I've received several comments saying that football is pre-empting Big Brother in various areas on Thursday night. Now, we KNOW how important this live show will be!
I checked my schedule for the NYC viewing area and it's fine. As usual, I'll post the East Coast Updates as important things happen.
But, I have no clue about other areas. So, what I ask of you folks is to check your local listings for Thursday night. If it's regular time, don't worry. But if it's listed for a different hour, please note it in comments here with the viewing area, station/call letters so folks will know if it's the station they watch and the time you see it listed. Then on Thursday, I'll post a link to this post so folks can check to see if their area is listed. I'll also mention it in entries between now and then. That way, the information will all be gathered here.
If you don't have a hard copy, it's easy to find TV listings online. I recommend going to AOL TV Listings or Google "Yahoo TV Listings" or Zap2It.com -- just input your local information and any cable info... and you're set!

Jackie, Love your blog. I found you last year and had to connect again. Regarding Thursday night's schedule; NFL is preempting BB in the Columbus, Ohio area. BB is scheduled to be shown at 2:07 am Friday.

ReplyDeleteW - That All Stars HG are clearing $2,000 a week with a stipend. It covers all time spent in sequester before the show, in the house and any time in the jury sequester. Before this season it was only $750 a week.

Don't mind me -- I'm just disappointed at how Chill Town is ruling the roost and promising everyone everything all at once. I know it's a game, and I know people are going to play it as dirty as they feel they have to, but I still wish there was some honor among the players. Danielle wasn't very honest overall during her season, but she did stay loyal to Jason, and even this season she didn't cross the Legion of Doom or Erika (though eventually one or the other would have happened). She wanted a team that could eliminate season six, especially Janelle, out, and in the end her teaming strategy was her downfall.
We all have our favorites, and I think season three was one of my favorite seasons, with Danielle being one of my favorite players. It's very disheartening and distressing to read the constant love for Janelle / CT and hate for anyone else. In the end we all have to face that they're all playing a game with the best strategy they know how, so we're not going to see any moral high ground among ANY of the players, especially when one gets backed into a corner. How can you treat one another as human beings if you see each and every person you come in contact with as a competitor and a threat? Chicken George comes the closest, but that could very well be his strategy.
Maybe I'm just one to root for the underdog, the unpopular, the unlinked. During the last Survivor I cheered Terry on as he managed to hang on without an ally; once he was out in the finale, I couldn't bear to watch anymore. My stake in the outcome was gone. How many of you would still be here if the final six were Danielle, Diane, Jase, Marcellas, Chicken George, and Erika? That would be a very different final six appealing to a very different (and perhaps minority) demographic.
I guess that's why it's better for me to stick to "Little House on the Prairie" reruns. Things go badly from time to time, yes, but you're always assured that no matter how tough it gets, the Ingalls-Wilder clan will persevere and show their fellow man love and compassion in the process.
Sorry for being so long-winded, Jackie! I just thought I'd throw my two cents in -- I don't know why other people are drawn to or put off by the show, so I thought I'd share my perspective.

DirecTV Birmingham, AL channel 42 has BB scheduled at its regular time. However, in an earlier blog someone said DirecTV doesn't let us know.

That is so sad....not a Steeler fan...not a late night show fan...but a Big Bro fan...can broadcast crap over night...but not a primetime show....can read a Big Bro blog and most stations across the country are making room for Big Bro to air between a 12a to 2a time slot, after NFL games. Why can not Altoona, a small fish in the pond! 2am Just Shoot Me...230a Up to the Minute. Wow.... there is an hour!!!! But no small minds and who cares what we may want!!!! Guess programmers are home and in bed, use crap to fill in till morning news! Also Thursday night is a HUGE night for house, major happenings, but all us who have watched since the start get the shaft, for sweaty men, who beat the crap out of each other!!!!! Oh I know that answer to that...more Steeler fans than Big Bro fans, ok I concede that, but we are viewers TOO!!!! Same thing happens during Survivor, just play what is missed instead of fillers in the late-night time. That is not too little to ask!!! Thought all would get a KICK out of this!!!!! Thank God for Jackie, but still can not believe will not be aired here!!!!!

thankfully that is, for past 2 years we have had san francisco 49er games pre-empt the show 1 to 2 times during the summer, none this year so far,
also to add a note, football will really only pre-empt you if your in a football market town,
i.e. if you have a football team with in 1 hour of you and they have a game, your mostly likely going to have it on your cbs, luckily for us we have 2 teams(49ers n raiders) and they have sep. channels that are exclusive to showing the games and bb7 airs on 49ers channel cbs
