The Amazing Race: All-Stars - 'Smarter, not Harder' Blog Party

Again we're starting on time? They're spoiling us! As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news. However, as always, the real party is in the comments area. I hope to see you there!

The latest pool standings by that Magnificent Margo are:
Flight Time & Big Easy - Laurie, Donna in FL, nicklepeed
Jen & Caroline - Lynn1, Buzzmaam, DLA
Dave & Connor - Becky, Auntie Leigh, Rochelle
Margie & Luke - Donna in AL, Monty924, PDXGranny
Brendon & Rachel (Brenchal) - Terry in TX, Brian
Jessica & John - Sharon S, David, Rbennie
Cord & Jet (Cowboys) - ML, Nana in NW, Delee
Leo & Jamal (Afganimals) - Jackie, Jennamom, Merrilee

Philiminated --
Mark & Mallory - SueGee, jonMD1627, Margo
Joey & Meghan - Brenda, Zoetawny, Dusty

Let's get the party started!

They're staying in Malaysia at least for the start of the leg.

Roadblock -- Who's got a spring in their step? It entails jumping on a trampoline thingee supported by locals to pull down a clue.

Next they're off to Kuala Lampur with only three flights available. Dave/Connor are still maintaining their lead.

Margie tells us Luke came out to her as gay. Not a problem.

Uh-oh, the second flight is delayed and the third flight will get there before it. Dave/Connor, the Cowboys and the Afghanimals are on the first flight.

Detour: Mixmaster or Master Mix -- They have to learn how to DJ and show their scratching skillz. Or they have to mix a drinks into a pyramid of glasses.

Most of the teams go for the drinks part of the detour only to find out it's very difficult. The Cowboys have taken over the lead and are heading to the Pit Stop.

The Afghanimals and Dave/Connor are also heading there.

Pit Stop --
1. The Cowboys - Won a trip to London
2. Dave and Connor
3. Leo and Jamal

Luke is breaking down with frustration (deja vu) on the drink task. I don't see where switching tasks could help him as he can't hear. They HAVE to do this task. Brenchal is also stuck on the drink task.

4. Carline and Jennifer
5. Jessica and John

Rachel, of all people, pep-talked Luke/Margie and Brendan. It really helped Luke. He did it!

6. Flight Time and Big Easy
7. Luke and Margie
8. Brendan and Rachel -- but it's a non-Philimination leg!

I predicted that early on in comments, mind you. They will encounter a speed bump in the next leg.

Heck, Brenchal has improved and they're just about bearable this season.

Hi! I'm thinking a non-elim should be this week. Your thoughts?

Becky said...

Hey, Jackie, Lynn and all who arrive.

Hi Becky

Becky said...

Hey, Sue Gee. I was thinking the same thing, Jackie.

lynn1 said...

Jackie I think you are right

Since I am only 5 feet tall I would never be able to jump high enough

Nickelpeed said...

I really like Dave and Connor.

SueGee said...

I will be in and out of the room tonight...too much going on here LOL

Nickelpeed said...

Come on Cowboys!!!

Nickelpeed said...

That would absolutely kill my knees. Looks like fun, though.

Sharon S said...

I don't think I could do the "trampoline" at all. I'd fall down before I could jump!

Becky said...

Gidget is good, Penny. This is the first "real" home she has had. She spent six years in a kennel.

Nickelpeed said...

John has matured a lot, I don't know about her, though.

Becky said...

I love the cowboys and Dave and Connor. I have the father/son as my pool picks.

Nickelpeed said...

She needed a good home like yours, Becky. I bet she's in to everything, though. Beagles are nosy little things. LOL

Jackie S. said...

I think I'd wear sneakers on the bamboo trampoline. Were the others barefoot? I didn't notice.

SueGee said...

I wonder how long the Benchals will last this time... Most of the teams are pretty strong and it will be one bad cab ride difference

She is a BEAGLE going through puppyhood! I never realized how well behaved my girls were.

David said...

Hi all. =]

non-Elim. hmmmm, it is possible from the pre-views. I really hate the extended two week legs though.

Nickelpeed said...

Oh crap

Becky said...

The cousins are not as unlikeable as last time.

SueGee said...

On second thought, non-elim or to-be-continued (my favorite NOT)

Rachel is so dumb. a cocktail waitress and a bar tender are not similar

Way to go Cowboys

Nickelpeed said...

LOL. Becky. I guess when you are a show dog and in crates for most of your life, it's hard to be a puppy.

When we go to my MILs we have to put everything way back because between Sarah (beagle) and Kale (Australian Cattledog), they'll get it.

When Sarah was really young, my MIL made a chocolate pie. I told her to make sure she put it really far back on the table because Sarah would get it. They didn't think she would do it.

I went to the store, came back and saw something on her whiskers. I asked my husband if she went in to the dining room. Nope, she was here all the time. I looked at her whiskers again and said, I don't think so. Is that pie all the way back on the table? Yep, I pushed it back. Uhm...I don't think so, look at her whiskers, they have white on them.

We went in to the Dining room and sure enough. The pie was still up to the edge and she had licked everything she could get. The white meringue was on her whiskers.

I got a good laugh. They didn't listen to me. She got herself a treat!!! LOL

Yeah, Cowboys and Dad/Son are finally finished with the task.

Jackie S. said...

Hey, Joe

Becky said...

Hey, Joe.

Becky said...

Do the tasks seem harder to you this year?

SueGee said...

Hey Joe

SueGee said...

Becky - they are all All-Stars so I would hope they are harder

SueGee

SueGee said...

No Free Lunch as the saying goes (or does that date me?)

SueGee

Becky said...

I agree that it should be harder. But I think it harder than any previous All Star ones.

Nickelpeed said...

Wow, both look so hard. Uh oh, Luke is losing it. He's got to stop.

Becky said...

That boy is a mess!

Becky said...

I wouldn't be upset to see either of the last two go home. That guarantees it will be non-elim.

Joe in NY said...

I think Rachel and Maggie should team up

Nickelpeed said...

Wow, that is so darn hard. I do feel sorry for Brenchal. I can't believe I said that

As nice as Rachael was to Luke I am glad it was a nonelim.

I have to wonder at this point if the Globetrotters team is paying for the Trotters being on multiple seasons of TAR. It's getting ridiculous. They are TOO famous to be on TAR for even one season, let alone three. It just feels like they are on to advertise the Trotters, and what the hell do they need a million dollars for? I'm sure they are not uber rich, but they have good high profile jobs. Come on now.

They also are quitters, if anyone remember when they had to take a four hour penalty because one of them wasn't smart enough to finish a challenge and I think that got them Phileminated.

I hope I'm not the only TAR fan who hates the Trotters and cringes when they get on a season and roots for them to be eliminated ASAP.
