Survivor: Kaoh Rong - April 20 Blog Party

Survivor fans ready? As the show airs, I'll update this entry with the major happenings -- refresh the page to get the latest news! As always, the real party is in the comments area. Please join us there. We like snacks. And beverages. Don't forget the beverages!

The promos are promising us another blindside. Who woulda thunk it?

Lifeguard Laurie has been keeping up with the pool --

Aubry Braco - Jennasmom, Glenn
Cydney Gillon - Leo Lionharted, PDX Granny
Joseph Del Campo - Grandi, Petals
Julia Sokolowski - Indiana Jane, Nickelpeed
Kyle Jason - Nana in the NW, Sharon N.
Michele Fitzgerald - Brian TCC, Kelsey NY
Scot Pollard - Delee, Pinky
Tai Trang - Margo, anonymouse

Jury
Neal Gottlieb (when the infection is gone) - Merrilee, JoyzJenn
Nick Maiorano - Laurie, ML
Debbie Wanner - meb, Rbennie

Let's get this show going!

Scot, Tai and Jason are happy dudes -- they're all safe, Debbie is out and they still have the idols. Scot wants to work with Aubry and get rid of Cydney. Aubry isn't really buying into it even though she's acting receptive to him.

Reward Challenge time. Balance ceramic pots on a balance beam with one foot. They can choose to play for a bacon cheeseburger, fries and beer or a letter from a loved one or they can play for an advantage. They're only competing against the people playing for the same reward.

Advantage - Tai, Cydney and Aubry
Food - Scot, Jason, Michele
Letter - Julia, Joe

Julia wins the love letters from home.
Michele wins food.
Tai wins the advantage.

Tai's advantage is that he won an extra vote (up until five people are left).

Julia wants to target Tai to bring out the idols. Uh-oh. They figure the guys will vote for Cydney. Aubry is a bit suspicious of both Julia and Michele. The plot thickens.

Hmm ... Tai and Aubry are going to work together! Spiffy! She's definitely more his type than the bullyish dudes. She told him she's willing to work with the guys. Tai tells the guys and Scot/Jason think Aubry should be out next. They're making Tai feel even more of an outsider.

Immunity Challenge time! Stretch arms out to touch disks holding up ceramic pots with fingertips. (I wonder if all these pots are symbolic of 420?)

Joe out. Scot out. Julia out. Tai out. Michele out. Cydney out. After a tremendous effort, Aubry loses out and Jason wins Immunity. (Grr.)

Scot and Jason are sure that it will be Aubry going home. Of course, they do have a super idol. Scot and Jason convince Julie that they need to get rid of Tai anyway. Cydney and Aubry are thinking of blindsiding Scot. Aubry tries to convince Tai. Hmm.

Tribal Council time. Huh. Scot tells Jeff that they're not going anywhere. Tai just looks uncomfortable. Jason is being super-smug. Gah. We know he can't go!

The tally ... Tai is getting conflicted play it/don't play it. He doesn't.

Tai, Aubry, Scot, Tai, Aubry, Scot, Scot, Scot.

WHOA, NELLIE! Tai won't match up his idol and save Scot! Scot is GONE!

Epic! Legendary! I once again love that Tai guy!

Hey, Jackie! How are you?

Becky said...

Hey, SueG

~*~*~*~*~*~ SPLASH ~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hey Jackie, Vincent & Everyone!

I have lemon bars, fresh blueberries and pink champagne spritzers!

Petals said...

Nom Nom - Brats!

Nickelpeed said...

Hi Jackie, Becky, SueGee and Petals! Thank you for hosting us, Jackie. Greatly appreciate it. I have Moscato.

monty924 said...

Hi eveyone... food sounds yummy and don't worry about the mess. I now have electric to the entire kitchen and a new dishwasher (that was the culprit). CHEERS!!

Pinky said...

Hi everyone. Scot is my pool pick, but I'd be happy to see him voted off tonight.

SueGee said...

Oh no, another blindside?? This group does not seem to have real brains at all!!

Petals said...

Damn, Tai. I loved you until you bully-buddied...

Joe in NY said...

Hi gang

Why do I think the two bullies are going to be even more insufferable this week?

Becky said...

Hello, Petals!

monty924 said...

This champagne spritzer is just what I needed. YUM

Petals said...

I agree, Pinky. I'd love to see Scot or Jason go "buh-BYE"!

(Monty - YAY!)

Petals said...

Scot is dreaming to think he is the next Russell Hanz...

Nickelpeed said...

Jason and Scot are so friggin' arrogant. If I were the women, I'd still vote together and not let the men know.

They're not showing their big boy side, it's their way or no way.

Petals said...

Hi Becky! Hey BFJoeinNY!

monty924 said...

I wonder if the commercials hinting at another blindside will pan out or not... hope so

Petals said...

Hey Penny! Hey SueG!

Nickelpeed said...

These men have to be blindsided some way.

SueGee said...

Yummy spritzers!! Nice going Monty. One day I know I will have a dishwasher....we have such a small kitchen but we are going to remodel it sooner than later!!! (I think if my husband had to cook and do all the dishes it would have already happened)

Petals said...

if 'blindside' means getting rid of Scut Farkus or Grover Dill, then YES, I hope so.

Jackie S. said...

Hey, all. I have some Coney Island Brewing Company hard root beer and a big bag of Bugles.

Nickelpeed said...

Hi Monty. Hi Joe, Hi Pinky!

Pinky said...

I hope the girls get Tai to flip. He doesn't fit in with the bullies.

monty924 said...

Sounds great, Jackie.

SueGee said...

I want a review of that hard root beer...would it make a good root beer float?? LOL

Nickelpeed said...

I love those names, Petals. LOL

Petals said...

Bugles!!!! :)

Becky said...

Hello, Penny, Monty, Pinky and Joe. I am with you, Petals. I was really pulling for Tai. Those bullies will use him up and then throw him out.

How is everones weather? Joe, how much school left until you get to the end of the year?

Petals said...

Penny, it's true! Jason is Scot's 'evil little toady'. LOL

David said...

Hello everyone. =)

If it is indeed a blindside, I think Scott, Jason, or Tai are only ones at this point who could be blind-sided. I do hope it is Scott or Jason booted.

Petals said...

Weather in KCMO is 70s daytime, 50s at night. Typical Missouri Spring.

Petals said...

Hey David!

Joe in NY said...

Interesting twist

Ed in Ohio said...

Hi everybody! WOW I'm playing catch up already!! ^

monty924 said...

Neat twist on the reward challenge

Nickelpeed said...

Advantage, if a few are smart. Geesh, of course Scot and Jason would choose food.

Nickelpeed said...

Why does Tai need an advantage?

monty924 said...

Hey there, homie

Petals said...

This is a different challenge...

Petals said...

Grover Dill will be out early; he is a couch potato.

Joe in NY said...

Hi Becky,

We have 4 weeks and then a week of Finals.

Hi David,

I don't think only the boys could be blindsided. The girls think they are running the game. I think anybody left could be blindsided.

monty924 said...

Sasquatch out

Nickelpeed said...

I hope Michelle gets the food. And, I hope anyone but Tai wins the Advantage.

SueGee said...

We have had 80's all week here in the Bay Area, but may cool a bit with some rain tomorrow. (Bring it on 'cause we still need water)

Ed in Ohio said...

Back @ ya hommie! Glad to hear you got you kitchen up & running!!

Petals said...

there goes Scut ! Michelle has this in the bag!

Nickelpeed said...

Yes! Michelle! LOL

monty924 said...

Still rooting for Tai, but I'm liking Julia too

Petals said...

Hi Ed!

(LOL - told ya.)

Joe in NY said...

Tai and Sydney going at it again with balance a key issue. I still wish they'd team up. They'd be an interesting mismatched pair.

Petals said...

Monty, I agree. I have to love me some gutsy young Julia

Nickelpeed said...

Glad the kitchen is back up, Monty.

Ed in Ohio said...

Hi Petals! Weather is about the same here......'bout time!!

Nickelpeed said...

Did you see the look on Scot's face when Cydnee went out?

monty924 said...

Yay for Tai

Petals said...

go Aubrey!

David said...

LOL, Glad the boys did not win the food.

Petals said...

I'm still mad at Tai from last week...

Joe in NY said...

I think it's funny that he calls Sydney petty. Didn't he used to be aligned with her until she pissed him off and he won't forgive her?

Nickelpeed said...

Darn. Tai didn't need the advantage. Dang it.

Joe, the girls do not think they are running the game. The men do. They think by telling the women of the idols, they have the upper hand. The men are arrogant.

Petals said...

I'm thinking that Scut Farkus has blown thru any NBA money he earned and is NOT at all doing well in 'real life'. Which makes me happy. nyah nyah, you a-hole bully!

Nickelpeed said...

Me, too Petals. I liked Tai until he went totally against his original tribe. He's with the guys and when he watered out the fire, it angered me. Very petty and high schoolish.

monty924 said...

Penny, to be honest... I missed the disposal more than the dishwasher but they're on the same circuit. I was giddy when I got to run the disposal tonight, LOL

Joe in NY said...

Oh, Petals. If you thought Tai were hot, you'd forgive him anything. LOL.

I think Tai's in a tough spot. He ended up with the boys and they are the only ones he can be sure to trust at this point. You can't really blame him, especially given the fact that they were trying to put together a "girls' alliance". The idiot is Joe who is aligned with the girls in a "girls' alliance". I assume he self-identifies as a woman?

Petals said...

right? It was sooo ... un-Tai-like, you know? Like the nerd trying to impress the
jocks by shoving a girl around or something.

monty924 said...

Cool advantage

Nickelpeed said...

Ooops, sorry Joe, It was Becky who said that. Yes, Becky, the girls think the men are running the show, but they could surprise them. They have to bring out their idols first in order to join them. If they do not think they would use it, it could work.

HOWEVER, now the extra vote put a monkey wrench in everything. Dang. How lucky for Tai.

Becky said...

I could to a snake on my shoulder, but not a bird! Crazy, huh. I have been afraid of them since I was a kid. I like to see them from a distance, but up close, forget it.

Petals said...

HAHA Joe, you know me too well. Probably yes, I'd find an excuse for a cute boy to be acting like a jerk. And Tai is cute, in a way. But I'm still mad at him. But I still like him for his individuality and love of animals.
And he is the underdog. I love an underdog.

Joe in NY said...

Not for nothing, but "the people who you are playing for" doesn't exactly resonate the same with an 18 year old. When you are playing for spouses and children, it's not the same as playing for family pride when you are the dependent.

Nickelpeed said...

Julia's my pool girl. I just hope she plays smart. Not with Tai, Scot and Jason, Julia. Don't take Cydnee out. Stay loyal to her.

SueGee said...

It's 420 - a holiday in San Francisco & Berkeley. I brought some brownies for dessert!! Anyone got some ice cream??

Petals said...

Grrrr...Scut & Grover watching Tai work, scratching their butts. Lazy jerks.

Joe in NY said...

How can the girls think it was dumb to show the idols? It was the only way the boys could guarantee that the girls respected the boys power and stayed away from them. And not only did the boys survive, they kept the idols in the process. Sore loser talk if they claim it was dumb. Much as I dislike Scott and Jason, they played that tribal council brilliantly. IMHO

Nickelpeed said...

You are so right Joe. It's just not the same.

Petals said...

Sue - check the minifridge. In the freezer section there may be some leftover homemade strawberry ice cream.

Ed in Ohio said...

Aubrey's done a 180 with Julia!

Joe in NY said...

Disagree Nickel. The girls feel like they have numbers and were even willing to sacrifice one of their own to prevent a problem later because they could "take care of the boys later". And, up through last week, the girls and Joe were running the show. They still sort of have numbers, but the Idols even the score.

Nickelpeed said...

Yes, they did. They played well at the tribal council. These women need to stay targeting the men, little buy little or they'll be picked off one at a time. I hope it's not Cydnee tonight. They need to talk to her.

monty924 said...

I'll take mine non-spiked, SueGee **wink**

I don't have a problem with the way Tai is playing. He's in a hard spot against these women. The super idol gives the men an advantage because they can play it after the votes are read instead of before. As long as the girls don't find out what the advantage is, I say one of them go to Ponderosa tonight. Hoping it isn't Julia.

Speaking of Ponderosa, the guys want to vote Debbie off their island, LOL

David said...

You didn't get carried away by a bird did you Becky to make you afraid of them did you? Oh wait, that was on Big Brother. =)

Ed in Ohio said...

Joe Del Campo is kinda flyin' under the radar

Nickelpeed said...

I think it is going to be one of the women, too. However, don't they have to use the idols and bring them out before they can use it as a super idol? It has to be together first, right?

Becky said...

Tai slipped a little further down my list.

monty924 said...

Yes, they have to use them together.

SueGee said...

The super idol can only save one person - so they have to plan this carefully. Someone may have to be sacrificed to get the super idol off the table or the rest of the game.

Nickelpeed said...

Sure the idols give the men leverage. But they never thought the women were smart enough to stay together as a team. They brought out the idols to play with the women's minds and force them to get rid of one of their own. Thing is, if they had gone after one of the guys, the super idol would have save them. The women panicked and put up Debbie.

Ed in Ohio said...

Scot's gotta have the biggest wing span

monty924 said...

Joe doesn't stand a chance this season. Probably a reason to keep him around.

Petals said...

Joe is my pool guy, another underdog. He's not been a stand-out player.

SueGee said...

If someone uses their idol on themself, the super idol would be gone too. Only two idols in play now right?

Petals said...

I knew it! Scut & Grover are such lazy bums...

monty924 said...

Yes, SueGee!!

Petals said...

can't believe Grover has lasted. GO Cydney!

Ed in Ohio said...

Aubrey needs it

Petals said...

noooooooo

monty924 said...

That was funny out of Aubrey

Pinky said...

Go Aubrey!!!!!

Becky said...

For Scott to be such a big bruiser he is not worth a darn in challenges.

Nickelpeed said...

Darn, not Cydnee!

I hate that smirk on Jason. So, so arrogant. You tell them Aubry

Petals said...

yeeeeekssss

Joe in NY said...

LOL, Monty. There's a surprise. Debbie annoyed the jury? LOL. Without anything to play for, there's probably no reason for the jury to suck it up and tolerate her.

Nickelpeed said...

SHUT UP JEFF!

Joe in NY said...

I kind of want Jason to win this just to see what they do with Aubrey. If she wins, you know they'll just go after Cydnee

monty924 said...

Ut oh, for Aubrey

Nickelpeed said...

DANG IT!!!!!!!

Petals said...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

SueGee said...

Got to go watch me some Ponderosa later LOL

Joe in NY said...

That was a tough challenge for the well-muscled.

Ed in Ohio said...

Boyz keep on keepin' on!

Nickelpeed said...

Aubrey could be gone.

monty924 said...

Ed, the Ponderosa video after Debbie showed up is so worth the watch! LOL

Petals said...

Scut & Grover want Cydney gone, because she's a physical threat.

Ed in Ohio said...

Monty I've never watched a Ponderosa, maybe it's time to check it out?!

Joe in NY said...

This could be interesting if they realign. The thing is, there's really no reason for Tai to break with the guys until the Super Idol is out of play. He's in a weaker position if he turns on them because he would be at the bottom of the other alliance and would have his idol neutered in the process.

Nickelpeed said...

See, Joe, they keep saying that every time. The guys think they are safe, they do not think anyone can touch them. Maybe it's time for someone to bite the bullet and take a hit for the team, just to get them to use the super idol and get it out of the game completely.

Pinky said...

Ponderosa is a must see. Debbie is a strange person. Watching her juggle was hilarious.

monty924 said...

The first two are sort of boring, Ed. Debbie's is a hoot!

Joe in NY said...

The boys really need a 4th, at least temporarily. 3 is okay in the long run, but they can only wave that idol around a little bit before they have to play it. Once they do, they are back in the minority if they don't find an ally.

Nickelpeed said...

Very true, Joe. I still think the women need to call their bluff to get the idols completely out of the game. One of them will have to leave, but at least the idols will be gone.

Ed in Ohio said...

I wasn't a big fan of Debbie but I guess I'll check it out.....curious now!

Joe in NY said...

Nickel, I agree the boys are cocky. But so were the girls.

monty924 said...

Ed, it's even better when you aren't a fan of Debbie. :)))

Nickelpeed said...

Julia actually believes them? How stupid.

Ed in Ohio said...

Monty LOL!^

monty924 said...

The talk back at camp is all over the place. Who knows what the vote will be??

Petals said...

Ick. Scut's profile is sooooo Cro-Mag! blech

Joe in NY said...

They are probably telling Julia the truth. Who wants to sit opposite Tai at the end?

Ed in Ohio said...

Tai doesn't have the tatoos to hang with those other two!

Nickelpeed said...

Yeah, but, the men acted like little babies when Nick was voted out. So to get back at the girls, they hid the weapons and put the fire out. Really? Little babies. They still think they own the game. They know the girls play dumb. And, they'll play dumb for this.

See, Tai is afraid of the guys. The guys are bullies.

Petals said...

lol Ed!

Joe in NY said...

Tai's in an awful position. If he wants to win the game, he should stay with the boys. If he wants to win Life, he should jump ship. LOL

Petals said...

LOVE that chicken is still surviving

Joe in NY said...

I'm not defending the guys, Nickel. That was the most juvenile display in Survivor history.

Nickelpeed said...

I feel bad for Tai. The other guys are just using him. They are such huge bullies.

But, I think one of the women will go home. The women need to flush out those idols.

Becky said...

Poor Tai, once he is gone the chicken is dead meat.

monty924 said...

Agree, Joe. Tai has a good soul, but that doesn't get you anywhere in Survivor.

Ed in Ohio said...

Cocky much??!!

David said...

Since Tai has half the super idol, if he votes to get rid of Scott and not use his half of the idol, Scott is gone. Oh please let it happen.

Petals said...

Cydnee looks like Apollo Creed sitting there, with her muscles glowing...

Nickelpeed said...

I hate that arrogance. Angers me.

Petals said...

Yes, David!

Nickelpeed said...

Cydnee is such a beautiful woman, too. She got tired of the men, I hope she doesn't go home.

monty924 said...

Michele is the quiet player... she could be there in the end

Nickelpeed said...

Cocky, cocky, cocky. Hate that.

Petals said...

@@ Jason - you're an ugly little toady. A tattooed troll.

Joe in NY said...

Debbie is having a hard time not talking on jury. LMAO

monty924 said...

If Tai does that, he's an even bigger target.

Nickelpeed said...

It won't happen, though, David. It'll be one of the women.

Joe in NY said...

Tai should have played his half anyway, just in case

Nickelpeed said...

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO

Ed in Ohio said...

Came back to bite ya' big boy!!

Joe in NY said...

Tai might have ended his game there.

monty924 said...

Oh, man. Tai!!! He would have been tied with Aubrey and it would have went to another vote. Not sue he made the right choice there.

Nickelpeed said...

I can't believe that~ WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW

Petals said...

AUUUGGHHHHH!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

***happy dance***

Loving Tai!!

hahahahhahhh

Pinky said...

Wow. Awesome! Jason's ship just sunk.

Becky said...

No loss! The only thing is that he is strong. But also too cocky and lazy to use it.

Jackie, Thank you for hosting. We all really appreciate it.

Nickelpeed said...

Man, I think he'll be in trouble from now on. Scot went home with the idol, too. WOW.

SueGee said...

I wonder how Bully boy will behave back at camp when he is a pity party of one??

Joe in NY said...

Tai really needs to play his idol next time if he doesn't win immunity. That gets him to final 6. Then he has an extra vote which maybe gets him to final 5. But then he's going to have to win his way there, because I doubt anyone's going to want to sit next to him at the end. Kind of sucks. Tai is about the only person out there I really like. I think Cydnee's hot, LOL, but that's not the same thing as liking her personally.

Petals said...

LOL Sue!

Ed in Ohio said...

Jayson gonna' have to 'scramble' now!

Joe in NY said...

Does Scott have the idol or Jason does?

Nickelpeed said...

Thank you for hosting us Jackie. Will see those who watch TAR, here Friday night.

Won't be here next Wednesday. I work next week for both Survivor and TAR.

Thank you again, Jackie.

Petals said...

Awesome. Loving it! WOOHOOOOO

*whew*

Thank you, Jackie. Best party of the season so far!

Goodnight friends. xoxoxoxoxox

Ed in Ohio said...

The Player got played!

Pinky said...

If tai had given his idol to scot, there would have been another vote and he would have been voted out. He did the right thing.

Ed in Ohio said...

G'Nite! Have a Good One!

Thanks Jackie!

monty924 said...

Ponderosa will be even more fun now, LOL.

Thanks Jackie and everyone. See you all on Friday if I can remember it this week. Have a great rest of the week.

SueGee said...

It was the brownies LOL

See you Friday!!

Jackie S. said...

Thanks for coming by!

Joe in NY said...

There's other ways Tai could have played that. Not sure that was the best way. He could have played his idol for himself. Thrown his vote away. Scott still goes home but Tai looks loyal. I don't know. Such a tough spot for the little guy.

I really hope a floater doesn't end up winning this because the jury is filled with bitterness against all the big players in the game.

monty924 said...

THe best thing for Tai and Scott to have done would be to play their idols individually and then Aubrey would have went home. They didn't have the benefit of hindsight though. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out now.

Nite again :))

Anonymous said...

Did anyone do the math? Had Tai voted for Aubrey like he was supposed to, Aubrey would have had three votes. She only had two. He planned it all along. Hello?

Anonymous said...

TAI VOTED FOR SCOT!!!! WOO HOO!

IAgirlsmom said...

Hello - not sure if anyone is still checking this thread since it's not like BB with daily updates. I'm new to Survivor this year. I read some of Scot's exit interview and only just now occurs to me that this season was pre-taped/filmed. I don't think his interview was though....anyway, I googled it and looks like the season was taped in the spring of 2015. So - 2 questions. Is someone already the winner? Or do they eventually do that live? And secondly, certainly they can't keep people sequestered that whole time, so....they play til the final 2 or 3 and then those people wait a year to find out who wins? I'm so confused... seems like a lot of things could happen during that waiting period to vote the winner, but also a long time to be the winner and not be able to tell. Would sure appreciate any insight. Google results are taking me in circles. Thanks bunches if someone has the time to explain.

Jackie S. said...

This season was filmed out of order. However, the winner will be live. I don't know why they did it that way. It's a first for the show.
