Big Brother 16: Live Feeds - BOB's over, waiting on PoV Friday night - August 16-17

A well-deserved smile

Welp, the Battle of the Block is over and they're just waiting on the PoV comp as I get this written up. Here's what's been happening inside that Big Brother House of Continuous Comps for Three Days and Boredom for Four:
  • If you recall, Donny and Christine were teamed together as Derrick's nominees; Caleb and Cody as Frankie's.
  • Christine was supposed to throw the BoB, Derrick remain the sole HoH.
  • Donny was the target. Or, if tides turned, dethroned Frankie or Christine's names were being tossed about a bit, too. Derrick promised Victoria safety.
  • So ... Christine did throw the comp.
  • No, she didn't just sit out like Caleb did last week.
  • She actually threw the comp.
  • Didn't matter.
  • Donny won it pretty much on his own.
  • I'm sure it helped that Caleb and Cody bungled about and did so poorly.
  • Doesn't matter.
  • Donny's safe for yet another week!
  • Derrick is dethroned, but I doubt he's in any danger of being nominated.
  • On the other hand, Victoria just might be in deep doo-doo.
  • Not only did Donny win, but he knows Derrick was masterminding his exit this week. Before the comp, he questioned the whole Skittles pick thing. After the BoB, at one point Derrick left the room after having a congratulatory talk with Donny and Donny just threw up a WTF kind of gesture as the door closed. He knows the score.
  • Caleb is sure that BB was somehow transmitting signals to Donny during the comp.
  • @@
  • It was one of those where they're in a dark scary place and have to find items -- in this case, bones.
  • They were all covered with blue dirt and such.
  • Derrick got dunked in orange goop upon dethronement.
  • Caleb and Zach were talking in the storage room. Caleb KNOWS Donny isn't what he says he is! No way could a janitor or groundskeeper be that slick! No way!
  • Although we know that Derrick's plan went hugely awry, the way he's handling things shows just how good he is at this stuff.
  • It's almost like it's seamless.
  • He doesn't want to draw attention to himself by fighting to save Victoria when the rest want to target her. That would do his own game no good even if his hope was to beat Victoria in the final two.
  • So, he has to break the news to Victoria that he has no control and that she just might go on the block and could get evicted.
  • Hey, it's not HIS fault! It's out of his hands!
  • She tells him that if she goes, she doesn't want to see him in jury and will vote for him to win.
  • Mission accomplished.
  • Speaking of missions, Team America is definitely on board with the latest one, but won't start on it until after the veto comp. They have until Wednesday to complete it.
  • Oh ... and speaking of Team America, both Frankie and Derrick are acting to Donny's face that it's fantastic that he won the BOB and they're thrilled he's staying.
  • He sees right through them, but remains pleasant and cordial AS IF he believes they're happy with the BOB outcome.
  • Derrick told Frankie that he thinks Donny hasn't been on board with the TA thing all along while they have.
  • He also told him that he's been wanting to work with Donny but doesn't think Donny has trusted him all along.
  • He's right.
  • If no one uses the veto and Caleb and Cody remain on the block, they think it will probably be Caleb going home.
  • In an unusual sense of timing, the veto players were picked -- Besides Frankie, Cody and Caleb -- Victoria, Donny and Christine. Derrick will host.
  • Thus starts the speculation about who would do what with the veto if they won.
  • @@
  • Victoria told Derrick she would probably keep the nominations the same so he wouldn't be in danger.
  • Aw, isn't that just so sweet ...!
  • They think something is up with the timing as the players are usually picked in the morning.
  • While they've been hoping for ZingBot, we know it's actually coming.
  • But, kind of like Santa Claus, it doesn't usually arrive until the good boys and girls are all snuggled in their beds.
  • That could be 10am with this all-night crowd!

Donny's no groundskeeper or janitor!

So, what's going to happen now?

Steal those stolen bunny slippers!

This stuff isn't good for my psoriasis.

Dethroned and orange

My future is now murky

I couldn't tell what Derrick was crying with Victoria about. Was he acting or was it real? Was he crying because he might lose his F2 patsy or because for the first time in this game he does not have total control and things did not go his way. He said it was game related so don't think it was about missing home.
He could be thinking he looks like a total ass outside the house and putting the clues together to think this rightly or wrongly. He noticed that there was no clapping when he won HOH. They claim they heard someone in production saying Go Donny! And clapping after he won.

BJ said...

I hope Victoria does go this week. That would mean it is almost certain Hayden or Nicole will re-enter the game.

Delee said...

That was good news this morning. Now Donny or Victoria "Must" win the POV. This hamster house needs a wrench thrown into it. I am so over Frankie and his I am so special. Get him out of the HOH room unless he is HOH. Beginning of season I thought I would like him, boy, I have been proven wrong.
Also why do they think Donny is something else and accept who Derrick says he is?????? Question of the season.

Delee said...

Anyone know why I am not seeing the pictures/icons in comment field? Thanks

I have no idea how to fix it!

Witt said...

The whole Donny paranoia thing is pure BB...."He must be something else!!" Or just Caleb's ignorance that festered into fact....he said weeks ago "That dude is military!" and they all believed it.

I feel so sorry for Donny watching him talk to Zach about how alone he is, and "What did I bring in this house that made everyone afraid of me?" :(

Sasha said...

I just find myself wondering...is Caleb really as "simple" (trying to use a less offensive word than what comes to mind) as he comes off? Aside from boastful beyond belief, is he really that clueless or is his mind just so clouded by his need for attention that he can't see past himself? Out of Caleb and Cody, I really don't care which one leaves although it would be nice to not have to hear Caleb anymore and have that scarf and bunny slippers go would be nice. OK, I just convinced myself--Caleb for the ouster! LOL
And Christine--get a clue, girl! I actually thought she was at least smart enough to know it's a bad idea to throw a comp at this stage of the game. And she's counting on being protected by the guys?! WAKE UP! Sorry, just had to yell a bit. As with most, I'm THRILLED that Donny won. And unlike Derrick, I really mean it. Have a great weekend, All.

Witt... I almost cried with Donny when he asked that with tears rolling down his face... Zack answers 'the beard'... really Zack? What Donny brought into the house was pureness... well most of the time. Even he has to make a negative comment once in a while. How he remains so 'nice' in that house boggles my mind. Love Donny and so wish he could win. He will definitely get my vote for favorite player.

Chacha said...

Victoria late last night, early this morning talked with derrick about using the POV on Cody..
The only thing I have going on in my head is that she can't possibly win this POV.
I hope frankie grows a pair and will NOT put up Zach.
Frankie keeps telling Zach he is safe but we all know Derricks Jedi mind tricks will change that depending on the outcome of POV.

Nick said...

BJ, I was thinking the same thing. I have kind of found myself liking Victoria lately...not as a BB player obviously, but as a person. But, if she is evicted, Nicole or Hayden would just about be guaranteed to get back into the house. Part of me thinks if it came down to Hayden and Nicole, he might throw it to her since she is a BB super fan and he isn't, although I think he was surprised how much he enjoyed playing the game. Either way, Hayden and Nicole both have Derrick figured out. Team them up with Donny and things could get interesting.

As for Derrick crying, it kind of seemed like he was upset that production might be trying to intervene against his majority alliance. Not sure how much of what Christine and Caleb were saying was actually true, but Christine was basically saying they wouldn't let her throw the BOB comp or sabotage Donny. It may also have been the fact that he feels America is against him and his alliance...plus the stress of something finally going against him!

Chacha said...

the big problem that is left in the house the following who think they have the others in "their back pocket"

Derrick has Cody/Victoria

Frankie has Zach/Caleb, and he thinks Christine.

I am not sure where Christine will land with this but she is safe for the week.
Donny has no one and is safe this week.
I am hoping that Hayden comes back in the house and targets Derrick. He needs to feel heat and sweat.

Chacha said...

Nick-
Every year we hear how production helps with comps/strategy.
I totally believe it happens.
Case in point, last year when Elissa was dead set to get Amanda out, then comes out of DR and wants to work with her.

Derricks trickery/strategy has now bubbled up and he actually could be a target...

Nick said...

Oh I totally agree production interference happens to some extent every season, from potentially leading comments to HGs in the DR to very obvious twists like the coup d'etat. I just think it hit Derrick hard when he realized he was on the wrong side of that interference. If Hayden or Nicole come back, Derrick's gameplay will really be put to the test.

patricia said...

sorry, looks like a Donny fan page and I am not a fan! glad however Cody is finally on the block - do think Derrick has played the best game. as far as Donny, c'mon he's slept thru most of it - while any game play has been going on & never formed an alliance, instead people were picked off. Calab could definitely tone down the boasting but sorry haters, I'm a fan! and I don't like Donny referring to him as stupid - he's not. I would love love to see Christine go but realize that of course can't happen this week - my pick
Victoria to finally leave.

Chacha said...

Nick- I am not so sure about Nicole unless Hayden or Jocasta giv eher anything new.
She has said post house interviews she would vote for Derrick in the end and that she believed Cody was the one she would evict if she came back in.
I am hoping that if for some reason Zach is the one who gets the renom, if that happens, he wins the HOH for evicted houseguests and attacks Derrick and cody

Nick said...

True. I don't think Nicole put the pieces together herself, but I think Hayden filled her in once she got to the jury house. I like everyone in the jury currently, but Jocasta wasn't much of a game player, so I really want Hayden or Nicole back. Hayden would probably be the most interesting since just about everyone has admitted he was honest and didn't deserve to be evicted. He could spoil Derrick's entire game and rally some people around him.

Chacha said...

Didn't Julie say that the HOH will be a single hoh and the BOTB is done after this current week?
Oh how I hope that its over and Donny wins HOH.
I personally think they should do BOTB one more week and have the person from jury back in the game be HOH and then another one from within the house be HOH. That would make for an interesting week.

Sharon N said...

Patricia, you are tight. Donny has gon to bed at night..when everyone else stayed up until 6am, or longer. However, staying up doesn't mattered for Donny since all the HGs are so scared of him.
They don't include him in any convos. Basically, they ignore him even when he TRIES to have even a simple conversation.
He is hurt to be treated so poorly...from Day 1, and rightly so!
Were that me, I'd feel the need to sleep at night too too!!
The days are lonely, but at least he doesn't have to tolerate the obvious negativity towards him and almost total segregation.

Sharon N said...

Please excuse all the sentence errors and/or typos. It's a challenge posting from my tablet!

Anonymous said...

After all the rigging for Frankie and having this entire season revolve around him, I sure hope Donny wins. They have all ignored him except Hayden and Nicole. When did they ever ask him to play pool or hang around with them and engage in conversation. I hope one of the remaining challenges asks questions about thier personal lives like they used to. No one would have a clue about anything to do with Donny. Derrick included. I just can't be a fan of his. His controling ways and fake concern is irritating. I dispise how he says he needs to feed his daughter. I hope Donny wins or Hayden comes back and wins.
Knowing Donny feels very left out and has even cried is sad.

Chacha said...

anon 12:18

the fact that production cheered for Donny yesterday has proven to Derrick he is in a "uh oh, i will be in trouble soon" mode.
Last night he was talking with Frankie trying to twist his words to make the watchers think he has always been for Donny when we the feeders know he hasn't.
Its not going to work and if he doesn't make the final two will not with Fan/America Favorite and he knows this.

Anonymous said...

I would love to see the plan backfire this week and either Caleb or Cody go home. I am so tired of everyone throwing competitions.

Chacha said...

I want Donny to win POV!! If Donny wins POV then the noms will stay the same.
If Frankie wins POV and pulls one nom down he will be in trouble with the other houseguests unless he puts up Zach. If he puts up Zach we all know Zach will start his talking and call them out again. If he is evicted and happens to come back in on the same night people will be pissed..

Chacha said...

Derrick already tried to mist Frankie by saying that putting up Victoria would be a wasted HOH. I hope frankie realizes why Derrick is doing this.
I hope he decides its better to keep Zach than Victoria.

Maybe Frankie will take a shot this week.

Anonymous said...

Is there ever going to be a time when everyone votes the same. This whole season is just weird.
I don't find anything unexpected that has been interesting to say the very least. Everyone votes the same, Derrick is just a cop that prays on everyone's emotions and its been the Frankie Show from the get go. Boring.
I hope Donny shocks them all and wins. He deserves it after spending the entire summer ALONE.

I MEAN NOT THE SAME.

I thought Derrick said he was in municipal Parks and Recreation.

monty924 said...

I like this new bond between Zach and Donny. Zach spilled a lot to Donny and if he keeps his mouth shut, I'll believe they are really working together.

Zach threw Cody, Christine and Frankie all under the bus but Cody and Christine the most. Donny's already poised to go after Christine if he gets the chance, but Cody would probably be a back up. This could work out in both Zach and Donny's favor depending on how the HOH shakes out on Thursday.

Anonymous said...

Thanks ChaCha and Silk, Cha Cha, Donny's the ground keeper, so I think Silk answer is probably right. Thanks for help

Lili said...

Here's hoping....

If noms stay the same Caleb will probably go. If Nicole or Hayden return as HOH then surely one of the remaining four guys will go, hopefully FJG. Ideally she will get Derrick and Frankie on the block, noms stay the same, fireworks ensue. And Donny gets a buddy to talk to and play Jenga with.

Regarding production yelling at Christine...to sit out a comp like Caleb is one thing. To actively hide pieces from Donny or attempt to hand them to the opposite team is an entirely different matter. Perhaps going forward BB should penalty nom any player who sabotages their own team members.

I really hope this is the one and only year with BoB, I just think it keeps the strongest players from getting nominated, and invites conspiracies and comp throwing.

Donny kinda of reminds me of Rachel, I mean that in a good way. Everyone was against her, her alliance was gone, she survived only because she kept winning comps, which is the hardest possible route to continued survival in BB. Donny is still in there because of Donny. Not because of his treacherous TA team members, not because of an alliance, not because of production. He may sleep a lot, but he is fierce in comps, and has won way more than Cody, Caleb, Zach, or Derrick. And he totally has Derrick's number....NO ONE ELSE IN THAT HOUSE DOES.

So if Donny gets to the end he deserves the win. I am sure if Derrick cuts coupons and shops sales he will be able to feed his family on his second place winnings. :)

Chacha said...

i left out the parks and Rec. I know he said he took care of the grounds and ordering and such

Chacha said...

In the end I don't think Donny sleeps as much or more than anyone else. He just goes to sleep at a normal time and wakes up at a normal time.
I will say though he has slept more in the past week but I do believe that has a lot to due with being in the HN room and not getting good sleep

David said...

As much as I would want the Noms to stay the same, if it is Caleb or Cody that is evicted they could have a real possibility of coming right back into the game instead of Hayden or Nichole. I think the HOH and returning player competition will be combined like last year and be an endurance competition.
So no matter who wins the Veto I would want one of them to come off the block and Victoria or Derrick go up instead and voted out. The last thing I want is for Caleb to be voted out and return the same day.

Anonymous said...

David, Good Point

In a perfect world at this point with the ones we have to choose from: Derrick is it and wouldn't be hilarious if he went out and did not come back. OMG. Love Love Love

Lili said...

I bet the returning HG/HOH comp will be the classic stand on a slanting board, in front of a wall, and have to catch something. Comps like that favor small, fit women like Nicole, not top heavy muscle guys like Caleb.

Nicole returning as HOH would be a thing of beauty. I think Nicole and all of us would cheer if she could get Frankie out.

Donny or Hayden for the win. Love seeing the two of them at the end and at least they would both get something and those other suckers would be out of luck. Wonder what PRODUCTION wants.

uncartie said...

I think Zach had a good point regarding Donnie's beard. It makes him appear different and adds a layer of mystery to his appearance. Then factor in the age difference, and the difference in interests, such as Donny's lack of social media knowledge and he becomes somewhat of an outcast.

I love Donny and frankly if he goes,I go with him. I also think that BB for some reason is requiring him to keep the beard. In the pictures we saw when he won a HOH there was no beard.

monty924 said...

The skittles plan was hilarious because they didn't plan their stories out in advance. Derrick told Donny, when Donny asked what his color was, 'yours was RED and Christine's was ORANGE'. Flash forward to Cody cooking in the kitchen and Donny asked how the drawing of the skittles came about and Cody said because they wanted it to be fair. Then Donny asked, "what color was my skittle?" and without missing a beat Cody said ORANGE.

Donny's reaction was priceless. 'Well that might be my new favorite color... nah, I like yellow. ORANGE makes me angry'! Grinning the entire time and Cody had no clue. :)))

Anonymous said...

Lili, if they do that challenge it would favor Frankie, he is the smallest person in the house. I think he is smaller than Amber.
He is super tiny.
I want HIM gone.

monty924 said...

Frankie can't play in the HOH this Thursday.

They've been locked down in the HOH bedroom for about 20 minutes. Could be ZB or they are getting the smaller table. I still think they will do the POV tonight when it's cooler.

Chacha said...

Monty924-
I am having a brain fart.
When the game resets Thursday as the BOTB will be over will everyone be allowed to play for HOH?

I can't remember for some reason

monty924 said...

I don't think it will reset, Chacha. I think it will be a straight up HOH and Frankie can't play because he's outgoing HOH. I'm thinking they will do it like last year. The four jurors will play like the rest of the HGs and the last one standing out of them will come back in the house (Judd). If that person is the last one standing out of all of them then they will be HOH. If not, they're still back in the house. At least that's how it worked last season.

Chacha said...

i couldn't remember if all played in HOH. I am hoping Frankie is not eligible to play

monty924 said...

Aaryn was the outgoing HOH that night and I don't think she played. I had to go back to Wikipedia to see who was the HOH when Helen was evicted. That was the night a juror could get back in.

monty924 said...

Yep... smaller table

monty924 said...

And, Christine and Victoria are Have Nots. Christine volunteered.

Anonymous said...

There is nothing positive to say regarding Frankie. Zero. With millions (he says) of his youtubers watching, I don't get a hint of anyone rooting for him.

Please production don't award this fool for his bad behavior.
He can't even cast a vote without acting a fool. And oh....Julie you look soooooo goooorgeous tonight! puke

uncartie said...

Monty, your recollection of last year's HOH when evicted HG's were allowed to play for HOH is the same as mine. I believe the comp was some sort of endurance like standing on a rolling log while being doused or otherwise harassed.

monty924 said...

Unc, it was the balls in the tube. Judd was the last juror left and Elissa won it.

Sharon N said...

Monty & Uncartie,
Wasn't that the comp where Elissa slipped and almost fell... grabbed a pole and got herself back up?
Amanda was having a fit because BB didn't DQ Elissa, but she had not touched the ground, so she was still ok.

Sharon N said...

I'm probably thinking of a different comp?

Sharon N said...

I wish BB would let Donny shave most of that beard off so he'd look more like he did in his pictures.
Maybe the "kids" wouldn't look at him as being so strange and start talking to him a bit more.
hah... probably too late for that though. :(

Anonymous said...

Seems like I remember Helen standing on a tight ledge and balls were being tossed at them and they had to fill a tube. Maybe I am wrong but I recall once again, (silly me) thinking they were being tossed a bit more straight to some more than others.

Nina said...

Sharon, I think that Donny said he was going to either trim his beard or shave it during the show. Am not sure if I heard this correct. I'd also like to see him with less hair.

Sharon N said...

Yup, I remember him saying that too Nina.
It would be nice for him to not have to look like a mountain man. LOL
And I do think Zack was right when he told Donny that it's the beard.

monty924 said...

Yes, Sharon that was the same comp. Elissa was like a monkey a couple of times on that one.

They hadn't started the comp when I left and I still had time to go out to dinner then the grocery store and still made it back before the POV was over. LOL

Chacha said...

Monty, Unc-

I went back and googled/wiki the HOH also.
Aaryn didn't play and was evicted on Elissa's HOH.
My internet went out before I could answer earlier.
Frankie is going to be upset he can't play. He is built for that comp.
I think if it is a comp somewhat the same Nicole has a great chance.

Waiting for this POV to be over with. THree hours and counting.
