Survivor Gabon: 11/20 Show Post

jackie's tv blog, survivor

The show has started here on the East Coast. While I won't be live-blogging it per se, I will update this entry with the big news. My full review will be going up on TV Squad later tonight. As always, have fun in the comments!

Bob's at Exile Island again thanks to Kenny picking him during the auction and Sugar is upping her anti-Randy game.

Kenny wins individual immunity!

Bwhahaha! Randy played Bob's fake immunity idol and was voted out! Oh, happy day!

  1. OK, what is the curse of the first person? Is it for Survivor or Tar?

    ReplyDelete
  2. why is BOb telling Sugar that he has made this idol?

    ReplyDelete
  3. crickets --where is Clem? Clementine is usually in here first!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Checking in... I love the auction.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Poor Bob!

Chrystal is my gal from the pool but I have been rooting for Bob from the get go.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sugar can really be a biotch! It's kind of funny.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I suppose its just you and me Sydney! Where is everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Too smart for his own britches. Kenny, that is.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hey guys! I'm here but can't get the link to the east coast live feeds to work so I can watch with you. :( Maybe if Nana shows up she might have it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. What a greedy pig Randy is!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Late to the game tonight, but here I am!

Oh, my little rat Kenny sent Bob to Exile.

Randy cannot possibly be this obnoxious in real life. The Cookie Nazi!

So, Sugar has the idol, and Kenny knows and Bob told Sugar he made a fake idol? Is that right?

    ReplyDelete
  12. zoe--I just checked in. I haven't been able to EC lives most of the season. I don't know what happened. I usually just read these comments, beg for more details, and then watch it WC time!

My gals here are very good about answering my questions but there's always something I missed until I see the show!

    ReplyDelete
  13. So, who knows about Bob's fake idol besides Sugar?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I would have continued to bid from that Bathtub. I would have gone for a bath and my own fresh new clothes over food any day -- though the choc and peanut butter would be a temptation.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So sorry for whoever has Randy! What a alpha-hotel.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I hope somehow Randy figures out a way to get Bob's idol without realizing it's a phony. Just so he can show how much of an ass he is.

    ReplyDelete
  17. nana...

    I found it yay!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. How can they let Bob look for an idol that's not there? Do they have another one?

    PERFECT!!

  20. nana...

Did the link work for you?

    ReplyDelete
  21. syd...

You mean there wasn't an idol there?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Er.. not to take away from the moment of Bob's spontaneous safari, but how come they just happened to have a helicoptor shooting the panoramic views of that hillside? Hmmm?

    ReplyDelete
  23. That must be editing that he said Bob Randy Corinne so loudly as Randy was almost standing at the hut door.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Randy needs to wash his mouth out with soap!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wouldn't want to take a bath naked in public, would you?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Clem - my thoughts exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Randy needs to wash his personality out with soap!!

That doesn't even make sense, but it's true :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't know Syd. They keep giving him the clues, but he's not really looking.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hey, I am here too. Worn out from cleaning out the garage. Our garage sale was a big success and we got rid of a lot of cr -- stuff. I am going through every box we took out of the garage before the sale and sorting through them, then tossing a lot.

Yes, Randy is a donkey (interpet, please). And since Sugar found the immunity idol, they hid another one.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He;'d rather take a walk than get the idol which might get him closer to a million dollars?

Randy is being a little Richard Hatch like ....

    ReplyDelete
  31. I keep hoping we missed something on Bob's trip to exile island. Man o man... I want Bob to stay in this and kick some Survivor butt. Randy's little plan could backfire.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Randy is such a mean guy. Wonder if he has any friends in RL?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Guess that jumping in the tub in front of peeps is nothing for them since there is no privacy there!

Maybe there is another idol on EI.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi Becky -- glad the sale went well.

My husband is saying they did not hide another idol. Curses! Who do I believe!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Randy is nothing like R Hatch, except we get to see his butt! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, OH! Joy's plan might actually come to be! Please, please let Randy try to use the fake idol!

Oh, please, gods of reality tv... We, the bloggers of Jackie's, call upon you to bring karma down on Randy!!

(Apologies to whoever has him in the pool, lol)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sugar always has such a good attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Clemintine...

    My sentiments about Randy exactly!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Randy may finally be outsmarting himself. Man, I hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Look at how cut ms. Chrystal's arms are in that interview.

I want to know how Randy thinks that even if he's being more of an ass to get them to vote for him (while he produced the idol he thinks bob has), that being an arse will win him any votes from the jury should he make it to the final 2.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, I do hope that Randy plays the fake idol. How funny. I better be sure to go to the bathroom before Tribal Council or I will wet my pants laughing! I hope he doesn't win individual immunity.

I hope his little bit of psychology does not work.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Crystal will be bad at this, as she is so big.

Wow Corrine gets to sit out and watch how to do it..

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sydney...

Randy is not a shrewd as he thinks and will eventually shoot himself in the foot.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Randy playing the fake idol would be priceless.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I can't wait to see Randy eat crow.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Matty's little noises irk me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. thanks zoe but I couldn't get it to come up. The chat area was on but the live feeds were black.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He;s the puzzle guy, he should win!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yea, the little rat won it!

Go, Kenny!! (from me and Txredneckgirl)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Great!!!! Oh, I hope Randy the snake goes home! AFTER he plays the fake I-I.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Very difficult... Kenny is the man of the hour lately.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Great!!!! Oh, I hope Randy the snake goes home! AFTER he plays the fake I-I.

    ReplyDelete
  53. nana...

Did you click on ustream once you got the link up?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wooo hoo,Kenny just won the individual immunity idol. I've got a crush on the guy, I luv the young sneak!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Do NOT listen to Sugar, BOB!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. You go Sugar, what a plan! I can't wait to see how it plays out.

    ReplyDelete
  57. LOL with Bob giving Randy the Idol then saying to Bob that he has his vote for the Mil...this is too much

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ooh boy, I want this plan to work so bad. Randy is not the smartpants he thinks he is.

Randy will have the biggest surprise tonight, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  59. If they go with Matty's plan, I will be sooooo po'd. Bob can't go yet!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well, Randy, there's going to be at least ONE surprised person tonight, and... da, da, da, DA!!!
    It's gonna be YOU!!

Weeeeeeee, this is gonna be fun!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. And the trap is baited! I just hope they vote for Randy.

    ReplyDelete
  62. oh boy, as much as Randy's an ass, it would be hard to have both of my former teammates be so excited that I was giving up an idol that I"D MADE MYSELF!!!!

BOB is not getting Randy's vote at the end (if he makes it there ) and it's going to be a rough three days with the girl on his team -- I can't think of her name!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I have to keep refreshing to see your latest comments.

    ReplyDelete
  64. LOVE IT! Randy fell for it hook line and sinker.

    ReplyDelete
  65. SO glad Ace is not on the jury. He's out in public getting into trouble instead....

    ReplyDelete
  66. pardon Jackie, but Randy's little smirk made me want to throw-up

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think the feeds I'm watching are off from what you guys are watching...timing.

    ReplyDelete
  68. ooh, never be too sure of yourself.

    lol to Sugar's comment

    ReplyDelete
  69. U hit it on the head Sugar!

    ReplyDelete
  70. hey, to be fair Randy's and Chrystal's are funny too. THis TC rocks!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Darn!! I have to leave for dance class! I'm really hoping the last laugh tonight is on Randy!! Karma is a B*tch!!

Have a good night. I will be watching Survivor and CSI when I get back so probably won't have time to comment until tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Talleying the votes now Zoe

    ReplyDelete
  73. Can Jeff keep a straight face as he unwraps the fakle idol

    ReplyDelete
  74. Biggest laugh of any Survivor ever....

    ReplyDelete
  75. The producers LOVE this!!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. HEE, HEE, HEE!! Randy, You are officially a jackass!

    ReplyDelete
  77. So, Crystal believes in slapping?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Adios, you mean=spirited peep

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oh wow, could Crystal have been any louder. LOL, LMAO!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Here we go. Jeff must really enjoy this one.

    ReplyDelete
  81. ooh, what will his ponderosa stuff be like?

POOOOOOR Bob, those others better take care of him? DId he do any deals with them in exchange for doing this deed? Or was it just that good for him to get Randy off?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I can't wait to read Randy's interview on Reality TV World tomorrow. HE IS PI**ED off! KARMA, baby!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Well, so long Randy! Yay... for Bob but his days are numbered in this new tribe. I'm hoping Sugar and Matty will swing some love Bob's way.

    ReplyDelete
  84. That was immensely satisfactory!

    ReplyDelete
  85. ROFLMAO!!!!! Thank goodness I went to the bathroom.

Crystal didn't make any secret that she wanted Randy gone, did she. Everyone heard her after she casted her vote.

I think Bob can forget getting Randy's vote. This tribal council was PRICELESS!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oh my goodness, I have to watch this episode again.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Randy's face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. BTW, who DOES have Randy in the pool?

Commiserations, but hey! Whatta way to go!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Hi Sydney, what an epic episode.

    ReplyDelete
  90. WOW Marcus kept that idol...amazing

    ReplyDelete
  91. whaaaat? Did you see that preview of Bob talking to Corinne?

    Bitter Randy with his comments.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Of all the shows I've had to miss with you I'm glad I got to share this one.

    ReplyDelete
  93. What did Randy say? I hope they get bit by a green ....What?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Delee - I think Bob might be making that up to pass of the idol he gave Randy as one he thought was real.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Bit by a green mambo (sp?) - that poisonous snake they were talking about.

Hey, Zoetawny, you sure picked a doozy of a show to live blog on!

Glad to share it with everyone, I'll remember and chuckle about this one for a long time :) :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. I so hope Bob found the other Idol at camp. Please oh please oh please. Next week looks good!!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. That was the best tribal this season. Of course I'll watch it again on PT here. Have to go have dinner now.

    Ciao~

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hey Clemintine,
Kenny made it another week! Whooooooo Hoooooooooo!

    Good job Sugar!

The next to go should be Corine! I would love to see the four of them sitting on the bench together!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Oh, yes, Jackie! Now that you say that, I think you're right. Bob is trying to cover himself with Corrinne.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Jackie -- brilliant thinking and fast too. I bet you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Well that was a great TC! I could not blog, watch and pay attention, with my sons chatting and in and out of the living room.

I was afraid they were all going to feel sorry for him and not vote him out.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Never thought of that Jackie...stay warm all on the east coast...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Alecia, I'm sure Kenny would be happy to hear about your crush on him! I'm just so glad that girl that left first (can't remember her name) didn't stay around longer to distract him.

Txrednekgirl and I will be happy to have you as an honorary member of Team Kenny (if you don't have a survivor in the pool). Just don't use your womanly wiles on him, until AFTER he wins the million, LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  104. VERY satisfying episode!

    ReplyDelete
  105. That has to be what Bob was doing. I'm just hoping he can get in with Sugar more in the next couple of episodes. I have a sinking feeling that Bob will be next, then Corrine, then Matty... I do not want Crystal or Kenny to win this. Although... if I had to pick one of them, it would be Kenny. He's played the sneaky game well so far.

    ReplyDelete
  106. So Happy that my Matty is still Hanging in there!..
    RJM

    ReplyDelete
  107. In my humble opinion, this is/was the best episode I have ever seen! (And no, I haven't seen them all)

3 - Sugar covering her face and laughing so hard I thought she was going to wet herself

2 - Chrystal letting it be known whom she was voting out and why, so much so everyone could hear her

#1 - Marcus and Charlie, who at one time were (kinda?) part of an alliance with Randy, were laughing the hardest at what happened to him!

Randy - you are an 'effin tool! Good Riddance!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Sydney... I don't think there is another idol. Bob went right to it the first time there, and it was gone because Sugar has it. They can't not give him the clues because he doesn't know that Sugar has the idol, so they have to let him think it's still there.

    That's what I think anyway.

Can't wait for the Ponderosa to get posted. Really want to hear Randy's tirades.

    ReplyDelete
  109. That was a great show! The best! I laughed so hard! Randy really got BAMBOOZALED! Crystal yelling was a first and so funny! I don't know how they contained their laughter as well as they did? My favorite show ever! Go Bob and Sugar!!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thanks Clementine, LOL on the female wiles comment...All aboard for team Kenny!

    ReplyDelete
  111. YES! I didn't peek and I loved, loved, loved the way things worked out. This is my first season but that has to be one of the BEST plays EVER ... buh-bye Bozo Idiot Jerk Randy! YES!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Just finished watching. Can I say I love, LOVE, L O V E the way this one turned out?!?!

I must say Randy asked for it!

I haven't read any comments yet, but am anxious to see what you all had to say! I'll check back after I read them all.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Hi everyone! This was one of my favorite episodes ever!! I can't wait to watch every detail again when it gets posted online. :)

I was laughing out loud at TC, and thought that Chrystal was priceless as she voted and spoke out loud to be sure that everyone knew how she felt! Classic!

Our lil Sugar has some GAME! For being absolutely worthless at the challenge part of the game, she has pulled out some interesting strategic moves...

    Ponderosa should be priceless. :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. The immunity challenge was fun to watch - two of my boys watched the show with me last night and even they were impressed with Bob's fake idol and how Randy got played. When Crystal talked so loud during her vote, their reaction was the same as the jury. I bet the jury was entertained!

I wonder if Sugar gave Bob the idol to steer Corinne into thinking that he gave Bob the wrong one? hmmmm.... do we have to wait two weeks for the next episode because of Thanksgiving?

    I LOVED IT ALL!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yea, I was finally voted "out of Africa". I will be taking my wretched, curmongeonly self to the jury though...unhappy days over there.

I loved that he got played so well. Way to go!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I didn't get to watch last night because I was in Madison watching my nephew and his team take home their 6th consecutive state football championship!! GO TIGERS!!!

I would have loved to see Randy play that immunity idol!

So, tbc has been sent to the Ponderosa with Randy! Until next week...

Corinne Kaplan - Margo & Caroline – NJ
Crystal Cox - Sydney, Laurie & Becky

  117. While I was not particulary sorry to see Randy voted off and I agree he is a negative PITA, I was very disappointed in Sugar's behavior.

Perhaps I am not remembering the auction incident with the Cookies correctly. I know Randy asked Jeff if he had to share and Jeff told him yes, they were for the tribe. There was exactly one cookie for each person. Randy went to Sugar first and offered her a cookie she declined. He then offered her a cookie again and she declined. He went on to the next person. At some point Corrine asked if she could have the cookie or half the cookie that Sugar declined. She was given half and either Matty or Kenny took the other half.
When there was only one cookie left which should have been Randy's cookie Sugar took it and gave it to Matty leaving Randy with no cookie.
Randy had a terrible reaction and I do find fault with him for making it into a big deal. I also thought Sugar got entirely too much joy from doing it. She was mean spirited about it.
At Tribal Council I thought Sugar and Crystal were acting like bullies and mean girls. It wasn't enough that they had the upper hand and were getting rid of Randy they had to laugh and let him know they were kicking him in the butt.

I am all for blind siding and getting rid of negative people.
I lost all respect for Sugar and confirmed that Crystal is a as much of a snake as anyone in this season's Survivor.
At this point I am hoping for an all male final 3.

    ReplyDelete
  118. How do you spell priceless - R A N D Y - LOL. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I think he deserved every laugh he got. If the tables had been turned he would have been laughing harder than anyone. As far as the cookie incident goes, my take on it was that Jeff clearly stated that the cookies were for the tribe. I don't know why Randy acted like he had sole discretion for handing them out. Sugar declined taking a cookie at first - I would guess because she already had the chocolate and peanut butter.
Then when she saw Randy give Corinne 1 and 1/2 cookies she said give my cookie to Mattie. Randy wouldn't do it and gave Mattie the other 1/2 cookie instead. Then he turns around and offers Sugar the last cookie again, so she took it and gave it to Mattie. Would he have been happy if she took it and ate it herself? He was trying to play some kind of mind game and it backfired on him.

    ReplyDelete
  119. My poor Corinne - she goes from the top (Onion Alliance) to being ALL ALONE. I'm sure she will be very sedate next week - just accepting her fate as the next juror. - HA HA NOT. She is gonna raise some h-e-l-l. I feel sorry for Bob as I'm sure he is gonna come face to face with the Wrath of Corrine. I hope she doesn't stab anyone in the face.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  120. Rbennie, I do think Randy was a jerk and his behavior was bad. I also think Sugar acted badly. Randy always acts like an A$$, but Sugar was actually goading him.

I guess we have a different interpretation of the cookie auction.

Before last night I really liked Sugar. I saw her as a kind of free spirited flower child type young woman. Now I see her a a mean spirited mean girl.

I would agree that Randy is such a jerk he would have been laughing the hardest but that doean't mean it is OK. I would not have thought it was right for Randy to be laughing loudly and I don't think it was OK for Crystal and Sugar.

I certainly am not defending any of Randy's behavior he is a jerk. I was not sorry to see him leave.

I think I am the only person on Jackie's blog who thought Crystal and Sugar went too far with their celebrating.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Lynn1 - I agree with you they were poor winners.

I can across this game - very funny
Click here: Super Obama World (ZenSoft : Games : Online Games)

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  122. Lynn, I would normally agree with you 100% if it were anyone else, but I think rude, crude Randy brought it on himself. Even when Suzie tried to be fairly nice in her comment about him when Jeff asked her a question, he proceeded to blast her. Yes, Sugar and Crystal didn't have to be quite so obviously gleeful, but I can see why they were.

Margo - I think Bob already has a plan for deflecting Corinne's wrath. It looks like next week he's telling her he got that idol from Marcus, which we, of course, know is not true.

    ReplyDelete
  123. All the players saw the immunity idol at the feast - so I doubt that Corinne or Randy would have been fooled into thinking the fake on came from the feast. I think Bob really has the on from the feast.
    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  124. My cable guide says that Survivor is scheduled to be on at its regular time slot next Thursday.

Ponderosa has a clip of Randy. It says it is Randy part one so apparently there will be more to come. Randy now claims to be happy he was voted off. He's still miserable, preferring to watch Marcus and Charlie exercise while he guzzles beer.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I don't think so Margo. I read an interview with Marcus where they asked him why he didn't try to just pocket the idol instead of throw it away and he said he couldn't have gotten away with that because he was being watched too closely.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Ponderosa Part 2 is up also now. They're moving to a bigger place.

Jackie's review of last night's Survivor is likewise up on TV Squad and is, as usual, a great read.

    ReplyDelete
  127. ORKMommy said... Crystal Cox - Sydney, Laurie & Becky

But my heart belongs to Bob. I am still giggling over last night's show.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think Randy belittled especially Sugar, Crystal and Susie constantly after he told Corrine his plan. Under those circumstances, I do not have any worst opinion of Sugar and Crystal. I do not like Crystal anyway but I do like Sugar. She is the only female I am pulling for and I guess Bob is the male I am hoping wins.

Corrine turned me against her when she was so snobby and bashed Susie. Susie was being humble and honest with Corrine...goes to show that doesn't belong on Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  129. hello there, wow you have a great blog. I really really like your blog. I will add you to my Blogroll. I hope you add me too. THanks.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Oh, I soooo wanted to be bloggins & watching with you guys last night, but I had to TiVo it. But WOWOWOWOWOW!!!! My girl Sugar was stirring a pot and I loved it. That was - hands down - the funniest moment. LOVED IT, but...
Missed watching it with you guys, tho.

Is Matty gay? I hope not, cuz I'm working on a lil crush. He's no Ozzie, tho. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  131. I enjoyed every minute of it, and yes, I agree lynn1 it was sophomoric and mean girlish of them and of me to laugh along with them. I would have been crushed had it happened to Bob, and I did realize I was not being nice about it. But, if there were ever a case of just desserts this was it. At the time of the auction, I think, all of them wanted Matty to be on their voting side. So giving him the cookie could have been a good game play. Matty could have offered it to Randy, and didn't. Randy could have said to Matty, enjoy the cookie as a gift from me, and hope that would bring Matty to his side in the vote. I thought it was also mean of Randy to take the idol from Bob. He used Bob in the worst way. While Bob seemed safe that night, if it had been a real idol, Bob could have used it later in the game. Randy thought he was pulling a fast one. Bob, on the other hand voted with Randy and gave the idol away. I like Bob. He was the hero of the TC and was not mean in any way. Since he voted for Suzie and stuck with his alliance. But his expression said , I thought, that he did what he had to do to stay in the game, but wasn't too pleased about it. Sue

    ReplyDelete
  132. Jackie, if I may self-promote for a bit, I posted my analysis of Bob's actions on my blog:
    http://childoftv.blogspot.com/2008/11/bob-survivor.html

Please let me know what you think.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Hey... why DID Susie get in & out of that bath so quickly? Like my girl Sugar said, I would've stayed in that tub through the entire auction! That was odd.
Also, anyone notice that the auction was very short? It seems like, in the past, there were alot more items and lots more "booby prizes". Or maybe I'm just getting old. haha

    ReplyDelete
  134. Reality TV World has that new interview with Randy up. He says he absolutely knew that the idol was a fake but played it anyway. Riiiight!!! He's still an ass but he does offer some info that wasn't given on the show. In particular, why Dan was looking kind of inept while looking for the idol on Exile, and why it was easier for Sugar to find it.

    Another good read.

  135. Brett, loved your post. I have to admit I underestimated Sugar's intelligence for a good part of the season. You've made a lot of good points. I'd forgotten she is an actress.

  136. Did anyone else find the clip from Ponderosa with the guys spending HOURS (their words, not mine!) selecting their outfits for TC and then posing in the mirror to see how they looked together as hilariously strange as I found it?!?! I believe that may have provided the biggest giggle of the day for me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. They were kind of girly-acting. Maybe Marcus was just bored?

    ReplyDelete
  138. OK, I give! I've been spending the past half hour trying to find the link to Ponderosa on the CBS website. I did find the link to TAR Acapulco, but only for the latest episode.

Can anyone tell me how to get to the links for both shows, including the past ones?

Off topic: Is anyone planning on seeing the new movie Twilight? I didn't know this until all the hype about it has come out this week, but most of it was filmed in or around Portland.

Multnomah Falls is in it. Remember Laurie's avatar? Same place! There are some scenes at Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach. I have a picture in my blog of Haystack Rock, which is also at Cannon Beach.

I understand it takes place in Forks, WA. Nana, you may know more about Forks than I do. All I know is that's one of the places I always hear about on weather reports. There must be a weather station there.

I'm not into vampires so much, so I was going to pass on this one, but now that I know some of my favorite places are in it, I may have to re-think my thinking!

  139. PDX Granny, I do not plan to see Twilight as I don't do vampires...

But I love the Falls, love Ecola State Park, and really really love Cannon Beach while staying at The Stephanie Inn overlooking Haystack Rock!

If you see the movie, please report back to let us know what you think.

I was surprised at that, too. I asked my husband and he said, 'she was clean, she was ready to get out' which made me laugh because the answer didn't fit the question imo. I think something spooked her. Maybe she thought it was rubing it in to the others since they didn't have it. I didn't watch the early episodes, so don't know Susie's feelings on that sort of thing.

  142. G'morning guys.
So what is this Ponderosa site that everyone's talking about?? Any links?
Re: the movie Twilight. When I first read about it, I was interested in seeing it, but now with all the teeny-bopper hype, I'm thinking it may be more like High School Musical with fangs. I'm chomping at the bit to see Revolutionary Road!!!!

Me too, I just bought the book and will begin it when I finish the Alice Hoffman I am reading now.

  144. Hey Petals!

Ponderosa is the place they take the Survivors after they have been banished. lol

I never noticed it before last season, and think that it was new at that time? Sometimes the clips from Ponderosa are equally amusing as the actual episode, sometimes not.

It is actually just a link from the home page of Survivor at cbs.com, but here is the direct link:

    Have fun! :)

  145. Good Saturday all!

    dla--Ponderosa is like Acapulco on
TAR. They show the people arriving and talking about what's going on. I find them both quite amusing.

Granny--Forks is a small Indian town on the NW corner of our state. They always talk about it because it's where the weather begins for our state. Also a great place to see the whales as they enter the Strait of Juan De Fuca on their way to Alaska.

sue--Susie told the others on Survivor that she got out because the water was too hot. I would guess it was pretty hot anyway, so a hot bath would be too comfortable.

Not going to see Twlight. I do not like vampire movies or people running around in the dark. I think the theaters will be filled with teenagers. We are going to see Quantum of Solace.

Have a great weekend everyone....will check back later.

  146. I just watched Survivor online and heard Suzie say that the water was VERY hot and she was getting out. I guess a hot bath when it's hot outside isn't necessarily the best thing. Also, I know I've taken baths in very hot water and get kinda woozy. Maybe that's what happened to her...

I loved the way everything played out. I'm not in the Randy hating group because there's something about the way he played that I liked. He was mean but I liked him.

    Thanks for the congrats Sue!

  147. I just watched all of the Ponderosa videos. Marcus & Charlie are hilarious!

Watched a few Elimination Station videos and they were BORING!!!

    ReplyDelete
  148. dla, thanks for the link to Ponderosa. I did manage to find some videos on my own, but then had to sort thru all sorts of others in order go get the ones I was looking for.

I had to laugh at Marcus and Charlie trying to decide what to wear for the Tribal Council. . . . right down to how they were going to pose while sitting on the bench!

Nana, have you ever been to Quinault Lodge? It's not too far from Forks. I've spent quite a bit of time in Ocean Shores, and one time while there took a short trip to the lodge for lunch. It's absolutely breathtaking there!

  149. Hey, is anyone still watching Life on Mars? WOW, that was freaky! The whole episode was shocking. I don't want to talk specifics, in case anyone hasn't watched it yet. But the story is getting better every week, in my opinion. The actors are doing a great job, too.

My wv is "bakst" and I will be baking tomorrow. Hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  150. I am loving Life on Mars! It does get better and better. Why will Sam not look at himself when he was four? Does anyone think he is changing history?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Anyone know why when I try to watch a video on CBS it pauses every other second? I don't have this problem on other sites just CBS.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Life on Mars is great... really enjoying it. Did I understand that it won't be back until January following a Lost episode. Why do they do that... I guess the hoidays, but it's disconcerting. By the time it comes back on I've forgotten where it ended. Oh well, guess it's an age thing.

No Twilight for me... sounds young... I wouldn't watch a vampire movie anyway. How can these teenagers fall in love with the guy who bites people. Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  153. I thought that Randy playing the idol was one of the best moments in Survivor history!!!!!!! I love love love that he is gone ...he was a total a%&!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Ugh.. I just lost my whole post and now I have to re-type...

Life on Mars will be back in January after Lost. The network execs like the show, but the ratings were poor, so they're hoping the lead-in from Lost will help. Ten new episodes will air in the spring.

Any fans of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty, Sexy Money: looks like they will be canceled after finishing the episodes filmed for this season.

Heroes is in deep doo-doo, and the producers are trying to revamp the show to get the viewers back.

The description of the Survivor episode for this Thursday is a clip show with unseen footage and audition tapes. So, not really a new episode.

Now let's see if I can post this successfully, because I won't be typing it again... :)

  155. And a reminder for any fans of 24...

    Jack is back!

The 24 "movie" is on tonight on Fox 8pm-10pm.

I can't decide what to tape: TAR or 24?

    I'll think about it later.

    Have a nice day, everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I will be watching 24! Cannot wait since it was not on last year! If you are going to tape it, you may want to set it to tape longer than two hours. Football is on fox all afternoon and may run over.

  157. I missed the first few Survivors this time around, so I might actually enjoy a clip show for a change.

  158. Clem, I think Heroes got too much like a combo of All my Children and Lost--

Characters die, but just like on the soaps, they come back again, or are someone's long lost twin.

The go into the future, they go back in the past, they go further into the future, the go back to how it all began. New characters come out of the woodwork so there are just too many, and the ability to develop any kind of real story line or invest you in them is impossible... And their 1-2 minute scenes before jumping to another doesn't help. I have ADHD, help!

And the emotional range is pretty limited for every character--The cop has that one, sensitive, confused frown expression. Mohinder is always passionately pleading. The mother is mostly icy and in close up with every detail of her lip liner and eye liner just too often, lol.

The cheerleader is either crying or saying things through clenched teeth. DItto Ali Larder's character.

The only one who seems to be able to show any acting range in the character is Sylar. Hero and Ando still hold my attention, and I always like Eric Roberts getting to do his dashing/oily/creepy roles in any production. The one I want to see again, seems to not be rising from the dead: George T (Sulu).

Jackie-- I wonder if you stopped blogging on it for some of these reasons?

Heard that same fate for Lipstick Jungle -- will finish this season.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I've been perusing everyone's blog today and Laurie, noticed you haven't written anything since the tag. I always pretty much followed Jackie's Town USA, so I've added your other blog to follow... Now you need to get back posting. I love going in and reading old and new posts...

I've got a new one up... The Beauty of Mathematics... if anyone would like to take a look. It's a fascinating look at numbers.

    My wv is tileives...

    ReplyDelete
  160. Sid, we will be losing both Lipstick Jungle and Dirty Sexy Money...

It is no wonder that the reality shows have taken over at most networks. They don't keep any of the other shows on long enough for them to work, and with the constant day / time slot movement, most of them don't stand a chance. I knew Lipstick was dead in the water when they made the move to Friday 10 PM.
