Survivor Tocantins Ep. 2 - "The Poison Apple Needs to Go" Blog Gathering

jackie's tv blog, survivor

Oh, I wonder who the bad apple is, don't you? I hope it's "Coach" because he's so obnoxious! He lost his real job for lying about being away on the show. Heh.

Welcome one and all to the blog party known as a Survivor episode! Feel free to join in down in the comments as the show airs or afterward. If you're in the Survivor pool, I hope your chosen one fares well tonight. That is, unless my own pool choice is kaput because of your chosen one! I'll be updating this post with the major events and my review of the show will be posted later on TV Squad. Survivors ready?

Jalapao won immunity, fishing gear, and sends Brendan to Exile. The note twist from promos is that Brendan can choose one from the other tribe to go with him. He chooses Taj.

Neither have the idol.

Candace gets voted out in a blindside.

  1. I wish I was in Brazil, 16 degrees tonight... and snow ugh!!!

  2. Love your mask, D. When I was growing up in Mobile, my family had KOR and MMM floats. I rode for years, throwing moonpies & dubloons.
    FUN!

  3. I was envious of yours, mine is blurry so I changed it...never been to Mardi Gras just NOLA LOL

  4. SO I have Brendan only, as I gave my share of Deb to...who? L?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hey, former Alabamaians! Is that spelled correctly? ha ha

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sierra knows a pace but not a palm tree!

    ReplyDelete
  7. One more time someone tells someone else on the tribe about the idol. Is that a good thing or has it proven to NOT be good?

What is he going to get out of it? Except for maybe it starts an alliance, and you need to get in one eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hi Donna, I have no idea Alabamians who knows :-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hi guys. I'm looking forward to a good show tonight. Go Jerry!

  13. We shall see what happens to Candace and coach? Are both annoying or do both offer value or is one great and one a jerk or all of the above?

  15. Nice -- I said who's Eddie George? My husband was like DUH

    ReplyDelete
  16. Was it good or not for her to reveal that?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Think bad as the hubby made or makes good $$$

She just wanted to up her importance, but think a downfall.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Previews showed this getting intense. LOOK AT THAT RAIN!

    ReplyDelete
  19. OK Candace redeemed herself for the moment. GOAL

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'd not be doing this in a bathing suit. I'd risk being buck naked with all that wrestling and not happy about it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes! Maybe Brendan will find the idol, ala Ms Sugar!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I miss the rewards challenges.

If I went I would take a one piece and if allowed two then a 2 piece swimsuit.

Wow 2 banished to E_ile Island.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Great graphics again!

Donna, thank you for posting the list again.

Sydney, I didn't know who Eddie George was either. I think it will go against her. Ex Pro football player. They will think that the George's have plenty of money.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well that was an intense challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Delee -- great idea, a one piece. We don't see many of those on this show

    ReplyDelete
  26. There is a lot of time left for discussing who's going home and TC

    ReplyDelete
  27. Definitely not a smart move for Taj to say who her hubby is.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'd never go on Survivor, unless it was Survivor, Antarctica.

    ReplyDelete
  29. that's funny -- The angsty city boy. I think they will make for some fun scenes this season.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The country boy is not the "teenager" is he?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Who is Eddie George: http://sports.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0905/pg2_w_george_195.jpg

    Just another football guy...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tribal homelands means back at camp.. right? '
    Woo, he can trade tribes!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Spencer is the teen, JT is the country boy. Put them together and you get a Southern Lil' Smokin Sausage biscuit.

    ReplyDelete
  34. gorgeous background! Is this in High Def this year? I think so...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Why did girl bring the long skirt to the island? Cool maybe but not practical...

    ReplyDelete
  36. ooh, pretty boobies, lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. we can't let go of coach yet. He's going to be too interesting -- at least for a little while.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Syd - How YOU of you to notice the island fashion. You so rock. You should be a SurvivaStylist.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Don't these people ever learn from previous Survivors? Don't trash talk, don't tattle, try and fade into the background as long as you can.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Coach continues to show just how big an a--hole he is.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love the preview of the show I get by reading this blog. Can't wait to see the long skirt!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't know who they should vote out. Candace has a big mouth, but she played hard in the challenge. Coach didn't really pull his weight at all. Sierra is probably the weakest on the tribe. Oh what to do, what to do.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Coach is interesting, yes. So many layers.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thank you Petals!!! Hugs

    ReplyDelete
  45. LOL you sent it to me LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. Didn't Sandy find it in the sand? Didn't she dig deep under the stick and find something? My husband says neither found a second clue.

I don't mean to sound weird but Candace is really pretty. I'm watching on a 60 inch high def screen so maybe that's the thing, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  47. good answer Sierra. Not bitter. Good game

    ReplyDelete
  48. Respect trust oh my Brendan told a fib!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Candace is pissed. Girl is a winner in her life

    ReplyDelete
  50. C never saw that coming...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Who is it that Candace sued in a video scandal? R Kelley? M Tyson? I forgot.

    ReplyDelete
  52. She must have pissed people off in idle moments, far more that they showed us.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thank you Jackie until AR all!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ooohhh...Colin Farrell. Thanks to Candice, we all know Colin has a huge...shoe.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't think that was the right move this early in the game. You need to hang on to the stronger people.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Talk about a Blarney Stone! whhooowhh!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well, I not really surprised. Some times the more educated you are the more you feel that you know more than the other people around you. As an attorney Candace is used to people doing what she says. Some one should tell those folks that you can win more flys with honey than vinegar.

I think this tendency to let their mouth overload their a$$ is going to come back and bite Coach and Debra sooner than later.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Candance's after comments: In the long run I was an asset"

She's right. But all you have to do is say the wrong thing to the person who's allied with everyone else this early on and you're gone.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Timbira's a smart tribe, I hope they continue to loose immunity/reward challenges with players like Coach, Debbie & Sierra. The only member of this tribe I like is Brendan & I'm hoping that his secret alliance with Taj holds up.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Candace's former claim to fame:

    http://www.daytondailynews.com/o/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/celebrityworship/entries/2009/01/27/tmz_that_online_source_of.html

    ReplyDelete
  61. Candace is also in the Ciroc Vodka Ad with Sean Combs

    ReplyDelete
  62. Colin Farrell is the one who sued Candace.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah, Colin thought Candice had taken part in the sex-tape scheme with Nicole Narain (the woman in the tape) with plans of distributing the tape behind his back, the charges were dismissed a month after they were filed

    ReplyDelete
  64. We were late getting home and then it has been a madhouse for the last couple of hours. I missed this Survivor and haven't yet watched the first episode. I am letting my team down. Sorry. Then I come on here to check things out and see my girl is gone and you all know things about her that I don't. I can't wait to catch up! But, I want to watch Lost and a few others, too.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Charges were dismissed but he still filed the suit.

    ReplyDelete
  66. What is a pace? Still haven't figured that out...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Amberla:

Pace: any of various units of distance based on the length of a human step

    from Merriam-Webster :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well Rozee... we're still in it. Sierra and Sandy both seem to manage to hang on. I still have a feeling Sierra isn't long for this game. Sandy either for that matter...sorry Joyce and Nomad, but we seem to be in similar situations, just on opposite teams.

Candace has a big mouth, and she wasn't much bigger than Sierra either. I thought Sierra did a pretty good in the competition holding onto that ball when it took three women to take it away from her. She lost it when they were drowning her.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yay, my boy, Stephen, scored the winning goal for his team! They're definitely working better together than the black team. And now he's in a potential alliance with JT...looking good for awhile.

I love both Taj & Brendan and imagine they had a fantastic time on Exile. I really hope they both make it to the merge and form an alliance.

They should not have voted Candace off. IMO, this could be the beginning of the end for their team. She was clearly the strongest female and now they are at a clear disadvantage in any challenge that pits the females against each other. Taj, Sandy & Sydney could easily take out Sierra, Erinn & Debbie.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Dusty, I've noticed a couple of times you requested being in the pool, but I don't see your name listed. Margo must have missed your request. You can join rozee and me and root for Sierrra if you want, but I don't think she's long for this survivor, so I guess I'm not offering much. If only she could find that idol.

Or just pick who you like and tell us you're rooting for ?...

Did you get in the AR pool or weren't you interested in that one. Orkmommy is keeping that pool current.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Caroline, you're right..the girls on Sierra's team will have trouble defending themselves if they are pitted against each other. I hope that doesn't happen often.

The joke is on me... I was so intent on Taj's team getting some food, that I rooted for them through the whole competition, and actually jumped out of my chair when her team made the last basket, winning. Then I remembered that Sierra is who I have in the pool, and she's on the other team. Too funny... I actually laughed out loud at myself, followed by talking to myself advising me to "pay attention"!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Dusty-

Do you want in the TAR pool. I saw your request for Survivor but not TAR. Let me know and I will add you to the list. ORKMommy is doing the Survivor pool. I'm going TAR.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  73. Margo...do I have the pools mixed up as to who's keeping which one. Sorry.. didn't mean to butt in..just saw Dusty asking again, and I thought it was for the one you were handling.

  77. Paul McCartney and Wings sang Band On The Run.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks Jennasmom... Although I was being sarcastic :) I think Sandy is the only one on the planet who is unsure of what "pace" means, in that context.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Amberla:

Good! I was HOPING you were being sarcastic! LOL
But you never know. Haha! I couldn't believe Sandy didn't know what a pace was! Good thing she didn't need that idol for the first tribal council!

  80. It's Saturday afternoon and I'm finally watching Survivor. "Coach" makes me gag more than the termites and worms did. He is a pig.

Knowing Candace is leaving, it's interesting to see the tide change for voting her out.

The water play was too much for me. It reminded me of high school basketball against the real jocks. I was scared all the time. However, I never lost my shirt or my bra! Hello peep show!

Not sure if someone else posted this yet, but Taj is also a singer on Sisters With Voices (SWV). I read that she first tried out for Biggest Loser. If she stays on Survivor she may lose plenty!

Margo blogged about what she would take to wear on Survivor. I agree with her that a bikini wouldn't be on the list!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Welcome to the team Dusty. I like Tammy & Victor a lot and am glad to have another teammate to root them on.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hmmmmm? I finally found time to post and when I hit submit it said the page had expired and my post was gone.

Here I go again. I finally watched the new episode on my DVR, better late than never.

Can Coach be any more disgusting? Wasn't it Coach who initiated blindsiding Candace? If the tribes keep voting out the "alphas" will Coach be going home soon? Let it be so.

I don't think Taj was too bright revealing her NFL husband. Although, my husband didn't recognize his name. Maybe she just had to brag. Most players seem to resent other players who don't need the money. I agree with Jackie that it's about who plays the game the best and not about who needs the money the most. Although it's even more gratifying if a needy player wins the million, imo.

I agree with whoever said that a skimpy bikini is not the right style for Survivor comps. Why don't these contestants think ahead with their clothing selections. I'd wear a miniskirt, with stilettos. ;)

    Petals...

Thanks for the link. Seems as though many game show contestants have an unsavory history.

WTG Erinn...for keeping your mouth shut.

    Have a great weekend, all!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Zoetawny said "I'd wear a miniskirt, with stilettos. ;)"

    Thanks for the good laugh!

Yeah, Coach is the kind of guy women hate, isn't he? I expect he will be come this season's Randy. Remember how awful he was? Coach has the arrogance about him that makes me wonder what he is compensating for. And the moves he made on Candace? Ugh ... keep that tongue in the mouth, puhleez!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I finally had a chance to watch the show tonight. I'm one of those who like surprises, so I didn't want to read any comments until after I watched it.

Now, I'm disappointed that my gal had her torch distinguished. . . . and not just because I had her in the pool. I think she had more to offer than just negative comments. Oh well. Sizzie, you and I'll just have to find someone else to tag along with.

The one I really don't like so far is Coach, and I have a feeling I'm not alone! On one hand, I wouldn't mind seeing him gone, but on the other hand, like Sydney said, he could be interesting to watch.

Several have mentioned that Taj shouldn't have said who her hubby is. I seem to remember during one of her "diary room" sessions that she said she wanted to keep that under wraps. It didn't sound like she volunteered the info. It was asked, and it seemed to me that she hesitated before answering.

I'd like to see Sierra get well. I feel bad that she's sick. It can't be easy fighting a bug and dealing with 120 degree weather ~ not to mention already being somewhat of an outcast. So far, she seems to be trying hard, and I like her responses to things.

In the previews they showed Taj and an arm talking about a 4 person alliance. I wonder if Branden and Sierra are 2 of the others. If so, I wonder who the 4th person is.

My WV is hymbrat. I'm thinking it's talking about Coach!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  85. Yeah, I'd really like to see Coach go. He's creepy. When Candice mentioned voting him out my DH got all excited, but, alas, it was not to be.....
At least my boy Brandon is still in it! Hope he & Taj go far with their alliance.
