Heroes ... Tonight's Show Live-Blogged

Yes, it's Monday and it's Heroes time! As the show airs, I'll be updating this post as much as I can. Please feel free to join in down in the comments!

It's creeping me out that Mrs. Petrelli is cuddling her adopted son, Sylar. She calls in Bridgette who can see everything an object has ever touched. Dhe's going to "feed" Sylar.

Jessica/Tracy/Whoever finds that she can burn through a rose stem with her finger. Nathan approaches the fake Peter (future) and demands to see his real brother. He got a message saying that Peter broke out of Level Five..

Meanwhile Peter and Marlo (oops, wrong show - he played Marlo on The Wire) are doing a bank robbery?

Back at Primatech -- HRG returns only to get scolded by Mrs. Petrelli. He says he wants to get all the escapees. She introduces him to his new partner ... Sylar.

Back at the Bennet's house -- Claire's mother is there to protect them, but she isn't allowed to smoke in the house. Claire has decided that she's going to leave school. She thinks she should be out there helping her father fight the criminals. Her biological mother insists she goes to school.

Primatech -- Noah is reluctant to work with Sylar. Mrs. P. says Gabriel has just been misunderstood.

Ando and Hiro - Still going after the speed girl Daphne. He wants his formula back. She's already sold his father's half. She called Hiro Pikachu. Heehee. Uh-oh she's slow. Hiro's powers aren't working either. Ah, it's because the Haitian is there!

Claire tells her bio mother about how she wants to fight the bad guys. She's hoping that her mother can teach her how to fight.

Nathan -- meets up with Tracy/Niki ... whoever. She has the video of the sex with Nathan, yet she insists she's not her. Nathan isn't all that convinced.

Back to the bank -- Police are arriving Yikes, ex-Marlo (didn't get his hero name), has a plan. He called the police, ripped the heart out of one of the robbers who threatened him, and wants the cops to get Noah there.

Parkman is still walking the desert. The man with him painted a painting which told him everything he knows about Parkman. He painted it when he was a boy.

Oh, Sylar has a suit on. He questions if she's his real mother. She says he was born with powers which made him the way he is. They get the report on the bank robbery in Poughkeepsie. Mrs. P tells Nathan that Peter's in the body of Jesse.

Ando and Hiro -- In a movie theater. The fast girl is there. She told Ando he's Robin to Hiro's Batman. They're upset that Daphne is looking for the formula for money.

Back to the desert and more paintings ... Parkman's entire life. The future has changed and Parkman with the baby painting is no longer. Sure enough, the guy has Isaac eyes when he paints!

In the bank -- "Peter" says he doesn't want to go back. The ex-Marlo realizes he's not Jesse and flings him across the room.

Sylar and Noah -- Noah tells Sylar that she's playing them. Noah tells him that they're not partners, he's in charge. But Sylar goes forward into some kind of FBI guy persona and wins his heart. Well, maybe not his heart.

Peter tells the other robbers he was put in the body against his will. They beat him.

Noah is donning a vest to go in the bank. Sylar is actually acting human. Noah doesn't want him going in the bank to "use that buffet" in there -- the powers.

Hmm ... Tracy (?) is at a casket with pictures of Micah/Niki and Niki in the coffin. New Orleans. Micah realizes she's not his mother. He asks her if she's special and has a super power. He tells her he can talk to machines. Both she and his mother were born in the same hospital, same time, same doctor.

Hiro tried a ploy to get the briefcase (with the formula?) from the Haitian. He accidentally knocked him down the stairs. Powers are back -- Daphne whizzes by them and grabs it.

Back to the bank -- Noah is facing Knox (ex-Marlo!) and Knox isn't pleased. Jesse/Peter finds his powers. First everything blows, then all freezes. Future Peter arrives to save Jesse-bodied Peter. They vanish together. Uh-oh ... now the real Jesse has Noah!

Claire and bio-mom are going into a warehouse of some kind where the mom is going to teach her how to fight. The beginning is survival. Claire says she wants to learn to fight.

In the bank, Syalr has arrived to save Noah from Knox and Jesse. It looks like a new partnership is forming between Noah and Sylar.

Claire tells her Mom she's indestructible. The mother mentions suffocation. Claire is having problems. The bio-Mom is telling her it's her mind. She feels trapped. Her body won't stop the bad guys. Claire screams that she wants to hurt them ... and then goes free.

Bank -- Sylar let Knox escape. He goes for Jesse ... I guess the partnership isn't too cool. He does his thing to Jesse while Noah is trapped watching him through glass.

Claire and bio-Mom are talking. You have to learn how to save yourself before you save the world. Aw, they

Desert --

Yikes ... big car crash outside here. Later!

Heroes Season Premiere Tonight

Yes, there is a three-hour block of Heroes scheduled tonight. The actual new season begins at 9 PM ET/PT. I'll be watching, but I don't think I'm going to write up a full review. I'm a bit fuzzy on where last season left off although I'm sure it will come back to me. But three hours worth is too long for my knee to be in one position watching and blogging. I'll try to get the more important things mentioned, though.

The first hour is a pre-season premiere special. All of the stars and a huge party with clips from the past seasons, a run-down of the heroes, some glimpses into the new season. I'll have to have a Heroes party with my cat. She doesn't like to fly ... sigh.

Who shot Nathan Petrelli? Noah? Adam Monroe? Niki's Jessica? His mother? Mohinder? Claire? Sylar? Unknown assassin? The suspense builds.

Volume Three - "Villains"

Ohh ... Claire tries to shoot Peter, then he goes back to the past when Nathan was shot. Peter chased the would be assissin into the mens room only to find his cap and jacket. Hmmm....

UH-oh, now Nathan is dead but we know he isn't. He zooms to life right at Peter and we get the opening credits.

Hiro now has 51% of his father's business, but he's the same old Hiro at heart. A message recorded by his father was given to him. But then there's Claire packing to save Nathan but running into Sylar instead. He wants her healing power, of course. But she gives him a right uppercut instead. He's locking all exits before she can get to them. No working phone. Claire! He's in back of you! She hides in a closet with a butcher knife.

Cut to Maya being surprised by Mohinder. He's ready to give up his work. He decides her powers have a mind/body connection ... flight or fight. He has an epiphany ... the abilities are produced by adrenalin.

Back to Hiro -- He leaves him a sacred duty. He must keep a secret. In the wrong hands the secret could destroy the world. He's supposed to be a sentinel, but Hiro wants to be a hero. He's not supposed to open the safe, but that's what he wants to do. Heh, another DVD from his father scolding him. He has half of a formula that the fate of the world depends on and must find the person with the other half.

Ohh ... a new blond female evil "hero" speedster snatched the formula and he froze time to catch up with her. She escapes with the half the formula.

Meanwhile, Peter might be the assailant of his brother. He went to retrieve the gun and Parkman caught him. Yipes, it turns out that Peter's scar returns and he tells Parkman that he came from the future to stop Nathan from telling the world about them. And, now that Parkman knows, he can't be there anymore. Uh-oh, is it the end of Parkman?

Nathan leaves the hospital as a news reporter talked of his miraculous recovery ... and Peter's looking for him. Nathan thinks he was saved to do great things. Peter's ready to shoot him again if he talks. Nathan says God is the only one with a message -- "We're all connected. Only together can we be the stewards of our own destiny." Peter doesn't shoot him. "Save ourselves, save the world."

Cut back to Mohinder and Maya. He's trying to figure out the source of her power. He's isolated the genetic building blocks of her abilities. She wants her powers taken away, not given to others!

Back to Claire and Sylar. He has found her father's files on the heroes. She attacked him, but he's ready to ... he starts to slice her head ... and we go into commercial.

Back. She is cut and wonders if he's going to eat her brain. He doesn't; he just goes for a certain little bit, no eating. He pulls out the knife she stuck in him and the healing power seems to be working. He has taken off the top of her headbut he puts it back on, she lives. She heals. When she wonders why he doesn't kill her, he tells her she's special and can never die. Now neither can he.

Back to Mohinder and Maya. Blah-blah. He wants to inject himself with his discovery. She doesn't understand, thinks her abilities are a curse. She thinks his discovery is evil and should be destroyed.

Back to Nathan and Peter. Peter reminds him of the powers while Nathan thinks it's the hand of God or angels. Now Nathan doesn't want to tell the world so I guess Peter won't have to kill him again. Yikes. Peter leaves and Linderman comes in. He's the one who healed him. "You and I are meant for great things, Nathan."

Niki/Jessica is with a governor and they see Nathan on TV. She likes him. Isn't he such a lucky man?

Eww. Parkman is in a desert with a scorpion on him. He's all alone and panicky.

To Ando and Hiro talking about the woman stealing the formula. Ando wants him to go back in the past and ask his father. But Hiro wants to go to the future to see if the world gets destroyed. So he does. Future Hiro has the formula, Ando kills future Hiro while present day Hiro watches. Ando has the formula and it looks like the city is esploding, but it's back to present day. Hiro tells Ando they must get the formula.

Oh, back to Mohinder. He's ready to shoot up the serum from Maya, he does it. An allergic reaction? Poisoning? He collapses.

Back to Peter, Nathan and Mom Petrelli. She asks Peter what he's done with Peter. She knows he shot Nathan. He tells her the formula she has will destroy the world. She says something different happens and it's all because of him. She wants her son back. "I put him somewhere safe," Peter says and walks away.

But she's right, he's not Peter. Peter is trapped underground with HRG. Into narration from Mohinder about the second coming. Parkman, Claire, Sylar ... all seem to be on their missions. Hmmm ... Mohinder is laying in the same prone position as Sylar when he went down. Thugs try to steal his money and he jumps to life with some sort of super strength, not Maya's blackening eyes bit.

Chapter Two - "The Butterfly Effect"

Claire's mother is in the house and is upset that Syalr was there. Clair cut her hand, but this time she doesn't feel the pain. Before she would heal but feel the pain. She's upset -- said the pain was the only time she knew she was still human.

Huh? Mrs. Petrelli walks into a buidling foul of our heroes, the good ones all dead. The bad ones alive. Phew. It was a dream as she rode in the back of a car. She goes to Peter and tells him it's her fault. He tells her he can't, he's busy saving the world. She tells him you don't screw with time -- the butterfly effect. You step on a butterfly today and three years from now a million people die.

They talk about Claire. She tells him that she's had a bad day and he should go see for himself.

Maya and Mohinder in NYC again. He's really developed superpowers, it seems. He's thrilled to death with his new powers. He's sort of like Spider-Man with his climbing. They kiss and we get hero-sex and then a commercial.

Parkman is still staggering through the desert and looking weak. He presses on. He collapses. And we go to part two -- Syular walking up the street and getting shot by cops, flinging the two agents aside. Back to Bob and Elle at Primatech -- the agents were theirs. She wants to go find Sylar.

Back to Hiro and Ando. Hiro is jumpy around Ando probably because he saw Ando kill future Hiro. The speedster is Daphne and they get a file on her from their detectives.

To Jessica and the governor. He thinks Nathan is untested. Sje is pushing for them to go with him ... politically, it sounds like. She wants him to appoint Nathan to the junior senator of New York. She's off on her mission.

Eep. The guy who played Willard (rats), approaches her. He's some kind of journalist and wants to exp[se her past.

Back to Hiro and Ando. They see the Mona Lisa? Now Claire is recording again, thinking she's not human. "If you can't feel anything, do you still have a soul?" She stands in front of a train, but Peter swoops in and saves her. She tells him something awful happened to her and ... commercial.

She tells him about Sylar taking her top of her head off. Peter blames himself and knows that Syalr can heal now. Peter tells her he can't help her because if something goes wrong, it could change the whole world.

To Nathan and Jessica arriving. He's surprised. She tells him that she works with Governor Malden (?) and about the position. He tells her that she's Niki Sanders and she tells him she's Tracy Strauss. Linderman watches her leave. He tells Nathan that it was legit and that it wasn't Niki Sanders. He tells Nathan that it is God's plan. Nathan kicks him out of the room.

Back to Elle and Bob. She tells him that Sylar could be sent to Level Five and have a buffet. Uh-oh, Bob is dead. She goes to Level Five -- and that's where Peter and HRG are. She gives HRG a gun and says they have to go for Sylar.

Whoops, Sylar is there. HRG shoots him several times. He looks dead, but the bullets are falling out of him and the healing works. He tells him he got the power from Claire and flings him. Elle tried to use her hands on him. He turns the gun to gold, tells her he killed a lot of people and she's as much to blame. All of a sudden the electricity flash and I think it was Sylar gping up in the air with it. Hmmm ... did the Peter who doesn't look like Peter do it? I turned my head a second, not sure if it was indeed Sylar. Definitely a guy, not Elle.

Yep, Peter did it. He escapes with a black guy. Elle is still alive as is HRG. Syalr is pretty out of it and it looks like they're going to lock him up.

Ando and Hiro -- In France. Hiro tells him about the future Ando killing future Hiro. Ando is dubious about that. Hiro is in Daphnre's place looking for something they can use to bargain for getting the formula back.

Peter and Nathan. Nathan mentions the position offered. Peter tells him he came from the future and came back to kill him. He said it was because the future heroes were tortured and abused because of Nathan's speech and he had to shoot him. Nathan asks future Peter what he should do ... take the offer? Peter says he's from a different future and Nathan must make the right choices. Peter vanishes telling Nathan that he has to set things right.

Nathan accepts the offer and tells "Tracy" he wants her on his staff. Back to the rat ... er, journalist. She denies she's Niki Sanders. He has a video of Niki and Nathan. He keeps at her, she pulls on his arm, he freezes and shatters like glass. ZMD 320 is the plate on her car if that means anything. She seems to have frightened herself with her power.

Elle is guarding over Sylar when Mrs. Petrelli arrives. Mrs. P tells her now that her father's dead, she's in charge. She's very condescending and tells Elle that her electrical power cut down the grid and allowed the prisoners to escape -- her services aren't needed anymore. "I suppose you'll have to get yourself another life," says Mrs. P.

Hiro and Ando trying to figure out Daphne with Catwoman. Daphne arrives and Hiro dangles her running medal trying to get the formula back. The formula paper is behind the Mona Lisa. She tells them her boss won't be happy. She zooms at Ando, holding a knife to him. She wants the formula and the medal. Hiro is confident -- he put a tracker on the medal. They go off following her.

Mohinder and Maya are in bed and he ain't doin' too well. His skin is peeling off all over his back and he seems all hot and bothered.

Someone has found Parkman in the desert. It's a turtle, telling him the plant nearby will give him water. Um, okay. It does. But the turle is not a turtle. It's an African asking him if he knows Britney Spears because he's from America. They walk. He tells Parkman he must stay and spirit walk for several miles. He sees the future. They walk on.

Claire is in her house, HRG is home again. She's so happy to see him but realizes he's not staying.

Chess game -- Linderman and Nathan. Linderman tells him he made the right choice by taking the senate seat. Nathan tells him that he won't be manipulated this time. Uh-oh, turns out that no one can see Linderman but Nathan. So his aide thinks he's playing by himself.

HRG is showing Claire all the heroes files, the evil ones it seems. Yep, evil. He says they will cause unimaginable destruction to the world -- they're villains. He's the only one who can stop them. Claire wants to help him. HRG has appointed Claire's firehands biological mother to protect the family.

Peter is after Sylar in Level five. His mom arrives and tells him it was the butterfly effect. She calls him Jesse and tells him that she wants her son back. Yikes, Peter sees the flamethrower guy kill people. The evil villains are befriending him. Hmmm ...but Peter's reflection is the guy who didn't look like him but was him in Level Five. Curioser and curiouser.

Mrs. P has Syalr captive. She calls him Gabriel and wants to take him in as her son. He says she's not his mother. "But I am, but I am," she replied.

And that's that.

'Heroes' - "Powerless"

Heroes - NBC
Tonight's season finale of Heroes made me wish the first several episodes of the season weren't as lackluster. It was old-time first season pacing tonight. They didn't jump around as wildly between the characters and locations and even spent more than a few minutes in one spot -- as it should be.

Here's the lowdown by character(s) --

Mohinder Suresh, Molly Walker, Sylar, Maya in Brooklyn
Sylar and Maya were waiting for Mohinder (who still has a screw loose if you ask
me, but improves this episode). Mohinder tried to tell Maya that Sylar's a killer and she confesses to killing others, too. She wants the Ashanti virus to take away her powers while Sylar wants his powers back. When Mohinder learns Sylar doesn't have powers, he pulls a knife. But Sylar pulls a gun.

Maya does her eyes thing affecting Sylar, Mohinder, and Molly. Sylar made her stop and Mohinder agreed to help him.

Mohinder takes them to his "lab" -- Isaac Mendez' old studio. He told Sylar that he needed a blood sample, but Sylar is smarter than Mohinder -- he doesn't trust him. But Mohinder quickly drew blood anyway and noted he had to have been injected with the Ashanti virus to stop his powers when he was at the Company.

Meanwhile, Molly offered to find Alejandro (killed by Sylar last week unbeknownst to Maya) for Maya. "He's not anywhere." Maya freaked and went after Sylar. He shot her, then demanded that Mohinder give her the Claire blood cure. "Now look what you made me do," he said after he shot her.

Mohinder injected Maya with the Claire cure blood, and Elle (thinking she could
impress her father Bob by going after Sylar after seeing him on their video monitor of Mohinder's lab), went after Sylar, but he escaped. She was tickled pink when Mohinder told her that even though Sylar escaped, she saved their lives. That Elle has issues.

Elle, Bob, and Noah Bennet at the Company in Hartsdale, NY
Elle was in hot water with her daddy for her confrontation with Claire. "You're
benched! No more field missions." He was really cold and condescending to her. Which, of course, was perfect for the captive Noah when she asked about what he knew of her past.

He told her that her father experimented with her powers, pushing her way past the wattage he should. Bennet told her that no father who cared about his
daughter would treat her that way.

Bob interrupted them, so Elle went off looking for her file. It was empty. But the monitors caught her interest and that's when she saw Sylar was with Suresh at Isaac's studio.

As she was doing that, Bob was blackmailing Bennet. He told him that Claire was "becoming difficult" -- planning to go public. In her best interests, Bennet needed to return to the Company and keep her from exposing it.

Matt Parkman, Nathan and Angela Petrelli in Manhattan
Matt and Nathan told Angela that Victoria (the woman in the group photo) was
killed by Adam. She told them that Adam would need Peter to steal the virus at Primatech in Odessa, Texas, as only his powers could do the deed.

Angela told them that 30 years ago she trusted Adam. They were all going to "fix the world." Then she found out that the way Adam would fix it is to wipe out the population. (Reminds me of the Lathe of Heaven).

She told them the only way to kill Adam was a bullet through the head. She thought at Matt that if he needs to do it, only a bullet in the head would kill Peter.

Primatech Paper Adventures
My, what a busy place this was. Adam and Peter Petrelli were there to get the
virus which would eventually kill 93% of the population. Peter thought they were going there to destroy it but Adam actually wants to release it. Peter used his powers to knock everyone out of their way.

But then Hiro showed up -- he wanted to kill Adam to avenge the death of his father. Since Peter's as stupid as Mohinder as of late, he thought Hiro was his enemy when Hiro froze time and went after Adam.

Hiro, on the other hand, knows that Adam is a bad dude and fought Peter the
best he could so he could kill Adam. But Peter zapped him only ...

... to have Nathan and Matt fly in to town. All during this time, Peter had opened the vault and Adam had gone inside. Oh, no! Stop him!

Nathan convinced Peter that it was him (Peter) on the wrong side -- he was being used by Adam. Hiro had already come to and had gone after Adam in the vault.

Adam told Hiro that he was actually his inspiration. They struggled and Hiro
transported them away leaving the vial of virus to fall to the floor ... only to be stopped from breaking by Peter.

Peter destroyed the vial in his hand with the radioactive hands power. Before the
vial's dust disappeared, the "Godsend" logo (whatever) appeared in it.

Uh-oh.

Hiro solved the Adam problem at least temporarily by burying him alive in the graveyard where his (Hiro's) parents are buried.

Niki, Micah, Monica in New Orleans
Micha convinced Niki to drive him to save Monica from the hooligans who kidnapped her. For the crime of stealing back a stolen comic book and backpack, one thug was lighting her and an abandoned building on fire.

Micah used his powers to talk to the cell phones for GPS tracking and to change traffic lights to green. Once there, Niki went someone strong, beat up the thug, and saved Monica from the burning building. The building blew up with Niki still inside.

Claire, the Bennets (Butlers) in California
Claire is determined to expose the company. West showed up trying to convince
her not to do so. She gave him the file on him and broke up with him. He flew away.

Then Noah showed up telling them that they had saved him with Claire's blood. But he also had to work for the Company once again to keep the family safe.

Claire wasn't to tell anyone of her powers and their lives would be as "normal" as possible.

Noah told them that everything was his fault -- he never meant to hurt anyone. When he went outside, Bob was there and he told him he told them.

Nathan at press conference in Odessa, Texas
When Peter destroyed the virus in the vault, Nathan decided it was time to
expose the Company and go public.

He started going on about "ordinary people with extraordinary powers, heroes amongst us" when BANG.

Nathan was assassinated. We saw the back of the killer going out the door.

Cut to Angela Petrelli on the phone in Manhattan with the news of Nathan's death going on in the background -- "I know it was unavoidable. You do know you opened Pandora's box, right?"

Sylar shoots up in the alley
Sylar, pretty beaten by Elle, is like a junkie in an alley shooting up the "cure." His wounds healed and his powers, weak at first, came back.

"I'm baaaack."

So, it looks like Nathan and Niki are dead, but are they? Who was the assassin? Noah Bennet? The Haitian? Bob himself? Will the grave hold Adam long? I guess we won't know until it all resumes in 2008. My one real irk of the episode is that I was overjoyed that Maya was killed -- thus the end of the Wonder Twins ... then they brought her back. Grr.

Tonight's 'Heroes'

It's a new episode tonight, but I want to take a pass on writing up the review. Due to circumstances I'm not up to undertaking it tonight. If you wish to comment on the show, please feel free to do so. I will be watching and might join in in the comments.

My apologies and thank you.

I'm updating this post and adding a recap from blog commenter Carla who was kind enough to write it up for us! Thank you so much, Carla -- you rock!

Here's Carla's take on the episode:

Peter and Adam

Peter and Adam are talking in the warehouse. Peter flashes to the streets of New York a year later. He sees the future Peter and Caitlyn and starts calling out her name. Next thing he’s back in the warehouse with Adam who is telling him that he never left the room. Adam tells Peter that the picture with his parents and the others are the people who created the virus he’s talking about.

Bob at the Bennett House

Mrs. Bennett is holding a gun up to him as he is trying to give (fake) ashes to them. After he’s gone Mrs. Bennett tells the kids to pack their bags because they are leaving tonight. Switches over to Bob sitting in his car talking to Elle, who has her arm in a sling. Bob talks about Elle regaining his trust by watching the cheerleader. She says she will.

Noah Bennett at the Company facility

It shows Noah’s eye fixing itself again. Noah calls for Mohinder who appears at his side. Mohinder tells him that Claire’s blood saved him and he gets very angry. Mohinder tries to tell Noah that the Company saves lives, but Noah tells him that he can’t trust the Company.

New Orleans

The cousins are talking about comic books, heroes, costumes, and secret identities. The boy cousin says he wants to sell the comics to make some money. Nikki comes back and tells Micah that she has a virus but that Jessica and all the rest are gone now. She tells Micah that Dr. Suresh is working on finding a cure and that she will get better. Micah talks about his father’s medal and goes to get it from his backpack but the backpack is missing.

Maya and Sylar

Maya and Sylar are sitting outside drinking wine together. Maya explains her power to Sylar and how her brother helps her when she has an episode. Sylar asks Maya what she would do if she was able to control her power without her brother. “You’ll never know unless you try” without him. Sylar kept talking to make her upset – she did her black crying thing. Sylar cries out “Help, you’re killing me” and Maya somehow controls her power.

Hiro and Ando

Hiro tells Ando he knows Takezo Kensei killed his father.

Peter and Adam in Searsmont, Maine

Peter and Adam are at Victoria’s house. Adam has a gun, but Peter insists on going in alone with no gun. Victoria is gardening when Peter comes and asks if she’s Victoria. She says she’s never heard of her but turns around with a shotgun pointed at him. Peter tells Victoria that the Shanti virus is going to be released in 24 hours and will kill billions of people in a year’s time. Victoria backs up, cocks her gun, and tells Peter to get inside the house, NOW.

Hiro and Ando, present day/Hiro, Kaito, Adam, and Victoria, 1977

Hiro finds a picture of Kensei/Adam with his father. Ando finds an order that Hiro’s father signed to lock Adam up in 1977. Hiro time travels back to that day at Primatech. In 1977 time, Kaito tells Adam he betrayed everything by releasing the virus. Adam says that he had to make a hard choice for the greater good. Victoria is there after Adam is taken away and is talking about Strain 138 and how it is good that Adam didn’t get a hold of it. Kaito takes it from her and says he is going to send it to Odessa. Victoria tells Kaito that it needs to be destroyed because Adam had to have help to break in and get a hold of anything at the Company. Victoria – “I can’t be a part of this anymore.”

Victoria and Peter, present day

Victoria has articles of Company members on her coffee table. Peter asks her to tell him where the virus is so he can save Caitlyn. Victoria tells him he’s looking for mutated strain 138 and that if it is released it would “kill us all.” Outside Peter tells Adam that it’s in a storage facility in New Mexico right before Victoria shoots Adam and then Peter. Victoria comes after Adam a second time to shoot him in the head/shoot his head off (the one thing he wouldn’t be able to recover from). Before she is able to shoot him in the head, Peter comes to and knocks Victoria out.

Maya and Alejandro

Maya tells Alejandro that Gabriel/Sylar helped her control her power. Alejandro tells her that he looked Gabriel Gray up and found out that he is wanted in the death of his mother. Sylar walks into the hotel room asking if Maya has told Alejandro the good news yet. Alejandro walks up to Sylar and confronts him in Spanish. Sylar shuts the door with a sinister look. Maya confronts him in English – this says you killed your mother? Sylar tells her it is true, that his mother didn’t understand when she learned of his powers and thought he was a monster. Her death occurred accidentally when they struggled. Maya tells him that she understands and that Sylar understands exactly what she’s going through and what she feels. She tells Alejandro that she’s staying with Gabriel/Sylar. Alejandro tells her that he’s not leaving her with him. Maya tells him that she knows he hates her because she killed his wife (Sylar put this idea in her head). Alejandro tells her he knows it was an accident but Maya says in her heart she wanted his wife dead. Alejandro rushes out of the hotel room and Sylar tells Maya that he’ll take care of her (with a creepy look on his face).

Victoria, Peter, and Adam

Peter wants to destroy the virus, but Victoria tells him that Adam wants to release the virus. Victoria accuses Adam of killing Kaito and the others. Peter reads Victoria’s mind to find out where the virus is being stored. Adam unties Victoria who grabs the gun and attempts to shoot Peter in the head. Adam beats her to the punch and shoots her, explaining to Peter that she was going to blow his head off and there’s no coming back from that.

New Orleans

Micah’s boy cousin has been beaten up and the backpack with comics and the medal are gone. Micah tells him that he hates him. He tells Nikki that they need to get it back and be heroes like his father. Micah’s power cousin (I can’t remember her name!) has a look on her face that she wants to do something.

Sylar, Maya, Alejandro

Alejandro goes to Sylar’s hotel room and attacks him. Sylar kills him. We hear Maya knocking on the door – Sylar opens the door drying his hair from the shower. Maya tells him that she has to do what she can to protect her brother and it’s better if he just goes back to Mexico. Maya tells Sylar that without him she would still be there. Sylar tells her that he just wants to help her. They kiss and the camera pans to Alejandro lying on the floor and Sylar slowly closing the door.

Bennett family

Claire is going through boxes and West is in the doorway behind her. Claire is sad about the death of her father. She talks about the things she’s done and overcome but says “this hurts more than any of that and it’s not getting better.” She also talks about the guy her father used to work with (the Haitian) who can take the hurt away by erasing her memories of her father. She pulls the wind chimes out of a box to summon him. She just wants to tell her father how sorry she is.

New Orleans

Micah’s power cousin wakes him up and she’s wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. She tells him that she knows where the kids who stole his back pack live and that he can come with her but he has to stay out of the way and out of trouble.

Mohinder and Bob at the Company

Mohinder tells Bob that Claire’s blood is going to work to cure Nikki. He talks about Strain 138 and how dangerous it is. Mohinder wants Bob to help him find it and destroy all strains of the virus. He then calls Nikki in New Orleans to tell her he’s found a cure and will bring it to her on the next flight.

New Orleans

Nikki goes to tell Micah the good news and finds that he’s not in his bed. Scene changes to Micah and the power cousin who is watching something to learn how to climb walls. She says something about it being too bright and she doesn’t want anyone to think she’ robbing the place. Micah touches the streetlight and it turns off. When she asks him how he did it he tells her that he told the light he needed it to be off for while. The power cousin does her climbing thing and gets tot the backpack which is now empty. As she’s looking at it, a car pulls up so she grabs all the comics that are close to her and hides up above the staircase. As the guys are walking up the stairs a comic drops. They look up, pull guns on her, then throw her in the back of their van. Micah runs off.

Bennett family

Claire is standing at the edge of the ocean with what she thinks are her father’s ashes. She says she is sorry and dumps them in the ocean waves with an “I love you, Dad.” Mrs. Bennett tells her to say goodbye to West so they can get going. Claire hugs West and tells him she’s losing everything she cares about. As she’s hugging him, she notices Elle sitting in a car watching her. Elle tries to start the car to leave but can’t get the keys in because her arm is in a sling. Claire confronts her and tells her that she’s going to tell everyone about her secret so that Elle and Bob will be the ones on the run.

Mohinder in a cab in New York

Mohinder is looking at a syringe when his cell phone rings. It’s Sylar! Sylar is with Molly! Sylar tells Mohinder that he is with someone else who can also use his help. Maya is there and she is smiling.

Hiro and Ando

Hiro tells Ando that he knows the virus is in Texas where they saved the cheerleader. Ando asks him how he can save the world with Adam around who can’t be killed. Hiro looks over at his sword and says that he has to try

Primatech Paper – Adam and Peter

Adam and Peter are walking through the factory when time freezes for everyone but Peter. Peter looks around and sees Hiro standing behind him. Hiro tells Peter that Adam killed his father and he must pay for that. Peter tells him that he can’t let him do that. Hiro tells Peter that he’s chosen the wrong side. Peter holds out his power hand then Hiro runs toward him with his sword.

To be continued…

Thank you again, Carla!

'Heroes' - "Cautionary Tales"

Well. Now, this was an episode, wasn't it? Oh, not that I understood exactly everything which went down tonight, but ... wow. Without further ado, here's the skinny as I know it:

The Bennets in CA
HRG decided they have to move, run,
hide ... whatever. Claire has decided that he's a liar because he abducted West. She told him she hates him. She refused to leave with the family until Mom Bennet (Butler) stepped in.

Claire tried to apologize to West by writing SORRY with rocks on the ground below his regular flight route. He met her there, but isn't sure whether she lied to him and was in on some sinister plot to get him or what. "Spy girl, the jig is up." (Maybe the writers shouldn't return with lines like that!)

M
eanwhile, at home HRG told his wife that he did indeed abduct West at the age of 12 -- to save the world, of course. He realized that West is probably the only one who can find Claire. So he puts in a call to Mohinder Suresh to use Molly to find him, then goes out the door ... only to be swooped up by a flying West.

Upon landing, they wrestle. HRG admits to West that Claire knew nothing and since she lied to him about West, she obviously cared for him (West). HRG decided he'd force West to tell Claire to leave with them for her own safety.

Then his cell phone rang ...

Mohinder, Elle, and Bob to CA
Bob convinced Mohinder (where is his mind) Suresh that they needed Claire's blood to save Nikki ... and that they had to take HRG out. Uh-oh. Mohinder was reluctant, but Bob gave him a new hitwoman partner -- Elle, his daughter. Like with Peter, Elle was all over Mohinder. "He's adorable, can I keep him?" Blech.
Mohinder demanded they try it his way first with no violence.

Oh, back to the phone ringing ... it was Mohinder calling supposedly from NYC saying Molly located
West. Now, HRG was with West, so he knew something was up.

As this was happening, Bob was at the school posing as a school board official. He interviewed Claire about the drunken cheerleader, then kidnapped her.

Oh, but the tables were turned once again! HRG teamed up with West. It turns out HRG and Elle know each other well. While HRG was talking to Mohinder accusing him of "going native" and being indoctrinated by the Company, Elle started towards him. Wham! West flew smack into her, then HRG shot her in the arm and took her captive.

Daughter for daughter trade was on. First, Bob took some of Claire's blood. I'll finish the rest of that story at the end. Let's go to ...

Matt Parkman, Molly, Mrs. Petrelli in NYC
Matt has discovered how to use his powers to read minds to actually instill thoughts in them. First he experimented with Molly -- making her eat her cereal. Then he did it with his sergeant -- giving him another talk with Angela Petrelli.

Then he used it on Mrs. Angela Petrelli herself despite her knowing about the
power and trying to resist. Matt wanted to know who killed Kaito Nakamura -- she told him it was Adam. She said he did it for revenge for being held for thirty years. She also said that as the power to regenerate and heal is used, the aging process stops. Adam is 400 years old.

Matt also wanted to know who the woman in the group photo was, but she refused to tell him. Her nose started to bleed and she said she had to keep that one secret because she had promised her. "If you force me, you're not like your father. You ARE your father." The post it note he had on the photo read Victoria Pratt for her name.

Hiro, Ando, and Kaito Nakamura
Hiro cannot accept his father's death. Ando told him he can't change it. So Hiro teleports himself to the roof of the DeVeaux Building just before it happened. He teleported himself and his father 17 years back to his mother's funeral, meeting up once again with his younger self.

His father, Lt. Sulu, er ... Kaito, is proud of him. But when Hiro told him that he was going to die, his father said it couldn't be changed. Hiro, after sentimental funeral for Mom stuff, teleports them both back to NYC.

Once back on the roof, he witnessed the discussion between Kaito and Mrs. Petrelli, then as the hoodie-wearing killer attacked, Hiro stopped time. He told a frozen in place Ando that he couldn't change the future, but he can see who killed his father. He lifted the hoodie ... Takezo Kensei, AKA Adam. "I never thought it would be you."

Then there was a rather extended bit about him refusing to say eulogy at his father's funeral as when he followed his lessons he still lived, yada-yada-yada. (Yes, I stole those yadas.)

Back to CA and the HRG vs. Bob showdown
Bob released Claire and HRG released Elle. West had been told to immediately fly Claire out of danger. He did, but Elle nailed them with an electric bolt, knocking them out of the sky. West landed atop Claire, thus saving his life.

HRG turned to Bob, aiming his gun. "If you die, the Company dies." But before he could shoot (he hesitated a really long time for an ex-Company dude), Mohinder shot him in the eye just like in the Isaac Mendez prophetic painting. Oh, no! I was liking HRG!

But, he's not dead even though Claire thinks he is -- West flew her away and stayed as she broke the news to her mother.

Bob took HRG. He gave him a transfusion with Claire's blood and the eye bullet hole healed before his very eyes. He was on a bed in a cell-room at the Company, it appeared.

He woke up startled. Then he declared, "I'm home!"

Wow.

Mohinder has got to go. He's whacked as of late. Maybe Elle will accidentally electrocute him.

There were no Wonder Twins this chapter. Good.

'Heroes' - "Four Months Ago"

Heroes - NBC

Tonight they promised us answers about what happened between the seasons. And,
they actually did. Of course, as with Lost, now I have some new questions. But I knew that Bob was a bad, bad man. I knew it!

Here's the lowdown skinny ...

Everything hinged on the ability to remember the past, a quality only found in humans. Well, that's what Mohinder Suresh's narrative told us, anyway.

Here's what happened to DL, Micah, and Niki/Jessica:
The bullet we saw last season didn't kill DL. He actually got a job as a fireman and became a true-life normal kind of hero. He did until Niki went all Jessica, locking Niki in the mirror to run off to Los Angeles, that is.

But before that happened, Niki met Bob Bad Man in the hospital as DL recovered
from his wound. Bob knew about her powers and offered to cure her so she would never hurt anyone again. He mentioned that the papers had nothing about what had happened at Kirby Plaza, nor the Linderman death. He wanted to help her because Jessica's not gone, blah-blah-blah.

She agreed to take medication at home as she didn't want to go in for treatmen
t. On her first day of a new job as a car saleswoman, Jessica took over and ran off to Los Angeles. DL went to find her and got shot as he offended her new lustmate on the dance floor. Now, that killed him.

She left Micah with his grandmother and cousins, Monica and Damon, to go for treatment with dear Bad Bob. At the end of tonight's episode, in present day, she left the Company supposedly cured.

What happened with the Wonder Twins:

Maya and Alejandro were "normal" at his wedding. Maya, not really so normal as she was vehemently against the marriage. She caught the bride having sex with another man at the wedding (no less). Her black bleeding eyes bit began and she not only killed the bride and her sex mate, but the entire wedding party!

She tried to hide out in a church, even away from her brother -- the only one who didn't die in the party of hundreds. He found her in the church and turned her in "for her own good." She did the eye thing again, he calmed her holding her hands and they were last seen with a watch repairman named Gabriel (Sylar) near the US border.

I still don't like them. She killed so many, make her go away.

What happened after Kirby Plaza:

As Nathan and Peter flew away from the Plaza, Peter insisted that Nathan let
him go. Peter was nuking out and Nathan was starting to burn. Nathan can fly, but he doesn't burn well, not at all.

Nathan ended up in the hospital in very bad shape. He told his wife about flying and all. Then Mrs. Petrelli told her that he was suffering delusions and they had a deep dark secret in the family's past with delusions and suicide. She better run, Mrs. P said. Maybe she didn't put it quite that way, but ...!

They all assumed Peter exploded and died. But Peter had brought Nathan into the hospital in the first place and was himself healing when ...

Peter, Adam, Elle, Bob, the Haitian, and the Company:
... Elle, with Bad Man Bob (Dad?) at her side, zapped Peter and they took him captive at the Company, telling him they want to cure him. They claimed that he needed to be cured before he hurt anyone else.

In the cell er, ... room, next to him was a man named Adam. Adam had been there for thirty years awaiting his cure. And, yes, it's that Adam, Kensei Adam. Bob or Elle gave Peter doses of what they called the Haitian pills to make him forget his powers or render him useless. The Haitian was there, working for Bob.

Elle likes to be all over Peter. It turns out she doesn't get out much. She has that fingertip zap thing going on -- burnt down her grandmother's house when she was six, caused a major blackout when she was eight. The doctors called her a sociopath. So, it appears the Company has had her for years.

Adam kept working on Peter to remember, to not take the meds. He told him it
was a prison and they were just going to keep him, not cure him. Adam also told him that his (Adam's) blood could cure Nathan's burns because he has the healing factor.

Finally, he broke through to Peter and they both escaped. They went to the
hospital where Adam's blood did indeed do the trick and Nathan started healing right before their eyes. But they had to get out of there quick as they were surely followed.

And, they were. They split up with Adam telling Peter to meet him at the warehouse in Montreal and they would save the world.

Elle set Peter afire, but then chased after Adam. She had the Haitian chase Peter. He caught him, but instead of bringing him back, he decided it was better for Peter to escape the Company and start a new life. He handcuffed him inside an outgoing cargo car and did the Vulcan Mind Meld ... er, no ... that's the Haitian Memory Melt, I think.

And, back to present -- Adam and Peter met in the warehouse. Adam jolted his memory back.

So, are you ready to save the world?

'Heroes' - "Out of Time"

Well, I'm not quite sure what to make of all of the happenings in tonight's episode. One thing I'm really having issues with is all the jumping around so darn much. I swear this is how they plan it --

"Let's do a minute and a half of Hiro
in 1671 Japan."
"Quick! Let's go back to the Company in Hartsdale!"
"Enough of that, go back to Hiro!"
"Too much Hiro, let's go jump in on Claire!"

While I enjoy action, I'd prefer instead of jumping around so much, a more expanded version of the individual character stories. Please!

Hiro
It turns out Takezo Kensei traded Hiro for money and half of Japan with the dreaded White Beard. Hiro, Yaeko, and her swordsmith father were taken captive. Yaeko convinced Hiro to teleport them to escape.

Hiro tried to convince Yaeko that Kensei was good inside, but she wasn't too convinced -- after all, he stole, plundered, got her and her father kidnapped and all so much more.

When Hiro went to the camp to stop White Beard's march, he had to destroy the guns as that would change history if they were to remain. Kensei came in, big swordfight, the building blew
up with Hiro teleporting out just in time. But Kensei was blown to bits (apparently) in the blast.

As set up before he went, Hiro returned to Yaeko under the cherry blossom tree. She tried to convince him to stay, they both professed their l
ove, but Hiro said he must return to his own time. Yaeko will tell everyone the tales of the brave Kensei (Hiro will always be the real Kensei to her) so that centuries later, a young Hiro will hear the legends.

Poof. Hiro returns to Ando in present-day Japan. Ando told him there had been no blast, they saved the world. "Yata!"

Alas, then Ando told Hiro that his father was dead and had been murdered. Un-tata.

Noah Bennet (Butler/HRG) in Odessa, Ukraine
Bennet, still in the Ukraine with the Isaac paintings of the future, called Mohinder at the Company in Hartsdale, NY. Mohinder tried to tell HRG that he wasn't trusted at the Company any longer and Bob had assigned him a partner. HRG wanted him to help him with the paintings, but Mohinder said it would put him in danger. HRG burned the paintings. Don't ask me why.

At the Company with Many
Bob demanded the building be evacuated accompanied by Nathan Petrelli and Matt Parkman. Supposedly Parkman's father, the Nightmare Man (Maury), was in the building or on the way to kill Bob. He wants to kill Maury with the serum. Mohinder balks again. (I think Mohinder lost his mind sometime over the summer -- he doesn't have a clue what he's doing and flip-flops looking confused a lot this season.)

Bob told Park
man that he's the only one who can stop his father because he's the only one with the same powers. Parkman claimed that all he can do is read minds; Bob says he can do more.

So, Parkman decided to have a soul-to-soul talk with the comatose Molly. He
told her all about Bob thinking his powers were more than they are and the sad, sad story about his father leaving when he was a child. He noticed that when he told her he loved her, the monitor readings jumped. Why, gosh! He has power! So, he tried to communicate with her and they ended up in a rather lower-class apartment.

Molly told him that's where the Nightmare Man keeps her when he gets her. Sure enough, Maury shows up.

Oh, oh ... but before that ... in the Company, Niki is having visions of the dead DL -- with the Nightmare Man Maury skinking around corners and doorways in the building. DL tried to convince her she was still a murderer and hasn't changed. "You'll never see Micah again!"

Now, she's having the argument with DL in front of Mohinder. Of course, Mohinder couldn't see DL because DL was a nightmare created for Niki by Maury, so he thought she was a bit off ... then he looked confused some more. She ended up turning all Jessica, taking the serum, and breaking t
hrough the door to attack Bob with it.

In a struggle with Mohinder over the serum, she stabbed it into her own arm. Oh, she broke Mohinder's nose first.

Mohinder tried to thwart the poison with his own anti-virus which worked for Molly to no avail. It's a new strain.

Bob told Nathan that Maury wasn't the real problem. The real problem is Adam who escaped two weeks
previous. Linderman was Adam's disciple. Adam is the visionary. Bob also told Nathan that Peter was alive. He said that he had been in Cork, Ireland, and they recently lost him.

Bob gave Mohinder a gun, telling him the only way to save Niki was to get Claire because of her healing powers. Mohinder hesitated, then told Bob that he was working with Bennet to bring down the company. (What is with him?) Bob told him about bennet killing his mentor, Evon Spector in the Ukraine. "A storm is coming and Claire is the key." (Save the cheerleader, save the world!)

Mohinder, gun in hand, looked even more confused. He doesn't know which side is right. Now, unless he shoots Bob the next time ... I don't know what's up with him.

Nightmare Man, Parkman, and Molly in the Apartment
As I mentioned, Molly and Parkman roughly teleported to the apartment where Maury would take her. It turns out it's Matt Parkman's childhood apartment set for the night his father deserted the family. It's his father's nightmare.

Matt's powers kic
k in and his father arrived. They had a yelling battle in which you could almost picture Maury as the Wicked Witch of the West being melted by Dorothy. I swear I could hear Maury cry, "I'm melting! I'm melting!"

Oh, that was just me. In reality, Matt's powers grew while his father was surrounded with his own nightmare -- the desertion of his family. Matt and Molly left, leaving Maury behind.

Wham ... they appeared in the Company infirmary with Maury dead on the floor nearby. "He'll never scare you again, Molly."

Peter Petrelli in NYC - Mother Child Reunion
Peter and Caitlin were in evacuated NYC in 2008 when they were surrounded by men in protective suits who snagged them to be decontaminated.

While held captive, Peter was asked why he, a dead man, isn't even sick. His interrogator insisted there was a death certificate for him. Peter claimed he doesn't even remember who he is. When Peter asked about Caitlin, he was told she would be deported.

He was told that the Ashanti virus killed 93% of the population in 2007. His mother is brought to him, but he doesn't remember her at first. As she kept talking to him, it all came back. She told him that Nathan died in the first outbreak of the virus.

When Peter spots them taking Caitin away, he ran to her and freaked out a lot. And, accidentally used his powers to teleport himself back to the room in Montreal.

Where ... Adam arrived. Remember, Adam is the one who left the note to him about fighting the company. And, Adam is also the one Bob fears and says is running the show. And, Adam is Takezo Kensei, unaged after centuries.

Oh, suspense!

Claire and West in California
Claire is snuggling a lot with West despite her promise to her father that she wouldn't have a boyfriend. West showed up to bring breakfast and, with just Mom Bennet at hime, he stayed. Claire at least knew to hide the pictures of HRG because West had said he had been abducted by a man with Horn Rimmed Glasses.

He also showed her an article about the drunken cheerleader ousted from the squad after claiming to see a flying mugger.

They snuggle.

That lasts until HRG comes home and HRG is indeed West's HRG! He bolts, flies away.

Bennet confronted Claire with the article knowing that she had some kind of involvement. The mother mentions the new boyfriend. HRG freaks.

He says they have to move. Claire balks, saying if they go, they can go without her.

And, there you go. Next week is an "answers" kind of episode which is supposed to fill us in on some things. I think we need it.

'Heroes' - "The Line"

Heroes - NBC
Hmmm ... I'm wondering if the chapter name -- "The Line" -- has to do with the old saying "toeing the company line." I would think so as the meaning behind it is loyalty to the company even if the company's actions may be wrong. Although, after tonight, could the Company have good in mind?

Nah, I think it's a ploy. I don't trust the Company minions. Here's the skinny on what went down in the episode (chapter):

Peter and Caitlin

In the bar where Mickey was murdered by Elle, Peter and Caitlin talk about going to Montreal (as in the painting Peter Isaac'd). Peter doesn't want her to go with him, but she's insistent. She wants to kill the woman who killed her brother.

They opened the episode and closed it, not to be seen in between. In the closing of the episode, they're in Montreal at the very location they were in the painting. They enter what looks to be some sort of studio only to find a note to Peter from someone named Adam -- "We were right about the Company. The world is in danger." Peter doesn't remember an Adam (neither do I, but that's beside the point).

Peter and Caitlin embrace and end up doing a Hiro. They've transplanted themselves to June 14 (Flag Day), 2008 in an abandoned Times Square, NYC. Well, at least that was the date on the evacuation notice Peter found. That's where the show ended, but a lot happened to others in between.

Claire and West

While Claire's advocate Meg voted for her to become a cheerleader, Debbie (that so-and-so) said no. Claire seems to have issues with cheerleader captains. So did I, but I tended to scoff cheerleaders in general back in my high school days.

Claire told West that she had told her father that she was on the cheerleader squad and that she wasn't allowed ot date at all. West suggested she do something to Debbie to get her on the squad. She tried talking to her only to be turned down and laughed at.

Since Debbie the So-and-So was drinking, they came up with a way to humiliate her in public. I believe it was West's idea. He dressed in black garb like a robber
, flew in and picked up Claire while she was talking to Debbie. He then dropped her, killing her (but we know she'll heal), and went after Debbie. Debbie called the police to report it, Claire appeared alive, Debbie got canned from the squad and Claire is on. I don't care. I still don't trust West.

West told Claire that parental guidance is a non-issue when you can fly. I think he's going to try to really test Claire's bond with her parents. He reacted strangely when she mentioned parents. Does he even have any? He was in Louisville (if memory serves) when the "man with the horn-rimmed glasses" kidnapped him. Hmmm...

Monica, Mohinder Suresh, Molly, Niki, and Bob at the Company

Lots went down at the Company in Hartsdale, NY, this episode. Mohinder did
indeed bring Monica (Micah's cousin) there. They had her watching gymnasts and learning the moves. But then Bob wanted Mohinder to inject her with a serum (the Ashanti serum) which would remove her powers, but might have other effects, too. Of course, Bob says it's all for the greater good. Mohinder almost did it, but ended up going to Bob telling him he quit after calling HRG. He wants to take Molly with him and leave.

Oh, my. Bob did a quick
turnaround. He apologized to Mohinder, telling him how hard it's been -- 30 years, a lot has changed, they've overstepped their bounds, he's so valuable to them, a bigger danger exists, blah-blah-blah. So, Mohinder stays, Molly stays.

Bob ended up bringing Monica back to her house, giving her an iPhone with all kinds of videos she can study, and telling her there's a lot of good she can do in New Orleans. Say what? I just know the Company is evil! How dare he act good!

He gave Mohinder a new partner -- Niki (or could it be Jessica?) toeing the company line. No more misunderstandings. Mohinder just looked confused. So did
I.

HRG and the Haitian in the Ukraine

Yep, they're in Odessa and we aren't talking Texas. We're not talking a
management training meeting in Tulsa like he told Claire, either. They're seeking the remaining Isaac paintings from a Company dude whose name is Etan (I think). He was HRG's mentor in the Company.

HRG knew right where to hit him trying to get the paintings. First he had the Haitian erase Etan's memories of his wife and honeymoon. Then he went for the memories of the daughter when Etan finally told him what he wanted to know.

Etan tried to convince HRG to come back to the Company, telling him it had changed. HRG didn't fall for the company line. He made it look like a burglary and
shot him dead to cover his tracks. He and the Haitian then examined the paintings -- number 8, of course, might put a chill down his spine.

"You'll condemn yourself to hell," Etan cried as HRG aimed the gun at him.
BANG
"I know," HRG said.

Yikes, I say.

The Wonder Twins and Sylar

They're nearing the US border. Alejandro doesn't like Sylar and the feeling's
mutual. Sylar likes Maya's "delicious" power. He told Maya that he had special powers, but they all went away. He wants to be special again. As they cross the border, Sylar got Maya to use her powers to knock of the border patrol guys calling them "fake police."

Alejandro fussed that she was a killer because of him (Sylar). She told him that they needed Gabriel (Sylar) to get to Dr. Suresh. Alejandro told her he wouldn't give her his hand the next time and he'd let Gabriel die. Sylar told him that Maya is his own shiny new toy and he'll kill Alejandro.

Okay.

Hiro in 1671 Japan via Ando in present day Tokyo

I like Ando, but it makes no sense to have him read the scrolls. Make that stop.

Yaeko (the swordsmith's beautiful daughter), Kensei, and Hiro attack the camp of White Beard to rescue the swordsmith only to discover that the swordsmith told them how to make guns. Of course, guns didn't exist in Japan in 1671, so Hiro had to make sure the guns get destroyed. They must save Japan!

Then Hiro blew it. As danger surrounded them, he teleported Yaeko and himself away. She then realized it was him she had fallen in love with, not Kensei. It was Hiro with the flower petals! (Well, duh.) Hiro, poor lovelorn guy, kissed her. He's so in love and he knows it's an impossible love as he must get back to his
own time and she must fall for Kensei.

The really bad thing is that Kensei saw them kiss. Uh-oh. Hiro told him he had fallen in love with her, but it just can't be -- it would be the only kiss, there would be no more.

Oh, but Kensei didn't believe him and still had his old greed in mind, probably heightened because he knows he can't be killed. He kidnapped Yaeko and knocked out Hiro.

Gulp.

'Heroes' - "Fight or Flight"

Heroes - NBC

Now, mind you ... I'm not saying that I don't enjoy the show this season. I do. I wouldn't watch anything else in the 9 PM slot on Monday nights. But, that said, I think it's lost a bit of the amazing mesmerizing magic it held for me in its first season. I'm not sure what the problem is -- it's coming across as very disjointed this season. They're flipping from character to character and back again with no rhyme or reason.

Anyhow, here goes ...

Mohinder Suresh, Molly Parker, Matt Parkman (Brooklyn)
Molly is still all but comatose. Mohinder insists that Matt go ahead to Philadelphia to find his father -- the reason behind Molly's condition. He says that in nightmares you can fight or take flight. He think Matt owes it to Molly to go.

Mohinder calls HRG (who's with the Haitian) to tell him how sick Molly is. Mohinder wants to bring her to his boss at "The Company" as he thinks that they'd be the only ones who can save her. HRG is against the idea, but Mohinder does it anyway.

Mohinder, Molly, and Bob the Boss (The Company in NYC)
Bob the Boss, who reeks of a young Richard Deacon in my mind (Lumpy Rutherford's father in Leave it to Beaver) is thrilled Mohinder has brought in Molly ... as we could have guessed. Where's Mohinder's mind?

Bob tells Mohinder he has to go out in the field, handing him a taser gun. Reluctant to leave Molly behind, Mohinder stalls long enough for Jessica (of Jessica/Niki fame) to rant through and almost kill Bob with her powers. Mohinder uses the taser to bring her down.

Next thing you know, she's back to being Jessica and is in bed being consoled by Bob -- "Multiple personality disorder is a terrible thing." After he left the room, Mohinder tried to free her, but Jessica refused to go. She thinks The Company is her only help to be normal again.

Monica Dawson and Micah (New Orleans)
Although she was quick to stop the robber at her workplace, Monica refused to ID the guy to the cop even though he said she should step up and be a hero. She told her co-worker friend that she didn't know how she did what she did and she's still on the "I was meant to be someone better" kick we saw last week.

When she returned home, Micah was playing the piano. She said no one had played it since her mother died. She also said she didn't know how to play, but then went all piano fingers crazy after watching Micah for a bit. Micah, smart little dude that he is, figured out her power. He showed her how he can control the television, then it dawned on her that the
tomato roses and karate kick to the robber were learned with the power. Micah called it "copycat" and showed her it in the 9th Wonder comic book.

Micah and Monica went out to test her powers. She always wanted to Double Dutch, so she did it in style after watching a few minutes. Her eyes almost developed a tear-shaped outdent as she took in the how-to.

Alas, later when she answered the doorbell, it was Mohinder with the taser gun to bring her back to The Company. "You have questions? I have answers?" (What is going on with him?)

Peter Petrelli, Caitlyn, Mickey and Elle (Cork, Ireland)
Peter still hasn't opened the box and has become totally smitten with Caitlyn (am I spelling her name right this time?).

Caitlyn is sure that someone must be looking for him -- family or friends.

Oh, yeah someone is looking for him, but she's neither a family member or a friend.

So, we're introduced to a new anti-hero (I think I'll call the bad ones that from now on) -- Elle. She's looking for Peter and we first see that she has a lightning fingers power. Um, okay.

Mickey had heard that an American girl was searching for Peter, so he told him to go to Caitlyn's flat. When Elle met up with him in the bar, Mickey told her he didn't recognize the picture of Peter. She thinks otherwise. She uses her
lightning fingers to weld the lock on the door shut, then works him over trying to get information about Peter. She ended up killing Mickey.

As she called someone on the phone explaining that Peter was in Cork, she admitted killing Mickey. She said first that she had to use persuasion and d
idn't understand what the big deal was. Then she sighed and said into the phone, "Okay, I'll come home, Daddy." (Who's your daddy?)

Meanwhile, in the flat, Peter and Caitlyn finally opened the box. They found Peter's passport, a ticket to Montreal, and a photo of Nathan and Peter. Peter still has no memory of his prior self.

Peter saw a canvas and his old Isaac painting power took him over. He painted a picture of a couple near a corner. The street signs were in French, thus making them think Montreal is a must.

When they went to the bar, they found that Mickey had been murdered. That actually ended this episode, but not the way I'm writing it!

Ando (Tokyo) and Hiro & Co. (1671 Japan)
This was a lot of flipping back and forth and much ado about nothing (except the very end of the segments) to me. Ando took Hiro's scrolls passed through the sword to a man for reading. Hiro had pretty much been telling the story of what he was doing, so they went back and forth from the guy reading them to Hiro doing. Very odd.

At the very end of the segments, the scroll was unreadable. In the Hiro relating scene, Hiro, Kensei, and Yaoko find out they have to face an entire army.

Matt Parkman, Nathan Petrelli, and Matt's Dad (Mainly Philadelphia)
Matt met up with Nathan who thought he wanted another round of interrogating his mother. Instead, Matt told him about Molly and his father. Nathan initially didn't want to go with Matt, especially not used as a cargo jet, but he did.

They found the apartment and busted in as cops ... or something. Parkman's father had a picture bit of himself from that group shot, also bearing the red "Godsend" symbol across his face.

Matt should have remembered his father was a con man. Duh, Matt. The father gave a story about his own life being in danger and how the group tried to save the world, but some used their powers for evil. (I'm sure he was one of them.)

He too can read minds, so he could block (and hurt) when Matt tried to read his. He told them the power develops further, then offered to show Matt something from "the old days" which might help him.

He led Matt to one room where the doors automatically locked. Nathan tried to rescue him, forcing open a door. Then it was akin to an LSD experiment gone
horribly wrong from that point on.

The door Nathan chose led him to the roof of the DeVeaux building overlooking a destroyed Manhattan. He met up with his mirror monster, who is indeed him. They fought. The mirror monster Nathan said, "You are no hero. You want ignorance! I am you!"

Matt ended up in a jail where the guards spoke gibberish. A baby appeared, then his wife. They argued, then she left. He started fighting with the guard trying to break free.

The fight scenes flipped back and forth between the two places and two people rapidly, then all but melted into one -- Matt and Nathan were fighting in Matt's father's decrepit apartment. When they woke up, it was then they realized they couldn't trust the con man dad. (Duh.) They know why he was "the nightmare." Plus, they have a picture of Bob with the "Godsend" red symbol.

Um. Okay. At least there weren't any Wonder Twins tonight.
