BB19: Live Feeds Power of Veto Update - August 5

After many more hours of blocked feeds, they've returned. And, we have a new Power of Veto winner.

It's Mark.

Christmas wants Josh to convince Mark not to use it and promise they'll keep him safe and vote out Jessica. To her thinking, it would serve two purposes -- it would separate Mark from under Cody's will and show Mark they trust him.

Problems: Josh actually wants Elena out and Mark is super paranoid. I personally can't see him not saving himself. We'll see.

I agree, Jackie. I think it will come down to Jessica vs. Elena this week no matter who the pawn is on that side of the house. Christmas already volunteered and they'll keep her around for the numbers because she can't play in that many comps. I LOVE BB!!! :))))

Bringing this over from the other blog post:

Wouldn't it be funny if Mark agreed not to use it on himself.
And then used it to save Elena... because she has nothing ya'know.
Oh, and he's in loooove.

.... funny for everyone but Jessica.

Joe, answer from last post carried over. Christmas does NOT like Cody at all, says he's the only one who has told lies about her in the game. I don't know what it is all about, but she doesn't want BOTH of them in the jury together. My guess is she thinks that there is no way she would ever get their votes.

Elena is a red herring. There is nothing Jessica could promise to Paul that will make him prefer an Elena ouster. And no one has yet shown any willingness to break out of the 8-1/2. When Paul and whatever 3 he chooses for his Final Four alliance start picking off the other Bullies, do you think any of them will wonder if they should have played differently?

Monty, I get that. But it is moronic. [On her part, not yours.] She's playing as part of a giant group of 8 and is NOT the leader. She's playing for jury the way she's playing. Yet her first big move is to try and change the jury vote when Christmas miraculously lands in the Final Two? It was the only advantage Christmas had in the game. Why not use it when you need it to help YOU get TO the Final Two?

Joe in NY,Joe in NY,Was the HG that didn't use the Veto you were thinking of,Marcellus?

Joe,Re:Christmas There are plans in the house bubbling under the surface. it's just that getting ris of Jody has taken center stage. Once they're gone, oir at least one of them I think things will start popping.

Yes, Marcellus... Thanks, Artie

Petals and uncartie, looks like the theme of the comp may have even been Ozark'ish, lol.

Yeah, I agree with you to a point Joe. It's Christmas' thinking and not mine but I understand her wanting one of JODY out one way or another and if it's before jury it's even better. I have no idea what's in her head other than what she says on the feeds.

There's been a few bone headed moves in BB, but Marcellus not using the veto has to be up there at or near the top. Dustin agreeing to be a pawn when Evel Dick was on the block was another one but Dustin didn't know about America's Player. I think the biggest stupid move was Lawan (sp) telling everyone to evict him so he "could" get the special power that he thought he would get, lol.

I know Paul has an alliance with Alex, but I really don't see him taking her to F2.
It's much more likely, he'd take someone who hasn't done much (or couldn't) to try and guarantee the win this time.

There will always be bitter jurors, just like last year. Assuming he actually reaches the end again: maybe he's assuming it wouldn't happen again? LOL

I'm just sad. Disappointed, sad, angry.

Unc (9:57), I totally agree. This next week starts the real game of Big Brother. Lot's of things stirring around in there.

Monty,How do we know that Marcellus not using the veto was the all-time boneheaded move on BB?

I was able to remember it! I usually don't remember anything.

Lol, uncartie! It's BB lore... if you follow the game as we do, you know that Marcellus messed up. In his defense, he could only use it on himself and nobody else like we have now. Trivia: It was just the power of veto (and it was silver) that season (S3). The golden power didn't come into play until the next season, where you could use it on someone else and not just yourself. There was one guy (honestly didn't watch much of S4) who did something stupid with it and Allison ended up in the final two with Jun. The best play on the veto comp though has to be when Nakomis invented the best plan ever. The six-finger plan. Totally overused now and not really what she pulled off, but still the birth of the backdoor plan. :)))

I'm with you Petals!

Finally Josh was someone from Paul's minions trying to be his own HOH player (not Paul's dog)... Problem being he trusted Christmas to work with him. It would have been such a great wake up call for Paul. Oh my word someone was actually saying "No Paul, I want to play my game... not yours!"

I was a little impressed for almost 24 hours that Josh was actually going to play his own game. It actually didn't matter for what reason! I would laugh if Mark took himself down and Josh had the courage to go for the huge power play and backdoored Paul. I really think they would all jump at the chance to make a huge move and vote him out! Now.... that would be the total smart move! Tahhhh Dahhhhh

Jason just accurately quoted Forest Gump so I officially love him.

T-Town Chick said...

Judi Sweeney I was thinking about that this morning. How classic would that be to backdoor Paul at this point in the game. It would go down as one of the Top 5 best moves.

monty924 said...

Judi, that totally reminds me of the MC Hammer 3M commercial. Tahhhh Dahhhhh

monty924 said...

The backdoor only works if you have the votes to do it. Right now, that side of the house isn't even considering voting Paul out (for now). It's a great plan to folks out here, but it isn't on the radar in there and the side he's working with is in power. js

BBBBuuuutttt Monty, it's always fun to play the what if's. lol I say if Mark feels spurned by Elena and is bitter, he should use the POV on Jessica thus making the whole house mad and putting the knife in Pauls plans. Now that would cause some serious chaos in the house, which is what we want to see. =)

monty924 said...

Lol, true David, I just don't see any of these dolts doing anything that risky or coming up with something that big in the game. Josh has actually done a lot so far to start a huge crack on the Paul front, but I just don't see them pulling off a backdoor of Paul this week at least. Josh is very clear that his target is Elena. I don't see him moving from that. If Mark is dumb enough to take her off, then it could be open season on Mark or back to Jessica. Who knows???

monty924 said...

*sorry, lol. There's no way he will take Jessica down :)))

Sharon N said...

Ha!! Monty, you must be channeling Mark!
Poor love sick guy has offered to use the Veto on Elena! Geez, even if he doesn't actually do it, a whole new brand of stupid was born just by suggesting it.

Couldn't say it any better Joe

Monty, Monty, Monty.... In the last couple of days, there have been certain couples (Josh & Christmas); (Raven & Matt); (Jason & Kevin) who have jokingly commented about putting Paul up... Now it was brushed over in a sly joking matter and then laughed about and then the subject changed.... it was like they were testing the water... fishing for a response and then moved on fast not wanting to be caught and someone run to Paul.

Nickelpeed said...

If Mark pulls an Erik (from Survivor), he deserves to be voted out. And, yep, just like Marcellas. If Mark believes he will be safe, he's as dumb as he looks! LOL

Joe, I have to agree with you. So far, every one of them are playing for the jury. They haven't proven otherwise. When Paul has to answer everyone's questions, he can tell them that he was the puppet master; and it will be true.

I really hate the idea that Jess will be voted out. I'd like to see Jody make it to the end. Of course, they won't, so I'd like them both to be on the jury. Paul is afraid both of them together will convince the others he was using every one. It would be true, but, they won't notice it until it's too late. Plus, many of them will not be able to handle a Jody kissing all the time in the house. However, I hope all of them remember, THEY were the ones to pushed Jody closer. They all ganged up on Jody, so it pushed them together even more.

Josh had me loving him for awhile. But, only awhile. LOL
