NEW 2008 Dancing With the Stars Discussion - Part 2

Here's your NEW place to discuss the new season. The official website for the show is located right here. I received comments that there were too many comments on the original post, so spread the word there's a new one!

274 comments:

  1. Misty Mae is off the show. Her achilles must be really bad...

    ReplyDelete
  2. Thanks so much, Jackie. BTW, I loved your write up on AR on TVS. You always make me laugh at least once when I read your blogs.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Thanks Jackie for the new post. It is sad about Misty, but I'm REALLY going to miss Maxs...hehehe.

    Does this mean no elimination this week?? Ugh!! That would mean another week of Cloris Leachman! ;{

becky--I would love to have you on my Survivor team. We "old ladies" need to stick together and root for the old lady left on the show---Susie Smith.

Well, this day just flew by....I need to go get something done around the house!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Thanks Jackie, your too good to us.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm not overly crushed about Misty, but Maksssssss! This might cause him to give up on the show again.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Dresses/costumes are HORRIBLE

    ReplyDelete
  7. There's been a few errors tonight, but I'm seeing improvement in all of them. I'm still hoping that Cloris goes home tomorrow.
She's not so funny, any more.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm glad to see Rocco get a little break tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Warren is sure light on his feet for a big guy...

    ReplyDelete
  10. RealityTVWorld is saying that Derek Hough also had an injury this week He fell over something while walking backwards and slammed his head on the floor. He was knocked out for a bit. Then he was checked out at a hospital and is okay. I apologize if this was already mentioned on the show. I missed the first ten minutes of it. This is quite the season for injuries, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  11. This season is lacking in star power. Nobody seems to be really popping off the screen.

And now we lost Maks... (sniffle)

I'm hoping for a guest appearance by Benji Schwimmer at some point.

Is Cloris doing the Jive or the Waltz? Oh, I hope it's the Jive :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Joyn, isn't this about the third or fourth time that Derek has been injured or sick? Didn't he go to the ER a few times last season?

Speaking of star power, they should just turn the stage over to Julianne for 2 hours. (But not liking that hair.)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree, Clementine, with the no stand outs. Most have moments of brillance, then go back to blah!

I just wish Rocco would get with it, because I like him from his show about opening a restaurant. HAHA

Other than that no favs...just "AnyoneButCloris" !!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Clementine, yes, I remember him going to the hospital at least once last season. (I only watched about a third of that season.) Accident prone?

I'm not crazy about the new haircuts, either.

And I'm not exactly thrilled over these competitors, myself.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thanks, Jackie! I will be back West Coast time to add my two cents. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I have to agree with Glen on Toni's dance and I absolutely hated her dress.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wont miss Misty May at all, but Maks on the other hand...supremeo eye candy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. After all the practice on the handstand, they did not even use it. The dress did nada for me! Toni that is...

I do not know if I can watch Cloris again...pls send her home!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Alas, yes, Maks will be sorely missed.......sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hope Cloris is doing the jive because there's no way she'd do it any justice. Give us justice and send her home. It is the jive.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Life on Mars comes from a good pedigree and has a really good cast, guess will have to tivo all ABC shows on Thursday...

NONONONO not Cloris my eyes are burning.....

    ReplyDelete
  22. That was hilarious. I'm laughing at Cloris but more at my mother laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Cloris flipped her wig!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, she brought out that old ballroom classic, The Wheelbarrow!

Sorry, I was cringing and laughing at the same time, but I did find it amusing.

    And "poor Corky" is right!

    ReplyDelete
  25. So glad she is a comic or that would have just been pathetic...and I know she knows she is out of her comfort zone...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ah, there was a method to the madness. The wig was supposed to come off to show the "vote for me" skullcap! To get another laugh.

Cloris always seems genuinely upset at these scores. Doesn't she realize how terrible she is?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Brooke and Derek are still my favorites, but man was he tough on her during rehearsal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Derek and Brooke are still my faves.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nana in the NW said... becky--I would love to have you on my Survivor team. We "old ladies" need to stick together and root for the old lady left on the show---Susie Smith.

Thank you, Nana. I would love to be on your team. Laurie, thank you for your offer too. I agree with Nana. We old ladies need to stick together and support the other old lady.

I thought Susan (Tony) was a bit clumsy, but then they said she had hurt her ankle in practice. One of these days she is going to pop out of the top of her dress.

Maurice/Cheryl were very good. I loved their costumes.

Lance/Lacey were better, but I still don't care for them for some reason. Talk about "left handed compliments" -- Len is a bit hard on them. They really did try and do the traditional style. Loved the old folks. They were a hoot.

Rocko/Karina were better. Bruno was full of it IMHO.

Warren/Kym - excellent! He is very graceful for such a large man. I think it is something that every football player (or the three I remember, Jerry, Emmet and Warren are all very good). I guess because they have to be so fast on their feet in the game.

Cody/Juliann - he is such a cute kid. Juliann is darling and very, very talented. I enjoyed their performance, even if it didn't go over that well with the judges.

Toni/Alex were not as good this week and they have been. I think Len was right on when he said, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it".

Cloris/Corky - it's time for her to leave. I admire what she can do for someone her age, but it is time for her to leave the building.

Brook/Derek were excellent again. She is incredible. He is as talented as his sister. This was a beautiful dance.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Aww, Brooke's mom was crying!

BTW, looked up Derek's injuries, and he went to the ER twice last season (hurt his neck in rehearsals and had food poisoning)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Misty is a class act. I hope that this injury doesn't end her volleyball career. How sad!

I feel for her and for all of us for missing out on more Maks each week. :(

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hmm... what do we think of Life on Mars? Looks interesting. (Ugh, I can't take on another tv show, somebody stop me!)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Good, Misty can spend time with her husband. Hope her surgery goes well.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Aww, Maks, come here and let me give you a hug, baby!

The world does need more Maksim!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Life On Mars is looking good to me, too. These producers have a great track record. NYPD Blue was one of my all-time favorites. Have to work it around Survivor and Dexter.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's hard to believe that first 10 of the season came from Len, but glad that Brooke and Derek got it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Joyn, off topic, glad you came back to us. I missed you :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow! thanks, Clementine.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't know if I read it here, or somewhere else, but I've heard that Warren is kind of a jerk behind the scenes. If that's true, I don't want to cheer him on. . . But he is good.

    Cody & Juliann were cute.

How in the world do those girls dance in those heels?? I can't even walk in them, let along dance! I would think that they have to be slick on the bottom in order to do some of those steps, but if that's the case, how can they stick them when they need to? Wouldn't their feet slide out from under them?

    ReplyDelete
  40. pdx--That's so funny you commented about being able to dance in those heels. I said the same thing to my husband during the show!

I think I can answer a few of your questions about the dance shoes. The bottom of the shoe has dance leather on it. Alot of dance shoes only have the leather on the front half of the shoe. It is designed to slide on the floor so the shoe doesn't stick. However, you are able to stop yourself when needed for certain moves. Many dance floors get very sticky if the room is humid or hot.

I only know this from my line dancing. We do many turns and shuffles and dance shoes are the only way to keep from twisting a knee or ankle. I actually took a pair of my tennis shoes, had the bottom sanded off and dance leather put on. They are the most comfortable shoe I own.

Brooke/Derek were really good. I hope the voters keep them around for the finals.

Susan still hasn't impressed me. I think she has done so much Pilates and Yoga that have gentle flowing moves that she never looks sharp.

Warren is good for a large man. I had read that he was a jerk too, but he is a good dancer.

Cloris is not even that funny anymore. I am almost embarassed for her!
She should be gone but I think it might be Toni Braxton this week.

BTW--joyn, I'm glad your back with us regularly, too! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Because of Maks and Misty having to leave, I bet no one goes home and they combine last nights votes with next weeks votes to see who goes. Toni has a chance if she does good next week

    Cloris neesd to go

Count me in as another drooler who is sad Maks is gone

    ReplyDelete
  42. Good morning all. Overall I was not impressed with last night's show. This season of contestants do not compare imo with the talent of the last couple of seasons. Yes, Brooke is definitely the best out of this bunch, but if she had been up against Mel B., Mario Lopez, or Kristy Yamaguchi to name a few, she would not be the top scorer. By this time in the show the last couple of seasons, 10s were already flying around and nobody was scoring under 20! I have high hopes for Brooke, Toni, Lance and surprisinging Warren, but the rest can go home anytime.

Maks - I miss you already sweety!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Morning everyone.....gosh I too hope Cloris goes home tonight..I cant imagine them not having an elimination.
Its sad about Maks leaving, oops, I mean Misty, she really did try hard. I heard her say after the Olympic golds that she wanted to go home and make a baby, well since she will be off her feet so to speak maybe this will happen!
I agree Brooke is the best, I enjoy Rocco so much Ihope he doesnt go.
My long time attachment to All My Children makes me root for Susan but I dont really think she is doing all that well.
Cloris needs to bow out...its not funny anymore

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey nana -- left you a message back on the post with the yellow flowers.

Thanks Jackie for the chat room. I am still waaay behind on the tivo'd eps. Just watched the third or fourth show, and was surprised how harsh some of the judges were to several contestants, and yet so easy on the Susan Lucci's of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  45. As to the comment about it lacking star power... I like Julianne and Derek and watch them for their choreography and excellence (and attractiveness and perfection! lol) as much as any of the stars anymore.

I do like Maurice and look forward to seeing what he can do as things get harder.

Rocco, who was such a jerk on his first reality show has somehow slimmed down while eating humble pie in the interim to become a surprise romeo with the moves and his attitude on this show. I'm pulling for him...

I've loved Cloris's antics, but it was nice to see her try to get more serious about the rehearsals by the Pas a Doble.

I am not sad to see Misty go, I thought she was too hulking in her dances, and would not make it to the end, but would go at least to the middle of the show. As an athlete, that achilles injury is about the worst you can get.

I like watching Brooke but by starting out so good, you don't really get to enjoy seeing any improvement as the weeks go by, so I have no real attachment to her in this contest.

    ReplyDelete
  46. uh oh, better catch up,,, I guess the consensus is Cloris's comedy is wearing.

I like Lance btw.... are they conforming more to ballroom now?????? hope so so he can stay in.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Definitely think Brooke/Derek are the couple to beat now. Lance/Lacey, Warren/Kym & possibly Maurice/Cheryl could give them a run for their money further down the season. At least I hope so, otherwise we'll have a real boring road to the end.

I'm sad to see Misty go the way she did. We all know she wasn't going to win, but to leave with such a serious injury really makes me feel bad for her. Both Misty & Maks are so competitive, that this must have been really rough on them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh, and I agree with those talking about the star power of Julianne & Derek. They really are the standouts of the show and their dances are always so beautiful and graceful to watch.

Most of the time I wish they'd let Julianne sing on the results show instead of the lame talent they usually have (yeah Jessica Simpson, I'm talking about you and your microphone eating performance).

    ReplyDelete
  49. My theory on if there will be an elimation tonight or not. If Cloris is the one - the yes. If it is anybody but Cloris then no elimation this week. I really enjoyed Warren and Kim. They floated around the dance floor like the Vien.. Waltz should.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks, nana, I missed you guys, too.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I agree that Julianne and Derek are wonderfully graceful dancers.

Also agree that Julianne's voice is very good and should be used on this show.

Caroline, I'm still cracking up over your Jessica Simpson comment. LOL!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm trying to remember what they did when Sarah Evans (was it?) left the show mid-stream. Didn't they have a non-elimination week?

I think that will happen tonight. If not, Cloris or Susan Lucci should go home this week. The problem with Susan is her fan base. That can keep a dancer in the competition for a lonnnng time (Sanjaya).

    ReplyDelete
  53. Not that Sanjaya was on Dancing, but sort of the same with AI.

    ReplyDelete
  54. There are rumors Kim Kardashin is back in LA talking to the producers of DWTS...possible replacemt for Misty?

I don't think so. When Sara Evans left they didn't bring someone back to fill her spot. I bet this will not be an elmination night.

After all they do have a certain number of weeks to fill.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh Monty....great minds think alike!! LOL

I agree about letting Julieanne sing and please forget Jessica Simpson!

Susan Lucci will be around for awhile because most of the people who vote are also ones who have/still do watch All My Children.
I would think she has one of the biggest fan bases of all the contestants....too bad because she's not very good.

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL, nana! I can't count the times I've been typing something and it shows up the same as another blogger. One thing is for sure... several of us DO think alike and when we don't, we handle ourselves well and don't get into flaming.

That's what makes Jackie's little pad so cool! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oops! The results show is on at 8 instead of 9 tonight!!

    Is anybody else watching?

Maks and Edyta are amazing dancers! But I never want to see beautiful Maks in that costume again! Oh, my eyes! lol

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yea! Kool and the Gang! ~~Celebration~~

Brooke is the first one safe, and Cloris is second. (Guessing there's not an elimination tonight). Maurice is third.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Cloris was telling some story backstage that totally confused Samantha. Although most things confuse Samantha.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a Rockette! Heck, I still do! The overhead cam shot with the shadow dancing was cool, but nothing beats that double kick line!

And if you all think I'll get tired of talking to myself here, you're wrong.

    Isn't that right, Clementine?

Why, yes, we all know you have no shame, Clementine.

Good thing your comments are so endlessly witty and fascinating, Clementine!

Why, thank you, I'm blushing ((**))

Oh, Jennifer Hudson singing with Derek and Julianne dancing! The entertainment is slightly above average tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Clementine said...Oops! The results show is on at 8 instead of 9 tonight!! Is anybody else watching?

Clementine, I am! I can't believe Cloris is still there. A better (heck, I AM better) dancer will go home because of it.

The only time I remember seeing any dancer that bad who stayed on long past when he should have gone home was that rapper. Can't remember his name. I do remember Len saying to him at one of the elvauations, "it is time for you to go home".

    Juliann and Derek were wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hooray! Becky's here! Was that Master P? Speaking of which I want Ashly to come back... I think that was her in one of the spotlight dances on the results show a few weeks ago. I know she had a baby, but I want her to come back already!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Becky. I can't remember his name either, P something or something P. He never wanted to put on dancing shoes.

Caroline, your show is very entertaining. Bravo! Encore!

    ReplyDelete
  63. There's Derek's head injury.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Warren and Toni are safe.

This is really going to tick me off, if they say no one gets the boot. They should just admit it up front. Surely, the could throw in a few more pro dances to fill the time!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think DWTS actually believes it'll be a nice surprise for us that no one gets voted off tonight.

I can't fathom another week of Cloris' worsening humor. WHAT was that story (?) she was muddling thru earlier?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Okay, nobody's going home, but they will reveal the team with the lowest number of votes... both weeks scores will be combined next week...

And the team getting a second chance is (drumroll, please)...

    Rocco and Karina

    ReplyDelete
  67. Cloris again was not on the bottom. Rocco and Corina were. Unbelievable!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Clementine said... Hooray! Becky's here! Was that Master P?

joy n said... Becky. I can't remember his name either, P something or something P. He never wanted to put on dancing shoes.

I don't know why I am thinking Mister P Diddly or something like that.

They just announced that no one is going home. Like, they couldn't tell us at the beginning of the show!

I think that Cloris or Susan should have gone home. I think it is sad when popular votes mean more than ability votes.

Oh, well, as I said in an earlier post, I'm not a great dancer myself.

    ReplyDelete
  69. No one leaves tonight. R & C have to step it up. Cloris needs to go!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Becky, Clementine was right. His name was Master P.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Cloris is beginning to be an embarrassment.

Really sad to see Maks go but know he'll be doing some of the Pro dances as he did tonight with Edyta.

Loved the rockets.. like Julianne and Derek dancing together..saw a video of Julianne singing one of her songs and Derek came in and did a duet with her. It was pretty good.

[[[ZOTAWNY]]] [[[NANA IN NW]]] [[[SHARON]]] [[[WHOEVER NEEDS A HUG]]]

Laurie, I know you've taken some hits about your trip to Chicago, so I might as well add to them... Call Gayle ahead of time and let her know where you're going to be at all times, in case she needs to step in. Oh...and also enjoy your trip!

    ReplyDelete
  72. MEB I'll be taking some of that hugging!
So there wont be anyone let go tonight?
    yikes, Cloris lucked out
and this whole repeat of last night egad!

.....my son Steve leaves next tuesday for Kuwait then on to Iraq for a year...no matter your feelings about the war, please pray for our troops

    ReplyDelete
  73. The show didn't start until 10:00 here on the West Coast - or at least in Portland. :(

Nana, thanks for you explanation about the shoes. I kinda figured it was something like that. My daughter was on the dance team all thru high school and I bought my fair share of dance shoes - only none had heels like they have on this show! Thank God!! Otherwise I would have been paying more for doctors visits than I already did!

Clem, I hope you enjoyed talking to yourself as much as I enjoyed witnessing it.

Terry, I know how tough it is having to send your son off. I remember when my husband of less than a year went to Nam. Knowing the country is supporting them with good thoughts and prayer must be a comfort. I'll say a special prayer for Steve.

    ReplyDelete
  74. terry in ca... Steve and all our troops remain in my prayers. You really do need some hugs don't you!

I think they pick on Julianne and her partner (name). I thought he really did pretty good. She's so good, it may be that she's making him look good, but so be it.

Maks was so sad about leaving the competition. I agree tho, please don't wear that outfit again!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yay! Julianne & Derek were fantastic together. Definitely made my evening. I also really enjoyed Maks & Edyta...makes me wonder how Misty would have done with that dance. Looked very tough...if she had pulled it off she might have gotten some nice scores.

I'm in agreement that it's Cloris' time to go. I can't believe she wasn't in the bottom. It almost makes me want to vote for Rocco/Karina but I'm gonna stay loyal and keep all my votes with Julianne.

Overall the results show entertainment was much better. I'll take Kool & the Gang and Jennifer Hudson over Jessica Simpson anyday.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Good morning all. I had to attend a wake last night, so I missed the show. My daughter called me and tricked me into believing that Lance and Lacey (my favorites) were eliminated! She's such a rotten child, LOL. So I was glad to hear no one went home. I too am surprised Cloris wasn't in the bottom. It stopped being funny a while ago already, its time to go.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Well, no surprises last night. No one was eliminated which means another week of Cloris!! UGH!!

Jennifer Hudson is a great singer. I loved her in Dreamgirls and always enjoy listening to her.

I loved watching Julianne/Derek. They are so precise together. No wonder they were championship as pairs- teenagers.

I don't know how Misty would have done that dance, either. I wonder if Max/Edyta amped it up on tricks for last night?

Here is my best of list:

    Brooke
    Lance
    Warren
    Toni
    Maurice
    Cody
    Susan
    Rocco
    Cloris

terry-so sorry your son is being deployed. Is this his first time? No matter your views on the war we must always must our young men and women over there.

    Off to school.....

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree with your list Nana. I don't know if I can stand to watch another Cloris performance. Corky is a saint though. I hope he gets to come back next season with a better partner.

Terry - I will add your son to my prayers. Wow, my list is growing so long that I'll be on my knees for a very long time tonight, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  79. well, I'm glad Rocco gets to stay. I think the judges are entirely too hard on him and Lance too easy on dancers like Susan Lucci.

After reading comments about Cloris, I watched the last ep and wasn't that tired of her. Guess voters aren't, as she's in for another week.

A lot of accidents this year.... I am amazed that Derek has cracked his head twice. I mean, if he's such a pro, why is that? Maybe because of his youthful exuberance, he snaps his kicks, whips his head, and twists his hips far more than the other pro guys.

    ReplyDelete
  80. PS: Nana I agree that watching derek and Julianne is perfection. And I can't imagine Misty would have done that exact dance that edtya did. I know she has a great bod and always has the skimpiest outfit on, but I just hated those, whatever, leg chaps that went with her outfit!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I agree med, I like Julianne and her partner too- meant to add his name to the list of who the judges pick on.

Terry, just read about your son. I can't imagine how hard that must be, but we are all grateful to him for his service, and to all the troops and their families for their courage and devotion.

Now if only we could get candidates that could put some order back into this country, and it's place in the world

    ReplyDelete
  82. Vote for the Worst has CLORKY as their pick. Hopefully they get out numbered next week and Clorky goes home. I do love the name though.
    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  83. I just lost my post (duplication action error?) Oh, well, I didn't have much to say. Just, I'm here! Is anybody else watching?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Cheryl and Maurice were mildly entertaining. But it seems to me, when Cheryl thinks she has a chance to win (like with Drew), she puts a lot more energy into it. When she has a so-so partner, she looks bored.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Well, I guess I'm talking to myself tonight.

Cloris was good. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the more boring people go before her.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Cloris actually did a good job tonight, especially for Cloris. I do get tired of her comments.

I just can't get into Susan's dancing. I thought others were much better.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Final 3 will be: Brooke, Lance and Warren

I wish we could skip ahead a few weeks, because this is really the most boring season yet.

Becky, I agree with you about Susan. She always looks uncomfortable to me.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oh, and did any SYTYCD fans recognize the song that Brooke/Derek used (Hip-hip, Chin-chin) as the song that Lacey and Danny danced to in the finals? Love that song!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Darn, Darn, Darn....
missed "CLORKY"....my son got hurt at work ...just got him home & settled...Well, except him calling "MOM" everytime I sit down...
hurt his leg & is propped up & covered with icebags from him to ankle.
I guess this retired nurse just came out of retirement!!

Clementine it does seem as though you have been talking to yourself:)

    ReplyDelete
  90. I was 1/2 watching. I agree none really thrill me. I do not want Rocco to go over Cloris, but I think it will be that way.

I agree the final 3 will probably be Brooke-Lance-Warren. That is if no one gets hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I agree that Cloris did pretty good tonight. I'm over Rocco, so he can go. I really think that its Karina who isn't getting the votes, so Rocco is doomed.

Susan Lucci needs to go home. She really is stiff as a board!

Took me forever to figure out who Clorky is. I'm not TOO slow.

Lance and Lacy did another good dance. I think they should be in the final three.

Warren does a lot of 1-2-3 steps in his dances,(don't know what that's called in dancing) which makes him look smooth, but I'm not really that impressed with him. I think Cody does a better job than him, but then Cody is partnered with Jualianne, so that has a lot to do with it!

Derek and Brooke are great, but Derek needs to calm down off the dance floor. No wonder he gets hurt so often.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Good morning all.

Yes Clementine I totally remember Danny & Lacey doing a samba to that song. When the song started I said "hey that's Lacey's song!" Brooke and Derek did the song justice though. This was the first time I actually thought Brooke was exceptionally good. I have always thought she was the best of this bunch, but that didn't take much with this bunch. I think she is very much comfortable in her body and with her sexiness and it shows in how she moves. Toni Braxton has a great body and should be just as good, but I think she is a bit repressed.

Poor Rocco, he tries so damn hard, but he truly has zero rhythm or I should say musicality, which the judges prefer to use. He is just not gonna get any better and needs to go.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I don't think I'll ever understand the judges scoring. While Cloris was at her best last night, I really don't think she was better than Maurice. And I thought Warren did more than gyrate as Kym danced around him. Argh! As far as the new dances go for next week, the hustle--really? Haven't we all done that drunk at a wedding reception whether it is called the hustle or the electric slide?

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm actually looking forward to seeing some new dances. This won't be the "Electric Slide" type of hustle. Back in my disco dancing days, the hustle was a partner dance with a lot of different lifts.

If Lacey & Lance get to do West Coast Swing, they are gonna kill the competition. That is her speciality.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I want the "Chicken Dance"...now that would be a HOOT.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'm with you delee... the chicken dance should be next. I was at a wedding where someone pulled me on the floor during that number and I had a ball... never left the dance floor after that. Oh the good old days... wait... that ws last year. Smile.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Uhh... seven hot Spanish brothers dancing the flamenco? Can they come back again next week? Please?

The mock-political ads are pretty funny tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Unbelievable! Cloris is still there! One good, not great, dance and she's still there. Rocco wasn't all that great, but he was better than Cloris. Something stinks here. What a lousy season.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Rocco is gone??? say it isnt so!
Cloris is a joke, a comedy, not a dancer...

    ReplyDelete
  100. Haven't seen tonight's show but it sounds like Rocco is gone--oh well. Susan still hasn't impressed me and Toni better loosen up if she is going to stay. It's reached a point in the comp. that the bad dancers are gone(except Cloris) so the OK dancers have to really step up to stick around.

As for the music....I thought DWTS people pick the music not the professionals. I remember once seeing them be handed an envelope with what song and dance they were going to do.....hmmmmmmm.

The song Warren/Kym danced to(Gotta Hitch) I just learned a line dance to!! It was the hardest dance I've ever learned but I love it!

Maurice is too cocky for me. He just always seem full of himself.

Cody is a cute kid, but I feel sorry for JulieAnne. I think sometimes she probably feels like she's babysitting a kid with ADD.

    Later....

    ReplyDelete
  101. (((Nana))) I know these are sad times, Ive been praying for you..

    ReplyDelete
  102. All new dances tonight....YAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I know Nana, I'm excited to see some new dances too. I really hope Lance & Lacey get West Coast Swing - that's her specialty. They should kill the competition if they pull that dance.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Lacey seemed to make the dance all about her tonight.

That was the most boring Hustle I have ever seen. Lucci is highly over-rated on this show.

    ReplyDelete
  105. oh Joy N say it isnt so! Susan didnt shine again? A shame, I love AMC but I dont vote for them because of that, the better dancer has to get my votes.
cant wait to see for myself....Im lovin Brooke and Lance for the dance!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Cloris coming up with the Salsa. I'm almost afraid to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Some really good ones tonight. Cloris was pretty good again this week. I agree with the judges regarding Lacey and Lance this week. It seemed to be all about her. Susan didn't impress me much again this week. I agree with which ever judge said she seems like she is dancing in a bubble. Kym and Warren were excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  108. God bless ya, Cloris, but it's time to go home. She's GOOD for an 82 year old woman. She's not good for this competition.

7-7-7? She's not worthy of the same score that Lacey and Lance received.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I would like to clarify my "Cloris was pretty good tonight" statement. She was pretty good -- for Cloris.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I would like to clarify my "Cloris was pretty good tonight" statement. She was pretty good -- for Cloris.

Okay, I am going to try a THIRD time to get this posted.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Warren did well tonight. Maurice surprised me at how well he did.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I figured that was what you meant, Becky.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Tonight's the first time I liked Maurice. And not only his dance, but for his personality. Not every man would take that kind of negativity from Cheryl without blasting back. I think she was more concerned with how she was going to look dancing outside of her expertise than anything else.

Hmm... does Carrie Ann like Maurice much? Er, slightly inappropriate for the judges to rub themselves on the contestants, no?

    ReplyDelete
  114. If Brook and Derek don't get 10's for that fantastic jitterbug they just did, I'm gonna write letters......or something.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Well, at least they got two tens. Nasty old what's-his-name gave them a nine.

And, yes, Carrie Ann was a bit much in her congrats.

    ReplyDelete
  116. joy n said... If Brook and Derek don't get 10's for that fantastic jitterbug they just did, I'm gonna write letters......or something.

They were terrific. When he said he had never done the jitterbug I thought oh, boy, he's in trouble. One would swear he had been doing it for years.

Anyone else having trouble getting their posts to "take"?

    ReplyDelete
  117. I missed the first two dancers so I can't comment. Also missed Susan Lucci but I'm sure it was as you have said on here. I loved Warren once again, and I loved Clorky. I know they are not long for this competition but I always get a kick out of their routines. Just me though!

Derek and Brooke just light up the floor and the ballroom when they dance. Another awesome performance. I think this is her competition to lose. Warren and Lance are my other two favs.

I love the new dances... just sad I missed the swing. :(

    ReplyDelete
  118. Not so far tonight, Becky, but some nights.....grrrr!

    Must be your turn. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Cody and Julianne did very well with their jitterbug, too.

Julianne's outfit is authentic right down to her underwear.

    ReplyDelete
  120. The jitterbug is a welcome change for this competition. It doesn't hurt that they gave the bro/sis this dance. Julianne and Cody were as awesome as Brooke and Derek... and the hair, LOL!

    I loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  121. 10-9-9 is a great score.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Wouldn't it be something if it came down to Derek & Brooke and Julianne & Cody in the end?

    ReplyDelete
  123. i just love you guys!!! Although I can't see the show for another hour+ reading your comments makes me excited!!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Starts out a bit slow, but all in all, a very enjoyable show, Nana. Loved the music as much as the dancing.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm with you, Nana! I don't like to read the results ahead of time, but I like reading all the other comments. It gives me an idea of which to watch closely, and which to "watch" while I' doing something else.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I thought Warren and Kym did a great job, better than the scores they received.

I loved Bruno telling Tony to quit treating Lucci as a china doll and grab her and make her do something and then the other two judges agreed!

Derek and Brooke were excellent but so were Julianne and Cody.

    Cloris did a credible job.

Maurice did pretty good tonight, but I think it was a one shot thing.

Lacey got her come-uppance and good: she should have. She's a good dancer, but like they said, she should be showing off her partner. She's young, so I'll give her this one time to shape up before I write her off my list as a possible third place favorite.

I can't remember anyone else... but then, I guess I've said enough.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I could have lived without seeing Corky grab Cloris' boobs again tonight.

Vegas odds are saying Toni will leave tonight. They better be wrong. Cloris has got to go.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Judge Len just said he "could NOT give a ten to a jitterbug. It would be like giving an Oscar to Mickey the Mouse." Then he shouldn't be judging.

Good, he's gonna be gone for two weeks. Maybe the replacement judge won't be as grouchy.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Unbelievable! Those saved so far...

    Warren and Kym

    Cloris and Corky!

This is turning into a very bad joke.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Well, since it will not be Clorky, I say Susan should go but it very well could be Toni. Susan doesn't deserve to stay longer than Toni...

    ReplyDelete
  131. you are kidding me! Cloris is saved again? this is getting to be like when Master P slushed thru all the dances and kept on because of votes....
Toni & Susan are pretty much even I think.....

    ReplyDelete
  132. I agree with you, Monty. Susan is second to the bottom and should go since Cloris isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Those kids were incredible! I wish I had half that talent at such a young age. I liked the jive duo the best.

And Brian Setzer looks old! lol Guess it happens to the best of us.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Now there's a kid going thru puberty! That was testosterone speaking.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I really enjoyed the kids and Brian tonight. I still have my old Stray Cats albums. Makes me want to get them out for a spin.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Oh, no! I walked away and missed which kid couple went through to finals? Who was it? And what did he say, Joyn? (I could only imagine, lol)

    ReplyDelete
  137. The Macy's acts have also been wonderful this season. I don't remember the Tuesday shows being this good the past few seasons. Keep it up ABC and DWTS.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Clem, Mitchell and Maria won. (Bolero)

When they asked Mitchell which dancer he would like to partner with, he said almost dreamily, Julianne.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Clem, Mitchell and Maria won. (Bolero)

When they asked Mitchell which dancer he would like to partner with, he said almost dreamily, Julianne.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Thanks, Joy! And she's probably less than 10 yrs older than him, so if he can just be patient... :)

Monty: I was just thinking the EXACT same thing about the quality of the results show this year. Maybe they were losing viewers? It's much better than a lot of the filler they used to show.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Okay, I hope Susan goes. Just can't get into her dancing.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Also safe...

    Cody and Julianne

    Maurice and Cheryl

    ReplyDelete
  143. But I do like that copper hair color that Susan is sporting this week. Very metallic. Looks good under the lights.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Awww... Susan's fan base is strong.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Brooke and Derek safe

    Lance and Lacey

    Bottom two...

    Toni and Alec

    Susan and Tony

Toni and Alec are going home.

    Vegas was right.

Should have been Cloris or Susan.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Toni and Alec gone.

Yeah, I wonder if Susan was even in the bottom 2 of votes?

    ReplyDelete
  147. Nite all... see you Thursday for Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Somebody needs to go to all the nursing homes and take those people's cell phones away!!! We know they are the ones voting to keep Cloris on the show! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  149. Well, I'm glad somebody finally figured out why she's still there!LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Nana that was a good one! Yes, she needs to go....after all isnt she supposed to go to Berlin to film a movie with Brad Pitt?
    So go already!

    ReplyDelete
  151. Awe, I felt bad for Toni last night. She did not deserve to go before Cloris or Susan. I love La Lucci, but her dancing is just too dainty for me and I don't think it's going to improve much. I was actually really worried for Lance & Lacey. Sometimes one bad dance can get you sent home in this competition. I'm glad to see that was not the case for them. While I agree that Lacey wasn't showcasing Lance as much as she should have, I thought the judges were way harsh on her. It certainly wasn't the first time the female pro danced circles around their celebrity - can you say Edyta, Karina, Kim and even Julianne!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Regarding this week's shows. I wish they would show samples of what the new dances should look like. Apparently, neither was outstanding and I just want to know what it should look like so I could tell whether I should like them or not. I thought both Lance and Toni's dances were fine.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Anon, ask and you shall receive...

This is Benji (Lacey's bro) and Heidi (their cousin) trying out for So You Think You Can Dance Season 2. Benji won this season, for those who don't watch.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_AMmwI9fYc

And this is a SYTYCD couple in Season 3, Pasha & Sara, performing a dance choreographed by Benji. Lacey was a contestant on this season for those who don't watch.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dngYxB1N4zI&feature=related

And this is a SYTYCD couple this past year, Joshua & Katee, peforming a dance choreographed by both Benji & Lacey.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjAc4eFF48U&feature=related

Hopefully all those links work for everyone. Even those of us who've already seen them will probably enjoy watching them again :-)

    ReplyDelete
  154. Thanks for those clips Caroline. It was fun to see them again. Benji & Heidi together are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  155. AOL celeb news says that Julianne Hough was rushed to emergency last night after the show with stomach pains. I mentioned on another post that somebody somewhere must have a set of dolls and pins this season. Has anyone not been sick or injured so far this season?

    ReplyDelete
  156. Wow, we are going to have to start calling this DWTS - The General Hospital Edition!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Lol, I don't think Cloris or Corky have been injured yet...maybe she's the one doing the voodoo and trying to take out the competition.

I hope everything turns out alright for Julianne.

    ReplyDelete
  158. So there's going to be a group hip hop routine next week. I don't know which one I can't wait to see more, Cloris or Susan doing hip hop. They should both be pretty hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Rbennie (12:40) - Amen!

Susan will be her usual stiff self and Cloris... who knows what she will do, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  160. Julianne is back home and doing fine. Apparently a super bad stomach ache.

Cloris doing hip hop. I shudder to think....

    ReplyDelete
  161. Reality TV World has quite an article About DWTS and their "concern" with Cloris Leachman still being there in spite of low scores (I think their scores for her have been overly-generous) given by the judges. It's not just her continued participation that bothers them, it's also her unpredictable behavior, which has included "cursing" at the judges, trying to bribe them with cash, grabbing Samantha Harris' cue cards and interfering with Harris' backstage interviews. Both Harris and the judges are "sick and tired" of Leachman's attempts to dominate everything. Susan Lucci is also very upset that "better" dancers are leaving before Cloris. Harris denies this story.

I think they've created a monster and they're stuck with it.

    ReplyDelete
  162. E!Online is reporting that Julianne Hough will dance on the show tonight but is scheduled for surgery tomorrow to have her appendix removed. She is suffering from endometriosis. She may return as early as next week. After tonight and for the next week, Cody will be paired with another dancer.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Okay, I asked last time.... who is going to ask Jackie for Part 3?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Why is a one-horse pony like Michael Flatley judging these dancers? He does what he does well. What could he possibly know about these dances? Poor choice of a substitute. IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I am the one who posted the who is post. I forgot to add my name. Oh, well, blame it on old age.

BTW, Nana, love you solving why Cloris is still there.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Lance and Lacey did very well. That jive was fun and lively!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Maybe Michael will do better than Len. They got some deservedly good scores that Len probably would not have given to them. I don't think Len likes them.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Lance & Lacey were so good. I'm glad they redeemed themselves from last week.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Well Susan certainly tried hard, but there were a lot of mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Flately is like the Paula Abdul for DWTS. Nothing but nice things to say.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Susan... (zzzzzzzz) snore

Is an appendectomy an outpatient procedure these days? Will Julianne dance next week?

    ReplyDelete
  172. I agree Susan wasn't so hot again.

Now Brooke has a foot problem. I still think someone is lurking with dolls and pins somewhere. Maybe Cloris handed them out to those same nursing home folks with the telephones.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Julianne is being admitted tomorrow for the surgery. The article only stated she could possibly be back as early as next week. Didn't say whether she would be dancing.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Brook having an off day.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I'm liking Michael more and more. That was a bit unfair, though.

Hope he sticks it to Cloris.

My wv is grama. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  176. It's pretty funny that they make Flatley go first, and he gives Brooke rave reviews. I think he was obviously giving remarks based on what he thought the other two would say, and they went in another direction. Way to embarrass the guest judge, lol!

And enough of the GHWTS (General Hospital With the Stars)! I'm sure her foot is sore, but you couldn't have an easier dance than the Rumba when you want to take it easy. It's not like she had to dance Jive or Quickstep!

    ReplyDelete
  177. If Cody has to be paired with a replacement I sure hope it isn't Karina!!

Maybe the show should take a week off and let everyone heal....yea, and pigs fly!! LOL

My niece just had a similar surgery. She was in and out in one day; back to work 2 days later. Of course, she wasn't choreographing, teaching, and dancing a samba, rumba, or something fast-paced!!

    ReplyDelete
  178. That ouch was for the previous comment, not yours, Nana.

    ReplyDelete
  179. PLEASE SEND CLORIS HOME!

    ReplyDelete
  180. Watching Cloris was painful! It is long past her going home time.

I think that Carrie Ann's slam, "We had to lose Toni for this" hit the nail on the head.

Hopefully Cody will survive. I just hope -- as does Nana that he doesn't have to dance with Karina.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Judges!!! Stop worrying about offending fans and Cloris and let her know by the scores that the joke has gone on long enough. Cloris should have been gone a long time ago.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Hi Becky--I just put a request in to Jackie for a new post....I even remembered to say "please" and "thank you"!!

    ReplyDelete
  183. Lord, if only I could have had Julianne's body for one day.

She makes it look so easy. That was a HOT samba.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I liked that samba.

Edyta will be Cody's partner.in the interim.

    ReplyDelete
  185. How many bad feet does that make? Susan, Brook. Didn't someone else have a foot problem?

    ReplyDelete
  186. Late to the show tonight, but I did catch Cloris and Corky as I came in. I agree this should be the week for her to go. The problem is the voters who keep both her and Susan Lucci around. I don't think Clorky can overcome that score though.

    Warren and Kym up.

    ReplyDelete
  187. I thought the judges were too harsh of Cody and Juliann and Brooke and Derek tonight and too light on Susan.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Warren is quickly becoming one of my absolute favs. He nailed that!

    ReplyDelete
  189. Does the music sound like a slightly defective CD throughout the show or is it just my cable?

    ReplyDelete
  190. Nana in the NW said... Hi Becky--I just put a request in to Jackie for a new post....I even remembered to say "please" and "thank you"!!

    Thank you Nana.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Wow! Lance and Lacey got the high score tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  192. This hip-hop ought to be something.

    ReplyDelete
  193. I totally agree with you, Becky!

    ReplyDelete
  194. The 9:14 comment, that is, Becky. (I need to edit more.)

    ReplyDelete
  195. Susan was out of step for a good portion of that. Cloris shouldn't have even been there.

    ReplyDelete
