I'm Not Too Keen on American Idol This Year

Nope, not keen on it. However, due to March Madness taking away Survivor tonight, I figured I'd touch on American Idol. I've been watching the performance shows, but missing the results shows until last night when it finally wasn't against Survivor.

The only contestant I really, really like is Crystal Bowersox. I found some of her stuff on YouTube and feel she's the one most likely to succeed. If she doesn't win AI, she'll be recording anyway. I liked Lilly second best of the girls. Sure, she gets voted off! I'm no one to really complain as I don't call to vote. But still!

With the guys, I'm over Andrew Garcia. He's let me down for a good three weeks now. I don't care how touching his backstory is. Heck, at his age I had a much more traumatic history recently behind me. Big Mike is okay, but he just seems a bit full of himself. Kid Aaron has a nice voice. Perhaps if I was fourteen, I'd be all gaga about him. Casey is okay. The one whose actual voice catches my attention is Lee Dewyze.

What do you guys think?

Lost - "Recon"

The show is starting here. As it airs, I'll be jotting some quick notes in this entry. Anyone watching (or who has watched) is welcome to join in down in the comments section.

Huh, sideways Sawyer is a cop? They're just trying to keep me lost! Miles is his buddy detective. Miles set up Sawyer with Charlotte, interesting. They fall into mad passionate lust. Oh, she found clippings that his father killed his wife.

FLocke told his flock that the smoke monster got everyone in the temple. FLocke told Sawyer he himself is the smoke monster. Ohhh, the plot thickens. He's sending Sawyer to do recon on Hydra Island. He wants to fly off with Sawyer in the plane on the island. I doubt that.

Sawyer seems to be at the giant polar bear cages,

Yikes! Claire is attacking Kate! FLocke stopped her. FLocke apologized to Kate, telling her he had told Claire the Others had Aaron.

Sawyer found the plane and the massacre site of its passengers. A women fled from nearby and he caught her. Her name is Zoey -- the plane crashed, she was away from the others, heard screaming, and they were all dead. She dragged their bodies into the pile.

Whoa! Sawyer is captured by Strangers! Maybe like Others, but Strangers (my own moniker for them). Well, welll ... it's Widmore's submarine people. Sawyer told Widmore FLocke sent him. He's trying to make a deal for himself and friends to get off the island. He'll bring FLocke to Widmore in exchange for freedom. Is he lying? I believe so.

FLocke is trying to gain Kate's trust -- before he looked like Locke, he had a crazy mother and if things were different, he wouldn't be like this. Hmmm. He says Aaron has a crazy mother, too.

Sideways Sawyer watches Little House on the Prairie and learns a life lesson about taking each day at a time and love and laughter.

Claire apologized to Kate. Sawyer tells FLocke all about Widmore and his troops. Sawyer tells him also about his "bring FLocke back so they can kill him plan." FLocke appreciates his loyalty.

Sideways Sawyer tells Miles about his father killing his mother, then himself, due to the con by Anthony Cooper. He then captures a fleeing Kate.

On the island, he tells Kate that while FLocke and Widmore are duking it out, he and Kate will escape on the sub. Next week is all about Richard ... about time!

Off Topic - That Was the Week It Was - 03/14/10

It's Sunday morning, time for my weekly off TV topic reflection on the week gone by in words and photos I've taken. Unfortunately, between yesterday's wild weather events and the daylight saving time change, my mind is muddled. I know I wanted to talk about some things which happened earlier in the week.

I vaguely recall that the weather was gorgeous earlier in the week. The temperatures have steadily been above freezing. While I haven't seen any natural flowers (you'll see what I mean by that), I bet there are crocuses up somewhere around here. Unless, of course, they drowned last night.

Entertainment-related newsy items caught my attention this week. Cory Haim died of an accidental overdose. After watching some of the episodes of The Two Corys on A&E last year, I'm not surprised. The kid who was so strikingly handsome in The Lost Boys (a movie I own and enjoy a rewatch of now and again) had turned into a lost man. If he wasn't a childhood television star, he would have been one of the denizens of the night who roam the streets of every town and city in the country, looking for the next high. Very sad, but he reminds me of folks I've known over the years once severe drugs took hold.

The other entertainment news was more surprising -- Louie, the shorter cop in the Louie and Michael team on The Amazing Race, has been taken off the streets while an investigation into a cop-related drug ring is ongoing. Whoa! He's not one of the ones suspended, but he's confined to desk duty for the time being. He never gave me that kind of vibe. Greed, like drugs, can take over people. I hope they find that he's just a bystander or something.

Okay, I mentioned the storm yesterday, right. It actually started Friday night. It wasn't too bad coming home Friday or heading into work yesterday morning. All went kerflooey when I tried to leave last night. ("You can check out, but you can never leave ..." - "Hotel California" by The Eagles.) Now, I left work two hours early as someone offered me a ride to the nearby but oh-so-far train station. Y'see, it's only a ten minute walk. But with rain pouring sideways and up to 75 MPH wind gusts working against me, leaving two hours early just for a two-minute ride was a great idea.

As we approached the train station, a train heading west stopped. "Oh, good! The trains can still get through Bound Brook," I said. Another fear I had had was that flooding in Bound Brook would cancel eastbound trains from Bridgewater. So I went into the little building to await the train I expected in about ten minutes. Other people came. We ohhh-d at the weather raging outside.

NO ANNOUNCEMENTS THROUGH THE SPEAKERS. An hour went by, no trains from either direction. Someone was waiting on the other track to pick up a friend coming in from Newark. One by one, my little group of storm refugees gave up. One finally called her mother to check the New Jersey Transit website. All service suspended on major rail lines ... including my own Raritan Valley Line. Now, the right thing would have been to have announcements made at the stations, don't you think? We had no clue when service would be resumed and were even a bit iffy on the suspension as the mother who looked at the website was vague.

The remaining two people left and I was alone, wondering how I was going to get home and dreading the ten minute walk in the elements back to my workplace. I hung in a bit just in case a train magically appeared. But then it happened ... the huge, I mean HUGE, billboard which touted "Starships don't need keys" burst apart in one spectacular gust of wind, sounding like a giant balloon popping. As debris flew over Route 287, I thought I better get going. Somewhere just beyond the ballpark, a green-tinted explosion lighted up the sky. Then two lamps in the parking lot came down almost simultaneously.

With the wind at my back, poncho going wild, umbrella a lost cause, the weather just about blew me back uphill to work. There's a bus stop about a half-mile from work. I figured I could con someone into getting me to it. Instead, I was offered a ride all the way home. Yay! Ten minutes after she dropped me off, the Plainfield Police shut down my street at the corner. The street wasn't particularly flooded coming from the west to my building, but apparently from the east it was. I listened to my scanner for a good part of the night -- street closures, people stuck in their cars in high water, a lack of barricades, trees down ... on and on.

My power remained on through the night although it must have flickered before I got home because some of my things were flashing 12:00 and the elevator wasn't working. For the first time in the eight years I've lived here, water was coming in my exhaust fan in the kitchen and around my windows -- the sideways rain was heading right into them, was so long-lasting (hours), and intensive (MONSOON).

(ARGH - I interrupt this entry to announce it's once again pouring with thunder and lightning outside. OW OW ... chunks of hail the size of dimes are hitting my windows!) It's sideways once again hitting my windows, this time with thunder so deep it's shaking my building. Wah, wah. At least I don't have to go to work. Bound Brook, between work and me, is under a state of emergency and flooded by the Raritan River. We'll have to see if I can even get there tomorrow. Onto my photos before the power goes out -- they're basically from the most recent back to the beginning of the week, before the Storm of the Century.

Starships wouldn't be sitting ducks

The tatters of the huge "Starships don't need keys" lighted billboard flaps in the high winds last night after obliteration. This giant tri-sided billboard over Route 287 in Bridgewater exploded in the weather. The missing portion is about the length of two, maybe three, complete 18-wheeler tractor trailers nose-to-nose, and maybe five stacked tractor trailers high. It's WAY big and I'm surprised the debris didn't cause crashes on the highway. I had to duck pieces as I retreated from the train station.

Another view

You can see how completely alone I was being blown back to my workplace on foot. Wah, wah! Sniffle, sniffle, curse, curse. Bridgewater Train Station, NJ. There's a major highway between the remains of that huge billboard and me.

Worm Alert!

Yesterday, going into work, these were all over the sidewalks near the Bridgewater Train Station. Yeah, a sign of spring, but I hate playing Tip Toe Through the Worms or suffering worm mush on my boots.

I feel it's raining all over the world

Yep, just like the old song. I took this yesterday on my way to work. The rain was blowing against the plexi-glass shelter on the platform of the Plainfield Train Station. I was hiding in said shelter. You can see the light of my train in the distance. Had I known the later drama, I would have stayed home.

Friday night

This was my arrival home Friday night before all heck broke loose. Plainfield Train Station.

Whistlin' by the graveyard

I edited this shot of the cemetery behind the Friends Meeting House on Watchung Avenue in Plainfield. I left the fence pole in color while the background went black and white. I didn't whistle as I did it, though.

Plainfield Train Station Lamps

Plainfield Train Station Lamps on Drugs

Groovy, dude. I messed with one of the filters on the GIMP photo editor.

Riding on the rim

Can a bike ride on its back wheel rim? Would it squish the rim? Did someone steal the tire? Did someone ride it to the station without a tire? I just don't know. Bridgewater Train Station, NJ.

"There is nothing wrong with your television set ..."

" ... Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity." -- the opening statement of the 1960s show, The Outer Limits. The birds, in their ploy to overthrow mankind, have taken over the airwaves. Eep! North Street in Plainfield.

Oh no! They control mass transportation, too!

Birds overseeing the Plainfield Train Station in New Jersey.

The Supremo Restaurant

I frequently frequent the supermarket itself, but never have been in the restaurant. I edited this photo to only leave the canopy in color. East Front Street, Plainfield.

Who came up with the term "flea" market?

Why would someone even think that something named "flea" could be popular? East Front Street, Plainfield.

Mankind's betrayal

A home on East Front Street figures they'll be safe from the uprising of the birds just because they fed them.

Disappearing by the day

Pay phones all over are vanishing, most likely due to costs and the proliferation of cell phones. Heck, I noticed a hardcore homeless guy I've seen for years chatting on his cell phone. Despite the trend, this bank of pay phones on East Front Street in Plainfield usually have a customer or two. Yes, I messed with the editing of the photo.

The clouds move in

Plainfield Train Station under graying skies.

Into the light

A lamp at the Bridgewater Train Station.

Mobilizing the masses

Eep. The birds are gathering!

Too early!

These flowers were planted by landscapers last week in Bridgewater. This was taken early in the week. Most are dying. Now they're probably just washed into the Raritan River!

Once a 15-foot snowbank blocking my sidewalk

On Tuesday, this was what was left of the snowbank blocking my way to the Bridgewater Train Station. Now, of course, there's no snow left there at all.

Steppin' Out

I don't believe I've ever set MY shoes out on the windowsill! East Second Street, Plainfield.

Sew What?

An antique sewing machine in the window of Luigi's Tailors on Watchung Avenue in Plainfield, NJ.

YWCA

I edited this shot. I love messing with editing! YWCA on East Front Street in Plainfield.

Urban Edited

This is the backside of a building which no longer boasts shipping and receiving. East Fourth Street, Plainfield.

When the weather outside is frightening ...

... Vincent will just curl up and nap.

How was your week?

Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains Blog Party Post 02/11/10

This post will be updated with the major events as they air here on the East Coast. Late tonight, my full review will be posted on TV Squad. But, until then, the real fun is in the comments area right here -- feel free to jump in with your thoughts on the show, everyone is welcome! Survivors ready?

Russell found the hidden idol in his camp. (Well, duh!) Villains win reward -- a chocolate feast at a water hole. James hurt his knee, out of the challenge. Don't know if he'll be pulled from the game.

James came back all splinted up. Nothing broken, but he can't put weight on it either. We'll see.

Villains win Immunity (4 out of 5 now).

Tom voted out. Sigh.

Lost - "Dr. Linus"

The show is starting here. As it airs, I'll be jotting some quick notes in this entry. Anyone watching (or who has watched) is welcome to join in down in the comments section.

Island - Ben is running with Lapidus, Sun, Miles, etc.
Sideways - He's teaching. John Locke is a substitute, telling Ben he should be the principal (Ben should) because he cares more than the actual principal.
Island - Miles did his dead person read for Jacob and told them Linus killed him -- he was standing over hime with a bloody dagger. Eep for Ben!

Sideways - Ben is taking care of his aging father and fussing about his frustration with his career. The father said he signed up for the Dharma Initiative and how would it have been if they stayed? Hmmm.

Island - One or the other Kwon, Sun or Jin, is a candidate to replace Jacob. Ilana says six are left, her job is to protect them. Richard, no longer beaten up, directs Hurley and Jack to the temple. Lapidus told Ben he was supposed to fly Flight 815, but he overslept. Ilana shackled Ben and wants him to dig his own grave for killing Jacob.

When Hurley questioned Richard why he doesn't age, he told him Jacob gave him a gift. He says there are no survivors at the temple.

Sideways - Be thinks the principal is having an illicit affair.

Island - Ben looks worn and defeated as he digs his grave. Richard said something about killing himself after Hurley said he spoke to Jacob. He's into the old dynamite. He says he can't kill himself because Jacob touched him. He said that Jacob had a plan that he would share with him when the time is right, now he has no purpose as Jacob's dead. Jack agreed to help him, started a fuse and then "Let's talk."

Jack is right -- the dynamite keeps fizzling out, FLocke saved Ben. In sideways, Ben is blackmailing the principal. He wants his job. Principal counter blackmails -- he'll trash Alex's educational future.

Now Ben, after a tearful apology and his "I watched Alex die to save the island, I killed Jacob, must go with Locke -- he's the only one who'll have me." Now Ilana says she'll have him. Thunk.

Hurley, Jack, and Richard join the beach crew. Ohhh ... and Widmore's sub spots them and goes on by.

Off Topic - That Was the Week It Was - 03/07/10

It's Sunday, time to take an off TV topic at the week gone by in words and photographs I've taken. While the beginning of the week was still a bit cold and raw here, the sun has actually been out for more than a couple of days. Yesterday and today, we're hitting the 50s. Woohoo! We still have huge snow piles in shopping centers, some of the shaded areas still have snow cover, and some snow clumps are to be found here and there. It's not really spring. However, at this point, if we had a snowstorm, it wouldn't stay around long.

As I've been writing these up weekly, I realize how dull my life is. I spend a lot of time going to work and sleeping. Not enough time sleeping, for sure! Now that the weather is letting up a bit, maybe I'll be more interested in going places and doing things. This has been a winter for hibernation.

Let's see ... what interesting tidbit slice of life happenings have there been this week? Well, I was training a deaf person, giving her tests and such on the computer. I don't sign, but she can read just fine and knows how to use a computer. I found that texting technology on a cell phone is a boon for her. I was writing on a notepad while she texted and held up her phone when she had questions. I also noticed she did the equivalent of reading out loud -- she signed as she read the words on the screen. Interesting.

It's been decades since I spent any time with a deaf person. That was Teddy, a mountain of a man up in Connecticut. He was more verbal than the woman I was training, but hard to understand. He took a liking to me, bringing me newspaper articles about his boxing career in the 1940s. Apparently his deafness was related to his boxing. He started out life hearing just fine. He's probably gone of old age now. But he never would have caught on to texting. I swear his thumbs were the size of a cell-phone keypad.

On another diversity of peoples kind of note, I had one of those probably only in New Jersey or New York City moments on the train one day this week. I had chosen the "ground level" handicapped/bikes section, not the upstairs or downstairs of the double-decker train as I was carrying heavy things. There was a train quasi-friend (someone I've chatted with for a few years, but don't sit with) and strangers in the section.

All in all, we were a United Nations of passengers -- me (white, from the USA), a black man from Nigeria, a young woman raised in Puerto Rico, a woman from Jamaica, a young guy from Newark, a pasty-white young train conductor ... and we had a rip-roaring discussion. Our topic? Ethnic foods our parents and grandparents ate which we find disgusting! From pickled pigs feet to fish heads with the eyeballs to haggis, we all strained to outdo each other with the weirdest food. Perhaps it's one of those "you had to be there" times, but (to me) it was such a fantastic insight to other cultures, yet showing that we share more in common than one would think.

Onto the photos -- clicking on them will open them up larger in a new window.

Oops

The snow has hidden a multitude of sins, the detritus of mankind. Now that it's melting, there are no secrets. I thought one of the lamps had gone missing. But the snow was up over the lamp bases for weeks in this shady area. Murder by snowplow, I assume. Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Guess whose landlord?

Yep, the article on the right is about my landlord once again. If you really want to read it online, here's the link. But, just thinking -- his spokesman said something about they'll be paying February's payment (as agreed to in the bankruptcy) on Monday. Um, Monday is March 8. If I paid my March rent on that date, I'd be slapped with a late fee. I noticed that they all but ran to the bank with my rent I sent this month. I mailed it last Saturday, so they got it Monday (the 1st). The money was out of my account first thing Tuesday morning. Usually it isn't gone until sometime between the third and fifth of each month.

What would foreclosure mean to me? My biggest fear is that I wouldn't be able to get my security deposit back or would have a real legal hassle to do so. I actually think that new owners would want decent tenants to remain. But, if not, I'd have a minimum of 90 days to move. Also, it's possible that conditions and services might deteriorate under a receivership. I'm not as much worried about that as I've been dealing with the current owner ignoring things. I usually fix things in my own apartment anyway (and I'm not a destructive person). I've fixed my own toilet, but don't ask me the name of the parts. I've fixed loose doorknobs. I don't want to move. I hate moving. I like this location. I like my neighborhood. We'll see.

Watching, they're always watching

Two pigeon outposts (in the fight to overthrow mankind) observe the goings on from atop the Plainfield YWCA on East Front Street. Oh, I can think of a spring project -- scrape those window frames and fresh paint!

Man vs. nature

The clouds were great one day, so I viewed them through man's marring of the scenery. East Second Street near Union County College, Plainfield.

Hiding in plain sight

The squirrel on the post thinks I don't see him. East Front Street, Plainfield.

Ahem - car carcass?

Yes, I put the arrow in this one. This is a city lot where buildings were recently razed. What is a half of a car carcass doing in it? No, this isn't the kind of area where stolen stripped cars are all over the place. I believe the car carcass is from one of the two auto repair garages in the area. In the daytime, they park them on the street, too. East Fourth Street and Cleveland, Plainfield.

Sidenote: When I was a child living in the country, abandoned car shells in the woods were amongst our favorite play settings. Rusty springs poking through the seats, broken glass all over ... it's a wonder my generation lived to adulthood.

Today's Spanish lesson

"10 minutos para dar un paseo" means "10 minutes for a walk or stroll." Um. Well. Not sure why they came up with that. Until I looked it up, I thought it was ten minutes to answer some questions and be a part of the US Census. I guess if they said that, it would take up too much white space on the sign! Outside of Everybody's Food Market on East Front Street, Plainfield.

"I'm not talking to YOU!"

It looks like these bird soldiers on a wire are on the outs with each other. Back to back, they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.

Birds of a feather?

You know they're plotting against us when the geese ally with the robins! I found this scene really odd as I've seen the geese chase off deer in this location. When geese chase, they're hilarious -- head and neck down horizontal to the ground and CHARGE! Bridgewater, NJ near the train station.

Payless (who'd want to Paymore?)

I edited this, making the background black and white, posterizing it a bit, while leaving the lighted windows and sign in original condition. I like this store. It's convenient and I have fat feet as well as a budget. They always have a selection of comfortable shoes for wide women feet. East Front Street and Watchung Avenue, Plainfield.

Time, time, time

See what's become of me? Obviously, I messed with the editing of this parking meter shot. I kept the meter as original, posterized the background and messed with its colors. I like experimenting with editing. Church Street in Plainfield, looking at the back of the Post Office and side of Heard One.

Jus' bikes

Again, I played with editing -- black and white posterized backgrounds, bikes in their original colors. I like that effect. Plainfield Train Station.

Stop staring at me, Regis!

Regis and Kelly greet me every morning when I get off the train in Bridgewater at the TD Bank Ball Park, home of the Somerset Patriots.

Plainfield

This is the elevator on Track 2. The orange box you see contains bags of salt. They're at every train station. I'm surprised they don't lock them up. Huh. With budget cuts, they may expect the passengers to maintain the platforms! Notice the trash can is clear -- that's so no bombs can be hidden. (Sure, they'll put the bombs in the unlocked salt bag bins!)

NJ Transit is in financial woes. They've done layoffs, plan a fare hike, plan to have fewer trains and buses, and have cut the company's contribution to their 401K. Even with a fare hike, it will be cheaper than owning and maintaining (and worry about shoveling out, people breaking in, hit and runs, etc.) a car for me. Meanwhile, I got a notice from my company regarding my own 401K last week. Because they had such a good year, they're increasing their contribution to my (and other 401K participants, not JUST me) 401K by 15% for my 2009 earnings. As the kids would say, "WOOT!"

NJ Transit could increase revenue by actually enforcing the $5 surcharge for buying a ticket on the train when machines or a ticket agent are available. Also, some of the conductors DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS. At least once a week, I sit in a car that no conductor bothers to come through. On the whole, most are good. But some of the deadwood needs to be thinned.

Plainfield Train Station again

This time I kept the yellow/black Plainfield sign in color, and just posterized the background a bit while not turning it black and white.

Sepia snow tracks

Another view of the train station. This was earlier this week -- most of that snow is gone now.

Vincent in profile

He caught another mouse. He still stares at the radiator a lot. I have to buy some steel wool and get down there to see where they're coming through. I keep forgetting the steel wool. Who has steel wool other than crack addicts these days?

That's it! How was your weather and week?

Lost - "Sundown"

Okay, now Sayid is in sideways. Argh, I'm not remembering the woman he's seeing with his "niece and nephew" -- married to someone else. His lost love? On the island, the ninja dude told Sayid that the "scale tipped the wrong way" for him in the balance of good and evil. Ninja Dude claims he's good. I don't know anymore. I'm more lost. Because a baseball fell and didn't roll during a huge Ninja/Sayid fight, he told Sayid to leave (when he could have killed him) and never return. Um.

Ohh, Sideways Sayid is being asked to do a hit by his "friend." Sayid claims that he's not that man anymore. Back at the temple he packs and tells Miles he's banished. Miles tells him he (Sayid) was dead for two hours and the people at the temple didn't bring him back.

FLocke (Fake Locke) still has the ever Rousseau growing Claire believing that Aaron is being held in the temple. Claire told Ninja Dude that "he" wants to see him outside the temple (FLocke, I assume). Huh. Now he wants Sayid to stay!

Ninja Dude wants Sayid to kill Jacob's adversary -- he's "evil incarnate." Sayid bumped into Kate in the forest, he told her he didn't know if he's leaving and to ask Miles to bring her up to date. Miles told her that Claire is back.

Uh-oh ... Sayid was approached by FLocke, impales him with a knife and it just don't work. "Why'd you do that?" asks FLocke. FLocke told Sayid that it was all a plot to get him killed. FLocke told Sayid that he could have anything in the world if he delivers a message.

Sayid returns to the temple to tell them "a man" said Jacob is dead and none of them have to stay there any longer. They have until sundown. Or they're dead. Eep.

Whoa -- Sideways Sayid's friend was "mugged" probably by the person he wants Sayid to kill. In the hospital, Jack Sheppard passed by. Ah, it's his brother. She says he pushed her towards the brother, Sayid claims he doesn't deserve her.

Ohh ... Sideways Sayid is picked up by RUFFIANS! Martin Kemey (sp)? Sayid attacks! He kills all three ruffians including sneering Martin. Yikes! The ruffians had Korean speaking no English Jin bound and gagged in another room!

Claire and Kate meet at the temple. Kate tells Claire all about Aaron. Claire doesn't believe her. As Kate is dragged away from the imprisoned Claire, Claire calls out, "He's coming and they can't stop him."

Sayid's message worked -- everyone is leaving the temple. He returns the knife to Ninja Dude and tells him it's twice he tried to have someone else kill him. Ninja Dude tells a tale -- he worked at a bank, too much to drink after a promotion, killed his son in a drunk driving accident. A man came to him in the hospital, told him his son's life would be saved if he came to the island, but he could never see the boy again -- JACOB.

It's sundown, Sayid drowned Ninja Dude. FLocke's jungle effects threaten the temple. Run! Smoke monster! Lapidus and his gun-toting woman save Miles while Kate is trying to save Claire. But, of course, FLocke won't kill Claire. Ben arrives, tries to save Sayid. Sayid says there's no time left for him. Miles tells Sun that Jin is alive.

Sayid walks amongst the carnage with Kate and Claire. FLocke and a flock of followers are outside. They follow FLocke like zombies.
