Survivor Gabon: 10/23 Show

jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. While I won't be live-blogging it per se, I will update this entry with the big news. My full review will be going up on TV Squad later tonight. As always, have fun in the comments. But if you make a mess, you have to clean it up yourself! I've had enough to do with cleaning up Mandarin spam for days now. Sorry about missing a few. I reported the spam blog owner, but still getting it. You guys only saw a few -- it's been about two dozen a day all week.

Argh ... Sugar gave Ace the idol for "safekeeping."

Kota won reward -- baked goods, coffee, tea. They once again sent Sugar to Exile Island.

Kota won Immunity again, thanks to Ace thinking he's Boy Wonder on Fang.

Kelly was voted out.

  1. First??? I don't believe it.

  2. Well I am flipping back and forth to watch the Auburn vs. West Virginia football game tonight.

  3. Randy wasn't complaining about the food hogs on Kota? He complained enough when he was on Fang.

  4. Hey all, thank goodness for wifi...

Donna, I have some pics up at my blog...not the best but I am trying!

  5. Wow, another elephant at the Fang camp. Thats where I'd want to camp!

  6. Great Delee. I will be visiting for sure! I haven't been online at all today...busy at work!

I didn't think Sugar GAVE him the idol for him to use but to hold for her...anyone else think that?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Stopped by Lady and Sons shop and the Deen boys were there, Jamie and Bobby. That is Conny with them...

    ReplyDelete
  8. I want Fang to win this reward. I hate watching one tribe starve while the other eats high on the hog.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sorry to hear about the spammer, Jackie, like you don't have enough to deal with.

Dan, stop eating like a pig!

Sugar thinks Ace will keep the idol in safe-keeping for her? She'll never see it again.

  10. This challenge reminds me of the one they did in the water a few seasons back. Was it Yul's season?

  11. Crystal is so faking it...to drop out sad

    ReplyDelete
  12. What good is Crystal, really?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Jeff sounded like he was feeling sorry for them too.

    ReplyDelete
  14. JP is mean letting them eat in front of Fang

    ReplyDelete
  15. Poor Sugar! I think Crystal's tears are fake, just like her efforts.

    ReplyDelete
  16. What is up with people and disrespect on these reality shows?

    ReplyDelete
  17. For Crystal to have been an Olympian, she is not very strong.

Sugar is not very bright. I think the bleach has reached her brain.

Dan IS making a pig out of himself with the food.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree Joy, that anyone who has won an Olympic medal, could not be that worthless!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Its no wonder they lost. They haven't been eating hardly anything and that comp required stamina. I'm starting to really feel sorry for Fang and Randy is just plain mean.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Terry, our man, Dan, is making a pig of himself. If, by some miracle, Fang wins immunity tonight, he may be sent home.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It really would take a miracle for Fang to win, but CBS has really been highlighting the friction over at Kota so it could be them going to TC.

  23. My ex used to catch snapping turtles. I could never bring myself to eat any of it. He said it tasted like chicken but I never bought it. Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I had Turtle Soup at Brennan's in New Orleans years ago, was not thrilled to eat it, but a one time thing. I do not remember what it tasted like.

  25. Kelly cannot say anything about Crstal.

  27. Well, Ace can't blame anyone else for that loss!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dang hoped Fang would win this time. Wonder who will go!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anon 8:31, I've never seen that kind of alert here. Don't know about anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I grew up eating Turtle Booyah in Wisconsin - my grandmother would catch a couple of snapping turtles each year and it's like a good think chicken stew. The best...

I was curious how they would tackle the turtle...

  31. Another loss by Fang. Will the idol come into play and didn't JP say that there would be another idol blunder? If Sugar screws up, I will be po'd. Its her idol not Ace's. grrrr

    ReplyDelete
  32. I haven't seen any alert either.

You think they are planning on voting out Ace? He has the idol so the other one who gets votes will go home! Yikes...who will it be?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Once again Crystal wants to get rid of a strong player. What is she thinking? No wonder they lose over and over and over again. Kelly should GO!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hope Sugar doesn't get screwed over. After the way Ace just performed, and even though he's trying to put blame on Kelly, he may go. Oh man, if they think Sugar still has it, they may try to oust her.

And what have you done at the comps, Crystal?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh Sugar... you didn't just tell Kenny that, did you? DUMB

    ReplyDelete
  36. That just put a crimp in Ace's little plan.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I haven't seen the show yet (not even 6 here in CA) but it doesn't sound like my player, Crystal, is winning any friends. What's up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Crystal is weak, obviously. She quits challenges. She knows the only way the weak will remain is to get rid of the strong. Kelly and Ken know it, too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Dang Kenny, you keep losing your girl toys! The tribe was absolutely right on voting her out tonight. Bye Bye Kelly

  40. thanks Joy N & donna in al

  42. I can't believe Sugar gave the idol to Ace. She must really believe she's safe - which I don't!! She spends so much time out on her private island in the sugar shack that she hasn't been able to bond with the other tribe members.

Based on past comments and voting I think it's only a matter of time before try to get that idol played by voting her out. Then what's she going to do if Ace has it?

I don't trust his as far as I could throw him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Kelly out - that surprised me. Glad it wasn't Sugar or Matty or even Ace.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Whoo-hooo! Crystal lives to see another day on the island!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Next week will be really interesting. Two go home... one from each tribe. That might be where the idol blunder comes in. I hope not because I'm starting to root for Ace, Sugar and Matty. I want to see them go further in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Just a reminder, The Amazing Race will start late on Sunday because "someone" bought 30 minutes of prime time on CBS & NBC.
Don't know if football will come into play delaying even further.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I agree that Sugar, Matty and Ace are my faves on Fang and hope they make it to the merge. I don't trust Ace a whole bunch though. He better not screw Sugar over.

And my Dan better stop being such a hog!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks Jackie, hope all goes well tomorrow.

I have lots of photos up, I am no Jackie, but some are good.

    ReplyDelete
  49. My cable guide for upstate NY still has TAR listed for 8PM and the TV just said, TAR after 60 Minutes on Sunday. Maybe it's a local thing in your area.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, I'm not surprised to hear they voted out Kelly - fits the pattern of leaving the weak ones. I'm just glad they didn't target Sugar.

Now, I just have to wait two more hours before I can watch for myself. : (

  51. Laurie, I keep forgetting to ask - is your new avatar from you trip to Chicago?

    ReplyDelete
  52. What beautiful pix, Delee. The South is a gorgeous place with all that history. LOVE the porches!

Won't be seeing any blue skies like that up here in the northeast for a l-o-n-g time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. PDX, yes the new avatar is from my day at Northwestern when it was raining. I need to get the others up. Maybe this weekend. I don't have my Portland pics up yet either, do I? Geesh!

Jackie, thinking about you and what will be going on tomorrow. We are all pulling for good news from the doctor.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If anyone else goes to my blog, pics...I found out you can click on them to enlarge them. Like I said, "I am learning"!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Delee, I just took a peek at your pix.
    They're great!!

    Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I get it when I come on to view the comments. I wonder if it has anything to do with the SPAM that Jackie has been getting?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Is that Sugar on the show Life On Mars? It's on now ABC,

    ReplyDelete
  58. Delee, they are even more spectacular when enlarged. The details on those homes are absolutely beautiful! What craftmanship!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hey, Orkmommy! We're still in it! Old Bob does pretty well for a guy his age! Randy doesn't do too bad either for a not-so-young person - even if he is a little mean. I'm a little surprised that Crystal isn't stronger. Won't miss Kelly. Wouldn't have missed Ace had he gone, either! Only ones I like from Fang are Matty & Sugar. Yeah, maybe the bleach has gone to her head, but there is still something likable about her. I still don't even know who some of the people are on Kota.

    ReplyDelete
  60. My bad...I have been informed the 30 minutes of prime time "someone" bought will air Wednesday, Oct. 29th. I expect the Tampa Bay Rays to have already won the 2008 World Series, so I don't know what TV viewing may be interupted.

I'm liking Randy more and more...lol. Don't throw rocks at me, please.
I was also glad to see Sugar had brains enough to TAKE back her II!!
That is one sorry tribe she is with. I like Matty, but he doesn't seem to swift. Why oh why did he tell Kenny he had a pact with Ace...but since he did, why not tell Kenny he included him in it?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Good morning all. Hey you guys stop picking on my boy Ace, LOL. At least he's putting in 100% effort. That can't be said for others on Fang. Instead of blaming him for the loss, they should have shoved him out of the way and did the totem pole themselves. Getting rid of Kelly was the right move, though Crystal would not have been any loss either. I thought it was pretty funny how she was going on about Ace not helping them win any comps, hello pot meet kettle.

Whatever happened to secret alliances? First Sugar tells Kenny about giving idol to Ace. Then Matty tells Kenny about his pact with Ace. It was weird that he didn't tell Kenny he was included in the deal.

I absolutely hate Randy - what a mean spirited jerk. There's nothing worse than a sore winner!

    ReplyDelete
  62. anyone think it's merge time yet?

    ReplyDelete
  63. The merge will probably come in 2 weeks after the double elimination next week.

    ReplyDelete
  64. both tribes getting rid of someone next week, must end up being merge time. Fang would only have 4 people left if they don't merge.

Funny story on myself. I have trouble reading the word "Fang" as pronounced "Fong", so I have to actually stop and think before I read the word. Monty924 wrote "Dang Kenny,"... and I read it as "Dong". Made myself LOL.

I sometimes think the wv is targeted right at me... mine this time was "dumis" .. trying to tell me something... dumb???

    ReplyDelete
  65. MEB - That would be more applicable to Marcus, wouldn't it?
    ::: blushing:::

    ReplyDelete
  66. LOL Jackie. I had forgotten all about that. Now I have to go look for the video again, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  67. hey rbennie... your birthday is next week isn't it... 29?

    ReplyDelete
  68. To be honest, I reverted back to Clarence Thomas and that fiasco' when I first said it, but I like your reference better.

    wv: pemonia

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hi MEB - Thanks for remembering - it's actually the 28th though. Your guess was better than my husband's. After all these years he still can't get the date right on the first try.

    ReplyDelete
  70. rbennie: the 29 was meant as your age...

    ReplyDelete
  71. ROFL - MEB. That never even occurred to me. Don't I wish it was my 29th b'day.
