Survivors ready? It's the two-hour season finale followed by the reunion show! Alas, since it's Sunday night and CBS is a %$#, football has delayed the show. Sigh. I'm not sure when it is to start. I believe football was still on at 7:30 PM (I'm not fan). When I checked at 7:42 PM. 60 Minutes was on. So, I'll get this post up for 8 PM but the show won't be started then.

I don't think it is so obvious what Coach was supposed to do and I think he did really struggle with it. The final 6 deserve credit for the solid 5 and Ozzy for his RI success. To criticize people for little white lies is sour grapes. This season really didn't have any villains or big lies. If your Coach, what are you supposed to do? You've got to send someone home and your aligned with everyone in some way.
And I think Ozzy did call out Coach at last tribal and for no really good reason. Ozzy had the necklace and was safe. Coach had the HII and was safe. There was no need for Ozzy to go after Coach because there was nothing to be gained there for Ozzy. And it really didn't matter to Ozzy who went home, he still had to win his way to the final.

These juries just seem to get more and more bitter as time goes on. You'd think after 20-something seasons they'd be a little more philosophical about it. Especially this year. One tribe wiped out the other tribe. If you are Whitney or Jim or even Ozzy, how can you feel cheated? They flipped Cochran and then ran your whole tribe out and they didn't even try to hide it.
Edna, Rick or Brandon might feel backstabbed, but they had to know that only 3 people make it to the end. I mean have they WATCHED the show!

Well, Petals, my husband says that any Christian who plays this game should NOT use the Christ card because no matter how you look at it, as a Christian, every method they use is wrong. SO, why even mention it? Why use the Christ card. All you are doing is showing people you can lie and back stab, but that's okay, it's a game, I'm forgiven. Just be private. You can pray, but you are doing yourself no good by announcing it to the world. IMO.

Yes, Brandon pushed the card the most. And it's really moot at this point. The game played out this way, this season, and they all contributed to it.
Well, remember, the votes were only a few days apart. They did not have time to heal their wounds. Matter of fact, they had maybe 10 days to heal between voting. Not a lot of time.
I'll never forget Sue's speech to Kelly. Edna is one of the very few who rationalize. She is very intelligent mentally. Not saying the rest aren't, it's just that they usually take it personal, she really didn't. She knew from the beginning that she was not part of the group; and probably wouldn't win.

Becky -- Other than Cochran voting for Coach, I'm not sure. I don't think they showed it. Perhaps online tomorrow.
I thought all the praying was overdone this season...I hate to see religion used for a game. Ozzie's concept of the spiritual and divine as residing in the natural world was appropriate. Thinking "God is on our team's side" is pretty juvenile as though He is the great "concierge" in the sky who deals in "small beer" kinds of issues like which team wins an immunity challenge on television. I do think Brandon was sincere, but am not so sure about Coach who has "situational ethics" at best and Albert who told us on camera he was going along to go along to get along. Oz was right...the jury didn't want to vote for any of them. They picked the least objectional person. She didn't so much win as "not lose." At lease she earned immunity on her own a few times. I would have voted for her too.
I think to switch things up in an upcoming season, Survivor should go old school. No returning players, no hidden immunity idol, no exile island or redemption island. Everyone is expecting it, why not just play the way the first ones were? It would be great. I also wish they'd have a Survivor of first booted contestants if they need to have returning players.
I also wish they'd speak to each contestant during the reunion show--even it is just one sentence aired. It would be nice to hear from Mikayla or Mark or the others.
I'll stop now.
Amy I like your idea about having first booted (or first members of the jury)....might be an interesting twist with Redemption Island, hidden idols, etc. I hope they don't do a Brandon, Uncle Russell season. And you're right about addressing all contestants on the Reunion show.
