Jackie's TV Blog, Amazing Race, TAR

So, does the new Zoetawny logo for us rock or what? Tonight we travel to Siberia and the promos are promising us a "blind" U-Turn. Uh-oh!

Make yourself comfy in the comments areas, but remember to share your snacks and beverages! This post will be updated with major events and my full review of the episode will be posted later over on TV Squad. Enjoy!

Don't forget ... if you watch Celebrity Apprentice, we have a blog discussion post for the show right here! I won't be catching it live tonight, not the first hour at least. But you're all invited to share your thoughts on the show!

On with tonight's TAR!

  2. Kudos, Zoetawny! Another great one.

Deelee, what kind of steak are you bringing to the party?

I have Margaritas and nachoes if anyone wants any.

Got my favorite chair again. Thanks for hosting, Jackie.

  3. What is it with dams this season
    2nd one so far!!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Great graphic, Zoetawny! Howdy, Delee. Bummer about the rain. We will be grilling ribs later in the evening. It's only 5 here. The show isn't on here for another 3 hours but I'm going to sip a cup of tea and enjoy good company here. I enjoy the show just fine knowing the end of it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Porterhouse mushrooms and sliced fried potatoes!!!
Steak not as good done in cast iron skillet!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hi Becky! Thanks for the margaritas. I swear they are not the reason I park myself here on Sunday nights. Really ... *slurp* .... they aren't.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ahhhh ribs been wanting those for awhile...for one too much work!

    ReplyDelete
  8. We should be having vodka lol

    ReplyDelete
  9. It looks like the locals at the woodstacking have already had our vodka!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Now if they had some borstch (?) we would be set...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't know what sounds better, steak or ribs. Can I have a little of both, please? Oh, and pan fried potatoes.

Laurie, do you want your next Margarita frozen or on the rocks?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'll happily share my ribs and I do want some of the potatoes! I like mine on the rocks, please.

Gosh, is anything happening on the show? Or do we care when we have all this good food and good company?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Pass your plate here, Becky. There ya go!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Bobsled would be fun, but I wonder if the know Chekov!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Late to the party, but I brought lil pigs in lil blankets.
    Bobsled looks sooo much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Petals! Glad you made it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ok spelled it wrong...dang all the stacks falling...that would make me so mad!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hey Ms Laurie - lil pig in a lil blanket? Not sure how well they'll go with margaritas...?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The stuntmen can't find their house. They've already messed up on the wood stacking, but then so is everyone else from the second leg.

Gotta root for my men... go get 'em.

    Zoetawny!!!! You really do Rock!

    ReplyDelete
  20. All the stacks keep tumbling down. Mike and Mel will know Chekhov

    ReplyDelete
  21. Delee said... Ok spelled it wrong...dang all the stacks falling...that would make me so mad!

I wouldn't have tried stacking wood to begin with! Of course I know nothing about shutters, but who cares.

I think the stacking wood is the hardest thing they have had to do so far.

Why didn't the girl who had to go on the bob sled write down the letters like the second one did.

The little guys waste too much time.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am rooting for the lil stuntmen from the sidelines over here! Hope they can pull this out.
Oh, and I loved that no one wanted to UTurn anyone...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Amanda and Kris U turned that is nasty

    ReplyDelete
  24. D, I spoke too soon. Someone used the U Turn?
It's a good twist making it blind.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Noooooo not more dancing LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hey, Jackie! Does this seasons A-R seem harder to you guys?

    ReplyDelete
  27. YEAH another new team #1

    ReplyDelete
  28. It does seem to have harder tasks this time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Checkov worked for Capn Kirk, didn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  30. At this point I would say Amanda and Kris are last...as they have to stack the wood

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes, but that was spelled differently. Plus Spock Bones McCoy Uhura Sulu LOL

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, I hope mom and son make it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Luke ought to just start putting tiles in randomly and hope for luck like Christie (or Jodi?) had. He has absolutely no clue.

I know Chekhov, but would surely knock over the firewood and probably on top of me!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Petals, it's a known fact that margaritas go with anything so yes to the piggies!

I'm looking forward to seeing the wood stacking. It looked like a real mess on the previews.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jackie, I know! Poor Luke!

    ReplyDelete
  36. yea Luke! Whew, finally!

    ReplyDelete
  37. So like the blind u-turn, makes em want to do it more!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Do we get to see who U Turned them? I must've left the room ...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Petals, we may be sent to the house this week.

    ReplyDelete
  40. D- NO! Takes some of the sweetness factor away, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  41. They must get the dry erase board on the second run!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would like a pig in the blanket, please. Any dessert?

    Petals, we are safe!

    ReplyDelete
  43. So the cab driver has a Role wonder if it is real!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have some Hot Cross Buns!

    ReplyDelete
  45. *passing plate o' pigs* My dessert is gonna be a shot of cherry NyQuil - hahahaa

    ReplyDelete
  46. At least it is cherry...Petals

    ReplyDelete
  47. LMAO "Sinister deaf kid".

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh my she wears a thong to run HAHA

    ReplyDelete
  49. I really like the respect the racers show their partner. Also, this is the first season that someone has not rubbed me wrong the first rattle out of the box.

It is a shame that Amanda and Kris were Philiminated because of the detour.

    ReplyDelete
  50. OK all off to C Apprentice! I am stuffed thanks for sharing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm taping Trump's show. Gonna watch the super-cerebral Rock of Love Tour Bus. heheheh
    G'nite you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well, I'm exhausted and I still have the whole race to go! Only 2 more hours now.

I'm updating my blog tonight with some nice pictures so stop by if you have the time.

It's called Sassy and Silver. You can get to it by clicking my picture.

Thanks everyone for the fun evening and the good food. This was my first hot cross bun. Delish!

Jackie, thanks for the spot and ZT, thanks again for the graphic!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am going to watch Desperate Housewife.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Loved tonight's show. Sorry to see that team eliminated. They were sweet to each other

    ReplyDelete
  55. Kris and Amanda were my team. I hated to see them go, was hoping it would be a non-elim. I missed the first part of the race when everyone got seperated. I'll see the taped one tomorrow. Thanks Jackie. Great Graphic Z!

    ReplyDelete
  56. OMG ZOetawny -- I think you've finally outdone yourself!!!

I was pretty disappointed in the abilities of my guys Mark and whomever.

I was wishing this was not an elimination as I think that couple who came in last got gypped (even though it was good gameplay to get rid of a strong duo). How refreshing though to see a young couple who didn't GRIPE or abuse each other the whole time. I am liking the teams this year, all of them, I don't need a love-to-hate villain. Good teams makes it that much more suspenseful for me.

I thought that they didn't eliminate so many shows in a row like this.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm sad about the elimination. I was really hoping this would not be an elimination round, too. They were a fun couple and I loved that they were so nice to each other all the time. Refreshing!

Mom and Son better be careful of Karma coming around and giving them a U-Turn one of these days.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Laurie, you're right about the Karma! Previews for next week hint at Luke wanting to use the u-turn again. Not nice! Maybe smart, maybe not, but definitely not nice! LOL

Sydney, our little guys were driving me crazy tonight! Not too swift! MEB, don't you have them, too? They waste more time each week!

    ReplyDelete

  60. Well our team Kris & Amanda got philiminated! I was disappointed.

I half way thought since it was a blind U-Turn that it might not be an elimination round.

They left knowing that they had not done anything to make themselves look bad and some of the other teams were sad to see them go.

I like Luke and his Mom but they need to remember what goes around comes around. If they U-turn a team again next week I believe it will result in a nasty pay back for them.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It appeared to me that Chris and Amanda would have arrived last even without the U-turn. I wonder why they thought it was Kisha and Jen that u-turned them. Glad to see my team (Tammy & Victor) move back up after their downfall last week. They worked much better together this week.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I forgot to post the Survivor list on Friday. Sorry!

  63. Sorry I missed the party last night!! Sounds like lots of good food and drink.

I am really liking TAR this season. There is no one I hate but also no one that is my absolute favorite! I do hope Luke is careful about U-turns....karma! The bobsled looked so fun. I would have loved to do that. The little guys were really struggling. If they hadn't teamed up with Mel/Mike they would still be running up and down those streets looking for the sign that was right under their noses. LOL

So Melissa from the Bachelor is replacing Nancy O'dell...I didn't know she was a celebrity(until the last few weeks). I guess ABC likes to keep it in the family. Since she is under contract with them. Although, she is a good choice because she knows how to dance, having been a NFL cheerleader can learn routines quickly, and looks darn good! I'll be rooting for her.

And Holly, the playboy bunny is the other replacement? Hmmmm, does she know anything about dancing?? Hope we don't have to see Hefner sitting in the front row!!

Gotta go.....have a good day all!

BTW--I hate SNOW!! It is snowing like crazy right now and is suppose to continue through the day!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi Nana. I'm not quite sure how I feel about Melissa doing DWTS. I think she and Holly are both at a big disadvantage by coming in so late in the process. Too bad we won't be able to see how good Nancy and Jewel were (or were not). I wish Melissa and Holly good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Nana said about Melissa on DWTS: I guess ABC likes to keep it in the family. Since she is under contract with them

    ***

Good catch, Nana, Melissa won't be able to talk about the Bachelor while she is tied up with the new show. I wonder what she hasn't already said?

I agree TAR is good to watch this season. Now my team is out, I'll have a hard time picking one to be for..maybe by next week I'll pick favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Best line of the night "thank goodness for the Asian engineering" Victor

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jason and Molly are on the Bonnie Hunt show right now and she is giving neither of them any slack. Go Bonnie!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well from this point forth I will officially be rooting for Karma to bite Luke in the ass! I never liked him to begin with and this seals the deal for me. There was absolutely no reason for him to UTurn Kris & Amanda other than the fact he was intimidated by them, and to me, that doesn't show good sportsmanship. Nothing about the way he's played the game has shown good sportsmanship to me...mostly it just shows childish temper tantrums like last night. And believe me, I'd be willing to bet money that "someone" was allowed to help him with Chekhov. It was amazing how he went from having absolutely no idea to suddenly getting the answer correct.

    And yes, I'm bitter!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Couple of things about DWTS re: Holly & Melissa.

Holly and Hef broke up quite some time back and she hasn't been living at the mansion for over 6 mths....so he probably won't be there. Hef's now dating like 22 yr old twins (gross). Holly left him when she finally realized he wouldn't ever marry her.

As for Melissa, I believe that all participants of The Bachelor are under a LIFETIME non-disclosure agreement. Hence, why we've never had a tell-all book. For the rest of their lives these participants are never allowed to discuss production related details of the show. So her hands are tied as to what she says regardless of participating in DWTS. That being said, if she's really on the show I hope she does great and gets to prove that she's above all this and have the reality world view her in a better light.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Does anyone want to participate in a DWTS pool? No one goes home til next week and the picks are random so tonight dance won't affect to pool results. Any takers? I'll set it up.

    Margo

    ReplyDelete
  71. Better late than never, as I always seem to say.

Suegee! Our girls made fist place!
I never thought I would see that happen. Now we're going to have to learn to ride a motorcycle. I want a lavender helmet.

The wood stacking proved to be more difficult than I would have thought. Starting over was discouraging for many of the teams.

I could relate to Margie's frustration when she couldn't help Luke with the Chekhov puzzle. I thought Luke was never going to get it right but he persevered. I was surprised that they played the Blind U-turn option to help Jamie and Cara. Wonder if using the U-turn wasn't anonymous if anyone would play it?

Kris and Amanda have been Philiminated with their relationship intact. They will probably do well together.

Hey Jackie! Maybe you could do the bobsled even with your knee challenges. Hope the pain in your "other" knee isn't escalating.

    Off topic...

Sorry I haven't been around much to participate. Family obligations are taking up much of my scarce free time. My stepson has had some setbacks with his battle with cancer. He was going through all the procedures and tests to eventually undergo a bone marrow transplant when he was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. Turns out it was his appendix. Although surgery wasn't something else he needed to deal with, it was a good thing it didn't happen after the transplant. His doctor told him he would not have survived the appendectomy. Today he's seeing his doctor with a new problem. His legs are swollen and we're hoping that's not an indication that the cancer is back. He absolutely cannot have the transplant if there's any cancer cells present. Without the transplant the cancer will return so time of the essence.

Hope that wasn't TMI but just wanted to you to know why I've been MIA.

    Have a good week all.
    Ciao~

  72. Zoetawny, I am so sorry to hear about your stepson. Cancer is such a nasty disease. I speak from experience on that. Please keep us posted on him.

Jackie, I have no idea why I typed Petals when you are my teammate in the race. Petals in my partner in Survivor.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Zoetawny, I'm so sad to hear of your stepson's setbacks. My hubby's niece had her bone marrow transplant and after two months, she's doing excellent. I pray for the same results for your stepson.

Keep your chin up. Lots of love coming your way.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Sorry to hear about your stepson Zoe. He will be in my prayers.

Margo, I'm in for the DWTS pool, as long as I don't get Karina and Steve, LOL. Just kidding, I'll take whomever I get, but you just know they will be the first ones out. Great idea, thanks for doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Oh Zoe, I am so sorry to hear of all the scary things your stepson (and all of you) are going through. It is so terribly hard in every way when you can barely get a leg up before some new thing hits. And each hit feels harder because it seems there isn't time to catch your breath or heal before it happens.

I too have known of several people who've had bone marrow transplants, and are 100% well now and have been so for years. I am praying that he can go ahead with it. PLEASE let us know what happens with his legs.

And I hope you can hang in there. This has been going on for a long time now and I know it takes you to a very different life and reality day to day. Loved all your comments on Survivor though, so I'm glad you can have some moments of relief.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I really miss being in the same time zone with you all. I thought that with the internet, specific time would not matter that much, but in the case of our Survivor and Amazing Race groups, it matters a lot. I will have to hunt down your normal blogs and meet with each of you in your own bloggy realms. Love you!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Zoetawny... you know my prayers are with you. Believing with you for a full recovery.

Jennasmom...yes, I have the stunt men along with you and sydney. They sure do try my patience. They almost didn't make it this time and probably wouldn't have if there hadn't been that blind U-turn.
