelly" and/or post a website that has this; nor do I think people should hate Shelly's daughter or bring down an 8 year old girl, but SHELLY has some responsibility in this too. SHE agreed and signed a contract to go on the show. She put herself in front of tube (and opened her daughter to this type of ridicule), just as Rachel and others have - for people's "entertainment." Is is "right" that people do this - NO. But if people are finding the drama entertainaing - and then feel offended by "I hate Shelly" comments, shouldn't we then look back at ourselves and our own decisions to even watch this show??? We are entertained by the misery, drama, and suffering of others - we WANT brohahas, drama, yelling, cat fights, or we're "bored"...I think it's a bit self-righteous to delete certain posts who have taken things to the nth degree just because they hate a certain player. As I've said, "It's a free country." This should be an open dialogue on the show whether I like what is said or not. Believe me there are PLENTY of things that others have said about certain players that have offended me...but it is their right to say so. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and awful remarks whether I agree with them or not, otherwise we can all move to China.

I'm not sure Pandora's box makes it any easier for both Jordan and Rachel to stay. It still always was a matter of POV and Adam. Without the new duos, if Jordan and Rachel were on the block then either could save themselves or Adam could save one of them. In either case, the power would be with Adam and Rachel/Jordan as Porsche's side would only have 1 vote to their two.

If anything, this actually makes it harder on Rachel/Jordan since Adam can't help (not that he would) and so it is win or out for them.

Why do we even think BB would care if Jordan and Rachel hung around? Even if Jordan is popular enough that people want to watch her, those same people would probably tune in to see Porsche get got in revenge. And Rachel clearly is polarizing. I don't think many TVs go off if she's booted.

I think it is just another BB ploy to shake things up. I can fully believe it was planned from day 1 not knowing what was going to happen.

Joe in NY said...

By the way, if they really did choose each other it probably wasn't the best move. I know they were emotional that night but if Jordan had talked Adam into partnering it would have made it harder on Porsche...

Clara, This is Jackie's website. She created it, runs it and devotes a lot of time to it. She gets to determine the rules about what isn't allowed.

We're all Jackie's guests here and need to abide by the few rules she's established. It's not hard! People who can't handle the rules are free to go elsewhere.

I beg to differ. J & J’s relationship with R & B was strictly game-based deals and strategies. No one is ever sure those pacts can be completely trusted. Shelly, however, built her alliance with J & J on a lot of personal factors and feelings. She repeatedly talked about valuing their friendship, her gratitude for the phone call, doing something for Jordan’s family, etc. Those personal bonds bring a whole different element to the relationship, which make it easier to assume the game-based agreements are true. As a result, breaking a personal relationship, like the one Shelly cultivated with J & J, is a lot more unexpected and painful, and in my opinion meaner and less admirable, than breaking an alliance created only of game deals and promises.

Before J & J voted against Brendon the second time (the instance in your example) they were upfront about their plans. Since there was no benefit to anyone if they voted for Brendon, it made sense to make the less harmful move to vote to evict him. There was no surprise to their votes and as I remember even Rachel seemed to understand the move.

Shelly, on the other hand, not only secretly agreed to vote against J&J, she became a real cheerleader for the opposition, actively campaigning against not only J & J’s eviction wish, but against them. That, I believe is a huge difference and much more of a betrayal. And her vote to save Dani may have been meaningless, but Shelly didn’t know that when she voted.

Since they are playing a game, the differences might boil down to honor among thieves. But in that case, I think Jeff and Jordan have the honor that Shelly is lacking.

Sarah:

Blog posters have the right to free expression if the blog is a public one, especially one that takes sponsors and advertising with sponsored links. While Jackie has created this blog and it is her "blogger" page, calling a TV show contestant a name or saying "I hate Shelly" is NOT a libelous statement and thus the statements should remain. Censorship should be frowned upon in America, especially on blog sites where people are freely expressing opinions and ideas on public figures.

@Clara

I also think people should be open to express their feelings about the show and characters BUT there also needs to be some class and taste to it. If you dislike Shelly, fine, say so. If you dislike Kalia, okay. But don't be ignorant, racist and trollish about it.

There is a difference between simply expressing a dislike for a character and spamming the site with unneccesary insults that offend the others using the forums. I don't like Jeff and think he's a homophobic jerk, but I'm not going to say I hate him, his family and make any other off colour remarks that may offend the other people using this blog.

Jackie encourages the comments section parties so that people can discuss the show like civil human beings. If you can't discuss the show maturely, with class and taste than I think most other users, including Jackie would agree that we don't want to know your thoughts. It's not about censorship it's about respecting the other users here who have come to discuss the show in a mature manner without being offended by the racial slurs or hate speech.

I also don't think we should kick Clara out of the comments section or be rude to her because of her opinion. I think she expressed them civilly. But, yes, if you do not agree with the so called "censorship," trust me, there are lots of BB blogs out there that allow users to say whatever they want, including the comments section of CBS.com/bigbrother under the videos.

Hello folks,

First off, it wasn't ME who was making the rude comments or being uncivil, tasteless or classless. I was just defending those who have done so because it is people's right to free speech and to express their opinions in the way he/she chooses to do so. I don't HAVE to like it or HAVE to agree with what people are saying to acknowledge that it is their right to do so. I was not defending myself because it was not me who was making those statements. However, I do not believe their opinions should be censored. That is my only point. I am entitled to my opinion which I have expressed honestly and NICELY. I am not telling all of YOU to "go elsewhere." ???? I am asking that people be allowed to share thoughts/ideas more freely without censorship. If Jackie chooses to do as she likes, that is her perogative. However, I wanted to state my opinion on the subject and ask her to consider NOT removing freely expressed ideas. No need to attack me.

Can someone tell me how the wv'S work how are they so relevant?? Or are people just making these up.

The WV's are random. It's just funny how sometimes they pop up with a "relevant" word.

Donna in Alabama said...

I was taught if you do not have something nice to say, do not say it. Here in Jackie's "house" we can say most anything "not nice" about the houseguests. But there is a line that can be crossed as to what is enough. Most people have a filter and know what other people will tolerate, some do not. Those people sometimes need to be censored. Freedom of speech is our right as Americans but somewhere in the last 20 or so years, we have lost sight of respect of others.

I liked Shelly from the start. She is a tomboy, but can be feminine. She seems to take charge in her personal and business life. I never understood her game play. She had to know she could not win against either Jeff or Jordan yet hung with them. I hate that she flipped on them but it was the only way she could possibly get to the end. IMO

I don't hate Shelly, I think she did what she needed to do but I think she could have handled it better for Jordan's sake.

I was not happy with how everything went down Thursday but hey, this is Big Brother, a reality show... not our lives!!

My WV is jaxrocs... not really but it sounds great!!

Porsche just told Shelly that Brendon had a higher opinion of her (I think talking about herself) and Jeff did not. Porsche will be sorry to see the feeds (clips or flashback) and find out differently. Brendon never trusted her and several of B/Rs fights were over Porsche and whether they could trust her or not.

monty924 said...

Another comment on the wvs. They are random and folks here, for many years now, like to have fun with them. My wv is this: meaning this, etc. Just another fun aspect of the blog.

Loved your not so real wv, Donna. I agree! :)

The constitution only says the govt has to let you have free speech. I could lull you all to sleep on the ins and outs of comments on blogs, both legally and historically. I will only use that weapon if I get lulled to sleep by the back and forth about censorship.

(Just kidding, I am not foraying into that topic regardless.)

I believe the duo Pandora box was planned from the start. By this time in every season, the HOH puts up two people that are in the same alliance. Even if there's a backdoor plan, there are usually far too few to risk a pawn. So the game moves are predictable. A twist putting them back in duos, and allowing the POV to save both, would be dramatic regardless of who was left.

Lars -- I am about 45 mins west of the Chesapeake Bay, close to DC. Right now we are just getting a good breeze and the rain has been light to moderate. Our big changes are supposed to come this evening -- more rain, 30-40 mph winds with gusts. Usually during events like this there are restrictions on the Bay Bridge; usually with high profile vehicles and cars trailing boats. Do you have people near the Chesapeake?

Just a thought...

Jordan and Rachel saying if they win POV, they want to put up Shelly and get her out.

Adam and Shelly haven't been good at any of the comps so far...unless they've been totally faking their capabilities.

Can the winner can take their partner off too? If so, I'd choose to take Porsche and/or Kalia out first. Or they can't put up Porsche since she's HOH??

If Rachel/Jordan are able to put up one/both of those 2 and asked Adam to vote with them, he'd know his alliance was sinking and he'd jump back in the boat with Jordan and Rachel.

Or am I way off base?

Sharon

Justene said...

As far as I can tell, whoever wins the POV chooses whether to take R/J off. Once R/J go off, S/A go up because K/P are not eligible. Even if S/A won the POV and used it on R/J, S/A go up. So realistically, R or J have to win veto.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Justene.
That makes sense.

I wondered if there was a possibility they could take themselves off and then choose 1 from each of the other Duos. Porsche would be safe as HOH, but Kalia doesn't have any protection. But guess that isn't feasible.

In the meantime, Shelly went in the Purple Room, closed the door, and has been trying to get the Fortune Teller to kick out something special to help her.
So far, no luck.

Wouldn't it be funny if the Fortune Teller doesn't do anything at all... except make them 'think' there will be something? LOL

I'm not kicking anyone off the blog. I'm asking for civil discourse. You're free to like or dislike any of the hamsters in the house. I personally don't know why people have such hate within themselves for strangers on a television show.

But there is a line to be drawn. If you don't like it, go to the CBS site where all is wild.

And, by the way, "freedom of speech" has absolutely NOTHING to do with blog comments. Google the term. You may learn something. I will remove comments which go beyond the realms of acceptable taste.

anon Clara: People greatly misunderstand the meaning of "free speech". Freedom of speech only applies to public discourse, it does not apply in private environments. Got tell you boss to eff off and when he fires you try claiming freedom of speech. Your employer can restrict your speech as a matter of private business.

That is why internet portals can remove objectionable posts. That is why Jackie can remove any post for any reason on HER site. There is no such thing as freedom of speech on this site. Jackie can impose any rules she likes.

First let me start by saying that I did not see the posts that were supposedly hate and/or racist. But I can't imagine it being any worse than the comments that I have seen about Rachel. I'm a bit shocked that I have not ever seen Jackie step in on them as a matter of fact she usually joins. So why not talk about Shelly?? Lets be fair!!!!

Sally, I liked your 4:02 and 4:07 posts. A lot.

I for one do not hate any of the players. Some of them I do not care about and would not be friends with if I had a chance. Ones like Jordan I would cherish.

Joe, although I do not agree with you about the way Shelly treated Jordan, I do agree with you 100% in your statement about this being Jackie's blog.

I think that Shelly did the best thing for her, but after getting so close to Jordan, she should have told her what she was going to do and why. As Joe has told us, Shelly should have owned up to what she did. I don't think that Jordan would have felt like her friendship meant nothing had Shelly been up front.

As I have said before, I could not play this game.
Donna in AL, your WV jaxrocs... I would think that would be Jack(ie) rocks!

While deplorable that anyone would take this game so personally as to write hate speech about the HGs (or fellow blog followers!), I think it's extremely interesting that this season has produced this reaction in the viewers! On both blogs I follow this has been the case (for the first time in many seasons may I add).
It's interesting to me that so many viewers are so strongly verbal about their personal feelings toward the HGs. These people are in an extreme situation which causes them to behave in extreme ways. Some respond to this form of sensory deprivation better than others. Feel how you will about them, but to verbally bash them is unfair. It's actually one of the reasons I've stopped rooting for Shelly. It all comes down to using manners.

BTW my WV is "curiest": What a curiest phenomenon!
