Survivor Gabon - 10/16 Show

jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. While I won't be live-blogging it per se, I will update this entry with the big news. My full review will be going up on TV Squad later tonight. As always, have fun in the comments. But if you make a mess, you have to clean it up yourself!

Kota won Reward -- herbal garden, oils, spices, and fruit. They're sending Sugar to Exile again. She'll be back for Immunity Challenge.

Kota wins immunity.

GC was voted out ... he wanted to quit anyway.

  1. Hi all...Jackie I hope you are feeling better...YEA Meb sounds like your day back to work was good. Jenna, unfortunately if this economy keeps tanking more of that stuff is going to happen.

OK, hoping for a great Survivor tonight.

  2. How cool is that? An elephant that close.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Better than a pride of lions, but still dangerous!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ace is tearing it up with that club.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This is getting predictable. Kota wins again and Sugar goes to the sugar shack.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Poor Sugar but at least she has a little comfort in the "Sugar Shack"

    ReplyDelete
  7. Delee, where is everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Oh, Ace in the face with a pineapple, lol!

Our Kenny could've used a piece of fruit. He's really looking gaunt.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Was wondering the same thing, Monty

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi ya'll, I am lurking, just cannot type and watch at the same time. I don't know who I am pulling for since mine was second one out.

Jackie, hope you are feeling better.
MEB, bet you are tired tonight! I loved your post on your blog!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Daughter is on her way for the weekend so hope she does not show up b4 9p.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Delee, love your avatar! Is that Jay Cutler?

Jackie, hope the bug is all gone and you're eating well to build up your strength. Stupid rat poison!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh, Dan, don't take charge too much. You don't need that bullseye on your back.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is amazing how they can stand around and discuss stuff so openly. Randy is happy about this.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes it is Clementine. But it is a cut-out at the stadium, I guess. She and her boyfriend went to a game in DEN last year.

    ReplyDelete
  16. GC must not have ever watched the show. I think he expected it to be like a penthouse in NYC LOL

    ReplyDelete
  17. GC is annoying! And that's my guy, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  18. My sympathy, Monty, was wondering who had him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. GC is annoying. A complainer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. This is a first for me in a long time....I am by myself...alone to actually watch Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I knew she was just joking with GC, why is he being a baby?

    ReplyDelete
  22. All the losing is taking its toll on the Fang tribe.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That was dumb to go off alone in the jungle even if in the water in a boat.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Neat Immunity challenge...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Poor Ace's face twice in a row, has to be sore.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why would Ace listen to Randy? Sugar was his caller...seems fishy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jungle Plinko... I love it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. If I were Fang, I would vote me off. Sorry Pdx but our boy stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dan is safe for another week. Whew! We're still hanging in there, Terry.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He's just asking to go home

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi everybody -- was cooking dinner and watching but not able to comment

    ReplyDelete
  32. Let him go. Sorry, but he's been a quitter all along.

    ReplyDelete
  33. oh Chrystal, don't lose it around camp. I totally understand why she is on her last nerve, but with that crooked smile from ACE, I just don't want my girrrl to be hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Guess you called it Monty. Boy, I hate quitters on Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Look at Sugar's cute face. Petals are you liking her more now? I think you must be! Haven't read any comments.

People are going to be pissed at their little alliance though....

    ReplyDelete
  36. ooh shit, how can you leave the idol in the bag, have you never seen previous seasons??????

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just looked up GC's bio, and he grew up in temporary housing and sometimes homeless. That's got to limit your social skills, especially in stressful situations with difficult people. And he loves the outdoors, and that's how he escapes, so that would explain his running away.

And thus ends the psychoanalysis for this evening.

Oh, Sugar, why wouldn't you hide the idol better??!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nooooooo. not Sugar.

    Sugar, use the IDOL PLEASE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I hate when they go through other people's belongings.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Why did he come on Survivor?

    ReplyDelete
  41. sugar being gone is hurtful to her because she has not had much chance to develop relationships with the others in the tribe. She is relying too much on Ace, feeling too safe.

SUGAR IS TOO NICE TO ELIMINATE PEOPLE!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jeff is giving her a hint...she brought the Idol...just hopes she uses it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Excellent answer, Sugar!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, she must know that they know!

Is she trying to pretend it was strategy to leave the idol at camp? Sheesh.

Well, Txrednekgirl, looks like our boy is laying low for one more week. We're in it to win it! (maybe, lol)

    ReplyDelete
  45. stupid if they vote Sugar out now...

    ReplyDelete
  46. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sad to say, but good riddance. He did nothing to contribute.

    ReplyDelete
  48. They changed their minds. Whew. Monty ss GC is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Fang will probably function much better without GC. Who knows where this game is headed.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks, Jackie Goodnight all...CSI up next.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think they all knew everyone was voting off GC. Everyone was very relaxed, even the one vote Kelly got, she just kind of smiled at GC. She already knew he would put her name down.

    ReplyDelete
  52. How stupid is the Fang tribe. They knew that Sugar had the immunity idol and didn't blindside her? They are beyond stupid!

They should have told GC to suck it up for another week. He owed their alliance to do at least that.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Wow! Ace is really full of himself!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Off topic: I want to watch both ER and Life on Mars and they're both on at 10! And now I have nothing to watch at 9! Sigh, why does this always happen :) Guess I'll watch Kitchen Nightmares.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Why didn't they show Matty's vote at the end? I assume he voted out GC, too, but it wasn't shown. Odd.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh I am watching CSI, then Life on Mars if I make it to stay awake. I watched the first episode of LOM online last night and was impressed. I will be watching that show. I just don't get how "things" will connect from 2008 to 1973.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Donna, I really like the premiere of LOM, too! And I was wondering the same thing, will they show things happening in both timeframes, or just stay in 1973? And then how will Lisa Bonet stay on?

But loved the music and the production design! And loved the actors, so it should be good.

Just watching Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon's outrage is always good for a laugh, but it gives me the heeby-geebies about eating out. I don't like to think about that kind of stuff happening to my food, ewwww~

    ReplyDelete
  58. That one guy reminds me sooo much of Sam Elliot back in the seventies. I thought he was the hottest man I had ever seen! The hair, mustache and sideburns are just how his were.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Orkmommy,
We live again to fight another week! Go Bob!

Happy news today -- gas is $2.57 right down the road!

  60. Good morning all. I was very proud of my boy Ace last night. He and Matty are the only ones playing hard on Fang. I think it was definitely the right move to get rid of GC. He brought such negative energy to the tribe. Crystal was obviously joking with him and he took it all wrong. They know Sugar has the idol and she knows they know, but I bet they will still be able to blindside her at some point. Ace should be the safest person on the tribe right now. They would truly be idiots to get rid of him.

  61. I think it's been quite good season for Survivor so far. There are a fair amount of likable people and a diversity. It's not like the couple of seasons where it was all spoiled, catty, clickish 20 somethings who didn't get it, or seasons where most of the people didn't have any real game, and it only got good at ep 8... or where one team or both was desperately starving like when Elizabeth Hasselback was on (Australia).

Ork's plan to have us team up with a Survivor has only added to it.

How is everyone liking Survivor this season?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hi Sydney,

I'm enjoying Survivor so far this season. It's not as good as last season, of course, but it would take a lot to beat that one. I don't like that its so one-sided, but once they merge things should really get interesting. I agree that the Survivor pool that Orkmommy started really adds to the enjoyment of the game.

    Go Ace!

    ReplyDelete
  63. The tribe has spoken. PDXGranny & Monty924 have been voted out (along with Danny "GC" Brown).

    Until next week...

Ace Gordon - Rbennie & Nancy in NJ
Bob Crowley - ORKMommy & Jennasmom
Charlie Herschel - Jackie & Katie in Chi
Corinne Kaplan - Margo & Caroline – NJ
Crystal Cox - Sydney, Laurie & Becky
Dan Kay - Joy N & Terry in CA
Sugar Kiper - Petals & Gayle
Kelly Czarnecki - Lucy & Albglinka
Ken Hoang - TXrednekgirl & Clementine
Marcus Lehman - Meb & Sue
Matty Whitmore - RJM in SC & EileenM
    Randy Bailey - tbc
Susie Smith - Nana in the NW

Danny "GC" Brown - Pdx Granny & Monty924
Jacquie Berg - Delee & Zoetawny
    Paloma Soto-Castillo - Tessa
    Michelle Chase - lynn1 & Barbwire
Gillian Larson - Lars Eller & Donna in AL

    ReplyDelete
  64. I am enjoying Survivor a lot this season. Barbwire and I were the first to leave the Survivor pool but it has not taken away my enjoyment of the show or cheering for other players.
The scenery is beautiful, I enjoy most of the players and there have been some interesting challenges that I don't remember from past years.
It does seem to me that the focus for show content is more on Fang. I guess they have more drama and issues than Kota does.
There are a few players on Kota that I saw on last night's episode whose names I did not remember! LOL

It was interesting to see Kota's reaction to seeing that Jacique had been voted off Fang at tribal council.
I honestly believe if I was on team Kota that I would feel that Fang was comprised of a bunch of dummies who weren't going to be much of a threat.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I forgot to say GO REDSOX! I know many of you don't enjoy sports but last night baseball history was made at Fenway Park.
It was awesome to watch for a REDSOX fan (me, in case you couldn't figure it out! LOL) but a real heartbreaker for the TB RAYS.

    ReplyDelete
  66. You are right Lynn1, Fang is getting the bulk of the face time so far. I think we will be seeing some clashing on Kota between Marcus and Dan in the near future though. Dan appears to be taking over as leader (at least in his mind). I didn't like the comment he made when they sent Sugar off to Exile Island! I guess Kota will have to start losing before we see any drama from their camp.

Thanks for the updated list Orkmommy. I'm hoping that my boy Ace being listed first is a good sign (okay I know its just alphabetical, but let me have my high hopes).

    ReplyDelete
  67. Had to put in TLC time at home last night, and am just now reading/watching the show. Wow. Glad it played-out in Sugar's (my) favor. Whew.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have a littel Oz-crush on Matty. He is such a boy-toy! MMM

    ReplyDelete
  69. shout out to Joy n, hey our boy needs to CLAM UP!! Im glad he is safe, but he is being too much of an open book...
Thanks to Orkmommy for making this competition more interesting!
Our Laurie is in Chicago, but Im sure she is checking on the net!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Maybe it's just the lighting, but Kelly and Matty look like brother & sister.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sydney - You are the resident fashionista - what is yor opinion of Sugar's tribal wear? She seems to modify her clothing with her own style and signature leopard.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Whew! Glad to know Chrystal is still in the game. High five Sydney and Beckie!

I visiting my daughter in Chicago and she has no television. Imagine! I'm so happy to have my laptop and Jackie's crew helping me deal with my addiction because otherwise ... well, who knows what I would do?

We went to the symphony last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. today I'm going exploring on the trains while she is in school. Yes, I will be on my own but I will be very careful!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Good morning all....So far I'm enjoying this season of Survivor. With GC gone (thankfully) Fang really need to band together and start winning challenges. Thanks Orkmommy for making Survivor more interesting and go Matty!!

  74. Hey Clementime,

Our boy Kenny is laying low. They should have voted off Sugar not becuase she has the idol but because in the reward challange she just stood there and shurgged her shoulders and did nothing to direct Ace to stop the balls. It would have been a reality classic moment to vote her at tribal.

    ReplyDelete
  75. You are right about Sugar's performance at the challenge. She was giving Ace no direction at all. It was strange that she was elected to do the directing in the first place. The one thing you can count on is that Ace will always get the toughest position in the challenge.

I'm concerned that once they merge, if Kota sticks together, Ace will be the first one voted out.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Laurie- Stop into the grand old Drake hotel for some high tea... maybe your daughter can join you. And the museums are fabulous! great month to be there.... fall!

    ReplyDelete
  77. txrednekgirl -- good point about Sugar in the comps, what WAS that all about anyway????

Petals, I love what Sugar Wears -- The leopard suit is purrrrrfect IMHO.
I can't figure out what that kind of tribe-like painted burlap sack is that she sometimes wears over it. Does anyone have any ideas?

The bright silver 45 middle thingy (wassit called?) necklace should go though. Love it for city wear, but I like her looking all jane of the jungle with just her perfect shiny skin and innocent blue eyes under her Jean Harlow brows. The necklace interrupts the picture for me.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Laurie - I suggest going to the restaurant/bar in the John Hancock rather than going up into the Sears Tower. The view is just as good and you can enjoy a drink or lunch while enjoying the view. It's also not as crowded!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Previews shows Sugar asking Ace if she should give him the Idol and he's responding with if she thinks it's a good idea. You've got to be kidding. If she wants to stay in the game, she better keep that thing... they were already talking about blindsiding her!

Ace was getting on my nerves with his smirks... sorry rbennie and nancy in nj... speaking of nancy, where are you, have you posted recently???

Dan seemed a little quiet when on the Fang tribe, but he seemed to step up on the Kota tribe. Better watch it Dan, (MY) Marcus didn't seem to like you trying to take over.

Today second day on the job. Still feeling just fine!

If you didn't check out my blog, go to it now... it's too good to miss. Read orkmommy's comment... made me LOL!. Leave a post and let me know you were there.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'm enjoying Survivor this season. Been a bit impressed by old Randy. (Not impressed in the same way Petals is by Matty! LOL) He really does well in the challenges.

    Jennasmom

    ReplyDelete
  81. Laurie - I cna't believe your daughter doesn't have television! How does she survive? I'm not kidding!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks for your prof opinion, Syd. Regarding her necklace, I'd bet the farm that her dad gace it to her, and that is why she wears it 24/7. Right?
Check out IMDb - Jessica Kiper has quite a resume' and... she's married!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hi MEB - Glad you are happy back at work. How can Ace help but smirk at this band of losers that he got stuck with! No offense to anyone's favs, but come on, these guys are pitiful and he's busting his butt trying to win comps virtually by himself. Matty is the only other one on the tribe pulling his weight.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Just yankin' your chain a little bit rbennie... I have to agree with you. When they were choosing sides, he picked Matty, but it went downhill from there. The weak players were picking the weaker ones. Was this a strategy on their individual parts, hoping if at tribal council, they could point out someone was weaker than they were.

I think Ace must have picked Sugar to guide him since they are so close. He probably didn't realize she couldn't think that fast...LOL

    ReplyDelete
  85. LOL MEB, well he sure learned the hard way - shield to the face!

    ReplyDelete
  86. petals...you made me laugh at your comment to Laurie about how can her daughter live without TV... you really are serious! Too funny!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Petals - Where did you see that she's married? I saw "Once engaged to actor Tony Denman." but nothing about a husband.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Correction from my daughter. She does have a television but does not have any reception at the moment. She is living on money saved over many years to go to grad school and is waiting to see if she can afford cable. I may have to do some sleuthing and make that a Christmas present! She watches her shows online after they are on. She also said I should tell you all that she's the one who got me hooked on reality TV with BB, AR and ANTM.

    ReplyDelete
  89. orkmommy, thanks for the suggestion for going up for drinks or lunch. I hope we can do that!

Wasn't there a link here earlier to a fun game? I can't find it now!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Terry, yes, Dan needs to zip it or he's gonna get tossed out of there.

Way to go on being back at work, Meb! What a great constitution you possess!

I agree that Orkmommy had a really fun idea here.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Wow Petals, I checked out Jessica Kiper (sugar) and she is a natural as far as acting. I was really impressed. Here is a little YouTube demo reel of hers

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjty_rGyU38

    ReplyDelete
  92. there are also a few videos called Kiper with Family, that has what looks like Russian print and songs. IT looks like very early she was married and had a son with some dark haired guy and he is trying to remind her or the world of it.

There were 3 posted just in late August and there are about 3 of them, all with the same pictures, just different music. A former husband who is a staler and pissed she left?
