The Amazing Race: October 14 Episode Blog Party

Mind you, we shouldn't get used to this. We cannot expect it to happen every week. It would just set us up for disappointment. But ... the show is actually starting on time here on the East Coast.

As it airs, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. However, as always, the real excitement (and party) is in the comments. Come join us!

Caution: U-Turn ahead!

Roadblock: Who wants to serve a balanced meal? They must deliver twenty plates of food at once.

Detour -- Egg head, light their heads on fire to cook eggs. Or .. Lion's Head, join traditional procession, dress in costume, perform and parade.

It's a double U-Turn and teams who use it may remain anonymous. The first group on the first train had already agreed not to U-Turn anyone as they have a three hour lead. From there, it's on the way to the Pit Stop.

1. Abbie and Ryan - won a trip to Fiji
2. Trey and Lexi
3. James and Jaymes
4. Abba and James
5. Josh and Brent

The monster truckers U-Turned Gary and Will who are already in last place. Yeah, that makes sense.

6. Natalie and Nadiya
7. Monster truckers (Rob and Kelley)

Caitlin and Britany are lost while Gary and Will are frying eggs on their heads. They mistakenly thought the monster truckers were behind them and U-Turned them.

8. Gary and Will! (My blog pool pick team)
9. Caitlin and Britany -- Philiminated. Okay with me. They're annoying. They also expect foreign country natives to speak English. @@

Hi Joe, Nickel and Jackie! Happy Sunday evening. Still early here in sunny San Diego.

Jackie S. said...

But, Joe ... Donald Jones of the Bills and his father run a hat store here in town. :-)

Sharon S said...

Late here in CT. A James Bond segment on 60 minutes. :(

Hey,Jackie, Lifeguard Laurie, Joe and Penny.

Becky said...

Thank goodness no delay here.

Joe in NY said...

LOL. That's funny, Jackie...the hat store...

Jackie S. said...

Joe - All kinds of "Buffalo Soldiers" propaganda here in Plainfield, NJ. It started with the hat store.

Sharon S said...

oops -- forgot I get an NYC channel too. Guess I can watch it now after all!

Jackie S. said...

I don;t feel bad that the twins missed the train. Mean me.

Nickelpeed said...

Hi Becky, how are you holding up?

Nickelpeed said...

Ahhh, it's the woman that we thought was a boy last week, who is having a medical problem on Survivor. Ahhhhh.

Becky said...

I am hanging in there, Penny. It is rough, but I am a tough old hen... most of the time. Thanks for asking.

Does the blond girl snorking when she laughs bug anyone else?

Just popping in to say hi! World Series on here and we must watch it until the very end LOL! Will sneak a peek now and then of what is going on so I'm leaving it up to you guys to keep me informed!

I am not comfortable with fire, but I would have gone for Egghead.

Becky said...

For Big Brother fans, do NOT try the chocolate ice cream with melted peanut butter on top the Ian loves. It is addicting.

Nickelpeed said...

Understand Sue; however, am not rooting for Giants since they beat my Reds. :-(

Nickelpeed said...

OMG, Becky. I LOVE the chocolate/peanut butter ice cream!! I love Eddys. It IS addicting.

Nickelpeed said...

I could not eat eggs like that. Hot sauce would kill me.

Becky said...

Penny, me too. I live in TX and hate spicy food.

Joe in NY said...

just started here in Rochester

Nickelpeed said...

Showing them too much, they will make it to the end. I do not believe anyone will detour them.

Nickelpeed said...

My husband loves spicy, Becky. I can't eat it, just kills my intestines. LOL

SueGee said...

Hey Penny I understand about the Giants/Reds...but cannot bring myself to root for the Yankees vs the Tigers who beat my A's. Really wanted another Bay Bridge World Series but w/o the quake!

Do the blond girls annoy anyone else?

Nickelpeed said...

It might me a non elimination.

The two blondes are being nasty. Geesh.

Jackie S. said...

Not as much as the twins, Becky ... but, yeah.

Nickelpeed said...

SueGee, I agree with you. I'll never forget watching that game. Unbelievable. I am from NY, but I don't know who I'm rooting for. My brother is a rabid Yankee fan.

I can vote for the Cardinals, though.

Nickelpeed said...

These girls are very rude. They are who gives new meaning to bad Americans.

Joe in NY said...

Is it over yet? LOL. I'm about 30 minutes behind...

Becky said...

And do you speak THEIR language, Blondie?

Nickelpeed said...

How nasty. Glad the girls lost. Very, very rude. No, your arguing is what lost you the race.

Becky said...

Good, they are gone, snort, snort. Maybe the twins will go next, Jackie.

I am gone. See you guys at Survivor.

Jackie S. said...

It's over now, Joe. Well, not for YOU. You've been Double U-Turned.

Nickelpeed said...

You are right, Becky. I can't believe she said what she did. She's in THEIR country. Why should they know English. Stupid girl.

Nickelpeed said...

Thank you, Jackie. Appreciate it. See everyone Wednesday, then next Sunday.

Uh, oh, another Ugly American. :-(

Jackie S. said...

Thanks for coming by!

Sharon N said...

Finally got a chance to watch tonight's episode.

Glad the blondes are out. They really got under my skin over nobody speaking English. Agree that it's that kind of attitude that gives Americans a bad name.

lynn1 said...

I know I am a day late but after seeing the blondes comment on the lack of English speakers, I had to share my little joke with all of you.
If you speak more than 3 languages you are multi-lingual.
If you speak two languages you are Bi-lingual.
If you speak one language you are an American.
I learned this when I lived in Europe.
While I never became fluent in any of the languages of the countries I lived in, I did make an effort to always try to communicate in the local language. Local people were usually surprised to find out I was an American.
