Big Brother 16: Special REWIND Live Show Blog Party - September 10

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

If nothing else, tonight's show will be all worthwhile just to see Frankie's face as he's told his HoH and PoV wins were all for nothing and they're going to re-do it all!

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news! You already know where the party is -- in the comments. Well? C'mon down and join in on the fun!

Derrick's focus remains on being in the final two. Yet the others are focused on the button. That's what Julie said ... then the segments go off on different topics. Hmm.

Now we're into Derrick's plan for Victoria will act like she's mad at him and won't have his jury vote if she gets evicted. She cries to Frankie about Derrick's betrayal.

Cody gets picked on about his chicken reaction to "the rat." He blushes. When asked about who the sloppiest is, Victoria said it's Caleb and Frankie.

Going into the previous hamster Hollas. And we're in the jury house! They gave him a pink cap for his birthday. Nicole arrives. Ha! They were mocking Christine as she sneaked up behind them! She says it was awkward. Too bad. She told them it was the loudest boo she's ever heard.

They all agree that Derrick has been playing the best game socially and manipulatively, with Frankie being good at comps and manipulation.

Time for the live voting, Julie tells them. Cody gets up to speak, thanks people, loyalty, final four. Victoria -- thanks all, thank you for treating me like a person, Derrick you've betrayed me, never forgive you.

Derrick goes to vote. AN ALARM GOES OFF! Julie tells them ... after commercial. WILL affect everyone's game and perhaps your life in the Big Brother house.

They'll be doing the seed-saw comp again, Derrick can't play, Cody has to go back to the dinosaur costume.

Dan is on. He thinks the same as I do about Derrick.

in the HoH comp, Frankie is in the lead as they went to break. Julie tells us that this week will be supersized. Hmm.  Sunday, jurors surprise visit. Tuesday, eviction, Wednesday eviction, special episode on Friday.

The comp didn't end by show end. I'll put up a separate post for live feed coverage or, if blocked feeds, the winner.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Tuesday overnight into Wednesday - September 10

Caleb builds a better mousetrap

Ho-hum. Izzy the dog added some cuteness for a few hours, but had to be evicted (probably because she was such a threat to their games). Here's the latest from inside that Big Brother House of Warm Fuzzies for a few hours:
  • Apparently Izzy isn't some poor dog they plucked off the streets of Hollywood to make into a star. Izzy is a professional actress with commercials and even some TV series work in her resume.
  • So now we know Izzy was only ACTING like she liked Frankie!
  • Give that doggie an Emmy!
  • I can see why they hired an acting dog, though. To put a dog into a strange environment like that, it would have to be a dog used to the public and predictably behaved.
  • While it would have made good TV for the dog to bite Frankie's face off, it would probably result in a lawsuit.
  • Sigh.
  • Oh well ... biting Frankie's face off would probably make a dog ill anyway. I don't want that.
  • I know. I know. I'm being evil.
  • My apologies.
  • (But I really want Frankie out. NOW Cody is kicking himself for not making the move to do it when the opportunity was handed to him on a silver platter with no repercussions!)
  • In other news: Since someone/something "ate" the cheese out of the mousetrap, Caleb went to great measures to build a new and better mousetrap.
  • He might need a bigger boat to catch a rat (Frankie)!
  • Heehee.
  • I know. I'm being mean again.
  • As I previously mentioned, they're going to be haunted the rest of their days in the house by a rodent who never existed in the first place.
  • Good.
  • They need something to occupy their time.
  • Perhaps the hamsters should just embrace their rodent cousin!
  • Until it EATS THEM IN THEIR SLEEP!
  • Ahem.
  • Can you tell I'm grasping at straws to find something new to report on in this entry?
  • It's been the same-old, same-old ... button worries/anticipation, who should go with whom to the final three/two, how they need to get Frankie out, how clueless Caleb is ...
  • There ya go.

Big Brother 16: Power of Veto Show Blog Party - September 9

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

I hope everyone remembers the show's scheduling has changed to Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 8pm ET/PT!

As tonight's show airs, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest news! As you all know by now, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

Frankie wants Victoria to go. If the noms remain the same, Derrick tells us he'd have to go with Cody staying rather than Victoria because he needs a comp winner at his side.

They're worried because they pushed the button.

After messing with the button, it's time for the veto comp. They're sequestered in separate rooms as they play BB FreakShow one by one. They see freaks -- three hamsters in a mashed-up face. six "acts" and the one completing it the quickest wins.

Cody - 12 min. 14 sec.
Caleb - 8 min. 39 sec.
Victoria - 17 min. 18 sec.
Frankie - 5 min. 54 sec.
Derrick - 6 min. 17 sec.

Frankie wins the Power of Veto (the crowd boos)

No, there is no crowd at the comp. I'm talking us.

They go on a cleaning binge because of Jeff calling them slobs.

Derrick gets the next TA mission. They have to convince the others there's a rodent in the house.

Cody keeps climbing up on chairs. Caleb wants to catch it. Rat Patrol in motion! They keep them up until six. Mission accomplished.

Frankie is going on to himself about his nine comp wins.

The veto meeting (as we saw it on the feeds this time) -- Frankie goes on about wielding so much power. @@

He doesn't use the Power of Veto. The nominations -- Cody and Victoria -- remain.

Tomorrow night -- the rewind, Dan Gheesling and a look at the jury house.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Tuesday - and then there was a dog - September 9

Ding dong, Izzy calling

Yes. As I mentioned this morning they're grasping straws to bring some sort of entertainment on the live feeds.

So we got a dog for the day. Her name is Izzy. She's only there for the day visit. She has treats, toys and instructions. BB takes her out to do her bidness. The backyard is all artificial turf, so she can't do it there! She's not allowed in the pool or on the stairs.

I think she had sensory overload. All of the hamsters are declaring love.

I say Izzy for the win!

Other than that news, same old, same old. Tomorrow better shake things up!

Loving the attention

Derrick has dog treats!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds into Tuesday - September 9

Hey? What's that scrolling marque?

Well, for the most part, this report has the same stuff going on it as the last two. A whole lotta nuthin'!

But ... wait ... there's a scrolling marque on the live feeds page. "Don't miss the debut of Big Brother's first house pet! Tune into the live feeds Tuesday morning to see the Houseguest react to having a dog for the day."

Um. This isn't the first dog in the BB House. Who could forget Pugita, the pug dog? Or how Sloshy Josh (Souza) jumped in the pool to save Pugita? Or the day the house had a whole bunch of pug dogs? Yeah, I'm talking season one.

But I'm sure these "true fans" on the show will remember that. Yeah, right.

In other news, Derrick broke down and talked to Victoria. He told her that his loyalty has to be with Cody for the vote although he really loves her. (Not in that way -- he's talking like a younger sister.) He told Frankie he doesn't want her to look like a fool on television campaigning for votes she can't ever get. Derrick thinks that BB is pressuring her to campaign.

Derrick discussed two different scenarios with Victoria, one which will have her stay, the other gone. Both, of course, advance his own game in the house and with the jury. His master plan has Victoria working everyone his way. We'll see.

What to do? What to do? The hamsters are boring the live feed watchers right to death here!

I've got it!

A PUPPY!

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Monday into the evening - September 8

At least she's not moping

Geez. You can pretty much read my previous report and find out what's happened since. Same as it ever was ...
  • Speculation on the powers of the pushed button
  • A message on the TV screen said "The next live show is in 48 hours."
  • It went unnoticed for a long time.
  • Curiosity about why there's a Wednesday live show when they don't realize there isn't a Thursday live show. They're thinking the finale might have been moved up and Sunday is the finale.
  • Final two and final three "what if" speculation.
  • Get rid of Frankie talk.
  • New is Derrick's wounded finger. He's worried that there's something in the cut or it might be getting infected. The medic will look at it.
  • Oh, don't worry. He'll ignore his finger to try to actually win a comp.
  • Derrick told Cody how important the final veto winner is, more than the HoH even as that winner is the sole vote.
  • Thankfully someone in the house realizes this stuff!
  • Frankie snored.
  • Make him stop.
  • Frankie fussed and whined about dry skin on his face half the day.
  • That is, when he was awake, anyway.
  • Lots of napping.
  • Playing pool.
  • Being in the pool at times.
  • Caleb is still sure that the pressing of the button will bring them riches beyond imagination.
  • Or, something like that.
  • They recorded goodbye messages for Cody and Victoria today.
  • Might not need them this week.
  • I really don't have much more for you.
  • Make Frankie go away.
  • Thank you.

Too much excitement to handle

Something new! Only one cam with BRB!

More excitement!

Derrick wants a medic to look at his finger

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Sunday into Monday - September 8

The hammock didn't need replacement this year

After the excitement of the unexpected way early veto meeting yesterday, we returned to life as we know it in the Big Brother 16 house ... boredom. Here's the latest:
  • They have lots to speculate about -- the button's powers, why the timing of the veto meeting and Christine's boos from the crowd.
  • So, they rehash and speculate over and over again.
  • Yawn.
  • Derrick and Frankie have decided that they should let Victoria feel safe as pushing the button just might keep her in the game.
  • Frankie is sure there will be a live show on Wednesday due to the PoV meeting timing.
  • They had been told that the PoV meeting was a live one-take thing and would be on the live feeds.
  • Derrick kept hinting that he'd be the best one for anyone to take to the final two.
  • He also could win a comp.
  • That would help. He almost won the veto, only 23 seconds behind Frankie.
  • But he's covering all bases.
  • Caleb and Cody went jogging laps around the yard.
  • The big "Beastmode Cowboy" dropped out gasping for air while Cody kept on running.
  • Victoria loves all the Donny hollas. She thinks either he or Zach must be going to win America's Favorite as both of their hollas keep playing -- it must be what the fans want to hear.
  • Caleb again went on with his reasons why he should be America's Favorite.
  • @@
  • Although I've admitted I actually enjoy Post-Amber Caleb, no way is he a fan favorite. America's Doofus (not to be confused with Froot Loop Dingus), perhaps. He's too easily manipulated and too full of himself.
  • Victoria knows her days are dwindling and there's little (no) chance of her making it to the final two with Derrick.
  • Derrick keeps trying to reassure her that whatever the button is might save her and not to give up hope.
  • He also adds in that if she does stay, they need to win comps for them both to get to the final two.
  • Meanwhile, Frankie wants Derrick, his Team America buddy, in the final two with him.
  • Cody wants his fellow Hitman Derrick in the final two with him.
  • Caleb thinks he has the best chance of winning against Derrick in the final two.
  • Ah, that's Derrick's plan all along.
  • Frankie played Sunday Photo Funday all by himself. The others were sleeping. Too bad, so sad. The cheese rat plays alone.
  • Speaking of the rat/mouse/rodent in the house (not Frankie, the "real" supposed one), it didn't go for the bait on their homemade trap.
  • Go figure.
  • Now, since it can't be caught because it doesn't exist, the ghost of the rat will haunt them the rest of the days in the house.
  • Derrick told Caleb that he's glad Frankie kept the nominations the same.
  • They're still going with voting out Victoria.
  • That is, if nothing changes.
  • Caleb is still thinking the button might bring great things -- luxuries, new cars, money.
  • Derrick and Frankie are still more sure it's going to be something perhaps not so good, something game-changing.
  • Frankie thinks that maybe Christine got booed because she was signing (ASL) things about them. He mentioned that BB told her to stop signing.
  • Once again I feel the need to complain about the random shouting and screaming in the house. If they do that at home or in apartments with neighbors, there just could be violence.
  • That's all for now.

Big Brother 16: HoH comp, Nominations Show Blog Blog Party - September 7

Big Brother summer on Make A Gif

Ah, tonight, tonight ... the show is on time here tonight! And we'll have the HoH comp, nominations, the Jeff and Jordan visit and ... will the hamsters push that rewind button?

As the show airs here on the East Coast, I'll update this entry with the major happenings. Refresh the page to get the latest. As is always is, the real party is in the comments area. Come join in on the fun!

They're looking for the button pictured on the memory wall. They find it in the old have not room. The room is all done in red and black "GAME" motif and a marque tells them "The choice is yours."

Lots of discussion about Christine being booed. Cody is super worried he'll get booed as an extension of Christine.

The HoH comp has them doing a farm obstacle course across a shovel seesaw to "plant seeds." The backyard is in a barnyard setting. Caleb and Frankie are neck and neck for the lead. Ack! Caleb's shovel drops seeds and he has to start over! Frankie wins HoH.

Wah.

The plexiglass box is off of the rewind button. "The choice is yours. It only takes one." Derrick seems the most worried about pushing the button. They all push the button. A countdown clock appears with five days and change on it.

The doorbell rings! It's Jeff and Jordan! Jeff comments on how bad the housekeeping is. Jordan thinks they're there to host a luxury comp. But Jeff has other ideas. He tells her they're not there for a competition. What a sweet proposal. She says yes! Both of their families are there. Brett Eldridge is there to sing for them. Beautiful song with a touching montage of clips from their lives and BB days.

Nominations time. They all know Frankie will nominate Victoria. Cody is worried, as he should be. He first nominates Cody, then Victoria. He loves them both. He's sure one will walk away with the veto.

Gag.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Saturday - Sunday, PoV meeting - September 7

End of veto meeting on the live feeds

They know something's up. BB blocked the live feeds with Jeff interviews this morning and we got them back as Cody and Victoria were giving their pleas for the veto to be used. That's not the regular timing for this. Nor do we usually see this on the live feeds. Here's the skinny from inside that Big Brother House of Confusion and Speculation:
  • Not a surprise ... Frankie did NOT use the veto. Had he used it, either Caleb or Derrick would go on the block. He's promised both of them they're safe. And, for now at least, he's keeping the promise.
  • Much of the night was spent on speculation on the button.
  • Now, of course, they're wondering about the times between the button listing Wednesday and the early PoV meeting.
  • They've pretty much decided that there must be two live shows and two evictions this week - Wednesday and Thursday. They think the show will wrap up the next week.
  • They're wrong.
  • Back to the overnight hours and even right at this moment as I type this up -- Caleb, Cody and Derrick are talking about how good Frankie is in all the comps, how he must be trashtalking them for losing to him and how much they HAVE to get him out of the house.
  • Hopefully they'll have the opportunity to fix that a bit on Wednesday.
  • The rodent Team America mission went down.
  • Cody was the funniest, trying to keep up in a chair to the point where the BB voice told him, "Stop climbing."
  • Victoria prepared a concoction to poison the fictitious rat and offered to go on Rat Patrol.
  • Frankie overacted after the fact although he and Derrick did great in setting up the first sighting scenario.
  • They think the target this week is Victoria.
  • I hope that will change.

Off Topic: That Was the Week It Was - September 7, 2014

Good morning! It's Sunday morning and I'm late, I'm late! This is my weekly off television topic reflection on the week gone by in both words and photos I've taken along the way. It's a weekly year 'round staple of this blog -- if you want my Big Brother television show/live feeds blog posts, head to this link right here.

Have I mentioned that I really really need a vacation? Not a go away type one, a staycation for rest and relaxation. That's what I need! And, I will be getting one. It's right over there on the horizon! Yes, this coming Saturday starts my staycation. Woot! Woot! I have a four day work week leading into it which is actually a three day actual working week as I'll be in a meeting in Parsippany (NJ) all day one day. I don't really count that as working although it is indeed work.

This week for me was just about as boring as the hamsters in the Big Brother house ... work, home, rain, sleep, heat, work, humidity, eat ... you get the picture. I swear the only thing relatively interesting that happened is that I got bit by a dog this week. Yep, I was attacked by a Chihuahua. The owner was walking two of them, one dog stopped and was wagging his tail at me. I looked down and said, "Aw, you're a cute doggie."

The owner: "He just wants to be petted. He doesn't bite."
Me: "Okay." I reach down, let the dog sniff the back of my hand, he wags his tail more. I turn my hand over to pet him on the head and WHAM! Bite! The guy who owns the dog actually reacted more than I did! To be honest, it didn't break the skin and was more of a violent nip than a bite. But the owner was in shock and all kinds of apologetic. (As he should be!) I assured him I was fine, no damage done, not even really a mark other than indents on my finger. Not even a scrape or anything. I did advise him not to encourage people to pet his dog, though!

Now, I can encourage people to pet Vincent. The worst he'll do is purr all over and get white cat fur on them.

Onto the photos for the week -- clicking on an image will open the image in my Photobucket where you can make it larger twice by clicking on the magnifying glass you see at the bottom right of the photo. To return to the blog, just X out of the Photobucket page.

Early morning at the Plainfield Train Station

The darkness hangs on longer these mornings as I head off to work on the early train. When it's overcast, it seems a bit like night. However, if not overcast, the sun is rising as I walk to the train station. This shot is looking to the west from the westbound platform.

Early evening at the Plainfield Train Station

The sun was down when I arrived to the train station last night. That's a bit of a shame because it had just shown itself after a day with torrential rain and thunderstorms. Thankfully, the second wave of thunderstorms waited for me to be nice and comfy inside. As long as my power stays on, I love a good thunderstorm! This one is looking to the west from the eastbound platform.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Bulletin - PoV Winner - September 6-7

Grr

There is good news and there is bad news.

The bad news first: Frankie won the PoV comp -- BB Freakshow, sounds like a morphing type ordeal.

The good news: None of his HoH or PoV win matter because they all pushed the rewind button.

Phew!

They need to get him out. I can see them going for the next chance (if there is one). Derrick and Cody are not happy.

Big Brother 16: Live Feeds Friday into Saturday - September 6

How I feel watching them this season

First off --- my apologies. I jumped the gun for the first time ever in the blog by calling the nominations with scant proof. The particular long Jeff interviews feed blockage was NOT the nominations. I'll explain what it was in a moment.

But then the nominations came down later and I was right with my call that it's Cody and Victoria on the block with Victoria the probable target of all (even though Derrick would probably personally prefer to keep her in his own game). I was just wrong about the WHEN on the nominations.
  • The initial Jeff interviews feeds blockage was due to Jeff himself (and Jordan). As promised on the show Thursday, they showed up at the house.
  • Why?
  • So Jeff could propose marriage to Jordan in the backyard complete with champagne and a band and all.
  • Caleb thought the instruments meant they expected him to play/serenade the couple.
  • @@
  • Caleb also thought that they would get to bring the leftover champagne back into the house.
  • He was mistaken.
  • In the house, Jeff reamed them for being slobs.
  • Good.
  • Eventually through the evening, they went on a housecleaning mass effort.
  • The bathroom actually looks good without clutter all over.
  • I'd mock them for being so excited when they found a Swiffer in the storage room, but I'd have to mock myself as well.
  • I love a Swiffer.
  • Seeing the storage room all stocked with goods reminds me of a survivalist shelter of some sort. I could have used a stocked storage room when I was laid up with knee surgery! I still want one.
  • Conversation of Christine getting booed continued to arise now and then. They have come to the conclusion that she played them all and was cruel in Diary Room sessions or the married woman hanging all over Cody or she's just plain a mean person.
  • I must be a mean person, too. I'm kind of enjoying them all worrying about possibly being booed.
  • Heehee.
  • Out of the remaining hamsters, I can only see Frankie being booed. Post-Amber Caleb has been bearable, albeit full of himself and delusions of grandeur. Heck, Caleb has even been entertainment in a house of dullards since Zach and Hayden left. Yeah, I've been staunchly a Derrick fan since the start and think his puppetmaster powers are amazing. But, as for his entertainment value? That's so lacking, dude!
  • They continue to worry and question what pushing the button did/will do to them.
  • They're not close at all to the real answer.
  • They'll find out Wednesday.
  • Donny holla: "Fear the beard, holla!"
  • They want Zach to record more hollas.
  • The hollas have actually slowed down a lot.
  • Holla! I ain't no hollaback girl!

  • The Team America mission chosen (obviously chosen by show only viewers) is to convince them there's a rodent in the house and stay up all night to catch it.
  • Now, the fast would have been more interesting. This one is too much like the neighborhood patrol one.
  • I personally think Team America should have ended when one was voted out.
  • Derrick is scrambling to find a way to save both Cody and Victoria. If he wins veto and takes Cody down, Caleb goes up ... can they get rid of Frankie without Caleb's help?
  • Hmm.
  • Little does he know, the pushing of the button killed this whole week's HoH and nominations anyway.
  • Maybe they can get it right on the second try -- Frankie on the block, Frankie goes home.
  • Lots of small talk.
  • Yawn.
They'll be knocking down my door with offers

Everybody's best F2 partner

Just a joker

Channeling Caleb? Ew.
